Work center with two cost centers

Hello,
I have one work center. I can produce two different products on it. For one product the costs should go to cost center 1. For the othe product the costs should go to cost center 2.
How can I realize this scenario?

IF you have to take care of capacity planning and scheduling, then you need to use only one WC and having two WC will not serve the pirpose.
Generaly you cannot assign WC to 2 different cost center unless the period is different.
Then the only solution is let the cost get posted to 1 common cost centre. Then at the month end distribute the cost to 2 different cost centers depending on then qty produced.
This is the one laternative we are following.

Hi SAP Gurus,
We are getting the error message 'Work center with ID 10000005 was not found' while our finance guys trying to do costing run for our two plants together. But when they run the costing for two plants seperately then it is working fine. Because of the business needs they have to do the costing run for both plants together.
"The description of the error is as follows:
System error: Work center with ID 10000005 was not found
Message no. CR082
Diagnosis
Internal error.
Procedure
Repeat the transaction.
If the error occurs and you have a CRM System connected to your ERP System, the document may have been archived in the CRM System.
If the error occurs again, inform your system administrator. If the error cannot be corrected, call the SAP Hotline directly. Describe which steps preceeded the error"

Kindly check with following SAP note for Message No. CR082 :

Work center with diff catogory -PS

Dear All,
Can we have a Work center with diff catogory..say 1) Labour 2)Electrician 3)Helper
Supposing if 1 activity want to utilize the work center having Diff Catogories and each catogories will have diff work timings.How we can assign the same.

I have created 1 WC with 3 catogories and also i have 1 activity which is having 3 diff catogories of work tobe executed in the same WC. My question is how we can assign in PS.
While seeing the load details, it is showing the avilable capacity depends on the work timing we have given for the Diff Catogories, But how we can assign it for the activity.

One warehouse with three cost centers

Dear GURUs,
We are facing a problem while doing following activity
1. We have one warehouse (suppose 2465), which is sending material to three sales offices(2415,2416,2417) from sales office the material is dispatched to customer.
2.(Old setting)We have assigned the each sales office to each cost center & profit center is taken through material at plant.
3. (new setting) Profit center is removed from material master .
4. While sending a material from warehouse to sales office customer ,we are putting the profit center at sales order field.System automatically picking the profit center which is entered in the sales order.
5. But at same time if freight or any other condition(discount or rounding off) is put then system is picking warehouse as cost center
But we require respective sales office cost center
Note: Customer's sales office should be considered as a cost center as material will be dispached directly from warehouse to customer.

Asset used by two cost centers

Hi,
Can some one please explain me if one asset is related to more than one cost center, how the expencess and depriciation is allocated to all related cost centers?
I believe In asset master we can give only one cost center.
Will there be a split entry at the time of aquisition?

Hi
Std SAP does not allow to post asset or depreciation in more than one cost centre. If at all you need to post a depreciation in more than 1 cost centre you need to post first in a pooled cost centre which will work as suspense a/c and then go for assessment or distribution. By doing this suspense a/c becomes zero and expenses will be posted to your desired cost centres

Tables to retrieve work center for target costs

Dear all,
currently i developing a report which requires me to display the work centers and their target and actual hours and costs. I tried using production order link tables but they only show work centers that are related to planned costs. May i know which tables can i refer to, in order to retrieve work centers that contribute to the target costs?

I have a Report for - 'Equipment BOM' - IB03.
Problem: How to find the 'Maintenance work Center ' For Equipment ? (IE03--> Organization > Responsibility> Main. W.Cntr)
[ Note: For Client --> It's not necessary that each Equipment has Production Order, Few Equipments are taken only for Repair purpose, Equipment is there in table - EQUI,
So - Not possible to fetch from AUFK, HIKO or any other order tables. ]
EQUZ-GEWRK has the main work center. Pass the equipment number and valid-to date to get the main work center.

CNR2-assign person to work center error: the cost center is deleted

Hi guys,
i have a problem with assigning a person to a work center using CNR2.
i select the person and i add it but when i hit SAVE i get this warning message:
"RP718: a segment could not be derived". the person will then be allocated to the work center BUT when i check in PA30 i can see that the persons cost center is DELETED :O.
could you please help me with this? i tried a lot of scenarios but i could still not find the answer.

Cost Center must be maintained for that person in HR master data. Please have your HR person look into this and maintain the data and try again. Cost center and Atype of that person would bring in actual costs (equivalent of hours) on the receiving objects when time sheet is being recorded.

Can you have multiple Rates within one Work Center with multiple operations

We have a work center called Pipeshop. Within the Pipeshop we have multiple operations such as Welding, Threading, Cutting, Grooving etc. Each of these operations have a different cost assoicated with them. How can you have different cost for these operations?

Hi,
For this case you need to do following activities.
1 Create individual activity accoding to requirement, that will be used for costing.
2 Activity planning w r t work center. In this cost per unit is declaring.
3. Create Routing and modify the default activity type, w r t required activity type, suitable to operations.
Now Order is referring the activity type, refered in Routing rather than, work center.

Funds Center assignment to Cost Centers

I'm implementing FM (PSM) in a company that is controlling their expenses only at a cost element level using generic cost centers. Is it possible to assign a generic cost center to more than one fund center and differentiate them due to the commitment items?

