Hi Experts,
Can you tell me how to create a Tab page in work item display. Please provide the step by step procedure.

For having a tab in the workitem dispaly you need to use screen painter for the same, go to txn SE 51 and build a custom screen with the tabs, once your screen is active then call the same screen in the workitem preview tab of task or a much better option that i feel is calling the screen in a task and assigning the task itself as an activity in the workflow.

    "i looked in SWI1 to see who processed it. But it is not showing any parituclar agent name. "
    Maybe nobody has process it, which is why it went overdue and passed the deadline.
    If it's a dialog task and it's completed then there must be an agent attached to it.
    Look in the workflow builder to see how the deadline is set up for that step. It could be that it just issues a notification.

  • Administrator Check work item displayed to all users.

    Dear All,
    Following Workitem which is created from Leave workflow is appearing commonly to all users.
    there approx. 200 Workitems as HR Administrator: Check Request Data with R/3 Data
    As SAP suggested , we have removed the binding in Administrator Check Task. wast that  the problem ?
    When I check the table SWWUSERWI, all these workitems are not there.
    From where system picking up these administrator Check workitems and what will be the solution ?

    SAP is suggesting to apply the Note - 779075.
    Note says-
    The application "LeaveRequestAdmin" is not released. Use transaction
    SWFVISU to delete the following entry:
    TS12300104 WebDynpro Java
    APPLICATION LeaveRequestAdmin
    PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea
    You must then register the work items again. For more information about
    registering work items, see the UWL documentation.
    Rule binding for 60100010   HRA dmin is removed. But Terminate if RUle Resolution wiout result is ticked.
    How to Register the workitem again ?

  • Why do my work item display only in Preview pane

    Hi,
    I am trying to display my workitem in a full window but when I double click or execute it, it always displays in a preview pane. Is there a trick to make it display full screen.

    Thanks for your quick response. It is not general setting for sure. It displays in a full window with other already existing workflows in the system. It doesnt happend with the WF's that I just developed.
    I checked every aspect with existing stuff but could not figure out what is happening.

  • How to delete work items

    Hi,
    I'm using XI 3.0 and am trying to delete some Work Items that are sitting in Error status.
    I've tried following OSS note 807906 but cannot see the menu items mentioned (specifically the Edit=>Change option) - can someone explain more clearly how to delete them?

    Here is summary of OSS Note:
    "First make sure that the process is actually 'irretrieveably lost', that is, that it has not simply encountered a temporary error (for example, the failure of synchronous sending and so on).
    If you are certain that the process is no longer required, call the log of the affected process (using the process selection (SWF_XI_SWI1)) or the SXMB_MONI, ... and display the work item of the process (Workflows).
    Go to the technical work-item display (if this is not displayed by default) and then select Edit => Change there.
    Under 'Services for Administration', select the 'Logical Deletion' function.
    This function is used to set the process to the 'Logically Deleted' status and to delete all outstanding correlations. The process has then reached its final status and can also be archived"

  • Alignment of body for work item via SWNCONFIG

    As per my present client scenario, every work item will be sent to UWL and external mail also. It means, user wants to execute the work item from external mail (Gmail or outlook)through SWNCONFIG transaction. Here my issue is as follows.
    I am getting the below issue when work item goes to external mail.
    Body sequence is out of alignment as you can see it in Red color below(You can observe the placement of the symbol u2018:u2019 is out of alignment).

    Hi!
    You can try playing around with mail formats in SWNCONFIG, provided work item text is formatted using tabs, however I do not think that will help. You should format task description using SAPscript formatting symbols - SWN_SELSEN should convert it to correct output format.
    Or you can create work item description in HTML - that should keep formatting everywhere. Use tab "Work item display" in your WF step, there is a demo f-n module SWL0_PREVIEW_DEMO_HTML that can be used as example.

  • Reg : Button Option in Work item

    Hi All,
    I want to display a button in workitem. When user click on it. it keep the workitem in the inbox and take him to message creation where he can write his query and send it.
    Let me explain it. The requirement is that  when any workitem is created. it will go to user1 and he approvers then it will move to another user ..like that.
    but if the user4 have some doubts about it. it will send his query to the creator.as of now. he have to postpone it and send his query. but when the work-item is created again ..it will follow the same path.

