Work center in solution manager

Hi,
In the work center of solution manager, while trying to create job documentation : [https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001975992008E/index.htm] from a change request the final step is to assign a logical component. When I click on the logical component icon my logical component list doesn't show up even though its maintained in the system. Is there some configuration involved?
Thanks,
Esha

Hello Esha,
if I understood your issue correctly your creating the Job Documentation from the Job Change Document (transaction type SDCD) -> you are using the ChaRM integration, right?
In that case you'll have to check IBase assigned to the Job and Change Request: The IBase has to point to a production system.
The program also filters for logical components having the (logical) System, i.e. combination of System ID and Client, of the assigned IBase, assigned in the role production.
-> So you need a logical component which includes the selected system (see IBase) in role production.

Martin

  • Working on Solution Manager

    Hi Gurus,
in our project we are having to work through solution Manager. I am new to the solution Manager environment.
    a) Is there any link that helps us understand the basics of working on solution manager.
    b) Also, i understand we need to give the transaction codes that we work on in solution manager. (But in HCM as we work in the IMG the transaction code is always seen as SPRO for most of the configuration)
    c) How do we set the T Codes for entire configuration?
    We have the sub modules
    a) Personnel Administration (Recruitment Included)
    b) Organisation Management
    c) Time Management
    d) Payroll
    e) Personnel Development (PMS- OSA)
    f) Training and event Management

  • Questions in Solution manager

    Hello friends,
Can any one answer these questions
SAP Solution Manager Overview Key points
    -       Scope of Solution Managers capabilities
    -       Work required to implement and configure Solution Manager – i.e. how much is out of box vs. customer/implementation specific?
    -       How it can be customized
    -       Reports / metrics that solution manager offers
    Thanks

    Hello,
what is Solution Manager? A platform that provides integrated content, tools and methodologies for implementing, supporting, monitoring, upgrading and operating your enterprise SAP solutions.
My recommendation would be, if you have a chance to attend any of the SAP Solution Manager Seminars www.sapsolutionmanagerseminar.com/ would be the best to do. I am just back from the Amsterdam session. I have mainly worked in SAP Solution Manager projects, but still learned a few things even in areas I have been involved in.
Can you use SAP Solution Manager out of the box without any customizing? No. You need to execute basic customizing and maintain your landsape at the minimum.
For example you have to maintain your landscape. Generate RFC connections, setup up monitoring if required. Configure EWA reports if needed. Service Desk and Change Request Management would be large configurations. There are some reports you can use.
How can it be customized? Check out in transaction SPRO to get some idea, but not everything is in there covered you still need to configure.
There is a SAP Solution Manager book published since this year.

    Markus

  • Intergaration Solution Manager with Peregrine's ServiceCenter 6.0

    Hi,
We are planning to integrate Peregrine's ServiceCenter 6.0 (HP product) with SAP Solution manager service desk and change request management.
Our idea of integration is that we will integrate the Peregrine's ServiceCenter 6.0 with Solution Manager where Solman will manage the service desk for any incident ticket raise by Peregrineu2019s Service center, application, transport request and etc.
u2022     I would like to know whether anyone has integrated Peregrineu2019s service center with Solution manager before? What is your advice?
u2022     Any suggestion on the process?
u2022     It this process can be carry out?
    Thanks!!

    Hello MeiYen Cheng ,
SAP Solution Manager can be integrated with a Third Party Service Desk tool.
As of Release 4.0, SAP Solution Manager includes an open interface for exchanging messages with help desk systems from other providers. The purpose of the open interface is to act as a central access point for reporters and support employees. It allows you to integrate the SAP Solution Manager service desk into existing help desk systems. Messages are exchanged via Web services for simple, flexible, and platform-independent operations.
I have attached a PDF file here which explains the scenario.
For more information on SAP Solution Manager service desk please refer to the SAP Help Portal (help.sap.com -> SAP Solutions -> SAP Solution Manager -> SAP Solution Manager [current release] [Choose language] -> Service Desk).

