Word 2000 with SolMan and EWA issues

Hi,
Having a number of issues. It seems since updating SolMan to SP24 EHP1 i cannot open EWA reports in Word 2000 (updating to latest version is out of the question due to business politics). I have tried a number recomendations from OSS notes but none work. I get this error message when i select standard or short version
Required file not found -> see long text
Message no. DSVAS813
No usable file was found for the active Office version in the report defintion.
Procedure
Processing cannot continue.
Please notify the person responsible for this session type or for the SAP Solution Manager, specifying the session number, session group, session type, version number and the number of the message short text.
To find session information, in the Service Session Workbench, choose Goto -> Technical Information. Specify the Office application and version (which you can find by choosing ? -> Help -> About... ) and the number of the message short text.
To create a message to SAP, choose Help -> Create Support Message.
The issue can be resolved by changing the report definition in the Service Session Workbench or importing a newer version of the session definition.
I am not sure how to change the Word version in technical Information, it seems not so "helpful" help page and how to change the report definition. Any help on this would be appreciated
I also needed to know how to send previous SAP EWA reports. The landscape is setup to send the EWA reports to SAP on a monthly basis and i need to change this to weekly. i have had a look at the EWA setup operations and it is active and all boxes are ticked.

Hello Mani,
You can send the data for ABAP system to SAP and process the EWA reports and they can be accessed via your
Service Market Place inbox, if that was an option you were seeking. How to do so, you need to follow SAP Note 207223.
The periodic SDCCN EWA task can be scheduled to recurr weekly.
EWA data on Satellite ssytems is usually only available for the past 3 weeks, as there is no intent to store the data.
Of course any EWA report can also be opened (click the link on the left side in DSWP) in HTML, so this could be a work around to get any existing or furture EWA reports generated on your Solution Manager system.
Unfortunately, because Word 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft, there is little that can be done now, that you are on Word 2000, and have upgraded to an SP level that no longer supports Word 2000. This is your issue.
However I think I have provided some alternatives to get the reports.

Fed up with speed and connection issues since exch...

Last Monday BT done some upgrade work at our local exchange. From that point onwards we have had speed and connection issues.
I use a Belkin G Router rather that the Homehub some that we can run a printer through it and that is plugged in to telephone socket via an extension. But before we blame any of that we have gone back to the Homehub2 so we could see the difference and there is very little.
We live in the countrside so broadband speeds are not great in any case. About 1.8 mg I guess but we have always had no problems. It was good enough for us and we could watch Iplayer.
I was getting fed up with drop outs and speed and yestereday an Openreach guy came out tested everything could not find any problems apart from speed. He made some calls and was told our band width had been capped. He had that removed and yesterday evening speed was a bit better.
Today just as bad again.

Your high noise margin will have a major impact on your speed
If you post the full stats from your router
For homehub – type 192.168.1.254 into your browser
Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it
Click on More Details and then post the full results.

Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

create empty movieclip and place drawing code in it. drag
movieclip with code in it to stage. create new layer below

I have been dealing with crashing and freezing issues on my iMac for 6 months. A supervisor has been assisting me but the issue is not getting fixed. The computer was under when the issues started. He wants to get us a new computer but is not allowed.

Our iMac was under warranty when it began freezing and or crashing. I have spent several hours on the phone with a supervisor and had the machine in 2x. We have also had a repair done in our home. The problems persist. We feel apple owes us a new computer. Help!!!

Do you have a written record of your attempts to get it repaired? When you took the machine "in" for repairs, did you take it to an Apple Store or to an Apple Authorized Reseller or Repair Facility, and do you have copies of invoices or statements showing what repairs were made? If the answers are yes, you need to be persistent in attempting to get a new computer. Ask to talk to the supervisor's supervisor to "escalate" the complaint to a higher level. Get copies of all your repair information and send a letter to the Apple Customer Service people in California and ask them for help.
If your iMac was under warranty when the problems started and the problems have not been resolved, your position should be that the problems should still be fixed or the computer replaced even though the warranty may have expired in the interim. Do you live in the US? If yes, your home state has a Consumer Protection agency. File a complaint with them and ask for their assistance in mediating and/or resolving the matter.

Dual boot with archlinux and windows issue

Hi again!
This is what i did from the beginning :
windows was already installed and then i installed archlinux after shrinking the windows partition . I made a partition for boot , one for swap and one for root(i wanted to do for home too , but only 4 primary partitions are allowed) . I made the boot partition bootable , and so was windows bootable and i got the message that there are two bootable partitions so it couldn't write the partition table . So removed the bootable tag from windows and left only the boot partition bootable . I then installed the grubloader to boot partition and then i edited that grubmenu and uncomment the part where windows was like it says in wiki. After restarting i could see the menu to choose between archlinux and windows , i chose windows , i succesfully logged in and after restarting again i couldn't see the grubloader and i automatically logged in windows .
Does anyone know what might be the issue ??

yes i only have one hard rive , i managed to find a solution not that elegant though , i 've installed acronis os selector from windows and i can choose between windows and linux with acronis on boot . If i choose linux i get to the grub menu and i can choose between arch linux and windows . So it seems that the grub menu is still there but it doesn't appear when i boot for some reason .

