WoriTunes took away my gift card money?

Hi-
Okay so I just recently updated to the newest version of iTunes because my computer was saying that I didn't not have the rights to play the music that I had purched from the iTunes Store. It said I had to sign in, which I did, and then I tried again to play my music- but it said I had to sign in again, when I never signed out! So then somehow I ended up creating a new account, because I supposedly forgot my password, and with that went my $20.80 worth in gift card money and I still can't play the songs I've purchased.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem! I entered a $15 card. Had $12 left over and went to download an album. I had to re-enter my password, and after that, it said I had no money on my account, and it was all gone!

Gift card money post-payment?

Hi, I was told that the gift card money I had on iTunes would also work on the app store. I bought Final Cut Pro X but it did not use the existing funds I have on my account from those gift cards. Is there any way to still use that money or those cards for that purchase? The money has not been used and the cards have not been thrown away.

You need to redeem the cards so the credit is on your account before you buy anything that you wish to pay for with the cards.

Open iTunes on your computer. In the iTunes Store log into your iTunes Store account and view your account. Select Edit Payment Information. In the credit card choices I would choose None. That will remove your Mom's CC info. Next under iTunes Gift Cards and Certificates click the little arrow to redeem your Gift Card. Then follow the instrction to redeem your GC.
You can also do this on your iPod, but it is more complicated to describe how to do it and to actually do it. It is easier to do in the iTunes on your computer.

Being asked for billing info even though I have gift card money.

This morning, I tried to buy a song on itunes and I got a message about billing info and a credit card that is about to expire. I thought it was strange because I have gift card money on itunes right now and I don't know why I was being asked to provide that information. So, as of now, I can't buy ANYTHING without that message popping up! HELP!

They verify the account and information using the cc.
It should still take the money out of the gift card, but you will very likely need to enter the information.

Transferring Gift Card Money

I have an AOL account, which I have been using with iTunes. But it's been experiencing problems, so I want to use my Apple account. The problem, however, is that I have gift card money with the AOL account. Is there any way to transfer said money from the AOL account to the Apple account?

Lost gift card money

Orinal account would not let me utilize gift card money. Home page showed money available but password would not work. Tried redoing the ID and password...money did not transfer. Talked with Apple person for 21/2 hours relaying info back and forth to another I.T. person. Fould out there was another identical account under AOL. The I.T. person finally disabled my account without my authorization. I.T. does not have a direct line so you also go through a third party. Overall experience is unsatisfactory and unprofessional.

ITunes gift card money disappeared?? Help!

So I was trying to rent a movie off my desktop Mac computer which already had $15.00 gift card money on there. The money was next to my account name and everything! When I tried to rent the movie, a window popped up telling me to "authorize the computer". After I authorized it, the money was gone! I tried logging in and out my account but nothing! It disappeared...I don't know what to do but I'm hoping I can get that money back. Any help?

You might have multiple iTunes accounts and you're available store credit balance is on you other account.

Another possibility is that the store credit balance you were seeing was outdated information and that your store credit had actually already been spent. When you authorized your account, your account information simply updated.
This can happen, for example, when you use multiple computers to make iTunes Store purchases.

Anything is possible, but this is not how it works. It will not just disappear.
Look through your purchase history to make sure that it has not been spent.

Any purchases and downloads associated with an apple id are forever tied to that apple id. You can not merge any content, purchases, or info between the two accounts.

The amount you see on your account is referred to the amount of money that you got form iTunes gift cards you have now. It's not referring to the credit card

Money taken away from Gift Card

I tried placing an order on BestBuy.com for $21.91 and when I tried to place the order I got a gift card billing issue. When it reloaded the order page showed the wrong gift card balance. So I went to check my balance of the card it was at $1.67. I lost $21.97 and my order did not go through. I tried to call and was on the phone for 10 minutes and got transfered to an non vaild extension.

Gift card money there now not

Set up account for itunes for daughters ipod, and when i set it up I put in credit card and redeemed a gift card and it showed $25 for account and we bought one song. My wife did not want the credit card on account, so I took it off and now the money from gift card is no longer there, and when tried to redeem it again says that it has already been redeemed. where did my money go?

TS1424 iTunes account continues to get "hacked", downloads [asian characters] app, then uses my iTunes gift-card money for in-game purchases.

So what's going on?
It all started a few months ago when I realized that the $20 iTunes gift-card credit was used without my knowledge. Someone had purchased an iPhone app that was obviously foreign. I immediately changed my passwords to something I've never used anywhere, ever. The next day, I noticed that whoever downloaded the "app" used the card AGAIN to make in-game purcahses. Scared, angered, and confused, I called Apple who proceeded to tell me to change my passwords (despite my explanation) and then deactivated my account for a week. They reimbursed the stolen money and I thought everything was good... until now.
There are only 2 devices that are authorized to access my iTunes account - my iMac and my iPhone. I do not join any unreliable websites or download any malicious (appearing) software, much of it being recommended-by-apple apps. I just went on to iTunes today 9/9/12 and noticed that I was downloading something and there it was, once again:
I have no idea how this is happening and/or how to stop it. They want to charge me $40 to talk to them on the phone since my gear is older than 90 days. If anyone knows what to do, or why this is happening, please help!

There is no fee for email support. Also, in 99.9% of cases these in-app purchases, and what you describe are due to family members using the device and not aware they are carrying out in-app purhases.
Restrict in-apps and you'll see this will stop. I'm sure iTS will also regurgitate this as well to you.
