Word to PDF - Pictures won't show up

Hi guys,
I've done many online searches and remain unable to find a solution.
I am creating a PDF document from a Word 2007 document at work.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard.
My word document is 270 pages with links, bookmarks, pictures.
Once created, the document is missing 90% of pictures in the original document.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Does it work if you click the location field of that image and use Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to copy the URL to the clipboard and paste the URL in the location bar and open that image in a tab?
Do you have any extensions installed that can block images?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • HELP!! My picture won't show up on photostream

I took a picture with my iphone 5s. The picture shows up in the bottom left corner when I'm on camera view, but when I click on it, the picture doesn't show up. It takes me to the picture I took before the most recent one. I tried going to my photos app, but it doesn't show up there either. I know the picture took because I can see it in my camera view, but I can't seem to find it anywhere and it's really frustrating. Any picture I take now shows up in my photostream, except for that one picture that I want. I tried turning my phone on and off, and I tried connecting it to my computer and syncing the pictures. I've also tried using dropbox but that didn't work either. Someone PLEASE help me, I'm desperate. I've tried just about everything I can think of.

I know you say you have tried everything, but sometimes people miss steps, so do all of this (Even if you have done it do it again)
Try the 5R's (You might not be able to do "Restore" thats OK) http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
THen connect the ipod and see if it list in iTUens OR in windows under "My Computer" as IPOD or Removable storage.

  • Word and PDF Attachments Won't Open in Mail

I bought my iPad2 in September 2011. have upgraded it to iOS5. I cannot open any PDF, .doc or .docx document. I have tried opening the PDFs in Adobe Reader and the Word documents in Pages or Dropbox but they won't open. All my apps are up to date.
What seems to be happening is that Mail is having difficulty downloading the attachment. I had a 4MB PDF attachment and when I tapped on the icon it began to download, which took several minutes. I saw the byte size change from 0 to 4MB. Then I tapped on it again to open the file but the byte size dropped immediately to 0 again and the file won't open. I tried opening in Adobe Reader but got the error "The document is empty (size 0KB)" . I have gone through several cycles of downloading the file and seining the seesaw from 0 to 4MB and back again. Just won't open the file.
Same problem when I tried opening Word documents in Pages or Dropbox. Also, I reproduced this issue with my colleague's iPad (version 1, iOS4, Pages).
Just to ascertain there's nothing wrong with the file attachments, I downloaded the same PDF in Outlook, placed it in my Dropbox, and opened it in the iPad without any problem.
    Anyone else having this issue?

Have you tried pressing the attachment to get the "open in" message and open in VLC, iBooks, or other apps?

  • My pictures won't show up on my Hard Drive when I try to view them from my MacBook Pro

I just came back from a trip and have been trying to get my pictures off my iPhone and other camera to put on my external hard drive (it's about 17 GB, so I don't want to waste the space by keeping them on my MacBook). I transferred all the pictures from my phone to iphoto and then to my Hard Drive, and they showed up fine. I had to use the family PC though to get the pictures off of my camera and then transfer them to the same folder on my Hard Drive.
After having consolidated everything, I plugged my hard drive back into my MacBook to view my pictures, but although the folder was there, it appeared empty. I was really worried I had lost all my pictures, but that wasn't the case. When I plugged the hard drive back into the PC they were all there.
I tried taking the folder off the Hard Drive and putting it on my desktop. This worked- all the pictures were back. I didn't want to leave it there though, because they take up so much space, so I deleted the old folder on the Hard Drive and put that folder back. That seemed to work- I was able to see all the pictures again. However, when I plugged the Hard Drive back into my MacBook this morning, the pictures were gone again in the same way *** before.
I am really baffled as to what's going on here. I was hoping someone could tell me how I can keep the pictures on my Hard Drive and be able to view them there.

This is true of course, but doesn't cover the situation where some files are in the iTunes Media folder and others are on an external drive. In my case I keep my music in the Media folder and all my films on an external drive (there are too many to have on the internal drive). In iTunes 11, and before, it was easy to add those external files by holding down the alt/opt key while dragging to the sidebar. In iTunes 12 this is no longer possible. There are several workarounds: use TuneSpan to move the file after it's been added; delete the file from the Media folder and empty the trash then use iTunes Get Info which will report the file is missing and allow you to locate it; constantly switch the Add to iTunes toggle on and off as required. All of these require a lot more work than just holding down the alt/opt key while adding.
    It constantly gets harder.