Word processing with superscripts and subscripts.

Is there a word processing app for the iPad yet which does superscripts and subscipts?
(Discussions on this subject were posted on this website about a year ago, has the no superscipt button and no subscript button problem been fixed yet?)

I've found a possible solution to insert equations and formulas without Latex or copy/paste images, only with Pages for iPad and without internet, using Pages tools. So, I have some examples of Pages documents. If you want to take a look them, give me your email and I'll send you an example.

Word wrapping with JTextPane and styleDocument

I have a JTextPane where i add a styledDocument.
If i fill this with text it doen't word-warp the text!

Since you are simply appending text to the Document you should not be using a type of "text/html".
If you need further help then you need to create a [Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE)|http://homepage1.nifty.com/algafield/sscce.html], that demonstrates the incorrect behaviour.

Importing a large MS Word file with tables and graphics into InDesign CC

I have a large (300 page) Word file, either doc or docx and I'd like to import it into InDesgn to convert to a Kindle book. I'm very new to InDesign.

Linked Word doc with headings and the TOC

I'm relatively new to RoboHelp, so bear with me.
I'm linking in a Word document that is being maintained by others. The document uses Heading 1 styles for auto-numbered chapters, thus:
1 Some topic
lorem ipsum, etc
2 Some other topic
lorem ipsum, etc
To get the 2 chapters into my TOC I create a book from the page and configure my SSL to use that TOC. So far, so good - the TOC appears as I desire. WIthin the document, however (I'm generating PDF) I get both the book name and the heading that is embedded in the text, thus:
1 Some topic
1 Some topic
lorem ipsum, etc
I'm just not seeing how I'm supposed to set this up so that I can avoid the duplicates, given that I really want to stay linked to the original word document rather than just doing a one-time import and then manually editing the resulting html file.
I'm using v9 on Windows 7.

So let me get this straight. You have a Word document. You suck it into RoboHelp to create HTML. Then you create a completely different Word document using RoboHelp that is then used to create a PDF.
Why not simply create the PDF from the original Word document? Seems more straightforward to me.
Your present workflow (using an analogy) is like this: You are baking a cake. You take the flour and eggs and milk and blend them and bake the cake. Then you take that baked cake and break it up to try and get flour and eggs and milk back out of it and you dislike the fact there are all these crumbs to deal with!

Is there a way to convert a Word document with Red and Black into Spot colors in Acrobat X?

Customer sent us PDF files created in MS Word. Of course, Word creates CMYK versions of colors. I need the red text and black text converted into spot colors for 2 color output on press. Is there a way to do this? I saw another thread that said there is a Fixup in the Print Production/Preflight section of Acrobat X that has a convert to Spot, but I'm not seeing that. All I see is Convert to CMYK. I'm using Acrobat X 10.1.13 on OS X. Any help would be appreciated. He also sent the Word docs so I can drop that into InDesign and reformat the whole thing and fix the colors myself but if I can do it in Acrobat, that would be a lot quicker. Thanks!

Frequently in this scenario the red will be 100% of either magenta or yellow with 0% black. In these cases you can merely plate the Black & Magenta (or yellow) for press.
I've created a Preflight Fixup on occasion for these also.
An example shown - Note it requires the document is cmyk. MS Files will be rgb. You could create a Preflight looking for rgb colors.
With Fixup tab selected - Options > Create New Fixup > Type of Fixup - search for Spot in the field

Challenge for all of you with SL and printer issues

I have an iMac with an Epson Stylus C-88+. Let's try an experiment. Pick a sample web page, in the Title Bar, go to File/Print, or Command-P. Go to the lower left hand corner, you have the purple question, then"PDF"/ Click/ "Save as PDF"/ Click. You should be able to find a copy of that website where you save documents in pdf. Because this is all within the machine, there are NO connectivity issues. I failed both in printing and pdf. Anybody out there have better luck?

