Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click Restore button of iTunes.

Try force iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • My ipod is displying apple logo and wont start up, hard reset leaves it the same, disc mode works but iTunes doesnt "see" it even if the computer does.

"My ipod is displaying apple logo and wont start up, hard reset leaves it the same, disc mode works but iTunes doesn't "see" it even if the computer does."
It worked two days ago fine, for two years, until I installed this newest iTunes update, then for one day it kept on freezing and going to apple logo screen mode, then today it only goes to that screen and wont start up at all.
I've tried the hold down two buttons hard reset, that doesn't help. I've tried disc mode... but iTunes doesn't "see" it even if the computer does.
This is a pristine ipod, never exposed to adverse conditions, never dropped, never wet, and it worked perfectly two days ago.
Can I factory reset it somehow? (considering itunes can't "see" it)
[Ipod classic 160gb less than two years old.]

Looks like I might have found the solution on a youtube comment:
    R.O:
"Plug into you laptop first, whichever set up you use that has iTunes, i know it won't read it, don't even open iTunes as of yet. Do the typical reboot "Menu +Center button at the same time" and hold it, DONT LET IT GO like we were told, when the apple pops up.. KEEP HOLDING IT it will make a new ding sound I've never heard before. and since its hooked to you laptop already an error message pops up and says apple will need to download something to repair your iPod. I when u see that that when i let reboot buttons go. hit ok on the laptop something downloads for like 20 seconds then the iTunes icon hops around when you open it it has a screen with an iPod classic on it and says "Software version blah blah, iTunes will check for an update on such n such date" AND FINALLY there's a "Restore" button. click that and you will be back to square one with your iPod. Renaming , adding all the music on it, but it will work again, finally. "
I had to do it twice, because my mac froze the first time, but its recognized it now and is downloading the software as we speak...
Now I've clicked the restore button and it's restoring... I'll post again if its a success, otherwise assume failure.

My iphone 3g is stuck on the apple logo and wont even turn off, or connect to itunes. what do i do?

    I've got the same problem.
I wanted to download the new itunes version for iphone but it got stuck. I had no choice but disconnecting my iphone. Then I couldn't sync it anymore.
I switched off my phone by holding down the sleep button but it has never successfully switched off. The round thing still turns.
I've tried to connect it back to the itunes. This is the error message I get: itunes can't connect to the iphone. Code 0xE8000065. I tried to find out what error message this is but the apple support site I saw didn't mention this error code.
    Can anyone help? Thaaanks!

  • My ipad is stuck on the apple logo and wont return to the home screen. I plugged it into my itunes but I don't know what to do from there. Can someone please help?

Hi, I'm having trouble with my Ipad 2. I was recently playing a game and my ipad just shut off on me. Then when I turned it back on it was stuck on the Apple Logo and it won't go to the home screen at all. I plugged it in my itunes but I don't know what to do from there. I left it charged hoping the apple logo would dissappear but it didn't and now for some reason the battery is always dead.  I really need help. Does anybody have any suggestions? Please.

Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Mac Mini won't boot past Apple logo and spinning wheel

    Hello,
I have a Mac mini (late 2009) running 10.8.2. Today, I tried to log into the computer. It accepted my username and password, but then the screen turned gray instead of logging in. I left it like that for about twenty minutes, then gave up on waiting and Ctrl-Command-Power rebooted it. It then wouldn't reboot: it gets to the Apple logo and spinning loading wheel, but won't go past there.
So I went into single-user mode and was able to access the HD fine. I ran a filesystems check using the recommended syntax (/sbin/fsck -fy, I think). It said that the volume looked okay, and that it had been modified. I took this as a good sign (that it had been repaired) and typed "reboot" to restart the machine. I held Command-Shift-V to perform a Verbose Safe Boot.
The computer makes no further progress after the following four lines:
    vboxdrv: fAsync=0 offMin0x809 offMax=0x2bc3
    VBoxDrv: version 3.2.12 r68302; IOCtl version 0x140001; IDC version 0x10000; dev major=34
    VBoxFltDrv: version 3.2.12 r68302
    VBoxAdpDrv: version 3.2.12 r68302
I'm assuming all the instances of "vbox" are in reference to Oracle's VirtualBox VM. I do have VirtualBox installed, but haven't used it in a while (months), so I don't see why it's suddenly causing a problem.
To clarify, the computer doesn't "hang" after these lines: I can still type text into the terminal. The entire log is being saved to /dev/console, so I could probably grab it from Single-User Mode if necessary.
Everything else seems to be working properly: even the wl0 drivers are loaded.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this, or at least disable VirtualBox so the computer can start?
    Thanks!
    WC

