Word stopped working in all identities

have new macbook pro and installed microsoft word. made 4 separate identities for different family members. Worked fine for a month, and today, can only access word from 1 identity. any idea what happened and what to do to fix it?

Perhaps the preferences files have become corrupted. Post in the Microsoft forums as this is third party software:

Make sure that EVERY DETAIL is the same in every place you enter your information

Camera stopped working in all applications on my new MacBook Air 10.8.5 Any help?

My mid 2013 new MacBook Air camera stopped working in all applications, facetime, photobooth and skype. It says camera not found. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Thanks!

I have figured it out! You just have to install the new plug in to your macbook.
Download the AppleCamera.plugin provided.
Click on go in the finder menu, select go to golder and paste in /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/ ,
move that item, AppleCamera.plugin, to the trash
Go to your downloads folder and copy the new AppleCamera.plugin, then paste it in the folder where the old one was.

This may be an indication that your incoming mail server has started treating all of those messages as SPAM, and is deleting them. Try setting those messages go to an outside e-mail account, submit a test submission of your form, and see what happens. It might at least help in tracking down the problem. If you find that the messages go to an outside account, work with your Postmaster to get the messages coming from FormsCentral whitelisted. It might still be something else, but this is something you can try to narrow the possibilities.

Whilst using Word the colourful spinning cursor came up and Word stopped working. I force quit it and now when i try open the file i force quit It dosent open. A message comes up saying Error 1712

Hi, On thursday evening I closed all open windows to do some virus scanning and window washer maintenance. After I was finished I opened up firefox and went back on Ebay and the "My Ebay" window has changed to a totally different appearance and I can't access messages, etc. My AT&T Yahoo email window has also changed its appearance and has selections on it which are new and non operative. They both are now presented as a vertical format and the "My Ebay" window is expanded off the monitor with a blue sliding bar on the bottom and large white areas in the viewing area. I can shrink it down, but I then need a magnifying glass to read it. The opening Ebay sign in window is normal. The opening AT&T sign in window is normal. Also the Google instant search results, which used to appear when I was typing in my search words, has also stopped working. Everything seems to work properly on Internet Explorer. When I double click on the Mozilla icon it takes me to the Mozilla start page and shows me the Google search bar. That is what I normally see. I'm baffled.

(1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
(2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?

Firefox normally accumulates months of history. However, some of Firefox's database sizes are based on disk space available. If your hard drive is very full, Firefox might reduce the amount of history stored.

Word stops working on a OneDrive file

I store my work files on OneDrive. Usually it's fine. However, a couple of months ago I ran into a problem where Word would suddenly stop working on a word file - usually with an error message while saving the latest version. When I tried to reopen the file
it would hang and eventually give an error message. It got progressively worse until it wasn't working with most word files. I spent several days going round and round with various MS customer support groups - office, Win 8.1... Finally I got the usual MS
response for intractable problems - rebuild your machine from the metal up.
Now it's starting again!!!
Just as before, I can open the files on my Windows 7 machine running MS Office 10. Today I discovered that on my Surface Pro, I can use explorer to move a file from OneDrive to my hard drive and it works fine there - no changes whatsoever - just a move.
So, clearly it's a problem of Word using OneDrive. THIS HAS TO BE FIXED AND FIXED FAST!

I've done more research. It turns out that it's not just OneDrive related. Files where this problem arises eventually have the same troubles on my hard drive, dropbox, box, etc. when I open them with the Surface Pro, but not when I open them with Web Word,
my Win 7 Office 10, Google Docs, or with my iPad, or iPhone. The same file opens and edits fine everywhere except on the Surface Pro Office 2013.
The problem arises when I try to open the file. It saves without an error message. It can be immediately opened by my other methods without a problem so it is getting synced. But when I try to open it with 2013/Win8.1 it just hangs. Doesn't matter if I open
it from Word or from explorer. I have changed file names, locations, everything I can think of and it just hangs without an error message. Sometimes I get a notice that the last time I opened it it caused a serious error. Then if I choose open it hangs and
if I choose recover it either hangs or opens a page full of gibrish. Usually after I open it via an alternative method and save it from there it will open on the Surface Pro - usually, and not always.
This doesn't happen on all documents. Even documents in the same directory are not affected and work well. It just picks some documents and, of course, they are always the most critical, must have work.

Personally, I prefer to use scripts hosted on CDNs whenever I can because it makes the web faster for everyone. However if you can't find your plugins on CDNs, then you must download the scripts & host them on your own servers.

WRT54G - wireless just stopped working on all devices

Hi All,
I've had my WRT54G for a couple of years and have my Desktop hard wired (to the router) and 2 laptops and an ipod connecting wirelessly succefully for the past 2 years.Woke up this morning and nothing will connect wirelessly,finding the router is intermitent and when it does it cannot establish a connection with it. I can connect the devices via the network cable directly to the router and all works fine, it's just wireless that has suddenly stopped working.
I have tried 'turning it off and on again" turning WEP off, changing WEP password etc. but nothing seems to work. Im at a loss as to why my entire wireless network/connection has just stopped working?
Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem. This past month or so, the router just kicks my wireless computers off the network. Then I can't find the network at all. My work around has been to go into the wireless setting (via my hard-wired computer) and change the wireless channel from 9 to 11 or vice versa. This keeps the network connected for a day or two and then kicks us off again until I change the channel.
I've looked into the solution previously posted of upgrading the Firmware but I'm having a difficult time doing so. I'm on a Mac and the firmware downloads seem to be for PC. The other problem I'm having is that my model is WRT54GS (no version number). Should I assume this is version 1.0? I think so. Anyway, like I said, when I download the firmware for that unit, it shows up as a bin file (WRT54GSv3_4.71.4.001_fw,3.bin). I then expand it and it becomes a cpgz file (WRT54GSv3_4.71.4.001_fw,3.bin.cpgz). And back and forth, over and over again.
How can I upgrade my firmware on my Mac?

My iPod Touch, gen 4, CAMERA just stopped working. All it does is display a dark screen.

That's it. It stopped working with no apparent cause. No sync, no connection with myPC.
I tried to force it to fix itself by connecting to the PC and syncing, no good.

This has happened several times over the last week, never before. There is no "crash report" for the dates it is happening. The web pages go all white and I get the error message "firefox has stopped working" and Windows closes the pages.

Sounds like you have corrupt backup data, if this occurs from one phone to another. Try restoring the phone as a new device, without a backup. Try using for a day before installing any other apps, etc. See if that improves the battery life. Then try syncing back applications a couple at a time. Something seems to be locking in the processor which is draining the battery.
Do you live in an area where there are Apple Stores? If so, try making an appointment with the Genius Bar to have the device checked out.

I have the latest and greatest Time Capsule and Comcast. Here is the weird thing. If I have one network set up, then occasionally that network will wedge. If I set up a 5GHz and a 2.4GHz network, then one of them (usually the 5GHz) will wedge. I saw this with a previous Time Capsule, Apple said call Comcast. They checked it out and said it was Apple's problem. Apple said maybe you Time Capsule is bad, so I bought a new one. The problem persists.
Tonight it's not complely wedged, but super slow. The 5GHz network is getting 0.45Mb/s while the 2.4GHz network is getting 17Mb/s. Both are coming in from the same Comcast cable modem. Apparently the Time Capsule treats them as separate.
Is it the cable modem or the Time Capsule. I am betting on the Time Capsule, since rebooting it fixes the problem. Resetting the cable modem does not.
Apple is NO HELP at all. They say reset the Time Capsule. Did that fix it? Yes. Problem solved! No, problem not solved. It will happen again in a few hours.