  • Picture won't show up in my Photo Album; big white blank rectangle space

There is a picture of Sammy Lee, the Olympic Gold Medalist diver, that refuses to show up in one of my Photo Albums on Safari.
I have done everything that everyone has taught me. I have cleared the cache many times. I have clicked onto a site ourside my own site (actually Allyson's site about the tips for iWeb). I have published all to .Mac. The photo still shows up as a white rectangular space.
It is not like other times when a photo doesn't show up, because in those cases, there is a question mark in a blue box. With this case, there is no question mark inside a blue box. There is only a white space where the picture would be/was.
I even went back to iPhoto and put in another copy of that picture, all to no avail.
    QUESTION:
What else can I do to make the picture show up on my Photo Album page?
    — Lorna in Southern California

I think it could be the comma causing the problem, actually. Here is a line from the slideshow.html file
new SlideImage('http://web.mac.com/lorna6/iWeb/Lorna%20x%203/395844EC-4CEE-4545-8AD 3-7E66F83391ECfiles/W%3ASammy%20Lee,%20swimmer2.jpg', 321, 450, 'With Sammy Lee, Olympic champion diver & Gold Medalist. He went on to coach Greg Louganis. At L.A.U.S.D., Office of Bilingual Instruction (It no longer goes by that name.) Mid-80’s'),
The colon has transferred ok, but there are a lot of commas used in the code to call up the photos in the slideshow and the comma in the file name (and, possibly, the caption) could be causing some problems.
I don't know enough about this to know for sure (need to consult a higher source...), but it sure couldn't hurt removing it to see if it helps.

  • Converting Word to PDF: text doesn't show on top of image

I have a word 2013 document with text on top of an image. When I convert to PDF with Acrobat Standard XI the image covers the text.
Here is the page in Word:
    and here in Acrobat:
    Any help would be appreciated!

I have only used Acrobat Pro, not Standard. Does Standard have a Content Pane? If so, I would try selecting each content element on the page till I found the image, and drag it above the text elements in the content order.
    Hope this helps.

  • Text in editable fields in PDF form won't show up once attached to email

This is probably something new to Acrobat 9 and just don't know enough about it yet. I had previously been using Acrobat 5 and made the big jump to 9. I use Acrobat to create editable fields for an invoice template that I occasionally email to customers. I open my blank template, type in invoice information (template was created in QuarkXpress then saved as a PDF) and resave renaming the file by the invoice number, then usually print a copy for mailing. Sometimes customers want the invoice emailed to them instead. Now, on my new iMac whenever I email the invoice, the customer gets it ok, but the fields appear to be blank or only show the blue field box. I emailed one to myself at another computer running XP Professional and the same thing happens only I can click on one of the blue fields and the information I typed there appears, but only one box at a time. Once I click another field the previous one disappears again. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Most likely you used the Preview application to fill and save the PDF, rather than Acrobat. The behavior you describe is a known problem. I recently wrote a small article that has more information: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/885/cpsid_88564.html
Although the site seems to be a bit slow at the moment.

  • HELP! Just got iPhoto 6 w/ my Tiger upgrade, and pictures won't show up

Last week, my 1 1/2 year old Powerbook G4 was having issues that eventually led to me having to replace the hard drive. The new hard drive came with the Tiger OS (was previously on Panther) and the new iLife suite, including iPhoto 6. All of my photos, music, and documents were able to be transferred to the new hard drive.
When I go to open up iPhoto, all of the thumbnails show up and my albums are intact, as well. However, when I double click to open one of the pictures, I get a blank screen with a spinning progress indicator that never goes away. I can open the photos with the "Preview" app, but I want my iPhoto to work!
    Any suggestions...?

    Jackie:
That will happen if, for some reason, you have "no access" in the permissions. Run the following on your iPhoto Library folder:
Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.
See if that will help the situation.

  • Pictures won't show on Messages

Hello, so this just started happening today. I haven't done any changes on my iphones, just today I woke up with this issue.
When I go to my messages, I can't see any of the pictures people have send me before today. I just get a JPEG square and that's it.
    I have an iPhone 5S, iOS 8.1.2
I did a hard reset, and nothing. I read in here to do a network setting reset, and that didn't help.
Any suggestion on what might have happen? All the new pictures I received today are showing, but before today I can't see
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. None of the pictures are loading...

    Hi,
The spyglass would reveal the item  as a file in the Downloads folder which can then be opened with Preview.
Alternatively you can use the Window Menu > File Transfers as this should list them.
    Again Preview should open them.
I have the same issue and have not worked out what is different in any of the settings.

