Work in scale with Ink & Slide?

Is it possible to work in scale with the Ink & Slide, setting up a certain scale when starting up a sketch, and have rulermarks beside the Slide....?
/M

See this thread, you aren't the only one:  Is there or will there be a way to draw accurate measured lines and curves in Line?
When I show this to other designers, the first response is 'Cool.  Can you draw in scale?'

    I am having major issues with links in keynote! Even though the links (a navigation system) are on the master page, they are only working on some of my slides. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this or similar issues? Help!
    I have created a navigation system on the master pages and set the presentation to links only mode. I also have other links scattered throughout the program, like a linkable table of contents, etc. Some of them work, some of them don't. Not sure why. Anyone out there having similar issues? Or have any idea on how I can solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Links should not create any problems in Keynote.  If they are set up correctly on text, the text will be underlined. Objects that have links will have a curved arrow bottom right, if you click the arrow a popup will display the link information.
    Try this repair for Keynote,  ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

    delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

    empty the trash:  Finder > Empty Trash

    Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
    When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
    If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.

    Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive

    when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click  repair disc permissions

    when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

    install Keynote from the Mac App Store
    let us know if this helped

  • How come querystring variables don't work with Flash Slide Presentations

    How come querystring variables don't work with Flash Slide
    Presentations
    When I create a regular new Flash FLA and publish it I can
    add a querystring to the file name in the object tag and get that
    value back in the flash move like this:
    myflashfile.swf?myname=andrew
    But when I try the same thing using a new Flash Slide
    Presentation with screen, it doesn't work.
    Is there something I'm missing that I'm not aware of or does
    the Flash Slide Presentation not support the use of querystrings?
    I have tried this using a mix of PC and Mac with MX2004 Pro
    and Flash 8 Pro.
    Any reference links or ideas are much appreciated.

  • Talking head with ppt slides... Best Practice?

    My video sequence is 1080i60 (1440x1080) and is about two hours long...
    The talent is green screened speaking to 60 slides that are off camera.
    My final output is going to be a combination of just the talent on the screen, just the slides on the screen, or the talent scaled down to the lower-left with the slides behind him news anchor style over his left shoulder.
    I am wrestling with keyframes, trying to scale him down and then back up.. and same with the slides... so.. I am looking for ideas/best practices... I must admit, my keyframing skills are still being developed...
    Should I just create 60 separate video clips (one for each slide) and position each clip accordingly or should I keep the one clip and use keyframes to scale up and down?
    Regarding the slides... I have tried exporting them as TIFF files from PowerPoint and now I don't know how to properly scale them so they look good either as full screen or behind the shoulder. I want to make sure they are still readable by the viewer.
    I also experimented with importing them into KeyNote and then exporting as QT file. The slides look better as a QT file but I am having trouble marking just one slide at a time and placing it in the timeline simulating a 'still'. I am now having trouble extending the duration of that freezeframe still for the length of the audio for that particular slide...
    Has anyone done this before? Once I get this figured out, then I can go to town for each slide making the appropriate adjustments... but, now I just don't know which path works best...
    Thanks in advance for your expertise and insight.

    trying to scale him down and then back up.. and same with the slides
    It's up to you, but I think I'd find it rather distracting to have the slides and the presenter zooming up or down. Why not just cut to a full frame of a slide or a full frame of the presenter when needed? But like I said, it's up to your own tastes and style.
    I have tried exporting them as TIFF files from PowerPoint and now I don't know how to properly scale them so they look good either as full screen or behind the shoulder
    PowerPoint presentations seldom look good on TV. The people that create them usually don't take TV (and its limitations) into consideration when creating the slides. If you have one of the few presentations that looks OK on TV and you did mention that they looked better as a QuickTime movie, you can always import the movie file into your FCP project and then create still frames from the movie (shift n) then set whatever duration you want.

  • Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time?

    Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time? Or even add a "video slide" into the screensaver?
    My business has 3 TVs displayed in our lobby, each with its own apple TV and they are all linked to the same photo stream. Currently the Atv screensaver displays the photostream pictures of our products for the default 3 seconds. We just added pics/slides that now display messages and useful info for our customers but I want that info to be displayed for a longer period of time than the pictures to give people a chance to read it.
    I tried using flickr and powerpoint as a work around but no luck.  I created a slide in powerpoint with play length of 15 secs and saved it as a wmv file.  I added that file to a "screensaver" set in flickr and pointed the Atv screensaver to that flickr set.  It still displays everything, pics and the wmv file at the default 3 sec.
    I know I can increase the duration of all pics in the screensaver to display for longer but the goal is to have the pics display at 3 secs and the info slides to display at 15 secs.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    No that's not possible.
    If you have any suggestions that you think might enhance the Apple TV you can send Apple your feedback here

  • Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome

    Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome. Works in IE. This is my first time trying to post a question - so please be kind. I am also not good with code and am finding css a real challenge after learning to design based on tables. I'm using CS5.
    The "test" page with the slide show is: http://www.reardanwa.com/index-slides.html   The same page without the slide show is http://www.reardanwa.com/
    I realize the images are not ideally sized - I'll fix those once I get the pages to function.  Maybe I need a different slide show? I would prefer a widget that I can modify to required size & postition. Again - I'm not good at building with code from scratch.
    The problem is the naviagation links that are directly next to the slide show do not work in Firefox of Chrome. They do work in IE.
    I've read about using jQuery.noConflict(); code but can't figure out the correct way to use it in my case or whether that's even part of the solution. I know my code is not well organized as I have cobbled together from various sources in an attempt to format the page the way the client wants it. Also, FYI, I will eventually try to make the page work in Surreal CMS.
    I've spent sevaral days over the last several weeks trying to solve sth slide show/navigation conflict - so any specific light you can shed will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • **HELP** Need to print keynote with each slide taking the full page

