    Word 2003 and Acrobat 7, 8, and 9
    Original paragarph in Word:
"After you select the user account that will host the gold image desktop virtual machine as discussed in <cross-ref>Creating User Accounts</cross-ref>, log in as that user.  Next, use the win4-install-win5, win4-install-win7, or the win4-install-linux command to install a Windows 2000/XP, Windows 7, or Linux virtual machine, respectively, as discussed in this section."

I cannot figure out how and why this is happening. Any ideas?

What I'm talking about is how the paragraph *completely changed* for no reason. It's happening in more than one place.

I tried turning cross-reference links off in the PDF, no good. Other suggestions?

  • Word 2003 to PDF Not Exporting Page Numbers, Other Data

I'm having a weird problem with converting Word 2003 docs to PDF. After the conversion, my PDF does not display page numbers. It shows them as {PAGE}, like the formula or macro for page numbering is not working. I've seen a similar problem with inserted dates. They show up as {DATE}. I'm using Acrobat 9 and have tried both the Adobe PDF>Convert ot PDF menu and printing to Adobe PDF. Both have the same results. HELP!

This is very generaic issue that chang the flow of document while converting MS Doc to PDF. After googing and testing different software I found a PDF Converter, that converts 100% fine copy of Doc to PDF. Watch the below tutorial to know how it works.
It is also featured on CNET free downloads here.

  • Word 2003 to PDF. How??

    Hi Guys
This could be question you have been asked a zillion times. Here I am at it again!
One of my client is using Word 2003 and I need to convert a Word document created on the fly into a PDF file.
Though I know this works like a breeze on a PC having Office 2007, but how on earth do I do this with Office 2003???
    Thanks in advance
    Suhaib

You can open the the Word Document directly in Acrobat, i.e. using the OLE Command AVDoc.Open(),
Acrobat Distiller will automatically do the conversion for you on opening the document and all what is left for you is to save the File!

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Problems converting word 2003 to pdf

When I print word to pdf, the resulting pdf document has missing text and paragraphs.  The only way I seem to be able to fix this is to uninstall and reinstall the original software.  It is driving me mad.  I have done this about 20 times now.
    Can any one PLEASE help.

    Hi there
It doesn't seem to matter how I do it, whether it is creating pdf by file print method or convert to pdf.
It also happens when I print as pdf through MYOB.
Windows XP Professional with SP3, Word 2003 with SP3 as part of Microsoft Office Pro 2003 and Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended - Version 9.4.5.236.
Am getting pretty desperate.  Would really appreciated your help.
I have attached a page for your reference.  All the coloured rectangles should contain text as per the first.

  • Import bookmarks from word 2003 into PDF

    Hello guys,
my english is not the best but i will try my best :-)
    My enviroment:
    Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with XenApp 6, Office 2003 SP3 and Adobe Acrobat 9.
    My problem:
I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 without Adobe Tabs / PlugIns for Office.
One user write a document in Word 2003 with many bookmarks. He try to convert the document into a PDF. But after converting the bookmarks are not included in the PDF.
He try to convert the document over the PDF printer and in Acrobat over create -> pfd from file. Both ways are not working.
So now my question: Is there any way to convert a doc into a PDF without using the Adobe Tabs / PlugIn for Office?
    Thanks a lot.

    - Open Word 2003, you should see a "Adobe PDF" or "Acrobat" menu item.
    - Select the option to change preferences
    - Select the Bookmarks tab
    - Select the option to convert Word Bookmarks

  • Converting Word (2003) to PDF?

I need to convert a Word file (2003) to PDF.  How do I do this?
I have both Reader and Acrobat on my computer.  I tried Acrobat but it downloaded the file as another Word file not the PDF I need.
    Thanks.

A PDF printer is a virtual printer that is installed when you install Acrobat (not Reader). Instead of printing to a physical printer, it creates a PDF instead.
So you would do exactly the same thing that you would do to print the document but you would select the PDF printer instead.
Another thing to look for is in the toolbar of Word you "should" see a little PDF icon (maybe two). You could click on that to create a PDF as well.

  • Word 2007 to PDF conversion

    Hi,
when I save a MS Word 2K7 document to PDF, it opens in PDF with a yellow background. Has anyone else experienced this, or know what the problem/solution is?
    thx.

