Work contacts vs. personal contacts

I am considering the purchase of an IPHONE but I have to work out some of the issues before I dive in. I was wondering if someone knows if you can keep your work contact lists separate from your personal contacts?
My other question - If I say -- enter the name Bob Smith, and his specialty... or any other info about Bob... can I search for Bob, using his name or his specialty or another piece of info that I may have entered?

Hi Jackie63,
To answer your first question, No, you cannot distinguish multiple contact lists. As of now, the phone only supports one list of all your contacts.
However (and I believe this answers your second question)with the knew 2.0 release, a search bar was applied at the top of contacts list under the 'Phone' icon and also to the 'Contacts' icon that was applied to the main screen. This search bar allows you to search for any information you may have put for "Bob Smith" such as his name, Company, Address, telephone number (although thats rather redundant), etc.

Want to import work contacts to personal BB

I have a personal 8830 that I would like to put my contacts from work on. We have Outlook 2003/Exchange at work and a BES server that communicates with my work 8830 BB. I have Yahoo mail set up on my personal 8830 BB. Is there a way to copy my Outlook work contacts to my personal 8830?

You mean you have two 8830 one for work (configured with BES) and one for personal (configured with BIS). Now you want to tranfer your work contacts in personal 8830.
Approch #1
Make a backup of your work BB in your desktop/laptop. Now use Backup and Restore process to tranfer your address books in personal BB.
Connect your work BB with PC
Click on Backup & Restore
Click on Back up button under Backup
You'll be asked to specify a location to keep your backed up data
Now remove your work BB and connect your personal BB
Click on Advanced button under Advanced
Click on File menu at the top left hand corner and select Open
Find the backed up file that you've save in your PC
From the left hand side (computer databases) highlight Address Book and click on (>>) arrow button
Note: With this process you'll be losing all the data saved in your personal BB

Step #1
Connect you personal BB with your desktop Manager in your office PC (where work outlook address is available). If you device is set to wireless sync then you need to turn off wireless synchronization. To do so go to Address Book -> click Menu -> Options -> Wireless Synchronization: No -> click Menu and Save the changes.
Step #2
Click on the Synchronize button on Desktop Manager -> Click on Configuration Tab then click on Configure Synchronization -> Click on Choose under Address Book (on the right side of the pop up window) -> Click on you organizer apps (like, MS outlook, Lotus notes etc) -> Select desired apps -> select Synchronization radio button and click OK twicego back to Synchronize tab ->click on Synchronize Now.

I'm am currently using my icloud address book with my private email address and the contacts in that listing are friends and family. I would like to add my work contacts from my office outlook to my icloud (but keeping them seperate). Currently my work email/contacts are set up on my phone seperatly, but I do not know how to add them to my icloud. can i add them or must I switch my icloud on my phone to my work email address?

In contacts section for the groups section i want to delete old groups i have on the phone and then add a new group for easy access for work contacts for calling. rather then searching each individual contact when needed. is this possible?

i currently have about 6 different groups listed on the iphone in my contact list section and i want to delete the old ones and create a new group for work puposes!
i dont want any apps all i want is something similar to my favourites list but in a group so i can just go into that work group and scroll to the person i need to call and this way seperating my personal and work contacts.
because i do alot of calls from my car i dont want to have to search my contact lists to find the right person i just want them all in a simple folder.
is this possible because if i already have groups on my iphone i should be able to delete the old ones and create a new one?

Deleting groups on the phone and creating new ones is not supported with iOS4, you'll have to do that on your computer and sync again.
Let's see if they changed that in iOS5 when it is released.

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.

i am doing one POC for one of the customer. where I have Dummy Domain and I have installed Lync 2013 server std edition and Lync wac server. now i am able to login from workgroup machine via lync 2010 and lync 2013 aslo.
But when I am trying to login from Customer productuion domain machine Lync client login fails but from same machine lync 2010 client is able to login without any issue. when i am trying to login through lync 2013 i am getting this error message.

Please turn on Windows event logging for lync and check the event log on client machine. Please also try manual configuration to test the issue.

Does the other person have iMessage on, too? Is the specific phone number/address you are trying to reach them at show up for them in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive?

It is not always possible to return a jailbroken phone to a pristine state. Jailbroken devices can NOT be discussed here per the terms of service. As for unlocking. It was previously hacked and has re-locked to the original carreir. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Find out who that is and contact them or do as steve359 advised above and try to return it for your money back.

SMS relay from work iPhone to personal iPhone

8.1 and Yosemite installed. I have two 5S', one for work and one personal. Both phones are registered under my single Apple ID.
I'd like to get SMS relay to send texts from the work phone (silver) to the personal phone (gold), so I can leave one phone home and just deal with one phone. SMS relay is working fine between my phones and my Mac.
When I try to select my personal phone from the "Text Message Forwarding" setting, it says to enter the code that is displaying on the iPhone, but no code displays on either phone.
I have made sure that my email is selected under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both phones.
Both phones are on the same Wi-Fi subnet and can definitely see each other, as the Phone handoff functionality seems to work fine as one incoming call makes both of them ring.
Any ideas?

I have an old iPhone 4S that I use around the farm and at the gym. I wanted it to connect using continuity services to my iPhone 6+ which has the mobile service plan attached to it (the 4S does not). I had to turn ON Airplane Mode and then turn on WiFi and Bluetooth. In the FaceTime settings the "iPhone Cellular Calls" is turned on as well.
I can not make OUTGOING calls on the 4S it says I must re-enable Airplane Mode; however, I can receive calls on the 4S as long as the 6Plus is on the same WiFi network.

Deleted folder and icon will work only on Personal folders

I have tested and found that inside Outlook 2007 there is Delete Folder ocon but it works only inside Personal folders not other accounts. Can be set icon to work on all accounts or specific one?

Do you mean the 'X' button that can be used to delete a message or folder?
This button only work for custom folders you created, and it cannot be used to delete Outlook default folders, such as Inbox, Sent Items, Junk Email, etc.
