Work and personal devices getting all imessages
I have a personal phone and computer and a work phone and ipad.
All 4 are receiving all messages, calls, etc.
I want to use iMessage for my work devices, so that i can send/receive when on wifi, but i dont want them to be paired with my personal messages.
It used to work this way, and when I upgraded to iOS8 or to Yosemite, I must have changed a setting without realizing it.

Please check which Apple IDs and phone numbers you have linked to iMessage on each device / computer and make sure work and home are isolated.

Can I share calendars on a work and personal device, with different iCloud user names?
I'm relatively new to my work iPhone, and very new to my iPad. I've been entering events in the iCloud calendar, which is linked to the iPad under a personal Apple id and password.
My work iPhone, which (currently) has a different Apple id and password, set up when work provided it, syncs with Outlook on my work laptop using an App called Mobile Iron. I have very little control or knowledge of this, although it works just fine.
It woiuld be useful to have any events I set up dumped into the same calendar, viewable both on my personal iPad and my work iPhone, but I dare not do anything to interfere with what my company IT has set up. Any recommednded strategies?You can try sharing your iCloud calendar with yourself as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a8694. If you work phone has an iCloud account, you can privately share your calendar with it, giving your read and write access. If it doesn't, you can publically share it, giving you read-only access. This should give you the ability to view the shared calendar alongside your work calendar without merging the two.

A mate has an iphone 4 as a work phone, now he is leaving and needs to get all data incl messages etc onto an old iphone 3. Is this possible, any help appreciated.
RobbieYou won't be able to restore a device running iOS 4.2 from a backup of a device running iOS 5 (as you found out). And the Iphone 3G can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1 so there is no way to migrate from his iPhone 4 back to his iPhone 3G. He would have to at least have an iPhone 3GS, which will update to iOS 5.1 and would be able to restore from the iPhone 4 backup. Unfortunately, there isn't any way around it.

3 Out Of 4 STBs Do Not Work And I Cannot Get Any Help At All.
Last night at 10:30 the 3 7100s stopped working, they are stuck at Starting Up One Moment Please. My 7232 is working just fine, so is my Phone and Internet. So I call in and I am prompted through the exact same steps I have already taken, unplug box, unplug coax, turn on, turn off. Nothing, same result. She then states there isn't a signal from the boxes I need to locate the splitters in the house and disconnect them. I say it is after midnight and pouring, as they are all outside. Repeated this sequence 3 times before I had to raise my voice, "They are all outside where it is pouring." Her reply is there is nothing she can do until I disconnect them and reconnect, NOTHING, click.
So after work today I come home, disconnect every coax lead there is, unplug the boxes, unplug their coaxes, hook everything up and still Stuck on the Starting Up Screen. I tried 2 chats and each one is exactly the same, unplug, plug in..... Then it is the whole house reset, that drops connection and the chat and rep are gone. Now, mind you, they have my cell number because they ask for it in case of a disconnect, but they never use it. Nothing has changed, only the 7232 works and I am getting ready for another phone call, to go over the exact same script again and again.
You wonder why a customer is already angry when we finally talk to someone, why do you think? You want your payment for services not rendered, a service call is out of the question and your phone reps. don't have a clue. All they can do is read the script and repeat the same steps that have been done already. Isn't there a record of every call and chat and can't they see it and then use their common sense and try to deal with a problem?
So we are stuck with 3 boxes that aren't working, apparently they are not getting a signal so sending another one won't fix this either. Seems something is seriously wrong but no one can help.

TV went out on wednesday, called verizon and was on the phone until midnight doing the stupid little unplug **bleep**, but the TV just kept on that red fios screen. They said they would send out a new DVR box to replace the one I have (mind you I just started with verizon on the 18th of July). I get the new DVR on Friday and at last I plug it in, get all excited to watch the NFL preseason games and of course, the **bleep** doesn't work, just a black screen. I call verizon again and on hold for an hour before I had to leave. Come back, screen is still on black and call them and wait another thirty minutes before its answered, they did everything on their end for trying to manually activate the box, and still nothing..... he then gave me a reference number for the technician scheduled to come the next day (Saturday) from 8am to 9pm, of course i wasn't happy with the open schedule but I sucked it up and dealt with it, canceled my plans for Saturday so I can be home when the verizon tech shows up and find myself calling verizon at 930pm asking where the hell this tech was, they told me the office is closed and they open at 8am tomorrow. Well its tomorrow and I call them back, just to find out that its not open until MONDAY at 8am......................................................................................................................................................................................................... and so now I have to wait yet another day to try and get my **bleep** fixed that I'm paying for and havent even had a month.... yea good luck getting me to pay verizon

Having tried all the ways possible to get it working, contact your retailer again and politely tell them they did not yet satisfactorily resolve your trouble. Their Apple-Authorized Service Provider will be able to repair it.

