Wont turn on or reset

My ipod mini wont turn on or reset. When I plug it into the computer simetimes the battery sybol will show up and sometimes the screen will be completly blank. I have tried this with different cables so I now the cable is good. a couple of weeks before this started, it would stop when the battery showed that it was still chrged. I bought it a little over a year ago. HELP..

Sounds like this iPod needs a battery replacement. Don't rely on what the battery meter tells you.

  • Ipod wont turn on without reset

My ipod won't turn on without reseting it. This problem just started occuring about two weeks ago. If I reset the ipod, it will turn off and on for a couple hours, but then the problem reoccurs. I have already reflashed the ipod firmware, and that did no good. Is their anything that I can do? Should I return it? Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. The ipod is ok for a couple of hours but if it's left for any amount of time beyond that a reset is required to start it up every time. Normally this is when it's left over night. I was wondering if the guy who had this problem managed to fix it with a Restore? My other problem would be that the ipod was purchased from Amazon in the US and I live in England. Will an Apple shop replace it for me if this problem is unfixable? The ipod is around 10 months old

  • Iphone 4 wont turn on after reset

I restored my iphone 4 because it said I had a problem with itunes. Now it has been over 30 minutes and it still wont turn on. The screen is black with a little light to it (if that makes sense)... Nothing happens even if I plug it in, or try to turn it off/on.....

Try holding the Home and top button together for at least 20 seconds.

  • Touch wont turn on or reset. Computer doesnt recognize it either.

I bought a 3g 8GB touch from someone for almost nothing because it is broken and he couldn't fix it. I have tried everything I know to do, letting it charge for while to see if it was a battery issue and soft resetting a few times. I tried 6 times back to back and still nothing. I would try hard reset but my computer wont recognize the ipod. Nothing shows on the screen, no battery or apple logo. I tried the apple call back thing but when they called it was just a bunch of static.

Since you cannot get any response out of the iPod Touch whether it is on screen or on your computer it is clear to me that there is a circuit issue. This may include a bad battery or a bad circuit board. No way to tell whether the person you bought it from dropped it in water or something like that.
If you are still curious then you can take it to the Apple Store and see what they tell you.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My i phone 4 just went blank for no apparent reason and now wont turn on

just bought a new verizon iphone was using it just a few minutes ago and set it down. when i came back to it completely blank screen wont turn on or reset and isnt even recognized on my computer.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!
If that does nor work, more sure battery I charged and if it still does not work go den the route of putting your device ino are cover mode -

  • Ipod mini wont turn on or charge

I really need some help with this one... i recently got my 2nd gen blue ipod mini replaced by apple and the new one they sent worked for approx 3 days and now wont turn on or reset...i figure the battery has run flat but when i plug it into my usb the charging battery comes up on the screen but is stuck on the 1st bar and wont move...i have tried resetting the ipod while it is plugged in but the charging battery symbol goes away for a second and comes back. What do i do?!?!?

It may be that your USB port is not delivering enough power to charge properly. Try an AC adapter or car charger, or USB on another computer.

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace

  • 1st Gen. iPod touch wont turn on. Home button doesn't work. Can't reset.

Hi there.  My 1st generation iPod touch wont turn on.  The battery has drained completely, and the few times this happened in the past, I could just reset it by holding the home and top buttons, the iPod would turn on, I could plug it in, and then it would charge--no problems.  However, now the home button does not work, so I cannot reset it. When I plug it in to the charger, the Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears.  Also, if I hold the top button for about 2 seconds, the same thing happens (Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears).  So, it doesn't turn on, wont reset due to the home button not working, and can't connect to the computer or iTunes.  However, it still has some life in it because the Apple logo always appears when it's plugged in or when I hold the top button.  Can anybody help?  Thanks.

If the iPod still has its original battery, it could be that the battery finally bit the dust.
