Word Claims someone else is editing my document

I have a document stored on a network. I move it to my hard drive to work on because of how slow the network is. When I go to save the document one of two things happens:
1) I get told that someone else is editing the document, except there isn't anyone else editing the document.
2) I get a message saying that I have read only access, but nothing turns if off.
In both situations I have to resave the file with a different name. Which isn't working, I now have multiple versions of documents in multiple folders when all I want to do is edit the document on my hard drive and then move it back into the network
folder.
What do I do?

The following steps you can try:
1. Convert the document to a .docx file and check the result。
2. If the document has been marked as final, please cancel it through File > Info > Protect document.
3. Is the document’s Store random numbers to improve Combine accuracy box checked? (Click the File tab > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Option. In the Document-specific settings section, check the Store random numbers
to improve Combine accuracy check box.)

If you want to move the document to other library immediately, the following workarounds for your reference:
1.Create an Event Receivers for document library and use SPFile.MoveTo
method to move file to the other document library.

Word Web App can't open a document (corruption) but Word Desktop can

Hi,
My team and I are currently working on integrating a custom WOPI-Host and everything is going pretty good. While testing out different documents that will be used in the system to see the supported features and the reaction of Word Web App we found
a document that is problematic.
First things first, we took a document that was in Word 97-2003 version (.doc) and converted it in Word Documents (.docx). We had to actually use the Word Desktop Convert functionality because using "Save As" wouldn't work. We found
out that the document had Custom XML Data which was the reason that the "Save As" didn't work. So we did 2 version of the document in docx version. One that kept the Custom XML Data and one that didn't have it.
Now when we try to open the documents in the Word Web App, both trigger the same error: "Sorry, Word Web App can't edit this document because it appears to be corrupt.". What I don't really understand is that I can open them in the Desktop
version of Word without any problems. Also, if it was simply the Custom XML Data that would prevent Word Web App to open the document, how come the version of the document without these Custom XML Data is still considered corrupted by the Word Web App.
If needed, I can send the documents in question (probably by email since I don't see an option to attach them to this question).

I understand you can't open the Word documents from Word Web App, but may I know how you converted them? What is that "Word Desktop Convert functionality"? Would you please detail the steps of the conversation?
When you try the "Save As" method, any prompt or error? Can you keep saving just ignoring the error?
Before the conversation, I suggest you try removing the hyperlinks in the original .doc document, then convert the document to .docx format, check if then it can be opened from the Word Web App.

Are you able to select the text in Word by triple-clicking inside the text box? (Sometimes text selections can be tricky in converted files.) If you can't select the text, then I'm guessing that the PDF was created from a scanned file (so the text becomes images). Make sure that OCR is enabled when you convert the file to Word. OCR is enabled by default in the ExportPDF web interface, but can be disabled in Adobe Reader. If you're converting to Word from within Adobe Reader, make sure that OCR is enabled and that the correct language is selected:

Hello, I have to edit a form that was created by someone else. I made numerous changes to the text and repositioned a lot of the items, and it appeared fine on my computer. However, when I open it on my PC and other systems, the fonts are substituting and I'm getting strange characters where I changed the text. I tried embedding the fonts with the Preflight embed fonts, but it is still messed up. My client is anxious...not sure what else to check. Any help would be appreciated!

You don't need to re-do the fields. If you create a new version of the PDF
file just open the old one and use the Replace Pages command to insert the
pages from the new version over the old ones. This will give you a new
version of the file, with the existing form fields still in tact. Of
course, you might need to adjust their location and/or size, but at least
you won't have to start all over again...

Not with icloud. You can email it to them or use some other sharing service like Dropbox.

You can't get rid of an alert. The least you can have is one that says "none".

Why does someone else's document show up in my Pages App?

Why does someone else's document appear in my Pages app? I did not create this document, and it is in another language. it is an essay on 101 Geography, then there is another document that is "Note Taking" and it also is in another language. Neither of these documents were created by me and my Ipad never leaves my hands. ??

Is this problem only occurring with the project you copied from an external drive, or with any FCP project?
For example, if you were to create a new project, do you still have this problem?
In FCP, if you go to the menu FInal Cut Pro > System Settings and look at the Scratch Disks Tab, is it set where you expect it to be? Have you tried switching the scratch disk to a different disk?

Allow edit only user's rows, not someone else's

as you know the option make Form and Report brings a report editable. Is there any way using that option to modify the report to make it non editable?
OR
more interesting, that only the user can edit his own row, not the rows of others. That is, there will be different users logging in separately and each willl be adding a row. is there a way one can edit only his row while he has no access to someone elses ?

maybe there is smarter way to make it, but I used to do it using CASE statement and javascript. I don't have working code, but that's the idea:
1. In your report you have column with creator name - you use it in your SQL CASE statement like:
SELECT some_columns, CASE created_by
WHEN :APP_USER THEN '<a href="#" onclick="goToEditMode('||report_id||')">EDIT</a>'
ELSE '-'
END
"EDIT" FROM your_tableNow if current user has created specified record, edit link appears in EDIT column.
2. You must add hidden field (P_HIDDEN) to know which row has been selected to edit and javascript function that submits the page:

$x('P_HIDDEN').value=report_id;
doSubmit('EDIT');
</script>3. Last thing is to create branch that takes you to EDIT page when 'EDIT' request is sent by javascript function. Don't forget to set P_HIDDEN value to edit page in order to know which record is edited.
