WordPress Blog Template

Hello,
Looking for any info on the best way to make changes to the
basic
Word Press blog template ("Kubrick") for my new website home
page.
I have very basic HTML knowledge and have not had much
success with making changes to the WP templates.
Want to use the DW "WYSIWYG" features to import/modify/export
WP blog template to my website.
Thanks

If the online documentation doesn't help you, you may want to
take a look at
a recent book release: WordPress2: Visual QuickStart Guide...

  • My Adsense Ads do not show on Wordpress Blog Sidebar. All that shows is a blank box. The Adsense ads show just fine in Internet Explorer. What is wrong here?

Adsense Ads are not showing up on my WordPress Blog Sidebar. The same ads are showing on Internet Explorer, but not on my Firefox Browser. What is wrong here?
    http://www.BuyBeadsOnlineBestChoice.com

Actually, my AdSense is set up to work differently on the actual blog post pages. If you look at this link
    [http://mytruckalogue.blogspot.com/2012/03/going-back-to-work-for-marten_20.html http://mytruckalogue.blogspot.com/2012/03/going-back-to-work-for-marten_20.html]
    there should be
1.) a 300x250 block of yellow text ads just under the the post title
2.) a 300x250 block of yellow text or image ads at the top of the sidebar, and
3.) a 300x250 block of template color text or image ads just under the Blog Archive.
Incidentally, I can't see my blog at all at this moment because my company has disallowed viewing personal websites and blogs on their wifi. REAL bummer! Sitting in my truck waiting for dispatch and can 't work on my blog :-(
But I'd be grateful to know if anyone else can see these ads - I can, at least, view this website.
    Thanks much :-)

  • Moving wordpress blog to iWeb

I am building a site right now with iWeb 09. Is it possible to import old content from a basic wordpress template to my new iWeb page? If so, are there instructions online about how to do so? I am having a difficult time finding anything. Thanks in advance.

iWeb can't import anything. A wordpress blog is a lot more flexible than an iWeb blog. I would keep it and either link to it from iWeb or put it in an iframe on an iweb page.

  • Customizing Blog Templates

    Hi!
I need to customize a blog template, to keep branding
    cosistent with my client's website.
The one I'm looking at LifeType, with smartie templates, is
too complicated for me. I just don't get it...
Has anyone found an easier way to customize blog templates,
or a blog platform that's easy to customize?
    Thanks very much,
    Emilie

Ive used Wordpress and managed to customise the template
    pretty
extensively - im not a programmer by any stretch of the
    imagination, cant
even write javascript - although it takes quite a bit of time
    and
concentration to work out the nuts and bolts of just whats
    what.
Once you do however, it can be pretty straightforward from
    there. Its php
files, and CSS, but you dont have to know php, as long as you
    just
understand what it looks like. Most of the customising can be
    done in the
    CSS.
From memory, I think all the template files are in the one
    place.

  • Wordpress Blog

    Hello,
I am in the process of creating a wordpress blog, and I am trying to customize it for my site. It's very difficult to view the changes, because nothing shows up in the design view. Does anyone know of a plugin/extension or another way to edit the content in dreamweaver without having to upload every change to my server to view?
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

Lots of links available for working with Wordpress + Dreamweaver:

Working with Dreamweaver and your local server is the best option I'd say.

  • More than one blog template?

I have two blogs on the site I'm developing, and I'd like to use different templates on each of them. (One is for News, and the other for Tips 'n Tricks.)
It seems that all blogs have one template. Is that true? Is it possible to use blog-specific tags on a non-blog template? And if there can be only one, where do I submit a Feature Request?
    Thanks!

