Wont publish

I am new to Iweb. I have made a site and bought an .mac.account. But the page wont publish. I have tried several times. any ideas?

Please post here again with more details of the problem, e.g. any error message you see during the publishing process.
Or does the publishing process appear to complete normally, but your site doesn't appear when you visit it via a browser? ...If so, what do you see?

  • AS3 wont publish

Hi, I am trying to modify a FLA file, which is already done. Problem I am haveing is when I publish the FLA file, into a SWF, the AS3 file wont publish . Am a newbie with this so not sure what I am doing wrong, Without the AS3 file, the movie just loops.

It's likely that there's a problem with yoru AS3 file that's preventing it from compiling.
Check for compiler errors when you attempt to publish to see if that's the problem.  Normally, if there are compiler errors they will pop up in the same area of the work space where your time line is.  If you con't see a Compiler Errors window there you can make it visible by going to the Window Menu and making sure "Compiler Errors" is checked.  If it's generating any errors post them here if you need help deciphering them.
If it's not generating any errors it's possible that your FLA does not know to use the AS3 class.  Make sure your FLA is using the class somehow so that it knows it needs to compile it.

  • Comments: wont publish/can't copy and paste

    Here is the story:
I created an iweb blog for my toddler and used the baby theme. Well, he grew bigger (he's over 3 now), and I wanted to change the theme to reflect his growth. So, I bought the new version of iweb so that I could change themes. Well, I changed the theme (to kid blue, the logical next step) and it was horrible. All my pictures were all over the text and each entry of his blog would have had to be cleaned up. This blog goes way back to the beginning of my pregnancy so I wasn't about to hand alter every single entry. I changed it back with minimal damage.
    The result:
Since it is near impossible to simply change a theme without the entire blog going wonky, I decided to switch to wordpress so that I can change the theme whenever I want and not have to endure hours of fixing everything if I do. However, there is no nifty feature that allows wordpress to upload everything in iweb to the new wordpress blog, so I have to do it by hand. Copying and pasting, and uploading photos for each entry.
    The problem:
When I went back to old entries in order to copy and paste the comments, the comments were no longer there. I republished the web site several times, getting errors each time. Finally I republished it without errors, and I went back to the old entries to grab the comments, but the comments still are not there! What is going on? Why wont my comments publish? I then went directly into iweb, found the entry, and tried copying and pasting the comments. It didn't work, it wont let me copy and paste. It wont let me pick them up and drop them onto a word file either. So, I either need my comments to publish so that I can copy and paste them, or, I need to be able to copy and paste them directly from iweb. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Honestly, this iweb experiment has been a nightmare, and I just want to get this over with ASAP. I love Apple, but they really need to rethink this program.

I do believe the missing comments are a temporary problem, most likely due to Apple working the bugs out of "Mobil Me". Many if not all of us are having the same issue. I noticed my comments were not showing on my blog and had been replaced by an error message as well. Be assured that your comments are actually "still there" but for some weird glitchy reason are not easily being published at this time. I suspect the problem will be fixed shortly but if you don't want to wait then do the following:
Open up iWeb, then click "File" then choose "Publish All To Mobil Me" from the drop down menu. It will literally publish your whole site to Mobil Me so it may take a little longer then normal to publish (mine took about 10 minutes). I just did this and my comments are all publishing just fine.
    Hope this works for you.

If you are hosting your site on MobileMe, then you do not need to publish to a folder at all.
All you need to do is to change the forwarding method to get what you want. Log into your MME account through either System Preferences and MobileMe or enter me.com at the top of Safari. Once logged in, go to the section where is says Personal Domains at the side. Enter your domain name here.
You then need to go to your domain name registrar where you initially set up your web forwarding and cancel this. Then go to the DNS settings and set up a new CNAME with your domain as the alias and forward to web.me.com as your host.
If you do this, your url will then be domain.com/sitename/pagename.
You do not need to publish to a folder to do this - this option is only needed if you want to upload directly to your hosting space if you have it, which you don't if you are publishing to MME and forwarding.
Remember to back up your domain file for your site which can be found under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. You need this to be able to alter your site in any way.
The published version is just that and is only for uploading or testing your site - iWeb can't import so you do need your domain file.

Firstly, is the domain name that you entered into your MobileMe account and the one at Melbourne IT the same? If not they need to be the same domain name.
Also, when you set up the new CNAME, did you enter either your domain name or www as your alias and then web.me.com as your host? If not, then you need to do this.
Also, have you published your site to MobileMe? If you are using MobileMe as a host, then all you need to do a publish all to MobileMe. When using MobileMe it is the linking process that will be incorrect. You are not publishing directly, but publishing to MME and then just forwarding.
Please go and check that you have done all of the above correctly.

