Work flow with CRM

Hi Experts,
I have created the workflow on CRM system. I am using the object type BUS2000115.But the workflow is not getting triggered. In event trace in swels, Its showing 'Check FM with exception' error.
Also in swo1, the status of the object is implemented. Its not allowing me to release the object.
Do I need to do any customiztion to activate the workflow in CRM?

It's nice to see someone telling us what system they're working on. Something which is too rare these days....
Anyway, status implemented is fine. The event is also being triggered, so your application is also fine.
However there is a check function that is preventing the event from triggering the workflow. This is a normal design technique to filter workflows so they don't start for all events.
Either you have a start condition which you can see in the workflow builder -> header -> start events or in SWB_COND, or else there is a custom function module which you can see in SWETYPV for your object (if the FM is SWEVALCOND or something similar then it is calling start conditions, anything else is something specific to that WF).

Automating work flow with Shared Reviews

Is there a way to manage the work flow with shared reviews? In other words, I have a pdf document I need to send out for review. I have several people on my review team, and I want them to look at in in sequence rather than all at the same time. Person A to make comments first, and then pass it on to person B.
Is there a way to set up reviews so that Person A gets to review the document first, and then when they are done, it notifies person B that the document is ready to be reviewed?
As far as I can tell, the way it is set up currently is a free for all and there is no organization - I would like to avoid doing this manually.

By server information, I mean the server type (webDAV/SharePoint/Network folder/Acrobat.com) on which you initiate the review in A9. What option do you choose during shared review initiation?
What is the error message that you get on opening A9 created files in A10? Can you send me one such testfile at ambooATadobeDOTcom (the one created in Acrobat 9)?

Ajay,
Your question is a little vague as you don't have a business scenario for your workflow related requirements.
I will say that if the workflow process does not involve switching out of CRM and only involves steps in CRM, then traditional workflow will work fine. If you need to do something where the steps involve multiple systems then guided procedures would be a better solution.
Perhaps if you share more of your scenario you will get some better ideas on how to go about it.

well usage in real time scenario.
i will give you an instance of what i have implemented in one of my project.
lead management comprises of creating lead,managaing lead,their statuses from open to in process to won by sales
so there is a complete sales cycle which has to follow if a Lead has to be won.
first of all we use lead object in workflow
which is BUS2000108,
then we use this lead object to drive it from open status to status till lead is finally won.
there is alwasy ssome action at each and every status.
for instance we have following status of lead to manage
open
in process
cancelled
won
lost
and there are number of reasons for each and every status.
let us say whenever we create the lead it is open by default,
so the status is changed to in process whenever some documents of the prospect is submitted to the designated authority,
after it is in process it may be cancelled or lost or won depending upon the reasons we have for the every status to which we are changing the lead,
this way you see the workflow works in a very dynamic environment,
everytime the prospect is changed,its products are changed and requirement is also changed but still the basic things that we have to use like statuses and the reasons associated with them still remain the same
so we use the basic data to process the lead from open to the complete status.
always remember the workflow should never be statutory like it is working under certain set of conditions ,instead it should be fully equipped to meet uncertain situations and challenges,thats why it can be called dynamic.
so thats the process of the workflow we concentrated on

Work Flow with FCP and color correction

I am looking for a decent workflow between FCP and motion when I need to apply color correction to the clips.
I have a goup of clips in FCP that I would like to send to motion, animate them and send them back to FCP. Problem is I want to use FCP for the color correction- nicer than motion's. The, all bad options I have come up with are:
1. color correct in FCP and then send to Motion- will not work because filters are not applied in send.
2. Export the clips as one QT self containned movie- I lose the clip partitioning.
3. Exports individual clips to QT then into Motion- I lose the clip ordering
4. Color correct after I get back into FCP from Motion- clip boundaries are lost making applying color correction harder.
Any ideas?

I've done this two ways - both variations on the methods you have outlined. First and simplest and one I used last week on a PSP project was to apply the color correction to the Motion clip (.motn file) after it came back from Motion. This is simple and easy, but if you've done titling, you may not want to color correct that.
The second is as you said to render and export a self contained movie, then import it and copy it onto the timeline above the original clip that produced it, thus (at least organizationally) maintaining a connection between them. I then send the quicktime to Motion.
Sorry I cannot think of another better way of doing it...

Can I run a feedback collection workflow ( with task) to people who have no edit permission? If not how can I create a workflow to accomplish that?

So, You mean a user can provide feed back in a workflow without having edit permissions to the document? what permission setting should i put for my users?

i am new to WF,
it was not clear, actually i want to integrate the work flow with BPM in PI (Process Integration 7.0.
i am trying to create WF part in the SAP R/3, for the the Aproval part, because PI 7.0 doesnt have the feature User decision. So i am trying to push the data of Leave details to the WF and trigger the WF in the R/3 through a proxy program.
For creating Work flow, is Bussiness Object needed? What is the use of it, but i dont have any Business object for my Leave details, What to do?
My actual thought is,
1. create srcreen in SAP R/3, which has all the relevent fields of Leave details like emp_id, start date, end date, leave balance. i will put user commands(push buttons) like Approve, Reject, change.
In Wf this screen should apear with the leve fields with the corresponding values and push buttons.
once the manager or aprover clicks any the push buttons, in the next step the corresponding action should be done.
in this, is it possible to put the logic to capture the status of the WF like approved or Rejected? and send it back to the program in which this WF called?
Is it possible? or is there any alternative solution?
here in this i have query, how can i proceed? and what are the pre requisits to create WF?( like Busines Objects, triggring events, sep sequences, contaner elements, data base tables and structures etc.) and how do i create it?
can you give me the code? and Tcodes, to maitain events, etc....

Work flow RAW - JPG conversion question

I am still not only working on Aperture's features but learning also the best way to manage a work flow with it. So, here's what I want to do.
#1 - I have an external drive coming so I don't have to store all my pictures (many of them now RAW)on my Macbook Pro's internal hard drive. I really don't need the RAW files anymore that I have used to create the final versions, which Aperture now stores as either TIFF or PSD files. I really just need to have my final versions stored now as JPG files now that I am done editing. Do I just export the files I want from my MacBook Pro onto the new hard drive as JPGs, then re-import them into Aperture as another project/folder?
#2 - When I import new RAW images from my camera, edit them and have completed the project, many times I just want to save the final versions as JPGs and discard the RAW files. Is there an easy way to do this within Aperture versus exporting them, deleting the original files, and re-importing as JPGs as new project?

That may be a good point. I will need to calc it out. My new drive coming in is a 750 Gig 800-Firewire drive.
I have currently a 320gig drive on a server that I use only for pictures. Shooting JPG, it was about half full for about 6 months of shooting. When I started shooting RAW in the last month, the drive is now almost full. I have 12 Gig left on it.
I do weddings, model shoots, portraits, event documentations...lots of stuff so I take a LOT of pictures. I really don't keep everything (blurry shots, half-closed eyes on subjects, etc), but I do keep a lot.

I may just try it with keeping the RAW files there and see how it does with file storage. Backup of files that large in quantities that large is going to be another question all together. Looks like I need a big job so I can buy a DROBO.

Hi
You need to check with your CRM UI Consultant if HTML Tags are read and rendered.
Screens in SOST are rendered using HTML and hence you can see the links. You may face the same issue if you send to outlook and if outlook settings do not support HTML.... whereas it may work on Yahoo or Gmail as the web page will render using HTML.
So, check with your UI colleagues as to how HTML tags can be displayed correctly.