  • A Basic Guide on Adding a WordPress Blog to OpenCart

Blogging is an effective and inexpensive way of engaging with your customers. Creating blog posts constantly provide search engines fresh content to index, which eventually help set you up as an authority in your domain. Blogging help you connect with your target audience and build trust within your own industry, by providing valuable information about your business.
When it comes to build an e-commerce website, an unfortunate reality is that some people believe that blogging isn’t necessary for e-stores or e-commerce website. But, that’s a wrong notion!
As a matter of fact, it is more important to create blogs when you’re selling something, owing to the fact that customers doubt buying online. And so, offering products at lower or discounted prices may not even work in drawing your customers’ attention. However, having a blog section in your e-store can help you create brand loyalty. But, the problem is that e-commerce sites don’t come integrated with blogging functionality.
Luckily, there are some great blogging platforms out there that can be integrated within your e-shop. WordPress is one such excellent and the most widely used platform for creating blogs. Once you’ve decided to integrate a WP blog, it is also very important to ensure that you’re using a reliable and coveted e-commerce platform. Most of us have a tendency to use Magento platform for building online stores or sites, however, for creating a small or medium-size e-store or e-shop OpenCart best fit your needs.
Through this post, I would like to talk about how you can integrate WordPress powered blogs to OpenCart using Wordpress Blog Feeds extension. But before proceeding further let’s first have an overview of the OpenCart e-commerce platform.
    OpenCart – A Brief Introduction
OpenCart is open-source software that helps set up an e-commerce site cost-effectively. It is an ideal choice for small and medium-size merchants for creating their online site. It is lightweight e-commerce software and is easier to handle. Just like Magento e-commerce platform. OpenCart also comes with tons of extensions (or add-ons) that help embed extra functionality into an online store.
    Overview of Pre-requisites
Let's have a quick overview of pre-requisites you will need for integrating a WP powered blog in OpenCart:
WordPress version compatible with your OpenCart installation.
    Access to cPanel.
Acquire ZIP file for the “WordPress Blog Feed” extension from the  OpenCart site.
Install vQmod folder because the extension we are using for the integration requires this folder to operate.
    How to Install WordPress Blog?
Step 1 – First, you will need to login-in into your Cpanel (or you can even choose to use any FTP client in case you've knowledge about working with FTP).
Step 2 – In this step, you need to upload “Wordpress Blog Feeds” extension zip file into your OpenCart directory.
Step 3 – Next, from your cPanel logged-in screen you can view an option “File manager”, from there click on the zip file where your OpenCart installation is being uploaded. And then, choose EXTRACT to uncompress the extension zip file. Make sure to save your uncompressed file in the vQmod folder.
For example: When you access and open your OpenCart URL or folder location/vqmod/xml/, the file you need to extract will be named as vba-blog-feed-to-article1.xml
Now that you have extracted the file, simply navigate to the vQmod folder and click on vba-blog-feed-to-article1.xml. And then, select EDIT. This will return text that will look something like:
Once all changes to the file has been made, remember to click on the “Save” button in order to save the file entries.
    Summing Up!
Irrespective of whether you’re running a small business or a medium-size e-commerce business, blogging frequently will help you build trust and enable you to connect with your customers. Put it simply, an online store selling products can take advantage of blog to drive more traffic to it. Moreover, by writing blog posts about your offerings and its qualities may encourage a user to access your site. If you’re using OpenCart software to build an e-commerce site, then you can choose to integrate WP blog in it. Hopefully reading this post will prove a good starting point, helping you become familiar with the integration process of WordPress blog into your OpenCart site.

    Hello,
You can try adding a wordpress blog to your Muse site. You should be able to do this. There shouldn't be any issue with it's functionality (You may need to work some more on the design part - This is just in case there is some issue with the wordpress code and the code generated by Muse in the backend). • Problems with blog template

I'm having two problems with the blog template. First, I wanted to add some images to a blog entry in addition to the main photo at the top of the page. I had wanted these to appear below the main text box. So I selected several pictures in iPhoto and dragged them over to the current blog entry. What I got was a new photo page being created and a small image placed on my blog page that was a link to the newly created photo page that contains a thumbnail image of one of the photos on the photo page. Is there no way to simply insert additional images into a blog page? Even if I can't insert the images into my page, there is a problem with the location of that thumbnail image. It somehow got located near the bottom of the page in between the "made on a Mac" logo and the Next link. I can't seem to select it to move it to a different location. I tried right-clicking, option-clicking and clicking with every other modifier key, as well as ordinary clicking, but either nothing happens or iWeb takes me to the new photo page. How can I manipulate this thumbnail object? Finally, out of frustration about being unable to manipulate the thumbnail away from the Next/Previous links, I decided to try to move them. I started with the "Made on a Mac" logo, selected it and then pressed the down arrow. What I had expected was that my page size would increase as I moved the logo down the page. Instead, I seem to have moved the logo down so far that it has disapeared. How do I get it back? What am I doing wrong here?

I have been corresponding with the company in Lithuania for a few days and we have tried everything we could think of to solve the glitch. I am very much aware of the fact that it is a custom theme, in fact I have further customised it.
The website in question is a private one. In my home country, we are legally required to post our address on the page. I would not want to braodcast that across the Apple community, if I can help it, so that is not an option. Sorry.
I would really appreciate if someone who uses GraphicNodes templates could help me out. Thank you

  • Local copy of Wordpress blog doesn't recognize cyrillic font

I've installed LAMP using the [wiki]LAMP[/wiki] wiki page. There was no problem during the instalation and configuration, but my local Wordpress blog is not recognizing any of my blog posts that are written on cyrullic, there are only ???????? instead of real letters. I tried also this that i found on wordpress support page, but it gave no results.
Is there something that i have to do, and set up encoding?

    Hey there,
I would see if this Apple support document can provide any help first.

  • Muse: Link zu post in eingebettetem Wordpress-Blog?

