Wont turn on /blinking red led

Hi all, have my xperia z3 for about two weeks, not rooted, not unlocked, without any modifications. Yesterday before sleep it was with more than a half of akku, today as im woke up and got it in my hands it was off, im plugged charging cable, was thinking maybe the battery was drained, but nothing happens still, its just blinking red (led).
Was trying to hold power + volume up, nothing.
Reset key near sim dont works for me either - i'm just notice 3x vibrations and thats it, its just repeat vibrate 3x times again and again but nothing happens, no boot.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

  • Q10 wont turn on. Red LED 1101111 blinking.

    Hi All,
Just updated my Q10 to 10.3 via the carrier update and after half a day my phone turned off and now it wont turn back on again.
When I press the power button the yellow LED comes on and after that the red LED blinks in the following sequence 1101111.
Tried all the usual tricks. Battery pull, plugged phone in without battery, plugged into blackberry link, used original charger/cable, hold power button down for 10 seconds etc...All don't work.
Any ideas would be much appriciated

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I cannot quite tell if you have done exactly this or not...apologies in advance if you have. Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs. If it fails, please try again but increase the wait time in step 4 to 2 hours, and perhaps as long as 4-5 hours.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
It is also possible that the OS update caused this. Due to the number of problems with "upgrading" to this OS level, I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader OS Reload:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...
Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)
Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Z10 won't turn on and red led blinks 4 times

    Hi all,
Yesterday my BlackBerry Z10 suddently turned off, I turned it on again and it worked fine for a few minutes (battery was around 90% full), then it turned off again and I couldn't turn it on anymore! The red led is blinking 4 times with a 3 seconds interval between each 4 blinks sequence. I tried to charge the battery, connect it to the computer, turn it on without the battery (with charger on), with no success. Sometimes, it shows the BlackBerry logo, or even the logo with the % loading, but then it turns off in the middle of the process, on random percentages.
Does anyone know what happened to the phone and how to solve this issue?
    Thanks!
    V

Mine keeps turning off... I called them and they told me to send the phone to Blackberry by mail to check what's wrong and that when the phone gets there, they do a complete evaluation and in 30 days they send the phone back... In other words, I have to buy another phone! Blackberry assistance is useless...

  • Blinking red LED

My blackberry is dead, i was updating it and something went wrong and i got an error then it turned off and never turned back on it just keeps blinking red.  I have a 8330 curve from sprint.  Please any help would be nice.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This is the best solution!!! I tried it and it worked.
    1.  Take out the Battery and plug in your Wall Usb charger to your BB.
    2.  Wait for the hour glass to be displayed on the screen.
    3.  Re-insert your battery.
    4.  The Battery will start charging and everything will work just fine.

  • GX620 wont turn on ac adapter led is dim and stutters on and off

Hi a friend of mine is trying to sell me his msi gx620 notebook but like the title suggests its dead and the led on the charger doesnt seem to be working right which would lead me to think that i just need to replace the charger. He said he always kept it plugged in and never ran it off battery then let it sit for 2 days and it was dead all of a sudden and wont charge anymore and wont turn on.
What does everyone think would most likely be the problem and how best to go about it.
    thank you

one more thing even if the battery is shot on the notebook as long as it is powered by the charger it will still work right?
Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on the charger.
im really hoping thats all it turns out to be.
Is there anything else i can quickly asess on the machine  in order to figure out whether this thing will work great for me or be a piece of junk. maybe run a cpu or gpu stress test assuming im able to get it to turn on.

  • My BlackBerry Curve 8520 Wont Turn on With No LED

My Blackberry Curve 8520 Wont turn on and there is no LED flashing, i have tried pretty much everything and nothing seems to be working, tried a new battery, tried using the USB and the mains charger, tried leaving to charge for 8 hours, is there anyhing i can do to fix it myself as i dont have themoney to replace the phone or pay for a repair
    PLEASE HELP ME
    Thank You
    Nathan

    Hey hakmilton,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest contacting your network service provider to look at possible repair and exchange options.  Since you tried a new battery and the LED won't come on, we can not even try reloading the device software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • 2008/9 Mac Pro wont turn on, front pannel LED is constant white.

My mac pro doesn't want to start up.
I purchased some new memory installed it (and cleaned up some of the dust on the inside of the box) and now the machine won't boot up. I get a constant white LED on the front, no fans, no chimes, no other lights light up (RAM riser boards)?
I have removed the new RAM and replaced it with the old, in an attempt to just get the machine to boot. No luck.
So now the box is back in its OEM state, but still wont boot. I've tried the 15sec unplug / hold the power button down for 5 sec rest and that didn't seem to work.
Any idea what might be going on?
I also swapped out a known working RAM riser from another box and still can't get it to boot up?

