Word numbering hebrew

Paragraph numbering in HEBREW-word i.e.
when you come to 10, 11, 12 etc to 19
when turning the word document into a PDF the numbers then show as 01, 11, 21, 31,41, etc to 91
not normal numbers, only in auto-paragraph numbering.
Is there a pdf solution or fix to this problem?

For any useful suggestions or an answer you will have to provide more clarity.
First - There is no such application as "Acrobat Reader XI Standard".
There is the free Adobe Reader. However, Reader cannot do what you desire.
There is the "pay for it" Acrobat XI (Standard or Pro).
Export of PDF page content is possible with Acrobat Pro releases (at least as far back as the Acrobat 8.x product family).
AFAIK Acrobat XI Standard also supports export (File - Save As Other - ...).
An alternative -- The online subscription services hosted by Adobe at "acrobat.com".
Either the ExportPDF or the PDF Pack subscription service may do.
As to localization (the language) -- for the online subscription services that's a question for the services' customer support.
As to Acrobat - I guess that if all applications (and OS) that are in play are localized to the desired language you might be good to go.
The key is apps that'll do the right to left thing eh.
Be well...

• FrameMaker autonumbers RoboHelp Word numbering?

Is there some way to configure RoboHelp to convert FrameMaker autonumbers to normal Word numbering? By default it's converting them to static text.
MIF2Go will convert autonumbers to SEQ fields, which is of course the way experts handle numbering in Word, but in this case Word is just a transitional format between FrameMaker and Confluence, which converts Word numbered lists to
but converts SEQ fields to static text.

• Acrobat 9 Coverting Words/Numbers to Jibberish

Thank you for your help! My Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard is covering documents with some words and numbers in jibberish. What are the updates I need? I tried to obtain Acrobat 9.1 updates but it said this was not compatible with my system. I have a Window platform purchased in 2011. I had unstalled and reintalled my Acrobat 9 but the jibberish is still there.

Use ctrl-D and check the fonts that are listed. Are they all embedded? Is the Win7 system 32 or 64-bit?
Can you open Acrobat and go to the help menu to (1) do a repair and (2) do updates?
If you download updates, you generally have to install them in order. Some may be skipped, but you have to start with the latest updates and work back to find which can be skipped. The manual updates are available at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. If you do the manual updates, you only need to reboot after the last one.
As for compatibility, AA9 works fine on the 32-bit version of Win7. I have not tried it on the 64-bit version, but assume it would work if the updates are in place. Usually the problems are with the printer, not the program itself (I have actually run AA7 on the 64-bit Win7 and the only problem was the print driver.

• Before downloading latest number update, words/numbers were auto memorised and suggested as soon as you started to type a word or number. This no longer happens. How do i switch this facility back on? Thanks

Before downloading the latest update I was able to insert part of the word or number and a suggestion was automatically created if I had used that word before. This no longer happens. How do I reinstate this preference?

Hi Nikor,
Instead of waiting for the feature to be re-introduced or going back to the old version, why not try out an enhanced feature of Numbers 3 that is better than "auto-complete" in many situations where you frequently enter repeating values in a column and don't want to type the same text over and over again?
Try formatting the cells in the column with frequently repeating values as Pop-Up Menu.
In many situations, particularly if you want to avoid typos creeping in and messing up your data, Pop-Up Menu has clear advantages over "autocomplete." It is much enhanced over what it was in Numbers 2.3, and is easy to set up:
Select the whole column or range before formatting as Pop-Up Menu and your existing values in that column or range will pre-populate a menu automatically:
Then you can remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:
See this post for more details on how this handy feature has been enhanced in Numbers 3.0.
In Numbers 3.0 there is no keyboard shortcut to activate the menu such as hitting the spacebar in the old Numbers (hope they'll add one in upcoming versions) but the Pop-Up Menu approach, unlike auto-complete, eliminates spelling inconsistencies or lack of capitalization when there should be capitalization, etc.
And should you ever want to take your Numbers with you and do data entry on an iPad or iPhone, in a touch interface pop-ups are much more efficient than typing the first few letters of items. You can scroll with ease through a list of dozens of items to make a pick.
See this thread for this and other workarounds for Numbers 3.0.

