Hi Rachel,
Have you tried reinstalling Microsoft Word? Have you tried reinstalling Office? Have you run any updates recently for Microsoft Office? There was one that came out this week. You may wish to ask this question over at the Microsoft Word forums, there's a good chance you'll get a better answer as well. This forum is primarily designed for the MacBook Air hardware and interoperability with OS X on a MacBook Air.

As HDMI is the only supported method there will no guarantee with any converter.
DVI doesn't tranfer audio so you would have to either go through optical to connect speakers, or use a DAC in connection with analogue speakers.
Also, unless the TV is HDCP compliant you will be unable to play protected content (ie iTunes, Netflix)

  • I have a wired keyboard which won't work with my MacBook Air unless I use the extension cable supplied with the apple keyboard. Is this normal or have I got a connection problem?

I Have an apple wired keyboard which suddenly won't work unless I use the apple ext cable supplied with the keyboard...used with the wire fixed into the keyboard it just won't respond.  Do u think the keyboard is faulty. ? I want to use it with my MacBook Air and a big screen.

My best guess is that either there's a small deformation of the USB plug of your keyboard or some foreign matter (like lint) inside the keyboard plug. When I was setting up my new lab last year I had to use the extension cables and I found that the female end of the extension cable was considerably tighter than the computer's USB port. If an Apple store is nearby it would be worth taking the computer, keyboard, and extension just for piece of mind.

  • I just downloaded Firefox 4. None of my bookmarks will load. They are all still listed, but they won't load. I downloaded 4 again and still won't work. I really don't want to go back to IE ...HELP!!

I have Windows Vista 64 bit.
I click on the bookmark and the address comes up on the bar, but it doesn't open. When I go to Internet Exlporer the website does work.
In addition, before I downloadedI loved playing Yahoo gin. But the new Firefox does not load it.
I love Firefox, but it looks like I'll have to go back to IE.
I've downloaded Firefox 4 again to see if that helps. It doesn't.
I'd like to go back to the previous Firefox and download that. This 4 is a pain.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you!

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Mountain Lion and AppleWorks 6.22 ... will Appleworks still work in this ??  I'm used to it and like it ..... but would like Mountain Lion very much

does anyone know if you can use an old program like APPLEWORKS 6.22 and ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR 10 with the new MOUNTAIN LION.... I am very fond of my old programs and like them and don't want to loose them ......  OS 10.6.8 still accepts APPLEWORKS and also ILLUSTRATOR and I REALLY LIKE these older programs..... they are all I need

AppleWorks 6 running in Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed in Parallels 7 in Lion:

Snow Leopard (with Rosetta)  installed into Parallels 7 works in Mountain Lion, as well:
IF THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY! It is up to you...
Hence, most ANY PowerPC program can be made to work in Mountain Lion if that is important to YOU!  I do not use it often, but my version Adobe Illustrator (PowerPC version) works here as well.

  • My Apple ID is incorrect in my iPhone. Did the "settings...store...tap ID shown...signout...sign back in using correct ID and the incorrect ID is still appearing when I try to sign in at the Apps Store...Help!

My question is this...My Apple ID that appears in the AppStore log in is incorrect. I have tried the recommended "Settings...Store...Tap ID shown...sign out...sign back in w/ correct ID/password multiple times.  When I go to the Apps Store to log in, the incorrect Apple ID is still displayed...have contacted Apple support numerous times and none of the suggestions offered have worked...Help!

I had the same thing happen today on my wife's phone.  I couldn't find any answers on the support site and of course I could not get any help from Apple since my phone was old.  I kept digging and figured out how to fix the problem.  I opened the app store app and signed out of the old id and then signed back in using my new id.  It looks like this may have fixed the problem.

  • My MAC won't connect to the internet anymore. I have ran the Diagnostic check and other computers are able to connect but my MAC no longer will. Please help.

Please tell me what I need to do to fix this problem. It was working fine yesterday and now today that is not the case. Thank you.

I had the same issue! My 24"  2008 iMac was working perfectly. Yesterday I used my BootCamp partition and when I went back to my Mac OS I couldn't connect to the internet!
The computer looks like it's connected but it won't navigate at all! I tried to verify the network settings and when I tried to do that my System Preferences app hang-up. I had to Force quit it and reboot the computer couple of times to double check.
Then I run de Disk utility to verify the disk & permissions and the scan result was that the disk was not repairable, I had to make a timeMachine backup of my personal data and completely format my HD including the BOOTCAMP partition to reinstall MAC OS 10.6 and all the updates and everything and now Everything is working perfectly.
I first tried to only format my MAC OS partition and reinstall but there was another error that the insallation couldn't be completed. Then I completely erases all partitions and erased all the files and I was able to reinstall everything in a couple of hours.

  • Why has Facetime stopped working on my MacBook Air?

FaceTime has stopped working on my MacBook Air.  Whenever I try to initiate or accept a call, the screen reads "Connecting" for a few seconds, and then reads "FaceTime Failed."  I called Tech Support and they were less than helpful.  They said that "perhaps" I need to check for software updates.  I did.  I downloaded an update for OS X.  I then restarted my computer.  Big surprise:  FaceTime still doesn't work.  Any ideas?
I've also heard that certain iOS users are also having FaceTime trouble, but Apple has been keeping very hush-hush about the issue.  I'm ready to chuck this stupid piece of crap out of the nearest window and go back to using PCs.

    Hi,
This issue may occur due to conflict with certain software\driver such as PDF add-ons or default printer software.
To resolve your issue, you can follow the methods below to delete the corresponding registry:
    1. Click Start , type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
    4. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes.
    5. Exit Registry Editor.
    6. Restart Word

  • Media controls not working on my MacBook Air

    Hello everybody,
I purchased my Macbook Air 11" almost two years ago and after updating it to I think it was leopard at the time, my media controls stopped working for iTunes. I didn't think much of it since I barely used those keys but after I wanted to use it more and they still don't.
I am currently running Yosemite 10.10.1
If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it!

    Hello adil523,
It sounds like your Function buttons aren't usable to control your iTunes playback on your computer. From what you describe it seems that you should be able to toggle this funciton in your System Preferences for your keyboard:
How to change the behavior of function keys on your Mac
By default, pressing one of these keys performs the special feature indicated by the icon printed on the key. For example, pressing the keys with speaker icons adjusts the volume.  If you want to use one of these keys as a standard function key, hold the Fn key (usually in the lower left corner of the keyboard) while pressing the function key. Pressing Fn-F10 (speaker icon) performs the function assigned to the F10 key instead of toggling mute on or off.
If you prefer the top row of keys to always behave as standard function keys without holding the Fn key:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
From the View menu, choose Keyboard.
Click the Keyboard tab if it is not already selected
Enable "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys."
With this option enabled, the top row of keys acts as standard function keys (F1 - F12). To use a feature indicated by the icon printed on a key, hold Fn while pressing the key.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling
