Work email via Apple's Mail

Hello everyone...real simple question I am sure...
I work for X company. How can I configure my apple mail so that I can get my corporate mail delivered to my apple mail?
THANKS!

Depends on what type of email system your company uses.
The best-in fact the only-way to find out is to ask your company's IT people what the necessary server settings are.

  • Import Hotmail emails to Apple's Mail

I use Apple's Mail program for my primary email but I also have a Hotmail account, but I get so much spam that I want to close it. However, before closing it I would like to import all email from this Hotmail account into Mail but Mail's import feature does not list Hotmail, only "Other". But when I choose "Other" it asks me to select an application but of course Hotmail doesn't show up. Bottom line--how can I import my Hotmail emails into Apple's Mail?

Download this, it works really nice

  • How do I get my email in Apple's Mail program from old drive to new drive?

I can not determine from Apple's support info how to export my email in Apple's Mail program from the old drive to the new drive.
The old 60 GB drive was at 55GB and had 3 volume structure problems. It would not backup all files using SuperDuper!, but I could backup the user files onto an external 250GB Tintanium Fantom Drive. So I installed a new 120 GB in the iMac and took the old 60GB drive and put it in an external firewire drive housing, which mounts, runs and will even act as the startup drive. I installed 10.3.9 on the new 120GB drive. I was able to export the address book over to the new drive with no problems, but I don't know how to export the email.
There does not appear to be an export function in Apple's Mail program (This sounds kind of ???).
I have a lot of email (#???) in a lot folders and subfolders (60) in addition to the inboxes, plus all the sent mail (2,000)

The Mail.app preference file (which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences) is located at Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist.
All Mail.app mailboxes and other data is stored in the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail.
With the Mail.app quit on the new hard drive, place a copy of the Mail folder from the old hard drive at Home > Library on the new drive. If there is an existing Mail folder at Home > Library, this will replace it.
Place a copy of the com.apple.mail.plist file from the old hard drive at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive. If there is an existing com.apple.mail.plist file at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive (and there should be one if you have launched the Mail.app on the new hard drive), this will replace it.
Launch Mail on the new hard drive and the Mail.app should be completely restored or identical to the Mail.app on the old hard drive.

a lot of email that others send me  don't even get to may mailbox.

Your icloud storage must be full, from emails, backups, and other data.
    Go to
Settings>General>Usage.  This tells how much storage is used on both iCloud and on the device.

  • Since 2 days can't send emails via Apple Mail

    Hi,
for 2 days now I'm unable to send emails from Apple Mail.
I have an Hotmail account (using POP3) and a WEB.DE account (using IMAP) connected with Mail. Every time I try to send an email Mail tells me the SMTP server are offline. My mobile.me account though works properly.
To exclude problems with certain ports on my WLAN router I tried to use Thunderbird on my Windows PC with these accounts. Sending emails this way wasn't a problem at all.
Also deleting all accounts and setting them up again didn't make a change...
Even changing the OS back from Lion to SL hasn't made an impact.
Any suggestions what might cause this weird problem?

    Hello P:
Since each one is different, I suspect the best answer to your question lies with your ISP.

  • Corp email via webmail on mail app

Hello, I was made aware that corporate email that uses a cisco vpn is not supported with the current iphone OS. However our company also offers webmail..I was wondering if it is possible to set the mail up to work to pull the email via the webmail onto the iphone mail program?
    Thanks you

I am aware of what webmail is, but because our cisco VPN is not currently supported until the software update early this summer, I was wondering if there is a way to pull the email via the hoarde webmail that we access as well. I can access that from my safari browser, but it is quite cumbersome. Yahoo mail and gmail are all accessible via the mail app and they are webmail, was wondering if anyone with a cisco VPN has had any success rerouting it?

  • How can I edit received emails in Apple's Mail app? Also, delayed sending of replies?

I finally switched to Apple's Mail app 4 months ago after 12 years of using Eudora (because of the inevitable - that Lion or Mountain Lion, when I upgrade, will not support the foundation architecture that Eudora is built on).
There are (AT LEAST) two functions available in Eudora that I very much want to do with Mail and currently cannot figure out how to do. I'm hoping that someone knows of a plugin that will do these functions, or will write such a plugin, or will tell me how to make this suggestion to Apple to include in a future update.
    1) I want the freedom to EDIT a received message - to correct a subject line, or make it more relevant for my reference, or add a key word/prefix to the subject for future searching and archiving, along with being able to edit the message itself, so that it is the equivalent in a book (or an eBook) of adding comments/marginalia for future reference. (In my opinion, once I receive an email message, it is MINE - so I should be able to do what I want with it (which includes the responsibility of not rewriting a message to resend to appear as deceptive or fraudulent).
    2) Write up a draft email, that would reside in the "Send" folder of Eudora, and for which I could select a time in the future that it should be mailed (dependent on the fact that Eudora would be running at that time, else it would send the next time Eudora was opened. I would LOVE to be able to do that in Apple Mail. Rationale: Often, when I receive an actionable email, I want to respond at that moment while the subject is fresh, but due to priorities or scheduling reasons, I don't want the response to go out just then. Maybe I want the response to go out after an event three days from now, but I want to process the message right now, and I don't want to have to remember to make a ToDo item to remind me in 3 days.

    Thanks, a brody.
That tip takes me further down the field. And, I am able to do stuff like indent and change font color of my comments which is very helpful.
However, the big disappointment is that by dragging the original message to the Draft mailbox and then back to the original one after the edits is that it removes the original sender's name and puts mine in along with changing the heading info on date and time. That is, it creates a new message, rather than allowing me to modify the original one to suit my needs.
All the same, this was a very helpful tip. Thanks again.
Anyone know of a plugin?..............or two?....