John Blanchard: Sir, try it for yourself and come to your own conclusion. Each situation is different. I am beginning to think the problem is not just be the printer / print driver, but just may be 'Snow Leopard'. Apple needs to become more involved, not just the printer companies. You write, "Are you saying that saving to PDF doesn't work?" All I'm saying is this, "For me, it did not work. You must explore the situation to determine the functionality of your own individual system. For me, earlier on Saturday, I was printing through the printer AND printing to disk (PDF). I later did a "Software Update" including Epson Printer Update. Later in the morning, I went back online and was going to print a disk or PDF, but it would not function. I called AppleCare and explained the situation. The Tech told me to try my printer, I ask him "Well, what are we going to do?" This is the first time I discovered the problem was also with the printer. The Tech said, "YOU are going to call the printer manufacturer and inform THEM of THEIR problem." I said, I didn't get this update from Epson. I got it from AppleCare!" AppleCare wants us to keep our systems up to date. Well, I've got an updated system that is also (REDACTED). Terms not acceptable for a discussion board!

Trouble with 4G and other issues after latest update.

To whom it may concern,
After the recent update I have been having the following problems:
I lose 4G in many places where I was receiving great 4G access before.
Battery life seems to have suffered a little, this may be due to 4G hunting.
New software applications were installed like the Caller ID app, and flipboard. I hate when software is installed without my authorization and then cannot be removed. What year do we live in Verizon?
I have heard on this and other forums that a factory reset does not resolve these issues but Verizon claims that it is the final resolution. We should not have to do a factory reset after an update. I understand that there are many variables to consider with all the apps out there but that is what testing is for. That is why we wait for updates from Verizon.
I will attempt a factory reset to resolve my issues. If this does not resolve the issues I will be contacting Verizon about a refund for the 4G access that I am now being denied.

The year is 2013 and I read you loud and clear on wanting to make sure your software operates smoothly on your GS3. So, let's make that happen.
Right off the bat, thank you for the details as well as considering a hard reset. But, I'd like to make another recommendation if you have yet to do it. Instead, I'd suggest wiping the cache partition. To do this:
1.) Power off your phone.
2.) Simultaneously hold the volume up key, home key, and power key.
3.) When it vibrates, release only the power key.
4.) When you see the Android recovery menu, wipe cache partition using the volume down toggle and power key to select.
5.) Then select "Reboot System Now".
Please let us know how this goes.

Can't format cloned SSD that stopped booting in my MacBook Pro. Disk Utility always posts an error with mount and unmount issue. Any clues?

Is there any way I can reformat a cloned SSD that was used to upgrade my original HDD?
It suddenly stopped booting (a progress bar always appeared followed by a shutdown)
I've tried to reformat the SSD via USB case, and using Disk Utility, but it keeps on send error message with unmounting issues.
Any clues as how to overcome this problem?

Have you connected that drive to another computer and if you have can you do anything with it on the other computer. If not then the drive has failed.

SSID with WebAuth and iPhone Issues

Cisco Wireless Users,
Have anyone setup a basic SSID with WebAuth using LDAP/ACS for authentication working with the iPhone? I been having a couple of users getting the âUnable to join the networkâ error message. Have you gotten this error and if so what did you do for the fix? I'm running version 5.0.148.0 on my 4402's.

What type of encryption are you using.... is it ope with WebAuth. I have not had an issues with iPhones not being able to connect to WebAuth on any of my recent installs.... I use my iPhone for testing so I know it works.
I also think you should either downgrad to 4.2.176 or upgrade to 5.1 or 5.2. 5.0 is one of the worse codes out there.

Nokia 500 Wi-Fi with problems (and other issues)

Hi there.
I had my Nokia 500 yesterday, but it seems to have several problems regarding wireless LAN. I usualy disable 3G traffic (WAP, GPRS, UMTS), so that my service provider doesn't charge me, and only enable with when necessary. But I want the phone to connect to known Wi-Fi networks when avaialable. However:
1 - When I enable "Only WLAN" in my country, several phone applications constantly annoy me about "no avaialable connection", even when its connected to a Wi-Fi LAN!
2 - Its constantly searching for wireless networks, and the Wi-Fi connection is intermitent. It fails and then it comes up all the time. I could not finish the download of a GPS map because the Wi-Fi would fail before the download could finish. And it only had 1 known Wi-Fi network avaialable.
3 - So I set it to use only WLAN, I set "WLAN energy saving" to off, "search networks" to "once in 30 minutes" (and not automatically), and Manual selecion of WLAN. Even like this, the WLAN connection sometimes fails, and then comes back!
Also, I cannot install software directly from OVI Store using WLAN (error downloading), and the phone crashed several times while recognizing and focusing a face using the camara.
I am trully disapointed with the phone. Does anyone have a solution for these problems?

You may want to check your battery and battery contacts. Make sure that a Centro battery has not been installed in this device as it is slightly smaller and will not maintain pressure on the battery contacts.
You can try placing a piece or 2 of paper behind the battery to make to contacts tighter. A loose battery can cause most of the issue you are describing.