• Import from Word-Numbers at end of headings are cut off in the TOC though not in the topics themselv

I'm using Robohelp10, though this has always been an issue in all versions of RH that I've used. I have a document with many headings that end in a particular # (it's a version #)
e.g.
I3DMLFeatureLayer65.
I3DMLFeatureLayers65.
I3DMLFeatureProperties65.
I3DViewshed65.
IAction65.
IAttachment65.
IAttribute65.
IAttributes65
When I import and automatically have the TOC converted, all these headings appear in the RH TOC (books and pages) with the # 65 at the end missing, as such:
I3DMLFeatureLayer.
I3DMLFeatureLayers
I3DMLFeatureProperties
I3DViewshed
IAction
IAttachment
IAttribute
IAttributes
In the topics themselves, the topic title displays correctly (with the 65 at the end).
Has anyone else experienced this/have any suggestions? TIA.

Simply that plans change at this time of year.
I got exactly the same result and at first I wondered if it was because the document had tracked changes in it. I have seen that cause problems in the past and always recommend accepting them, in a copy document if you don't want to lose the tracking.
Accepting the changes made no difference and I would say this is a bug. Fortunately though there is a workaround that may be acceptable. Quite simply, add a full stop (period) or some other character after the number. A space will not work.
The more people who report a bug or request a feature, the more likely it is to be actioned. Please follow this link.

• Convert Word 2007 doc to PDF, numbered bookmarks lose numbering

I've never had trouble converting a Word 2007 document to PDF before. All the bookmarks I selected converted nicely and retained their numbering. Recently my IT department upgraded me to Acrobat Pro X and I'm having several bookmark issues.
1. Some of the bookmarks I select in the Acrobat ribbon --> Preferences --> Bookmarks are not converted and I have to manually create them in the PDF.
2. None of the bookmarks retain Word numbering. I have Word 2007 Headings numbered in the document, but in the PDF, none of the bookmarks are numbered. This is a major pain to edit each bookmark to add the proper heading numbers (1, 1.1, 1.2, 2, 2.1, etc.).
Are these known issues and are defect corrections in the works? Is anyone else having these problems?

I'm having the same problem. As you can see, the number appears in the heading, which came from MS Word, but not in the bookmark.

• Suppress chapter numbering during Word import

Hello all,
I found no solution for this rather basic task yet, any help would be welcomed. Most writers will prefer an online help without numbering in the topic titles, so how can this be suppressed? Robohelp also includes nasty spaces by adding bundles of non-breaking spaces - not very nice.
Of course I am aware that I could remove the numbering in the source document each time, or apply a corresponding Word template. But this would break up the workflow of updating referencerd Word documents.

Regretably RoboHelp converts the word-numbering into plaint text. So when I map a heading to a RH style without numbering, then I receive a topic title with the number as part of the title text, separated by non-breaking spaces.
In the settings for the FrameMaker import I can simply remove the numbering but I have not found anything similar yet in Word.

• Font Conversion issues from Word to PDF

I'm using Acrobat Pro 9 and Word 2007. My Word document has Heading styles with numbers, and a table of contents is built upon the styles. Every font is Arial. When I convert the Word document to PDF, the numbering all turns to Times New Roman, but the text remains Arial. Help. How can I fix this?
Linda

You were right, it was a Word numbering style issue. I have finally figured it out and it appears to be working correctly now.

• Internationalization for Hebrew language

hi,
I made an application, internationalized to be used with some different languages.
Til now I internationalized it only for languages that have Latin letters (ISO/IEC 10646-1)
and in this way it is working fine...
Recently I had a request to put it in Hebrew language, that doesn't use Latin characters.
Reading the documentation, I implemented the localization for the Hebrew language in the
follow way:
Someone wrote the words in Hebrew characters inside a property file (file_iw_IL.properties) ,
afterwards I transformed the Hebrew characters in the UTF-16 mode "\uxxxx", using the
native2ascii tool that come with jdk ....
But when the application for the Hebrew language run, it didn't work...
I should like to know if the procedure that I did for Hebrew
internationalization is right and, if is not, I would like to know what is the right precedure
to make internationalization for languages that don't have Latin characters.
thank you in advance for a kind help
regards