  • Solution Manager project export / import

    Hi,
is there any possibility to export the project files from Solution Manager, change some data in an other program and then import them back to solution manager? This whole import/export process should work automatically.
The entire thing is to avoid that the users have to work with the Solution Manager instead of their usual and well known programs for project management.

    Hi Andreas,
Currently there is no possibility to perform this.
    kind regards,

  • EMail into solution manager Service Desk

Technically it seems to be possible, to send emails to the SAP CRM system. But up to now I was unable to identify any possibility to create a message in the service desk by an eMail.
Was I just looking in the wrong places, or is there no possibility to do so?

    Dear Mr. Mueller,
As far as I know from working as a Solution Manager Support consultant in SAP this functionality does not exist. Whether it is being developed by the Developement team in Germany or not I cannot say. I haven't heard any announcements from them about this.
Maybe Andreas Diebold might have an idea on what the SV-SMG-SUP developement team is working on at the moment.
Sorry can't give you a better answer.
    Yours truly,

  • Work centers in SAP Solution Manager

    Hi!
I have patched my SOLMAN 4.0 to SP 15 and have configured the Work Center functionality.
I have assigned the first Work Center Z_SAP_SMWORK_SETUP, it works.
Now I would like to use the System Monitoring functionality and use this Work Center.
The appropriate role therefor is SAP_SMWORK_SYS_MON.
Unfortunately this role does not contain any profile or objects.
Can some one tell me which objects do I need to add to this role in order to use the Work Center System Monitoring?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hi Thom,
Most Work Center Roles are delivered without assigned roles.
The Work Centers are using the standard roles of SAP Solution Manager
Please see the updated [Security Guide SAP Solution Manager 4.0|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000673252&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700007187872005E] on page 24 for an overview of relevant roles on Solution Monitoring.

  • How to manage work center in Production order

    Hi,
I am producing a material having one operation (suppose cutting), which I have mentioned in the routing. I have also mentioned the work center in routing on which cutting operation will be performed. When I make the Production order of 1000 pcs there comes only one work center. But practically, they are producing these 1000 pcs on two different work centers ( 500 on one and 500 on second). How to manage this in SAP.
    Kindly help me.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Yogesh Singla

    Dear ,
What is the individual capacacity of the Work Centre -CR02-Header -No of Individual Capacity ?
I think you must be using similar kind of work centre of 2 no 1000 pc .Now , when you are creating routing for this , you should hit Required Spilliting in Routing Operation -Select Operation line item  and then Double click -Select Spilitting and enter splitting No 2.
At the same time in CR02-Work Center -Capacity Tab -Hit the Header -In the Bottom of the Detail Capacity Header -Avaialabile Capacity -Include 2 as Number of Inidvidaul Capacity  and SAVE.
Now based on thr required spilittinga and invidual caapcity , it will consider the Work Centre Load .
Other wise , you can enter one more operation line in routing with similar Labor hrs , work center and control key in routung for production of 1000 pc  .
    Hope it clarifies
    Regards

  • SAP Solution Manager Adapter for SAP Quality Center by HP (ST-QCA)

    Hello Folks,
I am configuring Solution Manager, and the current activity asks to download to add-ons that I can't find in the Marketplace - they are required to activate Solution Manager Enhancements:
SAP Solution Manager Adapter for SAP Quality Center by HP (software component: ST-QCA)
SAP Support Enablement package (software component: ST-SEP)
Does anyone know where to get those components?
    Thanks a lot,
    Marco

    Hi Ravindra babu/ Murali:
I have one very quick doubt and would be really glad if you can help clarify.
As per documentation from SAP and also IMG screens etc. it seems like 'a project' in SolMan will hand-shake with 'a project' in QC.
Can I therefore assume that if there is only one instance of SolMan (productive) and one QC server alone (again, productive), any number of trials I carry out between SolMan project and QC project will not spill over into other projects in these two systems and thus have no impact whatsoever at server level.
The reason for my asking this - in my project, Testing has started using QC in a standalone mode already. We have just one server. If I have to carry out any tests/ demo between SolMan and QC, it shouldn't impact other 'standalone' projects being done in QC.
    Regards,
    Srini
