Word to PDF export - seeing dots within underlines

When I export our Company financial statements from Word to PDF, dots are appearing on the PDF in all instances where there are double underlines within the document.
The weird thing is these dots do not appear on a prinout of the PDF, nor when I magnify the PDF. However, since users log onto our site to download financial statements we have filed in the SEC, they will see this formatting issue.
Does anyone know how to fix this?  I have will gladly send an image to anyone needs to know more, for some reason this forum and not letting me upload an example.
Much appreciated,
James

Correct, the Adobe Forums do not permit attachments (attachments became a spam/security issue back in the day and the option was turned off).
To share a file place at an online facility such as acrobat.com or drop box.
Then share the link in a post.

    Hi Friends,
    I need to hide some words in pdf exported from indd. If I scroll mouse near by that hiding word means that words should view.
    How can i do this in indd file to pdf.
    If any idea about this means please share with me friends......
    Thanks,
    Divya.

    Hi Divya,
    Up to me it is not possible. And already I have seen your old posts regarding this questions. They already mentioned lot of difficulties in that. I hope certainly ther is no way doing it.

    Jongware has clearly mentioned the reasons why it is not possible. The first reason is file size. If you downloaded that file from any site, please try re-downloading it. May be this will help.

  • Embedding reference/page links to external PDF, in Word document before exporting it as PDF...

    I have a substantial compilation of documents in a single PDF file: call this the reference material.
    I am writing a narrative concerning the above using Word 2010, which when complete I will export to PDF, to be included with the above reference PDF, either as a separate PDF or (ideally) combined with it into one single PDF.
    The narrative will include many references to specific pages (ideally views of individual pages) within the reference material, ideally as clickable links.
    The only way I can see to do this is to complete the narrative Word document, PDF it, and then go through the whole PDF narrative document creating page-view links for each of the in-text references, either:
    to the reference material as an external PDF, or
    having combined the narrative PDF with the reference PDF, and then creating the links.
    So... I'm wondering if there may be some slick method of creating the page-view links in the Word document as I go along, in such a way that they would survive the transition when the narrative is exported into PDF. I'm assuming I'm not the first person to need to do such a job!
    (I'm hoping to avoid using pre-set destinations in the reference PDF.)
    Using Acrobat 9 Pro Ext.
    Thank you!

    I will not address the terminal server environment (check the license on that). However, it could be that the fonts the individual is using are not on the terminal server and that is the cause of the failure. It might work to embed the fonts in the PS file (an option in the creation process) so that they are available to Distiller. Based on your comment that it is a symbol issue, that is my best guess.

  • Mac OS 10.6.7 corrupt font on export from Word to PDF

    Hi,
    I have a library of Word documents that use our corporate font: Officina Sans ITC Pro Book. I have previously saved these as PDF using Word for Mac and opening in Acrobat Pro 9 without any difficulty.
    Today however, while Word will export and create the PDF. When the PDF is opened in Acrobat it comes up blank and crashes Acrobat. I have tried exporting from Word to PostScript, but this fails: "Stack:/Font-dict-/ZCYKUX+OfficinaSansITCPro-Book".
    The font is avialable on the Mac. I have validated the font and using Font Finagler I have cleared the cache. All without success.
    One pointer is the additional six digits in the PS log, which is in front of the font name.
    Anyone got any ideas on how to clear the problem and start export cleanly from Word to PDF again?
    Thanks,
    Niall

    Thanks Steve,
    The link described our situation. You are correct: yes our font is OpenType PostScript and, yes I had updated to OS 10.6.7.
    I have been busy reading. For other readers there is a long thread here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2792142&start=0&tstart=0, where I see that you have also participated.
    I have posted constructive critisim to Apple on the OS update. However I don't think there will be a quick fix.
    I will probably downgrade back to 10.6.6, but need to steel myself for the task.
    Thanks also to Larry and Michael!

  • I have small black lines that appeared after I exported from word to PDF. I can't remove them.