The relation ship betwen Fund Center & Cost Center is 1 : N. that is One fund center can be assgned to many cost centers but one cost center should be assigned to only one fund center. So i dont think it is possible. If its elpful, plz assign points.

Quality inpsection on Work center (with/without Material Ref.)

Dear All,
I have scenario, where I have to do the in process inspection on machine (work center) to measure various process parameters that has a direct link with product quality. it is basicallly with out material reference.
I tried using in process inspection for production order but there are several constraints due to which It will not work for certain cases. if we record the readings on each interval against machine/workcenter then every thing will be fine.
how can we do it in SAP.

Yes its a variant product (Like aluminium sheets rolls for different gauge and widths). which means alot of different product variants produce on same machine with same machine parameters.
so for inspection, product has secondary importance, we want to study the machine parameters to monitor which should remain same over the time and product.
Further at the end, the report we want to see is based on machine not product.

Production plant with two distirbution centers issue

here is my scenario that I need help..
company A outsourced its production to company B for material M1.
company B has a plant where they make production and ship to two distribution centers dc1 and dc2.
dc1 ships only to usa customers and dc2 only to europe
Company A sends forecast to company B for M1 for both dc1 and dc2.
what company B is doing is creating a part M1-A and making production and sending to dc1, another part M1-B and making production and sending to DC2. Both M1-A and M1-B are same as M1. the reason why they do this way is because.. M1-A should be placed on US size pallet and M1-B on euro size pallet.
is there any other way we can achieve the same without creating different part numbers for M1 as M1-A and M1-B just to differentiate the pallet type?

from production execution side , yes we can do that batch charateristic..but how will I know how much should I produce for dc1 and how much for dc2 if I make it one part number?
right now scenario is like this
M1 - A : forecast in plant B : 300 pcs for week 1 (with suffix A, I know this will be shipped to DC1)
M1 - B : forecast in plant B : 700 pcs for week 1 (with suffix B, I know this will be shipped to DC2)
Requirement is to make just one material number M1 instead of suffix A and B
so future state will be
M1 : Forecast in plant B : 1000 pcs for week1
now, how will I know, how much should i build for dc1( on us pallet) and how much should i build for dc2 (on euro pallet)?""""""""
any ideas on how I can achieve this? I have one idea of using spl proc key of 40.. but just want to see some other experts opinions on solving this issue from planning perspective..

Co-pa and cost center with different profit centers?

I have a requirement to post (from fb50) to:
1) True posting: A profitability segment with profit center XXX
2) Statistical posting: A cost center assignet to profit center YYY
I enter values in cost center, profit center and Prof.segm., but as soon as I press "Enter" the system overrides the profit center I enter and derive YYY from the cost center.
If I try to change the profit center manually to XXX I get message KI350 (profitability segment being derived again) and the profit center is reset to YYY!
I have played with the field status groups and the message control, but no matter what I do I can't change the behaviour.
Any ideas?

Since the cost center posting ends up being statistical it doesn't make sense (at least not to me...) that it takes priority over the manual entry (or one derived in the true posting - the CO-PA assignment).
I have included the profit center in my characteristic group, but it is greyed out.
I have also made a derivation specifically clearing the profit center and another one rederiving it from other CO-PA assignments. It looks fine in the derviation analysis but it doesn't change in the document!
Are there other options? Will a substitution be able to take priority over the statistical assignment?

Territory Management - Looking for integration with ERP Cost Centers

We are exploring using Territory management in CRM 7.0. However, the hierarchy structure is really the same as our cost center structure in ERP. The Business does not want to have to maintain this information twice. Is there some way to update one from the other? Or is there any integration between the two?

When we were first looking at automation/customization with Initiatives, the challenge was how different each project plan was. With all the different layouts and formats that different project leaders used in different areas of the same company, it make it impossible to come up with some way of standardizing how to get the data into Initiatives. If you were looking at bringing in the data to a table first, that would certainly solve that format issue.
Initiatives aren't populated with data from PAS, instead they are created manually in the system. There are pop-up boxes involved as well. I need to do some further research into how you could best do this.
This would be a customization.

So, I've seemed to solve this problem, in the interm at least.
1) Open disk utility
2) Select your HDD
3) Click "Verify Disk Permissions"
4) Click "Repair Disk Permissions" (assuming there was an issue)
5) Once complete, restart your mac
These steps worked for myself, and I've been messing around with both chrome and safari and the two finger scroll hasn't broken yet.

Goods receipt with two cost

we create one PO and do goods receipt for the finish goods with quantity 200 and standard cost 130 USD/PC,
but in the same month, we realize standard cost is not correct, thus we use MR21 to change the price, after we change the price, we did the reverse GR, now the material is taking new price of 150 USD/pc, the quantity is zero(because we did reverse GR), but material value is not zero( 130-150=-20), in this case, how to make it zero or any other suggestion?

What you did is wrong... You should have reversed the GR 1st - Then MR21 and then Post the GR again
Reverse the Reversal Document again.. It will be reversed @ 150....
Then Change MR21 to 130....
Then reverse the GR again
Then Post MR21 as 150
Now post GR again