  • My pictures won't show up in my iPhoto after I upload them.

I upload my photos and after I close the iPoto to shut off my computer the next time I log in my pictures are blank. I cant see them unless I double click to make them bigger. My iPoto shows about 12 blank folders that should be holding the pictures I uploaded. How do I get these pictures to show up?

Backup your iPhoto library, depress and hold the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and from the resulting menu rebuild thumbnails. If this does not resolve rebuild the library

  • Aperture pictures won't show up in finder/itunes

I was recently having some weird issues with my OS. So I backed up all my files, did a clean install, and manually moved everything back into place. Everything seemed to be working great. I didn't realize it until today when I tried to put some pictures on my new iPad, but I cannot access my pictures in iTunes to put on my iPad or through finder (photos) to upload to something like facebook.
When I try to upload pictures to my iPad it says:
your aperture library could not be found. Open the preference window in Aperture and enable the preference to share previews with other applications.
Went and checked the preferences in aperture and it shows always allow.
When I go to upload a picture to facebook or Flickr I choose photos and the only option is iPhoto, no aperture.
    Any suggestions?

Think I spoke too soon. I just synced 7000 photos with my Apple TV and thought everything was good to go. Now I just took some more pictures and imported them into Aperture and now iTunes says my Aperture Library has 0 photos! I repeated this routine of switching to an empty library and back, but it doesn't work any more!!! Help!

I have a PDF photo that cannot not go into iPhoto. It says it is not a recognized format.
How do I get it to go into iPhoto?
    Change formats? Where and how.
    Thank you,

  • Word Document with Pictures to PDF

When I try to make a pdf from a Word document that contains pictures, the pictures show up in Acrobat in sections -- not as one piece. I've tried printing to Distiller and printing to PDF. What is causing this?

Sorry. Here's more specifics -- I'm using Acrobat 6, Distiller 6, WinXP, Word 2003. Since the Word files are customer-provided, I don't know what kind of files the graphics are. By sections, I mean that the graphic is in stripes. For instance, a picture that measures 3.79x5.13 in Word becomes 7 pictures each measuring 3.79x0.75 when viewed in Acrobat after printing to Adobe PDF. So tell me, why does this happen?

  • Bitmap image won't show after converting HTML file to pdf

I have a program which saves a technical report as a HTML file. I don't  have another choice as to file type to save as. This program has a  template which generates the report....and there are fields which are  filled in...some text fields, and one is a company logo. Just to be  clear the logo itself is not in the template, a holding place is there  which points to the location of the logo on my drive. This is all set up  by the program and can't be altered.
If I save the logo as a jpg, png or tiff file, the logo shows up in the  final HTML report and if I use Adobe Professional (version 7.0 on Win XP)  to create a pdf the  image also shows up - a perfect replica of the report is created in pdf,  making it convenient for printing and email.
If I save the logo as a bitmap file (which creates a higher resolution  and sharper looking logo) the logo shows up in the initial HTML  technical report, but when I convert this to pdf the file is not found,  instead it shows as a small square red box with the error "Bad file  image" or "unable to download image".
I can't understand why this would be the case as the logo is saved in  the same location whether it is jpg, png, tiff or bmp. It just seems  that the Adobe Pro doesn't know how to "find" the bitmap logo from the  HTML template.
I did try converting the HTML document to Word but it threw the  formatting out and when it was converted to pdf it cropped the page  & I wasn't able to resolve this...maybe it can be done but it is a  long way around in any case, particularly if steps then need to be taken  to correct the formatting.
At the moment the document can be printed with success from the original  format - then it's a matter of scanning the printed document in order  to email. It can't be emailed directly because of the embedded  information which is lost if then sent to the recipient's computer.  However it would be nice if the doc could be converted to pdf which  would then make it easier to transfer the file to a backup drive or for  email.  Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for your response. Yes I did mean .bmp files.
The problem is not getting it to show in HTML - but Adobe then picking it up from there. I guess though if it is not a standard format for HTML then maybe Adobe has trouble recognising it if it is there. Also, it is possible for Adobe to convert .bmp files if they are inserted in the HTML file, but I have instead a template with the code for the location of the file rather than the graphic itself.  I don't have this problem using the other file formats and getting them into pdf...it's just that the images aren't as sharp as the bmp. I have tried various formats and resolutions so if there isn't a way I can get the bmp from the HTML file into pdf I might just have to live with printing and scanning from the original. Thanks for your input, it confirms what I was thinking. I'll leave this unanswered for now in case someone else has further information.