    I just put a keynote presentation together and saved it as a powerpoint. Now that I am trying to print it, the slide only takes a small portion of the page. I need to make sure the slide fits standard letter size and fits the whole page. I want to print one slide per page and have a presentation tomorrow. please help and thank you

    Welcome to the forums!
    You don't give any detail - what, exactly, you are doing (keystrokes, etc.), which program you're trying to print from (KN or PP), and what your settings are, so I'll guess: you're trying to print from KN. When you try to PRINT, in the window which appears you have checked "Slides with Notes". Those notes, even if there's nothing written there, are probably what's taking away space from the slide on your print-out. Instead, check "Individual Slides" (you should see the results of this reflected in the example print-out on the left: the slide should now take up most of the page, rather than just the upper portion of it). To make your slide even a bit bigger, make sure "Use page margins" (under OPTIONS) is unchecked.
    If I've guessed wrong, or my solution doesn't work, come back with more details.
    Good presentation!

  • Swf files that scale with the browser

    I uploaded a swf file with dreamweaver as a stand alone window and it works fine.  How do I get the swf file to scale larger or smaller as the user adjusts their browser window larger and smaller?  I would like to get the swf file to scale along with the browser window.  I posted this in dreamweaver but was told this is an action script issue.

    I found a simple solution, and I believe it is what you are looking for.
    1. In Flash, go to File>Publish Settings
    2. Click on the HTML Tab
    3. Where is says Dimensions, select Percent
    4. Though it is probably default, make sure the width and height are both set to 100.
    5. Click ok then go to File>Publish
    Now your movie should scale with the browser window.
    If you do not have Flash, then you can simple work with this sample code below:
    <object width="100%" height="100%" id="xyz" align="middle">
        <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
        <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
        <param name="movie" value="xyz.swf" />
        <param name="quality" value="high" />
        <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
        <embed src="xyz.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="100%" height="100%" name="xyz"
        align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
        pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
    </object>
    Notice how width and height are set to "100%"? That's all you need.

  • Read data of sartorius scales with RS232 interface

    Dear users,
    I have to use a Sartorius scales with a RS232 interface.
    In the attachment you see the program with which I try to read the data of this device – so far not successfully.
    Therefore I have several questions:
    Could somebody tell me if the structure of my program is correct? I think so, because I saw that other people created similar code. But I am not totally sure about this.
    To read data of the scales, I have to send a print control to the device. In the manual of the device is written that the print command is as in the attached picture. They mention that ESC = Escape, CR = Carriage return, LF = Line feed.
    So, how do I write this command correctly? Do I have to write in a string ESCPCRLF, or ESC P CR LR or ESC,P,CR,LF, or…? I am really totally lost here because I have never worked with such an interface so far.
    I do not have a RS232 interface on my computer, so I use an USB to serial adapter. Do I have to adapt the baud rate etc. of my adapter in the windows device manager to the values of my scales?
    When I run my program, the number of bytes at serial port is always 0. Could this be that I use next to my USB to serial adapter another adaptor to connect the 9-pin USB connector to the 25-pin connection of my scales - perhaps a connection is wrong?
    I really would appreciate your help much!!

    Thank you for your reply.
    Searching for drivers was one of the first steps I did. But unfortunately my device is so old (about 25 years) that there is no driver. I also tried to work with the programs of the LabVIEW LLB which are available from your link, but there I also get the 1073807339 error code.
    Checking the cabling is for sure a good idea. So far it seems to be fine.
    Thank you for your hint that the use of delays and the Bytes at Serial Port is incorrect.
    But why is Bytes at Port then mentioned in this NI-document:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/874B379E24C0A0D686256FCF007A6EA0
    There they also mention the delay which should be used for older instruments. Since my device is about 25 years old, I thought that the use of wait is a good idea.
    But perhaps you are right. So, could you please correct my program then? As I mentioned, I have never worked so far with the RS232 interface, so I really would be glad if somebody corrects my code.
    Unfortunately, what NI doesn't tell you is that "Bytes at Serial Port" is a last resort, to be used only if you have no other way to figure out if a device has completed sending data.  Since you have a marker - the line feed termination character - I would configure the VISA serial port to use it, and then discard the white space (the CR) at the end.  That way you read exactly the data and don't have to insert a wait to make sure everything was read.
    IMHO - If you have to insert a "wait" in between commands, you probably don't fully understand how to communicate with the equipment.  Of course, I have worked with power supplies that are so "dumb" that the programming guide says that you have to wait x milliseconds for a command to process!

  • Is anyone using iPhoto having a problem with the slide show using shatter where it does not let you put a title over photo?

    Is anyone using iPhoto having a problem with the slide show using shatter where it does not let you put a title over photo? It use to work but it no longer lets you place a title over the opening photo.

    Is your signature still current?(iPhoto '08, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4))    I can confirm this for iPhoto '11; Shatter will only show the text slide title between the slides. Ken Burns and Classic theme can still be set to overlay the caption and title directly over the slides.