    I can't edit/delete the black lines with content editing or form editing (they are not selectable, just like a line that was created in word prior to export), and when I tried to write a white line over it with a comment mark up, it does not show when opened with adobe.
    Further, redaction with a white box erased nearby text or text boxes.
    How can I white out/remove these small lines?
    I'm using Yosemite OS X with a macbook pro, acrobat XI.
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
    Could you please tell is that some specific file in which those black lines have appeared or are there any other files as well ?
    You can try exporting another test file to PDF and compare the results .
    Will it be possible for you to share the file with us so that we can analyze at our end ?If yes ,please share it on [email protected] .
    You could also send us the screen shot of the files ( both after and before export) so that we can have a look how it looks and what is the method to remove those lines.

  • PDFs exported from word printing lighter than the original

    Using Acrobat Pro XI v11.0.09 / Microsoft word 2013
    Hi,
    I have a word document containing text in turquoise (RGB 2,216,240) and dark grey (RGB 127,127,127) and an imported jpeg
    I have created a PDF from this file (Which looks correct on screen) but when I send it to print it is much paler than the original printed directly from Word. I have tried on 2 different printers (same result), new cartridges, printing 'Best' quality not draft.
    NB. The imported jpeg prints correctly, it is only the text and blocks of colour created in Word that are printing pale - i.e. supports that it's not draft quality.
    Interestingly, if I change the colour profile from CMYK TO RGB in my print settings it prints correctly, but this option is only available in the printer driver for one of my printers. This would imply though that the problem is with the PDF and not when I create the PDF from Word.
    (I have tried 'Save As' and 'Save As Adobe PDF' and also printing to PDF with the same results).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is a document we need to send to clients.
    Thanks

    Hi Corrie1000,
    In Word file, click on the 'Acrobat' toolbar:
    Click on Preferences> Advanced Settings > Color
    Under Color Management Policies> Select 'Leave Color Unchanged'. Click on Ok and then click on Create pdf and see if this works for you.
    You can refer to the doc for definitions for the individual Color Managemenet policies and set accordingly: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-conversion-settings.html
    You might also want to refer the Doc: Acrobat Help | Color conversion and ink management (AcrobatPro)  for editing/ converting individual object colors in the pdf.

  • I've just subscribed to Acrobat PDF Export in order to convert pdf files back to Word.  Where is the icon for my desktop.  I don't seem to have the program to do so?

    Where on my PC do I access the PDF Export to convert pdf to Word?

    A very good morning John,
    As far as I have understood, there is no problem with ExportPDF. You might need to check whether the fonts in your PDF are embedded or not.
    For this, open the PDF in Reader/Acrobat and go into File>Properties and click on Fonts tab to check for the same.
    If the fonts used in the PDF are not present in the system, then MS Word may not be able to retain the layout of the file.
    Please check.
    Regards,
    Anubha

    signed up twice for adobe pdf export to word and still not working - anyone else have this problem?

    In XI.
    I can’t just export to word as I have done in the past in one simple click.
    Convert to button is greyed out.
    Now I have to save the pdf file on c drive when I am in outlook…then goto export pdf file…then find file then export to word.
    I bought new computer with windows 8 (which is awful) and then bought pdf export again…
    Any thoughts on how I can get back to one simple click again when I open a pdf file from an email in outlook?
    Thank you,

    Am I missing any settings or should i allocate the memory anywhere?

