Work around with Connecting iphone bluetooth
I read earlier this week about a work around with connecting the iphone bluetooth. I forgot to save a copy of it. Does anyone have a copy or link to it. I think it was 10 or 11 steps. Thanks!
You cannot pair a MacBook (or any computer for that matter) with an iDevice. That function is not supported.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5. I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s. However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call. I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss. The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens. All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.

Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue. I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web. Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock. -
I WAS USING I PHONE4 AND MY CAR KIT WAS WORKING PERFECT WITH IT VIA BLUETOOTH(RENAULT GRAND SCENIC 2011) BUT I BOUGHT THE NEW 4S AND EVENTHOUGH I CAN BE CONNECTED TO MY CAR KIT BY BLUETOOTH I CAN NOT HEAR IT ON MY CAR STREO.CAN ANYBODY HELP ME

If you have not yet done so unpair the car kit from the phone, or better yet reset it completely, Forget the car kit in the iPhone, and pair it anew. -
iphone 4S - Windows Vista - 64 Bit (and photoshop elements 9.0) is not recognizing my iphone as a camera - therefore I cannot download pictures from my iphone. iTunes works fine with the iPhone, but I do not see it in "My Computer" when connected via USB. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes....still nothing. Any ideas?

Why does my phone keep popping up messages "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iphone" when there is no cable connected? This has been happening since IOS7 was installed and has become worse with 7.1. I have reset the phone several times with no change.The phone charges properly & I have never used anything but an Apple Lightning cable.
I already cleaned the port with compressed air before submitting the problem. I since cleaned it with a toothpick and dug out some more lint. this seems to have just about fixed the problem since I have only had the error pop up 3 times since then and i was getting the error constantly before.

It should. I don't see why it wouldn't. It all depends on the quality of the headphones though. You should borrow one from someone who has it and test the headphones itself (music, calls, and other features)

I have set up a Netgear dual band modem which works well with the iPhone and an older MacBook, but with this brand new MacBook it asks for a password every time I reopen the computer and open safari. As you can imagine this is very annoying. It says I am not connected to the internet and offers me a choice of nearby networks including mine and then asks for a password when I select it. Why does it do this with our new MacBooks (also with my son's brand new one) and not with the iPhone, iPad and older MacBook? They happily automatically connect to our network after entering the password just the once.
Sig, I appreciate you trying to be helpful. I have no idea what issues you were having or what issue exactly pgrounds has been having. Your assumption that everyone's set up is the same as yours is false however. There are many many documented WiFi issues that are a result of Lion installs. Many have been solved by 10.7.1 and 10.7.2. Others have been solved by a large variety of work arounds. Others have not had their issues solved yet.
I am one of those. I have an IT background, and I spent the better of five hours digging up workarounds and attempting all of them. For the benefit oh anyone who is having similar issues, I have posted links to all of those workarounds here. None of them worked in my case, but hopefully they will help pgrounds or others.
So, once again, if you have a new idea, I'd love to here it. But if it has already been posted in one of these links, it's not helpful, let it go.

Please help me eliminate this repeating warning message on my iPhone 5. It occurs several times a minute. I am only using Apple devices, so the warning is in error. "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone."
The cable may be damaged. Try another cable.
Make sure it properly connected at both ends. -
When I try to open a spreadsheet on my Mac that I worked on with my iPhone, I get "You need a newer version of Numbers to open this spreadsheet." When I go to the App store, it says I already have it. I have v. 2.3 and can't seem to download newer version.
If you are running Mavericks, and the Mac App store says you are up to date, then you have Numbers 3.2 as well as Numbers 2.3. You are getting the "Need a newer version message because your Mac is trying to open the document using Numbers 2.3.
Launch Numbers 3, then open the document from within that app, or right click/control-click the document and choose Open with Numbers 3.x.

My iPod touch charges but no longer plays thru my Onkyo or Phillips home theater systems. Works fine with friends iPhone and both systems worked fully with this iPod in the past.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

It says"this cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone"Try checking your cable socket/lightning cable for dirt, grime, pocket lint, etc. I could not find the solution to this issue myself and after much searching I found someone stating that cleaning this out helped them immensely.
After taking a wooden toothpick (making sure the phone was OFF first) and gently clearing out the edges and inside of the lightning socket this went away.) It is worth noting that I had a significant amount of dust or lint buildup along the edge rails which I think was causing the iphone to believe it was plugged into something when it was not.
Try it and see, ensure you are very careful and do not use any conductive tools to clean the area in question. Compressed air also does wonders here. -
What is up with this error message after updating saying our cables are not reliable?

Not only is it annoying and concerning...this is draining my battery, as the iPhone keeps waking up to display the message over and over. Like "MartinLegodi" above, I also have no cable or accessory plugged in and only use Apple cable and products when I do.
It's a disconcerting mystery. -

Buy one that is certified. Your current case might work without problems, and then might stop working in the future. iOS 7 is especially "sensitive" to uncertified peripherals. With this iOS release they have started to clamp down on "pirate" peripherals.

I have a 3GS iphone. It was jailbroken and working alright.But I was not able to upgrade its IOS frrom 4.0.1 to higher versions and many applicatopns were not compatible with this version of the IOS. So I decided to do a factory unlocking. From an website, based in Mumbai, I unlocked it. When I check now in different websites from my IMEI number, my iphone is unlocked. So I became happy that I can now upgrade my iphone. But the events turned to be different.When I connected to iTunes, iTunes stopped working and my iphone did not appear in the iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes after cleaning previous registry of all relatedd components like Quicktime, Bejour,Apple software updates and mobile softwares. I also used msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in software of Windows 7 ultimate but still my iTunes is not working, when I connect the iphone. If I do not connect the iphone, iTunes is working alright. Can any friend give me some advice how to proceed. I do not like comments like Jailbreaking is illegal and should not have been done.