    Hallo,
Ich habe in meiner neuen Website auf der Seite "News" meinen Wordpress-Blog eingebettet. Hier der Code:
    <iframe width="1010" height="732" src="https://maniahub.wordpress.com/" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  • Blog template

    Gentlefolk;
Any suggestions for finding a blog template?
What I am looking for is pretty simple, your basic text display for the blogged content, and the ability to post responses.
The design part is no problem, but hooking into a DB would be a little trickier, and that is what I hope would be automated. Or, is there a way around this?
I am not wedded to any technology here, but it will reside within a Learning Management System that is SCORM-compliant (learn.com, learncenter, if that assists in the responses.)
    Don't need tracking functionality.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Don

OK, I got it. For some reason a blank text box was still active. Had to delete it.

  • Cannot connect Contribute to WordPress blog hosted on Startlogic

I installed WordPress on the server where my website is
hosted. I want to use Contribute to work on that blog. When I try
to set up connections, I specify "other hosts" and I enter the URL
of the blog. After I enter that URL, I can click the "browse"
button and display the blog. When I clicke "next" I am asked for
the ID and password, presumably because Contribute has identified
the API connection. I enter the same ID and password that works
successfuly when I log in to wp-admin on that server. However, I
receive a message that Contribute cannot connect to the Blog.
I am able to connect successfully to my publicly hosted
WordPress blog. I identified the file to which Contribute is
connecting for the publicly hosted blog, and I found the same file
in my WordPress installation on my Startlogic server. However, when
I specify that path and filename in Contribute, the connection
fails, saying it cannot connect to the server.
I opened a ticket with my hosting service, Startlogic, and
the support techs believe I should be able to connect with the ID
qatharms that works fine on wp-admin. However, that ID doesn't
work, and Startlogic cannot tell me what is going wrong. Can
anybody here give me a clue?

    Hi Dominic
That's the one thing I can't do right now.  The website & customized (and integrated) blog all share the same menu structure in a common Dreamweaver library item.  So when you update the library item for the menus, this update is shared across both website and blog.  Currently the menus are relatively addressed, for example:
    ../index.html
    ../contact.html
This works as long as the blog doesn't use sub-directories to file its posts, created by changing the permalink setting in the WordPress server.
Once you introduce sub-directories then you have to use full URL references to make a shared library item for the menu across website & blog work, for example:
    http://www.domain.com/index.html
    http://www.domain.com/contact.html
What I'll do is setup another test website / blog arrangement and try your suggestion to see if it fixes the issue.
Would having Contribute setup for both website & blog cause a problem?  This is how things are now, the first time I've tried this combo.
    Thanks.
    Aly

  • Flex 2 Wordpress Blog RSS

I find it EXTREMLY hard to belive, that wordpress doesn't
support the use of Flex2 RSS.
The only reason I find this, is because whenever I try to
call data from my wordpress blog it won't work.
    MY OBJECTIVE IS SIMPLE!!!!!
    Get the RSS From -
    http://grahamtt.wordpress.com/feed/
Parse it into a simple Flex Blog Reader/RSS reader app(All
    this is completly done)
Whenever I try to run my app on my computer it works, but on
    my server IT DOESNT.
    Heres is my COMPLETE code:
    Link -
    http://pastebin.ca/586156
    The reason I use -
    http://atom2rss.semiologic.com/?atom=http%3A%2F%2Fgrahamtt.wordpress.com%2Ffeed%2F
    instead of -
    http://grahamtt.wordpress.com/feed/
Is because Flex 2 doesn't read Atom (as far as I know). And
that's the same thing, I just used the converter here:
    http://atom2rss.semiologic.com/
Can somebody PLEASE explain to me how to set up a Proxy
properly? And get my code working?
It's crucial for my job that I find out how to read data from
wordpress blogs in a Flex App.
    HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

yea, I've tried that (too what I understand them saying) and
    it didnt work.
I downloaded the proxy.php and uploaded it to the directory
of my swf, but it still wont work. I also tried including the php
in proxy.php into the actual page that used the swf, and nothing
    worked.

  • Blog Template won't work right

Having trouble getting BC Blog Template to work.
Currently only shows the Blog Name - but no post after.
Clicking on Post Title on Blog Page works without a template but how to get it to show the post inside the template?
    Its a full page layout DW template with the {tag_pagecontent}
    Blog Page:
    http://www.pjspeech-hearing.com/blog_pjspeech.html
    Post in template:
    http://www.pjspeech-hearing.com/port-jefferson-speech-hearing-blog/november-11-2013-hearin g-clinic-event

    Liam,
I think I figured out something
Is this correct? - to use the url in blog details: http://www.pjspeech-hearing.com/port-jefferson-speech-hearing-blog
for blog link in my "non-dynamic" menu instead of a html page like you suggested.
    Is this correct proceedure?
But if you look at my blog using template it only shows the BLOG TITLE and not the whole blog post
Blog not using template shows everything but just plain white background.
    Thanks