    Cult of Mac post:
When the Apple Logo appears your Mac has found a valid system disk, and Mac OS X begins loading.
    Apple Logo with Spinning Gear
Once the spinning gear appears the BSD kernel (Darwin) has assumed command and begins loading device drivers.  Shortly thereafter it transfers command to the almighty (and controversial) launchd process.  Such are the workings of UNIX.
What this means for us mortals is that when a Mac stalls at the Apple logo or the logo with a spinning gear, it probably has a corrupt Mac OS X installation.  It may also be having trouble accessing an internal or external hardware component, but this is less-likely.
Rebooting your Mac in Safe Mode can sometimes get things working well-enough that a second, normal reboot then works normally  Hold down the Shift key at startup to boot in Safe Mode.  DiskWarrior is also worth a shot (this is by far my most used disk utility).  If that doesn’t work, an Archive & Install may be needed.

  • IPad 2 won't get past apple logo and various other problems...

I knew I shouldn't have updated to iOS 8, my iPad was getting increasingly slower with each software update since I bought it a few years ago.
A few weeks ago the first problem arose - the home button suddenly became unresponsive. Initially it would work on about 1 in 10 clicks, but then nothing at all. I managed to get to settings to turn on accessibility features and the gestures to replace the home button so that wasn't much of problem, just annoying. I tried various things online that people claimed fixed this issue but nothing happened.
Then about a week ago it suddenly wouldn't wake up in the morning. I tried turning it on and it would get to the apple logo and stay there for a couple of minutes then go black again. I plugged it into iTunes and restored it etc hoping something would happen but of course nothing did.
And I obviously can't reset it on the device itself due to the home button being completely dead.
I left it for a few days then today I came back to it and tried to plug it into iTunes again and now iTunes won't recognise that it's plugged into my macbook at all.
Basically does anyone have any advice or should I just accept that it's dead at this stage and give up? Let me down gently!

  • Wont boot past apple logo and no spinning wheel

My macbook a1181 wont go into safe mode and wont boot from cd. The hard drive is working perfectly in my other macbook but wont boot in this one. The only thing it will do is go to the apple screen and there is no spinning wheel under the apple.

Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
Troubleshooting advice can depend on that information.

  • Screen replacement and iphone wont turn on past apple logo help please

I can connect it to iTunes and it said sn # N/A and when i go to restore and update it will say i think error 9 or 6  and error 27 or 29 then is will show and blue screen on my iPhone 5s and then it will shut off.

  • Computer wont boot up past apple logo

my computer has recently stopped booting up and wont get past the gray apple logo screen unless its off for a while...however when it does it just freezes up and I start this process all over again...any suggestions?

Being that it is Lion, you have a Recovery HD that you boot into in order to run Disk Utility. Hold down cmd-r while restarting and it will boot into the Recovery HD. From there you can run Disk Utiility and repair the disk.
You should take it in to Apple again. The odds of you getting two bad drives are pretty slim and I would imagine something else is causing the problems and killing the drives.  If you can make it through exams and still get it back to them under warranty, you might consider that. Make sure you point out that you had brought it in before and they replaced the drive. If this drive is also, bad, make sure they look for other problems such as the logic board.

  • Phone Keeps FLASHING Apple LOGO and wont work with a power source.

When I was doing the update something happened on my iphone 4 and now the phone wont properly turn in and keeps flashing the apple logo (also it wont even charge in a power source). What should I do?

I think what you are describing is what happened to my iPhone. I was updating my software then after it was 'done' it just started flashing the apple logo every 5 secs. What I did was I connected my iPhone to my computer via USB then I pressed and held both the top and the home button for about 15 secs then released the top button while continuing to hold the home button. Then I followed these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Then, in my case it said that it could not restore my iPhone. If that happens to you, too, I suggest you follow these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
I hope it works for you, too.
