Word attachments in emails can't open.

When someone sends me a Word document in an email, I can't open it on my IPhone or IPad. The only open that appears is to open it in an app called The Vault, which is an app to save passwords. How do I fix this?

In addition to various 3rd party apps, Pages for iOS should be able to open many Microsoft Word attachments. You may find the following article helpful:

I use iPhone, iPad and G5 receiving emails generated from a PHP written system hosted on 1and1. I cant open PDF or Word attachments on any emails. The attachment's file names are displayed at the bottom of the email with no link. No problem on Windows Outlook. Is it me, 1and1 or the PHP system!? Word Web App (2013) can't open this document ... Because the service is busy

I have just set up Office Web Apps Server in a SharePoint 2013 test environment as per document here:

Although I had some issues with Excel Web App at first, I've solved this and excel seems to work ok, However, the Word Web App just sits there spinning and ultimately give the error dialog:
"Sorry, Word Web App can't open this document because the service is busy. Please try again later" The Same link as above has a simple solution :
Did you install Office Web Apps Server on a domain controller? Office Web Apps Server cannot run on a domain controller. Office Web Apps Server must be installed on a separate server that is part of a domain. For more information, see

I certainly did not install on a DC - its a standalone server.
ULS Logs are growing by 2K per second even when I am not doing anything on the server.
VERY FRUSTRATED!

So after further research we have found the following:
Un-bind and unindstall Web Application Server
Clean Server
Reinstall (by Mistake to the C: Drive)
Bind and Provision
WOW it works!
Un-bind, deprovision, Uninstall, Web Application Server
clean Server
Re-install to the D: Drive
Provision and Bind
wow - it DOES NOT work
Again - repeat the first scenario
and once again IT WORKS
SO Why doesn't it work on the D Drive - We've checked IIS Setting and Permission - there don't seem to be any differences.
SO - Why isn't this working when changing the default installation location, is it just me? Has anyone gotten this working installing to another drive?

Microsoft Word Attachments in email?

I cannot get any Microsoft Word document attachments to open in my email on my iphone 4s. They are all .doc or .docx. I click on the attachment, and it will change for a second, but then nothing will happen. PDF attachments open no problem. Am I missing something? Thanks!

some pdf file open in ibook if not then install a pdf reader from itunes and also install for the .docx file

Cannot openand download Office Word attachments to emails

By simply clicking on the attachment a Word document cannot be opened, any more. At the bottom of the e-mail receive data about the document: its name… But the program can open Excel file ‘normally’. I have reinstalled Firefox but the problem remains the same.
The document cab e opened as a Web Page or when saved as a link.
I could open the document with Crome and IE without any problem.

What webmail site you do use (e.g., Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook)?
Many Yahoo users have reported problems with attachments if they access their mail using an old address (old bookmark, old home page address). To ensure that you use the latest server, try accessing your mail through your yahoo.com or att.yahoo.com home page.
You might also double-check that Firefox knows what to do with DOC and DOCX files on other sites. For example, you can try some documents from microsoft.com using this custom Google search:

If you have the same issue on other sites, check the setting in the Options dialog:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Applications panel

Using Firefox and BigPond email, can't open email links when in a web page page.

In Australia - Victoria. Using Telstra Bigpond as email/internet provider. When browsing web pages with email links, cannot click on the link to open the email link. It says, no default email program exists. Email works fine outside of a web page. Can anyone help?

This is my 3rd email: Can not open my account with password

Firefox will not accept my password. I have reentered it: 8 characters, number and upper and lower case, no symbols. Cookies accepted. I have used my old ID and opened two more accounts to access your help desk. This is my third email account I have used to open. Imac-when pressed command H, word doc was locked .can't open. What to do?

Working onimac in WORD with a big document. When I pressed command H the doc went to its folder on desktop and will not reopen. How do I fix that , ie make it reopen.
What did command H do? when I click on the doc it will not reopen.
I may have hit control H like on a PC (to bring me to the top of the first page= home).
If so, how would I fix that . Need to open a very big doc and keep working.

Command-H hides the document. Command-Tab brings you back to Microsoft Word. Your document isn't lost. You just simply switched to the Finder. In Microsoft's infinite wisdom, they didn't make command-H the same as minimize, and hence why you are probably lost. It doesn't minimize the window to the dock, which would make it easier to access. Don't use command-H unless you really want to hide and switch applications. This discussion explains alternatives.

Urgent-Mail is frozen on a group email-can't open, close, delete...

I am running Maverics now and when i try to send a grup email, I get a response that I cannot send a message saying "Cannot use the server smtp.gmail - The server "smtp.gmail did not recognize the following recipients" and then it lists every address that I use time and time again with no problems. In addition, I cannot dlete this page, I cannot get into my mail because this page is blocking it. I have tried rebooting, etc and it is still there, blocking my ability to use mail.
1) How to I get rid of this?
2) If one adress is no longer valid, mail will not send to the others and I get this frozen page again and cannot use mail. How can i send a group mail?

Word doc attachments to Outlook emails fail to open

Word attachments to emails received in Outlook fail to open (no response when click on "open"). Problem occurs once Acrobat 9 loaded
If saved still cannot open from the saved file. Problem removed by unistalling Acrobat.

Should have just right clicked on the file and selected the open-with option to chose WORD. Apparently you did something to open a DOC file in Acrobat sometime and the association was messed up.

Nokia 9300i and e65 won't open word attachments

I have a problem opening word documents created with office 2004 for mac on my two nokia smartphones 9300i and e65 when I email (with Mail) them as attachments to the phones.Please note that:
- no problem opening emails with these word attachments on Windows PCs.
- no problem opening these word files on the phones when sent to them via bluetooth.
-no problem opening word attachments whwn emailed to the phones with a PC
- and finally, no problem opening these word attachments on the phones if previously emailed to a PC, saved on it and then emailed backed to the phones.
- I checked the two phones with nokia after sales service and all related email settings, the devices are al ok.
It may be a problem connected to the 10.4.11 update.
Can anybody help?

Can't open links in email. Displays "blocked content, can't open".

When opening any link in my email account, it will not open. All links open in other browsers but not Firefox. No attachments, links or anything else within the emails can be opened. The message says that it can't open anything up because of a "blocked" content.

If the images are blocked click on the link to view them, if you consider it safe.
I expect the rest of the message provides additional information, along with the url of the url your on when you see the message.

OTM can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx)

With more and more use of Word Document(*.docx) (version 2007). OTM (Oracle Test Manager) can create an attachment with it, but can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx). Is this a problem for anyone else? Any wok around?

I am using OTM version 9.2 and the Word document (*.docx) attachment can be opened in this.
For being able to open a docx file, try to attach an word document from the file option in the Requirements, Test or Issue tabs in OTM , once you upload the file, please check if location is " in Database" Else click update DB and upload the document.
Once the attachment is attached to the Attachment section in the right pane, clicking on the attachment will open the *.docx document.
This has worked for me.
