Wont turn on, not recognised, wont reset

My 2nd generation ipod touch was working fine last night, until suddenly the screen went black and turned off. It was fully charged but i plugged it into the charger anyway but nothing happened. If i plug it into my computer it is not recognised and does not show up. It will not turn on and I have tried to reset it but it wont work. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring. See:
