Wordpress and dreamweaver... dynamicalled-related files cannot be discovered

I want to edit my wordpress theme with dreamweaver cc. I have a wordpress set up through a remote server and the wordpress is set to the root directory. I connect dreamweaver to wordpress successfully but then when I try open the index.php I get the error “dynamicalled-related files cannot be discovered”. I have spent the last three days trawling tutorials etc and nothing seems to be working. I feel like there is definitely a solution I just need some help please

Do you have a local testing server installed & running?
Is WP installed inside your local testing server's default folder?
     C:\wamp\www\WP\
     C:\xampp\htdocs\WP\
Have you defined your local Testing Server in DW, Site > Manage Sites?

  • BC and Dreamweaver CS4 template file extensions

I'm building a site suing BC extension for Dreamweaver CS4, but I can't get the templates to work. If I create them in Dreamweaver with the .dwt file extension, BC doesn't recognise them when they are uploaded. If I create them in BC control panel, they get a .html file extension and Dreamweaver doesn't recognise them. This means the local files in Dreamweaver don't recognise my CSS and everything needs to be built in the BC control panel, which is painfully slow. Very frustrating. What am I doing wrong? Please tell me I don't have to add my CSS to the BC CSS!

Hi Brad. Did that at first, but the templates didn't show up in BC. I've just altered a .dwt template in Dreamweaver and uploaded it to BC, but it didn't overwrite the one that's already there.

  • Problem with getting Drupal "related files" to be discovered

Why do I get this message when I try to see the related files in a drupal site?
"Dynamically related files could not be resolved because your credentials don’t allow file activity on the server"
I have set-up the site correctly for Dreamweaver and specified a testing server.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi David,
    Thanks for your reply!
Yes I can see my site in Live View and I can actually see the related files but only for the index.php file.  For all other attemps I get the error message posted above.
Unfortunately my trial version has just today expired so this will be a mute point.  During the trial period I contacted Adobe support several times but was told that there was no support for a trial version.  I was surprised and mentioned that unless I could get this to work I saw no point in upgrading from Web Premium CS4 to CS5.  All I was given was the programmed answer that no support was available unless I bought the upgrade.  Catch 22 apparently.
I am interested in Drupal and other CMS frameworks because of my vision of the future and this was my primary reason for looking at the upgrade.  However I see little reason to upgrade if the actual CSM functioning is still in beta stability.
I guess that, like Microsoft, Adobe is so successful that the company dosen't really care about present customers upgrading to the latest version.  My business must be very different since for some reason I value present long-time customers very highly and will actually try to help them use my new products so that they will want to buy them.  Oh well.
Again, thank you for your response.

Look in Windows Explorer, Music Library, My Music, iTunes, iTunes Media, Music which is where your library should be located. If it isn't there make sure you have the first two items on the advanced tab of the preferences ticked, then on the file menu select Library and Organise Library which should put all music remaining on your PC into the iTunes library.
Alternatively, if you can find where the music has become relocated to, move it into the automaticall 'add to iTunes' folder within itunes Media and it should then go back into your library.

  • Wordpress and Dreamweaver

Is there a reason why Wordpress.org does not recommend Dreamweaver as a text editor? I am having some problems and am using CS5.

Adobes Dreamweaver Developer Center has a tutorial on editing WordPress themes here:

Dont know it thats what your looking for, but check out these too:

  • Using local host XAMPP with Wordpress and Dreamweaver

I hope this is within the scope of this forum. It's probably more of a WP than DW topic but I have found this forum to be very helpful on a wide scope of general web design/build topics so here goes.
I have a static html/css web site created with DW. I've got it as a local site on my computer and also have it uploaded to a remote host server (fatcow). It's using a temporary domain/address while under development and will replace an exisitng site when completed.
    http://www.prospectrealty1.fatcow.com/index.html
I have installed WP on the remote host and created a Blog thru the WP Dashboard. There is a link in the navigation of the static site to the WP Blog. When clicked a new tab opens and the user is taken to the seperate blog.
    http://prospectrealty1.fatcow.com/blog/
I want to be able to work on a copy of the blog "offline" on my local computer.
So I have xampp installed and it is working correctly  on the C drive of my computer. Next I copied my entire local site folder into a folder under the htdocs/xampp. So  Next I copied the folder I created that contains the wordpress install from the remote host at fatcow (I named it "blog"), and pasted it into my local install. So now I have localhost/xampp/prospect-blog-test/blog.

geez, I was editing  the post above but got an error and it didn't save my edits and left out the problem.  so here's the trouble.
After trying what I described above I made a new install of all of the WP files and put it here localhost/xampp/prospect-blog-test/. did this just to "start from scratch" Planning to export the WP files from the fatcow host and import into new local host install. I type localhost/xampp/prospect-blog-test into my browser and the WP splash screen appears and askis about creating the config file. First step is to specify the database. That's where I am having trouble.
Using mySQL on the fatcow host and following the seemingly simple instructions on the WP codex I export the database .sql file. Then I go to mySQL on my local host and try to import the .sql file.
I am getting the following error message.
    http://www.openrangeimaging.com/Test/local-host-MySQL.jpg
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help or advice or point me to a resource will be much appreciated.
    thanks in advance

  • I have transferred Word files from my PC to my new Mac Book Pro and some of the files cannot be clicked on and opened or even deleted because you can't select them. There are a variety of document files and pdfs etc. Any ideas ?

I have transferred word files form my PC to my new Mac Book Pro. Some of the word files are feint and will not open as you cant select them. Also you cant delete them either because the cursor wont highlight or select them. Any ideas anyone?

Have you tried looking at the file in list view in the Finder and seeing if they actually occupy any space? i.e. "Size"? There shouldn't be any problem with Office documents, Adobe pdfs, etc. If they migrated properly - did you use Migration Assistant or some similar utility?

  • I would like to make one file and add several related files of photos in the one event.  Keeping photos in seperate event files in one large event file.  Is this possible?

I would like to make one event file and add several realted event files in this one event file without putting all photos together.  Can this be done?

Files and events ahve nothing to do with each other
If you are looking for "sub-events" that is not a feature of iPhoto
you can use albums and folders - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
If thsi does not answer your queation please ask it again - it is not clear

  • How take a list of POSIX paths and move the related files?

Just wondering if anyone could help me with this, I am probably making a really obvious error.
I have quite a simple applescript set up where by it searches a specific folder for whatever you like (, generates a list of posix paths and then moves them to another folder.
It works great when it finds just the one file but when it finds more than one i get an error.
The part of the script that moves the files looks like this:
    if NoOfFiles > 0 then
                        tell application "Finder"
set imagestomove to POSIX file founditems as string
                                  set folderpath to "Macintosh HD:USERS:Mark:Desktop:Workflow:EDIT:"
      move imagestomove to folderpath
                        end tell
(display dialog "Search returned \"" & NoOfFiles & "\" Files and successfully transferred to Edit Folder." giving up after 3)
              else
(display dialog "Search for \"" & spotlightquery & "\" produced no results." with icon caution giving up after 3)
              end if
The founditems variable is the variable that contains the list of paths.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Mark

Thanks for getting back to me, Just tried this but I'm not sure I fully understand where it should go, should it look like this once applied to my workflow?
              set theItems to {founditems}
              repeat with thisItem in theItems
set contents of thisItem to POSIX file thisItem
              end repeat
    tell application "Finder"
                                  set folderpath to "Macintosh HD:USERS:Mark:Desktop:Workflow:EDIT:"
      move the items to folderpath
                        end tell
Sorry if I am making some obvious mistakes here, still trying to learn!