  • Google calendar wont publish correctly

I guess no one cares that that publishing breaks the google calendar html code,
but i'm going to keep complaining until someone  acknowledges there is a problem.
here is my calender page in plan view of muse:
I made a separate page that had no content at all called Test.   as you can see it has all the color choices for multiple calendars,   weekly view and and all the calendar features that are in google.    The standard calendar view page,  called Weekly Lessons, has the same html code, and you can see the top part of the calendar and it has the same formatting as in google and Test page.   Test is not included in the menu,  but I put a button on the visitors page.  to link to the Test page.    the first time I previewed in the browser it looked ok.  but after I used it a couple of times it changed to the poor display features that are shown in the published web site.
THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY A BUG IN MUSE.  IT IS NOT THE HTML GOOGLE CODE, AND IT IS NOT ANY DESIGN OF MY PAGES AS  THE "Test"  page has no content except the html object.    so come on, Adobe,
this is a problem.  it used to work in other versions.  you have changed something that makes it break.
maybe it is ok in the CC version.   althought I have been in the muse beta program  for over a year,
I can't get access to  the CC trial.  and the 17'th is very near and i'll be upgrading at the stroke of midnight or when it  goes live.
here is the home page on business catalysts:
    http://farandawayfarms.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
here is the normal calendar page:
    http://farandawayfarms.businesscatalyst.com/weeklylessons.html
here is the visitors page with the test menu button to link to the "Test" page that is not in the normal menu bar.
    http://farandawayfarms.businesscatalyst.com/visitors.html
I would be happy to send my *.must file to someone, anyone, but I can't attach a file and I don't have a normal
email address for support .  I can also put in drop box for someone.
I would really like some help here please.    there is definitely a problem.   but I guess this is legacy code now.
maybe you could at least send me the link to get the cloud version to try.  I'm ready to go live with this site for a customer, and the lesson calendar is very important and has to work.
thank you in advance for your support

here is my latest info after investigating on google claendar support forum.
and mostly some dumb luck.    LOL  ..
posted on google calendar support forum:
i am using the html tool in google calendar to customize  calendar  and copy the updated HTML code  to imbed the calendar on a website.
i embed this calendar more than a year ago and it still works fine today.   it can be seen at
http://www.farandawayfarms.com/barn_calendar.html  this is a godaddy website with custom html code, but that is not relevant.
I am build a new website for the same customer , ready to go live except for a calendar display issue,
here is the same calendar on a new web site :
    http://farandawayfarms.businesscatalyst.com/weeklylessons.html
note that in the latter web page,  the formatting lost the week default, tabs, color assigned to calendars, and maybe some other little items.
I have spend weeks, getting new calendar html code, putting it into new html objects, new web pages,  blank web pages,
over and over again.  in adobe muse,  dreamweaver and plain pages, and also have been complaining to Adobe Muse support forum for several weeks about this formatting problem.
when working today,  I discovered that if I copy and paste the html code from google into my web  software ( Adobe Muse or Adobe Dreamweaver )  and then view the page in the browser view in the software,  or publish the whole site with the new code,
I get the correctly formatted calendar and all is good in the world.   As soon as I log out of  the google calendar account,
the correct formatting is lost and is defaulted to monthly view, no color,  no tabs and other problems.
I have repeated this trial,  a second and it is true. the calendar  exported HTML is Good, if I am logged in the google calendar , and it changes to some other views, features and not what I want after I log out of Google Calendar.   in order to fix it,
I have log back in to Google calendar, get the code, and paste it into the web development  tool all over again.
the odd part is that the web site I built a year ago always  displays the calendar OK.    so what is changed???
how do I fix this.   after weeks of wasted effort,  I"m very very sure that this is a Google BUG.
    PLEASE HELP ME.
thank you very much for  any help.

  • My Adobe Muse website wont publish, it's running slow and showing a server error

I've had a website in adobe muse that I've published many times before with no errors. After publishing, It tries to upload the site and loads it very slow and stops at about 69% and says the server is not connected, even though I have internet, checked the firewall and updated the cache in explorer. I was able to upload another website that I have on Muse, it loaded slowly also, stopped at 97%, I resumed it and it loaded.  What to do next?

The site is hosted through business catalyst: northstarconservancy.org. I've had no issues with this website in three years and have been able to edit and publish with no problems. It shows a server error and says to check my network connection. I noticed that adobe was working on their server the night before I had this issue, so I will probably have to call the tech support and see whats up with it, since it seems related. Thanks, Amanda

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

  • IWeb wont publish My changes on the site!

I published the site to a folder and in deed the file changes were all there. I guess the problem lies in the uploading the files.

  • IWeb wont publish updated pages to site using Mobileme

Tried to publish 2 updated pages to my current iWeb site published on Mobileme. Am directed through a Facebook username and password login. (Don't remember this step from prior publishing.) Then nothing happens. No site update. No option to publish site available within iWeb. And no way I see to save my changes made in iWeb before I exit the program to try to figure out. I have lost work twice. What is happening and how do I correct the trouble?

You must have checked the box next to "Update my Facebook profile when I publish this site."
Click the site name at the top of the left column in iWeb to get to the Publishing Settings page to change this.