No one answer me so I try again for some help, explain better my problem.
I use this class to get strings in different languages:
public class SupplierOfInternationalizedStrings {
Locale localUsedIt;
Locale localUsedEn;
Locale localUsedHe;
Locale localizedCurrencyFormat;
Locale localUsedHere;
public SupplierOfInternationalizedStrings() { // constructor
localUsedIt = new Locale("it", "IT"); // specifica il file appartenente alla famiglia
localUsedEn = new Locale("en", "US"); // specifica il file appartenente alla famiglia
localUsedHe = new Locale("he", "HE"); // specifica il file appartenente alla famiglia
} // constructor
void setInternationalizationCountry(String langToUse) {
if (langToUse.compareToIgnoreCase("Italiano") == 0) {
localUsedHere = localUsedIt;
localizedCurrencyFormat = new Locale("it", "IT");
} else if (langToUse.compareToIgnoreCase("English")  == 0) {
localUsedHere = localUsedEn;
localizedCurrencyFormat = new Locale("iw", "IL");
} else if (langToUse.compareToIgnoreCase("Hebrew")== 0) {
localUsedHere = localUsedHe;
localizedCurrencyFormat = new Locale("iw", "IL");
System.out.println("linguaggio impostato = " + localUsedHere);
} // initializeInternationalization()
public String getInternationalString(String keyForTheWord) {
ResourceBundle resourceBund = ResourceBundle.getBundle("properiesFile", // il nome del file .properties... la famiglia dei files
localUsedHere);
String word = resourceBund.getString(keyForTheWord);
return word;
} // getStringForMedidentStartClass()
} // class SupplierOfInternationalizedStringsOf course I have a file.property iw_IL - Hebrew (Israel) where for each key there is a value wrote with hebrew characters
the hebrew file property look in this way:
keyForLabel1= ה עברית מילה שתימ

keyForLabel2=ספה עברית מילה שתימ The class SupplierOfInternationalizedStrings works for the translation in english and in other languages that use latins letters ..,
but when it is setted for be used with the Hebrew language ( localUsedHere = localUsedHe)
the metod getInternationalString() don't return Hebrew words.
This didn't worry me, because I read in the documentation that properies file cannot
read characters that are different from latine... and I also learned that in this case it need to convert the letters
in Unicode format...
I made this work putting the hebrew words in an .rtf file and, using native2ascii utility
with the command native2ascii -encoding UTF8 file.rtf textdoc.txt, I got the unicode format.
Now the file property for Hebrew language looks in this way:
keyForLabel1     =       Ô  âÑèÙê...
keyForLabel2 = áäÔ âÑ.....At this point I expected the translation in Hebrew comes good... but instead I still I cannot get the Hebrew words..
I should like to know why the elaboration still doesn't works
and I would have too some help in order to do the program works good.
thank you
regards

• Column with consecutive numbers in Numbers '09

Very simple question -- I did a search for this, but because my query involves the word "Numbers," it returned everything!
Okay, I have a list of 500 rows. I want to add a very simple column in Column A, that simply has "1" in Row 1, "2" in Row 2, all the way down to "500" in Row 500. If I type "1" into the first column, I can't seem to drag the cell down and do that -- it just inserts "1" into the entire column, which isn't what I want.
In other words, I want Column A to very simply look like this:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
etc.
What's the right way to do that? Thanks.

It probably is in the Numbers '09 User Guide, but if you don't know the answer, and haven't developed some good search techniques, it's one you might have trouble finding in the Guide.
John's subject line suggests he'd search using "consecutive" (zero occurrences), "number" (vast number of occurrences) or both words together (zero occurrences due to the absence of "consecutive").
"pattern" works, but I found that out by scanning Chapter 4, finding the paragraph that dealt with this, then using what appeared to be a potent word for a search. "You can also add values to cells based on value patterns" is the first line of a paragraph on page 76 (not 78, which deals with conditional formatting) of the English language edition of the guide.
I for one appreciate that John did a search, whether of the Guide or of this forum, before posting his question. That his search was unsuccessful is not really surprising; the information is moderately well hidden.

Barry

• Hebrew OCR works but spaces and in english - Possible bug

Hello all,
I'm using Acrobat Extended Pro for scanning hebrew content. The OCR features works very good, but when copying the text to Microsoft Word (2003) the spaces (not the words) remain in english. I mean, as Word knows the language of each charactar, it marks the words as hebrew and the spaces as english.
This causes Word to invert the word order in the sentences.
Of course copying first to notepad and then to Word easily solves the problem
Hope it helps
Nitay

Just a thought —
Perhaps the Middle Eastern version of Acrobat would deal with spaces appropriately.
Regardless, while using what is currently installed; try export of PDF page content to a text file.
Open the text file with MS Word. It the result is similar to the outcome of the copy-paste to notepad it might be a little simpler work flow.
Be well...

• HT4910 Can I backup my Powerpoint and Word docs on iCloud

I want to be able to access my Powerpoint docs via iCloud, is it possible?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes you can do that.
You can add word, excel and PowerPoint documents to iCloud via the appropriate iWork application (ie, pages for word, numbers for excel etc) when you do this, they can be opened by iWork apps on mobile device or by iWork or MS Office on a computer.
In addition to this, you can add most types of documents to iCloud through text edit and preview.