  • Creating html email with apple's mail

How do i get an html page (created in Dreamweaver) to show up in apple's mail window?
I want the html page to display. If I just attach the html file all I get is an icon of the file not the look of the html file (ie with background color and placed photo and html text). I know to have the placed image with an absolute reference (ie. http://www.whatever.com/image.jpg)

Tiger Mail uses Apple's new WebKit authoring engine, creating complex HTML email messages with Mail's trademark simplicity. However, most of the power of that engine is inaccessible. Aside from the addition of an "Add Hyperlink…" menu item, Mail's composition window offers no better text or layout controls than 10.0's Mail did in 2001.
Tiger was replaced by Leopard last October, and Leopard Mail has a new feature called Stationery which might provide some of what you are talking about:

  • Sending work emails via orange livebox

Ok...i have a major headache. I am using an orange wireless livebox to connect to the internet while at home (which works fine). The problem i have is that i can not send work emails from home. I should imagine it has something to do with the outgoing server address being different in work to home, but even when i manually put the orange outgoing server add in preferences, the mail wont send. Does anyone else have this problem as it is doing my head in now. I was using ntl for my broadband up until i switched to orange and had zero problems with this work email from home...Why on earth would it be so different now? And yes, i have just phoned orange and had to spell out my complaint to an Indian lady who didnt understand me anyway!...Im losing the will to live here. HELP HELP HELP

Ahh yes, im sure i can get it to work by putting in the orange outgoing server address, but its so frustrating. It worked perfectly with NTL from home before...I just dont understand why orange have to be so different.

  • Virgin email via Apple Mail problem

Hi - The search facility is temporarily down on this site, so I thought I'd post this to see if others have the same problem or there's a solution.
I'm in the UK and Virgin Media are my provider. I have a primary POP email account with them and a number of aliases within that account. But just recently two of my accounts have 'gone down', i.e. they are greyed out on the left menu.
I can still send from the accounts, but cannot receive. I can also log onto web mail without any issues, but mail is simply not downloading to Mail on my desktop. If I delete an account and set it up from scratch, it's fine again... but the problem re-occurs after a week or so.
I have spoken to Virgin support a couple of times and on the last occasion they have said there is nothing obviously wrong at their server end and it must be an Apple Mail problem... most frustrating!
    Any clues anyone?

After a recommendation from support at Virgin, I had to close down the accounts and set them up again. Unfortunately they didn't warn me that I would lose all of my email!!!

  • Can't send emails via Apple account (smpt errors)

I've been having this problem, on again and off again, for over two months. I even did live chats with Road Runner about the issue. It seems to be temporarily resolved. I've been getting these error messages:  Can't send message with using the server stmp-server.neo.rr.com.
The server response was: 4.1.8 - Domain of recipient does not resolve [R0309001]
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server.  All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
    or
The server response was: 5.5.2 RCPT TO syntax error
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server.  All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
My SSL is unchecked, there's no password for authentication, my port numbers and server emails are fine. Well, except the smtp. one. It keeps saying smpt, when I fixed it so many times. Is there any way to fix this problem on my six year old Imac. It's ok to send an email out to one person, but not more than one. I have the same troubles at the RR website.

Many ISP mail servers are restricted and will not permit mail to be sent that originates from outside their network (which the cellular data network is).
Check with the mail provider to see if you need to use a different SMTP server when using a mobile device.

  • Is anyone else having trouble sending email via O2 using Apple Mail (However, I can receive fine)

Since the upgrade to Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) I have noit been able to send email via Apple Mail through the O2 network in the UK. O2 say they are aware of this but that it is something that Apple need to address via a patch.

Following a 45 minute call to O2 yesterday I've just had a further conversation with O2 who advised me to change my 'port setting' to 25. Mail now works fine! Panic over.

  • Verizon email via Mac Mail totally locked out/unresponsive since abt Sept 17th

What am I to do to get Verizon mail working again, as it always had, with my Mac Mail client, from overseas?
I have NO email access to verizon via my Mac Mail client at all. 995 & 465 ports time out after long, futile waiting periods, never to connect.
Webmail via Safari is ok, tho very sluggish when trying to sign in.
But I must access Verizon email via my Mac Mail client. Webmail is not reliable for me.
I am often in germany, where I use Telekom (t-online) for my internet connection, & have no problem with my t-online email which has the same exact pop/smtp settings as the Verizon email accts.
& have had no problem with verizon email whatsoever for the last 8 years.... until Sept 18th.
Verizon's Support chat y gave me a runaround & a brush-off with false advice & absurd info. (I'd saved the transcript & confirmed my suspicions by showing it to other colleagues who are computer saavy professionals). Altho the Verizon support chat admitted forum reports that overseas accts were suddenly locked out due to some security issue, they did not offer that info without my first suggesting it & then they claimed that my problem must be with Apple's Servers!
(my verizon email does not go thru any apple server, excuse me?!?)
I can not call any verizon 800 numbers from outside the USA & no alternative non-toll-free numbers are offered on any Verizon site that I can find.
No email address is offered for any Verizon support.
I do not use any social network (eg Facebook or Twitter).
So what am I to do to get Verizon mail working again, as it always had, with my Mac Mail client, from overseas?

  • HT3702 I was send an email from apple asking me to update my credit card information or my account will be cancelled within 48hours is this a valid email from apple or fraud ??

I was send an email via apple stating that I need to update my credit card information or my account will be cancelled in 48hours. Is this a valid email or fraud. I had the iphone for more than 2 years and did not receive a similar email

It's a phishing attempt to get your account and payment details (Apple don't send emails like that) . If you still have the email then you could forward it to Apple : [email protected]