  • Projector wont publish a file with an "s" in the name

Hello There! I've got a "weird one" for you all...
When I try to pack a file for publishing, director mx version
10.1 will say that my file named "galaxies.dir" is not a director
file and then gives a second error that the file is corrupted. BUT
if I remove the 's' from the name of the file, so that it is now
called "galaxie.dir", the file can now be added for publishing just
    fine.
I know that it can't be a naming limit because I can add a
file called "galaxies_database" with no problem at all.
I would really, really appreciate the help because to have to
rename the file would mean I would have to change the links of
    about 450 references.
    Cheers in 2008*

    Eeeerhmmm....
Do you have a directory called "galaxies" or something?
Wasnt there something weird a long time ago that Director had
    problems
with a filename if you also had a directory name like it?
    Without the
    extension probably...?
Real memory or was it a bad dream?

  • IWeb wont publish, DESPERATE PLEASE HELP!

So i have gotten lots of suggestions on whats wrong with my iweb but nothing is helping and I really need to update my website.
    I have tried....
    1. Publishing to MobileMe, Does not work, get the message that says can not connect check your connection and try again.  Connection is fine tried this aobut 15 times
    2.  Publishing to FTP, no such luck.  That says check your log in information or whatever, everything is fine but also not working.
SO, Totally at a loss.  Can someone please tell me what to do, even from scratch.  I have hosted a website here for the past 2 years not sure why it suddenly does not work, im sure its just something small and stupid that im forgetting or not doing.
BASICS ARE - Created a website on iweb, own my domain name through GoDaddy.
ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE SAVE ME!

Okay, so do you actually have a MobileMe account and did you sign up for one?
There is no point in trying to publish your site via ftp if you do not have a hosting account with GoDaddy, but you just have your domain name with them - this will not work anyway and is why you are getting ' check your log in information'.
If you have a MobileMe account, then go to System Preferences and log out of your account and then try signing in with false details and this sometimes clears and resets things and you can then log in again with your proper username and password and it should work.
Please answer these questions first though - do you have a MobileMe account and is this where you are trying to publish?
Do you have a hosting account with GoDaddy or just your domain name?

  • Iweb wont publish picture borders wont show and mp3 in html snippet wont publish.

    Hi all,
    I'm new to this forum,
I'm following www.iweb for musicians.com website design, Roddy the man is ace.
I'm trying to publish my site with borders and flection on my first page and also a HTML snip box with a code for a mp3.
It all shows up and plays fine in my iweb program but when i publish to a folder then upload using a 3rd party ftp, these additions dont show up.
It's kind of like its maybe not 'saving'  correctly in iweb and not publishing correctly?
    Any help greatly accepted.
    Thanks,
    Paul
    iWeb 3.0.4

    iWeb always publishes correctly.
Since you paste the code in a HTML Snippet it is your responsibilty to make it work correctly.
My guess is that you also need to upload the mp3 file. So check that first.

    Hi zbaker,
It seems that something wrong with your SSL certificate or its settings.
Please, take a look at the following articles. Probably, they help you:
SharePoint 2010 and Cert Trust – Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel
Installing Workflow Manager failed with : Could not establish trust
relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel
Or alternatively if it is not a production environment, you can just register Workflow Service to HTTP protocol and port (not HTTPS). So, your cmdlet could look as follows:
    Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite ‘https://myhost/mysite’ -WorkflowHostUri ‘http://workflowhost:12291’ -AllowOAuthHttp -Force

  • ICal 2.0.2 wont publish to Windows 2000 Server

After upgrading to Tiger, I am no longer able to publish an iCal Calendar to a private server which works perfectly on 10.3.X / ical 1.5.5.
I'm running OS X 10.4.2 and iCal 2.0.2. I am trying to publish to a Windows 2000 server running IIS. When I attempt to publish, I see the dialog box which says, "Publishing <Calendar Name>"... The progress bar gets about 75% across and holds for a while. Finally, I get an error dialog which says, "Publish failed for calendar <calendar name>. -- Request to <hostname> failed after trying for 30 seconds."
Now, I KNOW the permissions are set correctly on the server for two reasons. 1.) I can get it to work from 10.3.9 with no problem at all. And 2.) Under Tiger, if I try to publish this calendar, and there's already a .ics file on the server with the same name, iCal deletes it! It certainly wouldn't be able to delete the file if there were a permissions issue.
So, iCal 2.0.2 does a GREAT job of deleting a calendar on the server, it just won't write a new one. I have even checked the Event viewer on the Windows 2000 server. I'm auditing successes and failures of all events and I see nothing to indicate that it's having a problem.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
    -Chris

    I'll reply to myself here...
WebDAV between ical 2.0.2 and Win2000 Server just does not work. This used to be a problem in earlier versions of iCal. That's where "FTP iCal" really came to the rescue.
They finally fixed it, but now it seems to be broken once again.
"FTP iCal" lives once again as "FTP iCal calendars." I guess I'll be using this little gem until Apple fixes iCal AGAIN. Here's the developer's site in case anyone else is interested.