    Thanks for the help...
I'm pretty sure thats it... MacPro3,1.   I can't really tell as stated above the machine wont turn on so System Profiler is not really an option.
The new RAM is DDR2 and was selected using Crucial's memory selector.  Although, I'm not even using it at this point.  The only RAM in the box right now is the RAM that came with the machine in the original DIMMS. (Riser A DIMM 1, DIMM 2, Riser B DIMM 1, DIMM 2) 1G DDR2 Apple OEM RAM per DIMM.
The box's basic specs are  2x4Core Intel,  4G RAM, nVidia Gforce.
No, I haven't used AHT...are there instructions / manual somewhere?  Does it use two machines? Maybe I'm missing something here but I'm not sure how to run something on a machine that doesn't turn on?
    Edit:
I think its a 2 x quadcore... not 2 x 8. I looked up the system profiler of another mac we purchased with in a few weeks of this one.
Here is the system specs for that machine, which probably match this one.
    Model Name: Mac Pro
      Model Identifier: MacPro3,1
      Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
      Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz
      Number Of Processors: 2
      Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per processor): 12 MB
      Memory: 4 GB
      Bus Speed: 1.6 GHz
      Boot ROM Version: MP31.006C.B02
      SMC Version (system): 1.25f4

  • Installed Latest update - now it wont turn on - just flashing LED

    I need help please!
I had my phone since Feb this year.  It's been great overall.  I've had a few problems with it overheating and draining the battery, but not consistently.
Anyhow, on Wednesday evening, I did a little looking around and found there was an OS update, so I ran it.
Ever since, my phone will not switch back on.
The LED is flashing, but not like before, this time the flashing has a pattern to it:  One long flash then five fast flashes.
I don't know what this means....  Obvs I can't get any details off my phone because it wont switch on, so please don't ask me what the update was...
I need help - there's obviously power there, because the light is flashing.
I've tried removing the battery, sim card and micro SD and none of this has helped.

This is a an error message, (you probably already realised that), there seems to be no published list of what these mean but I had a similer problem on one of the early Dev phones.  Then the solution was to drain the battery then do a series of longer and longer charges.
However my suggestion now is to autoload an OS and see if it get's you past the problem.
If you can't even get to the boot rom stage to install the OS, then come back and I'll dig out what the solution was mentioned above.
Autoloader info can be found here...

  • KT6V Wont Boot. 4 Red LED's

I have the KT6V mobo and its just decided to pack up on me for no reason.. The manual says 4 red lights means the CPU is dead but i tested that and it works fine. I read somwhere that this could be a corrupt bios and can be recovered by downloading an uptodate bios and sticking it on a floppy and then press and hold ctrl and home on the keyb and it will load the bios from the floppy... But ive tryied this and it did nothing, It didnt even try and read the floppy drive. Does this mean my mobo is DEAD?? and i have to get a new one?  If it is dead what would cause it to just die like this? If you want to know what i was doing before it died..
I changed some settings in the bios, disabled on-bord audio changed to 8 usb ports, and changed the FSB fromm 100mhz to 167mhz so my cpu would run at the right speed.
I hope someone here can help me out, I really cant afford to get a new mobo.. plus theres not many SKT A mobos about these days.

That is a very good idea!
Though it'll add to the burdon, and it is not 100% certain it is the reason for your problems, you wont get much out of the board with 10A on the 12V-line. The current PSU must be as worn as it's label. It is even hard to imagine it coming with a P4-connection   :  :   , for the processor.
If you borrow or even buy one the magic numbers are 30/30/18, but as Grayone says you might get away with a little less.

  • Phone wont turn on and red light flashing 5 times with pause/s in between

i was charging my phone, after 30 minutes i unpluged the plug from the mains and typed in my password. from there on the phone went completely blank and all i was seeing was a red light flashing. I charged the phone for 12 hours and now i cant see the red light anymore. The only time i see the red light flashing is when i use the usb or the phone charger. At the moment the phone is completely blank i cant switch it on. Also ive tried using the usb which didnt help my laptop doesnt recognise it neither does the desktop manager.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Without the use of the charging port, tests will be more difficult, and results less definitive. Nevertheless...this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note please that "known good" and "new" are not necessarily the same thing...while rare, a new battery certainly can be defective. The best (and, btw, least costly) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
If the result is that your BB is the issue, then you will need to seek out a local (to you) shop with a qualified BB hardware technician to give you a proper evaluation and estimate. If you remain in warranty, you could instead seek support under those terms (assuming your warranty is not void).
Good luck and let us know!

    -Bbogie

    Hello bbogie,
Remove the battery from your BlackBerry and connect it to your Mac. The connection can take up to 30 minutes to establish.
If that fails, you can use a windows computer to try and reload the software as shown in KB10144
You and download the Windows version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager as well as the software for your BlackBerry from your carrier's download site here.

  • When I wake up, I have email, but no flashing red LED!

Last night, I plugged the charger into my 8900, saw the clock displayed, and went to sleep.  When I woke up this morning, I had 4 new emails and 2 text messages, but the LED was still blinking green, not red.  Had I not looked at the 8900's screen, I would not have know there were messages waiting for me.
I searched the forums on this issue, and came across one post which said exiting the bedside mode by bypassing the clock application's "Exit Bedside Mode" option can cause this.
All I can think of, is that I might have set it to Bedside Mode (which turns off the LED) and then pressed the MUTE button to put it in standby.  I remember seeing the message dialog box show up saying the phone was entering standby mode, but the message never went away.  I cleared the dialog box by pressing the red End Call button.  I think the phone may also have exited Bedside Mode at that time, or I may have manually exited it via the clock's option.  My guess is that this is what caused the LED not to flash red after receiving messages.  Unfortunately, I've been unable to replicate the error using this method, or any combination thereof.
    Any ideas?

The blinking red LED blinks ONLY for about 15 minutes after receipt of a message or email. Unless you had received the email and SMS in the 15 minutes prior to your waking, there is no reason your LED should have been blinking.