I have a friend who switched from iPhone to Samsung and I am only one that has to turn off iMessage to send a text! I have deleted her then readded and nothing seems to work and she has turned off iMessage on her other apple devices. Is there a solution!
I have completely deleted twice! Deleted from iCloud contacts and windows contacts! Nothing has changed! Thanks for your idea!

I want to give my old iphone 4 to my daughter and need to get all her info from her old iphone 3 onto a new computer. The PC she synced with is dead and she does not want to loose all her contacts and music. How can I do this?
To effectively transfer ownership of the iPhone requires that it be "restored" as a new device.

The iPhone is not a backup device. Your computer backs up the iPhone, not the other way around. What you use to back up your computer is up to you - Macs use Time Machine. I assume PCs use something similar.
If her PC backup is dead you will have difficulty extracting content from the iPhone since it is not designed to work that way.
All her Apple purchases can easily be transferred to another iPhone. However, her contacts will be gone, as will any music or other contact obtained from sources other than Apple.
There are a number of third party utilities that claim to be able to extract content from an iPhone. See wjosten's procedure here:

Seperating work and personal iphones
I need to seperate work and personal iphones
At the moment I have a work phone set up with my personal itunes account and a mix of work and personal contacts. I now have a personal iphone and need to get personal stuff off the work phone onto the new personal phone. I have set up a work itunes account and signed out of my personal one and into the work one on my work phone but the apps I downloaded with my personal account are still there - how do I transfer the apps I downloaded with my personal account onto my work phone onto my personal iphone?
Also I want to edit the contacts on both phones to remove the personal contacts from my work phone and the work contacts from my personal phone. There are hundreds of work e-mails so is there a fast, effective way of doing this either on the iphone or using itunes contacts on my laptop?

RachelOh, this is a messy question - like asking how to organize your closets - and then asking how to move your existing organization to fall into the new, correct one.
I can tell you the desired end state - your organization should look like two different people - you at work, and you at home. The "you at home" should have all your apps, personal contacts, music, etc. The "you at work" should have only your work related stuff.
You should do this by having two distinct copies of iTunes, probably under two different logins on at least one (if not two) computers.
How to move your existing comingled stuff into this end configuration is a more difficult issue. -
My daughter and I both have phones - she a Blackberry and myself the IPHONE 3Gs - today we both got the IPHONE 4's - all are activated and working but SHE is getting all my texts! What can we do to stop this!
I assume those are iMessage texts - blue bubbles. That's because you have the same Apple ID, and you have set up iMessage to use your Apple ID. On each phone, go to Settings/Messages, scroll down to and tap on Send & Receive and choose either different email addresses or different phone numbers.
Alternatively, get separate Apple IDs. Otherwise all of your music and Apps will be duplicated also. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495 -
Separate Work and personal CONTACTS (not BB Balance)
Is there an alternative way to have separate CONTACTS (work and personal) in a BB Z10 for us whom do not have BB Balance. I just want this for the contacts, and perhaps the text messages, I do not need the security and all other features that Balance or a BES provides... If not, do you guys know if BLACKBERRY is planning on doing this for a future update? Seems like a very useful feature...

Go to Solution.Open Contacts, at the bottom - All, Search, select 'New Group' create Group Name then add contacts.
Suggest you name them 1business and 1private etc., then the groups will be at the top of the list. Existing contacts will just be duplicated in Groups. -
My daughter and I both have an iPhone and some how we share an iCloud account and she's getting all my texts and contacts. I can't find where to uncheck her phone number on my phone account so she doesn't get all my texts and contacts. Please help

Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and make sure that only your personal email addresses are listed under the individual phone number.Remove the "shared" iCloud email address.
For the Contacts, if you are syncing them via iCloud and you both have the same iCloud account, you will both have the same Contact list.

Just got a new computer and none of the music from my old computer's itunes transfered when I transfered the contents of the old hard drive. Now I'm trying to transfer music from my ipod and can't get all the files....help please?
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third partyn program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple) -