  • Illustrator to Word to PDF

    Hi Everyone,
    I need help publishing a PDF from a Word document full of diagrams created with Adobe Illustrator CS6. My diagrams are all vector. I am free to export them anyway I like. My Word doc has many cross-references, footnotes and Endnote references and a large table of contents. It is a few hundred pages long, with around 50 diagrams. I would like to preserve the original quality of the vector art and the intra-document clickable links.
    Each step in the process has multiple possible paths, and each path often many options. There are 3 steps:
    1) Export from Illustrator  to: .ai, .pdf, .eps, .wmf, .emf
              optional 1b) Convert (eg. use Acrobat to convert .ai to .doc, .eps or .ps)
    2) Import to Word: drap and drop, file cut and paste,  insert picture, insert object, insert object linked to file, PDF Reflow (Word 2013). I tried them all.
    3) Publish to PDF from Word. Many different paths...
      - Print to PDF:  I have AdobePDF, PDFCreator, NovaPDF printers installed
      - Save as... : Save as->AdobePDF or Save as->PDF or XPS
      - Plugin toolbars: Acrobat->CreatePDF, NovaPDF->Save as PDF, PDF Architect->Convert
    or
      - Save as .doc and convert with Adobe Acrobat.
    I have tried many different permutations. There are 4 possible errors:
    E1 - The diagrams are converted into bitmaps.
    E2 - The diagrams are 'linearised' - curves are converted into chains of linear sections
    E3 - The diagrams are corrupted - text missing, characters changed, dotted lines become solid lines etc.
    E4 - Hyperlinks are lost.
    Here are some results of my tests.
    I see no difference so far between Word 2007 and Word 2013. Results below stand for both.
    There is no difference between Word->Acrobat->CreatePDF and Acrobat->Convert Word to PDF.
    Illustrator -> AI -> Acrobat -> Word almost works, but diagrams are corrupted in various ways (eg. dashed lines become solid).
    When export from Illustrator as EPS level 2, EPS level 3, EMF, WMF and PDF and get different results depending on the path to PDF:
    No links preserved:
    Word->Print to AdobePDF:    Good: eps2, eps3, emf    Bad: PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Print to PDFArchitect: Good: eps2, eps3, emf    Bad: PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Print to PDFCreator:  Good: eps2, eps3, emf    Bad: PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Print to NovaPDF:      Good: -  Bad: eps2 (E2), eps3 (E2/E3), emf (E3), PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Toolbar->PDFArchitect: Simply prints with current postscript printer. One of above.
    Links preserved:
    Word->Save as AdobePDF:  Good: -  Bad: eps2 (E2), eps3 (E2/E3), emf (E3), PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Save as PDForXPS:  Good: -  Bad: eps2 (E2), eps3 (E2/E3), emf (E1), PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Toolbar->Acrobat:    Good: -  Bad: eps2 (E2), eps3 (E2/E3), emf (E3), PDF (E1), wmf (E2)
    Word->Toolbar->NovaPDF:  Good: -  Bad: eps2 (E2), eps3 (E2/E3), emf (E3), PDF(E1)
    So, only the "Word->Print to PDF" pathways provide good quality vector diagrams, but none of these preserve intra-document links.
    Please, anyone have a solution for this?
    Kind Regards,
    MM
    ps. I have:
    - Adobe Creative Cloud CS6 (Illustrator, Acrobat etc. all latest versions)
    - Word 2007 (latest version (SP3 12.0.6683.5002))
    - Word 2013 (Office 365 latest version)
    - Access to a Mac with Word 2011.
    - and I am happy to install any software that may help me achieve my goal.

    Hi,
    > This doesn't really have anything to do with what formats you use
    How so? Every format produces different results. EPS level 3 is unusable, EMF is unpredictable, and EPS level 2 is consistent, but curves are converted into small line segments. If I have to choose one, then I need to understand the pros and cons of each.
    Second, given that there's a difference between EPS level 2 and 3, it's clear that the export options in Illustrator do make a difference.
    > it's simply inherent in how Word deals with this stuff based on its internal resolution handling.
    I don't think it has anything to do with resolution. It is more a question of whether Word re-interprets the data, and in the process corrupts or alters it, or not. We can see that when a Print to PDF is performed, it passes the data through without alteration perfectly.
    It's only when I use one of the Save to PDF paths that it corrupts the vector data.
    If I didn't need hyperlinks, I wouldn't have a problem.
    Essentially what I need is for the diagrams to be embedded as post-script in the Word document without being re-interpreted.
    > PNGs for the diagrams would be much more reliable.
    No thanks. I have created lots of lovely vector diagrams and I would like to keep them that way.
    EPS level 2, even without true curves, still looks better than a bitmap.
    > Otherwise you might consider using MS Publisher
    I repeated the same tests above with MS Publisher. Everything was converted to bitmaps. This route is a dead-end.
    So, for a 300 hundred page thesis, full of vector diagrams as well as cross-references, Endnote references and footnotes, what software do people recommend?