  • Dreamweaver Crashing when clicking any function not on the same page - related files disabled

Whenever I click a PHP function that wasn't defined on the same file the entire application immediatly crashes. I've only found people mentioning crashing when dynamically-related files cannot be found, so I disabled that feature in the preferences. The application is still crashing. What other features do I need to disable to get dreamweaver to actually run and not try to take over my application.

    floleft wrote:
I don't utilize quite a few of the features that dreamweaver offers. I mainly use dreamweaver for FTP and code highlighting. I use the code tab 100%. All I'm doing is writing PHP in code view. If I click anywhere on the same line of the PHP function that isn't defined within the same ".php" file, the entire application crashes. I'm not sure what FF is. Firefox? Why would it matter what version of firefox I have?
Because of this error I'm back to using notepad. I never expected dreamweaver to crash when using it as a text editor with code highlighting.
Sorry that last part was a typo.  I think that I was thinking at first that it was crashing with a preview not in code view and I was thinking about browsers.
What version of PHP is this that you are programming for?  And what I meant to say was what version of Dreamweaver and what OS?  And have you made sure all extensions are disabled and all updates are installed?

  • Laptop no longer recognizing songs in external hard drive.  Only ones in internal hd.  Says file cannot be found and exclamation pt. to left of song.

My laptop no longer recognizes my songs in the external hard drive.  It still plays the ones stored on my internal hd fine.  It's just started doing this.
The song's names still appear in the music library, but when I try to play the song, anexclamation pt. comes up to the left of the title, and it says the file cannot be located.
OS is Windows 7 Home Premium
    Thanks.

Thank you Tal, sounds like a nice resolution of the username difference problem, i will try this as soon as i get home, but are you sure this will not duplicate all the exhisting songs in my library? Most of my songs were renamed/rated and have a "number of times played" number, which does matter in most of my smart-playlists...
    Thank you in advance.
When I tried my suggestion, I had around 3 three separate folders on my computer which had music in them. The music in these folders was dragged and dropped into iTunes when I was adding it onto my iPhone.
I had foolishly moved some of the music from the other folders and into the music/iTunes folder iTunes then showed the exclamation mark beside these tracks and showed the not found or words to that affect window/popup. I then placed the folders (that contain the music) back to their location which there were at when I originally dragged and dropped them into iTunes, after this the exclamation mark and the not found window naturally did not appear anymore.
    I then done the following:
    iTunes 9:
Choose File > Library > Organize Library.
    A message will pop up.
Place a check next to "Consolidate files" and click OK.
After I had done this, all the folders that contained the music that were in the 3 separate folders, were then placed in one folder, which in my case was,
    C:\Users\MY USERNAME\Music\iTunes\My iPhone\iTunes Media\Music
Sometimes (depending on the device) it can be (your username)/music/iTunes/iTunes music

  • Lost option to upload related files when using testing server.

I used to get a dialogue box when I was previewing files on my local machine using my localhost testing server setup. It was kind of annoying having to click yes every time. Last week I accidentally clicked the don't show this anymore box and now when I preview a site on my localhost related files and updated files are not uploaded. I have to manually upload the css, php, and any other related files to the testing server's folder.
I tried deleting preferences, re-installing Dreamweaver CS4, and everything else I can think of but I can't get this option back. Is there some way, other than using the same folder for the testing server and the site to avoid this problem?
    Thanks.

The iTunes Library file cannot be saved unknown error occurred (-54)

I have now fixed the issue, first I made sure that I had the proper permissions for iTunes and it's library folders. Then I completely removed ClamXav and all its related files and restarted iTunes.  Now I no longer get this error when adding new media to iTunes or updating apps, and the library file saves fine.  For some reason I think it was related to the antivirus software.
I think it was a coincidence as ClamXav only modifies permissions on the files it installs and none of those are anywhere near your iTunes folders, but I'm glad you got it working.

  • DW CC - Related Files "Not on Local Disk"

In Dreamweaver CC, related files, shown as tabs at the top of the currently open file window, now fail to open their file content. So clicking on e.g. header.php would have brought up the content for header.php, now a message appears saying "header.php is not on the local disk". Opening it in the file list shows the file contents perfectly. This only started to fail today. The same file still opens from the tab correctly in CS6 so something in CC is causing the problem. All site files are on an external drive permanently connected to a Mac BookPro, and they have been for years with no issues. Any ideas why this problem started?