    > What is the difference between acrobat distiller and acrobat distiller server?
Licensing. If you want to run Distiller processing on a server, or
otherwise to produce files for more than one end user, the normal
    Acrobat license does not work.
    >And also need the trial version installation for distiller server.
I don't know if there is such a thing.
I notice this topic is about Word to PDF conversion. If you want Word
to PDF conversion on a server, Adobe's LiveCycle PDF Generator might
    be more suitable.

  • Word document to pdf conversions

We have an application written in delphi. We need to develop an automated process to convert word documents to pdf format. I was wondering what was the best way to do this. Thanks.

The Acrobat SDK only offers that type of conversion API to plugins (written in C/C++).

  • Convert Word 2003 to PDF from command line

I've had a good look through these forums, but can't get a definitive answer to this question:
Can I use Acrobat Pro to convert a Word 2003 doc to PDF using the Windows command line?
We have an automated report generation process which creates a Word doc. This tends to have lots of TIF images so the Word doc can end up being >15MB. The batch process, run from the command line, then converts the doc into a PDF using PDFCreator (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/).
The problem is that the PDFs are then >15MB, which is too big to email to customers (that's also part of the batch process).
However, if I take the same large Word doc and save it as a PDF in Acrobat Pro, then the PDF is only about 2MB. So Acrobat is doing some more compression than PDFCreator. I've tried all the options on PDFCreator, but I can't make the PDF as small as the Acrobat version.
Any idea how I can get Acrobat Pro (or Distiller?) to convert a Word doc to PDF from the command line?
    Thanks,
    Johnny

    No.

  • Can I convert Word 2003 to PDF using Command Line

    Hello All,
We have a document generation tool which generates documents in Word 2003 format. The document generation is initiated by the user and the process of generating document is on a remote server. The word file is sent back to the user in word format.
We would like to convert this doc file to PDF/A format. And we would like to do it programatically, may be using command line arguments. Is it possible?
Realistically, it is not possible that all the users will have Adobe writer installed in their desktops. In this case, it is possible that Adobe writer is installed in a server and the documents can be converted remotely using command lines?
Your support on this will be very helpful for us.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Links not converting from word 2003 to pdf

I am using Word 2003.  A fellow worker made a few changes to the document, which including inserting information into the word text and changing heading etc.  Now when I attempt to convert to PDF not all the links works.  The links created to return the reader of the document back to the index (which are set up on all pages) are not working.  I had a similar problem before but I dont recall what/how fixed it.

How are you creating the PDF (a lot of info missing here)? You need to use PDF Maker to get the links.

  • Convert Word 2003 to PDF?

    Hi,
We are looking to convert Word to PDF but our Word files are in the 2003 format. This link says that only Office 2007 and 2010 are supported for conversions: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/11.0/Services/WS92d06802c76abadb76c48dfe12dbeb3e281- 7fe7.2.html
Is there any hope for us? Is there a work-around? Is 2003 supported but not listed?
    Thanks!

In LC ES4 only 2007 and 2010 is supported.
You can open the doc of 2003 in office 2007/2010 and save it.
Now this will become compatible to LC ES4.
You may see some cosmetic issue in this conversion due to change in office 2003 to 2007.

  • Acrobat Pro XI V11.0.2 - Word 2010 to PDF conversion fails to generate header text

    Hello,
Following the recent update to V11.0.2, the Acrobat PDF converter for Word 2010 fails to generate the output document correctly. It misses out the text box part of the Word header.
However, using Acrobat XI via the "Print to PDF printer" appears to generate the output file correctly.
System is Windows XP-SP3 with Office 2010 (and all current updates), plus Acrobat Pro V11.0.2
Example Word source and resulting PDF are available, if anyone can figure out how to use this web interface to post examples.
    Colin Butcher.

    Hello,
No, there is no change in behaviour on my Windows XP machines, nor would I expect there to be given that there has been no change until V11.0.3 was released.
Given that you’ve reproduced the problem, albeit on a different machine, it seems reasonable to assume that the problem is related to Acrobat. If you can reproduce the behaviour, then you should be able to fix it.
The problem still exists with V11.0.3. I look forward to it being resolved shortly.
    Colin.