    You have tried to explain your problem in some detail. That is good. There is however room for some improvement.
    E.g. it is essential here to know where you want your button. You say "in work item". Do you mean in work item display? Do you mean when the user executes the work item? In the latter case it depends on your particular step. If it is a decision task step you have control over 4 buttons. All 4 alread used - out of luck. If it is not a decision task step the button will probably have to be displayed in some transaction.
    It is also helpful to know your SAP release.
    It is also helpful to know which type of Business Object you are using.
    In short, it is useful to know some specifics, not just a general description of the process without information about object types, events, transactions, standard workflows or tasks in use etc.
    Perhaps using Generic Object Services can solve the problem. Sure, it means training the users instead of creating exactly what they ask for - but once they learn it they will appreciate it and can use it for other purposes and in other solutions as well.
    However, GOS is not available in all transactions, and that is one reason why it would be useful to know the type of Business Object or exact transaction you are using.
    In a SAP Business Workflow Mike Pokraka recently described how you can send a work item to someone else with a query. Always possible as it does not depend on Generic Object Services for the object in the work item. They would have to specify the recipient themselves, just as if they use GOS from the object transaction. Again, training users to use SAP standard functionality instead of creating custom functionality.
    Downside ... custom functionality is what keeps most of us employed.

  • Work item not getting displayed in the portal

    Hi  experts,
    We are creating a protoype for one of the standard HCM form for change in working time. When we initiate the process, the workflow is supposed to identify the agent(which is the manager in this case) and push the work item in the inbox of the manager.
    In our issue, we are able to see the workitem in SAP inbox, but the same work item is not getting displayed in the portal.
    If we try to approve from the SAP inbox, the hard coded message u201CWork item can only be executed using the Portal and the UWLu201D comes. [this comes through the method of  one of the tasks 17900101 which we are using for approving the form]
    We commented the message by using a Z class. Now we donu2019t get the hardcoded message, but still the workflow does not complete from here.
    Can this be aan integration issue of the workflow tasks with the portal??Can someone elaborate on this??

  • Invalid URL error when displaying Work Item Attached URL Object in UWL

    After upgraded from EP6 to EP7 the user can no longer display the attached URL object of work items in the UWL Inbox.  It works fine in the SAPGUI Inbox so the URL should be okay.  We found below error messages in UWL log file:

    Looks like the error is related to the back slashes in the URL but it was working fine in EP6.  We are going to change the back slashes to forward slashes to see it will work.  We would like to know if any SDNer’s can provide some more detail on why this is happening and if there is other solution.  Any hint will be very appreciated.

    Use link attachment or add button action to UWL as possible workaround. It appears that work item text can only be displayed as-is.

    Hi Folks: I have posted this query in the EP Implementation forum but no response yet. Please see if anyone can advise
    If a user opens a work-item in the UWL, closes the browser window, and then opens another item on the UWL list, the new window still pops up the details of the previous work item. I tried looking at the cache parameters but with no luck.
    The undesirable workaround to the above problem is to refresh the page every minute via the parameter refresh="60" in the uwl.standard file in the
    View name= DefaultView
    Can someone advise a possible fix?

    Hi,
    As far as showing the name of the previous processor in the UWL is concerned, i believe its not possible, as Harsimran says. But there can be various workarounds.
    One is that in the second action of the process, you can give a text area or some input field in the callable object; the second processor can write something in this field, and this field can then be mapped to third screen, which tells the 3rd processor that it has been reviewed.
    Another neat solution is that, make a callable object of type:
    <b>User Management</b> -> <b>Read User Information</b>
    This callable object extracts the user information from the user who has logged into the portal and returns a lot of other information like firstname, lastname etc as output parameters. You can map these parameters to your third action and use it to display some message, say:
    <b>The review has been done by <FirstName></b>

    Just add a new element in the task container (input variable) and add the variable to the Task text. Don't forget to pass the value from the WF container to the Task.

    One of the pages I am working on is blocked and I cannot delete/change items displayed there. I have unlocked all the layers but still cannot access the content on that page. Thoughts?

    I'm using version 9.2.1. on a mac
    I'm helping edit some maps for the company I work for. The pages are regular A3
    The map part is not blocked, but the second page with the descriptions/text will not let me make any changes to it. I cannot select anything on the page including the images.
    I am trying to edit the text provided and rearrange the page layout accordingly.
    I thought this was a "layer" problem, but this does not seem to be the case.

    When i use adopt substitution (Passive substitution) i am able to see the workitems of the absent user in my inbox. At the same time the workitems belonging to me disappears from my inbox. I have to manually End my Substitution to work on my workitems.
    I want to have all the workitems to be available in my inbox at the same time? (Just like a n active substitution) I found the below link and it states,

    The <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/45/a142428e999923e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">documentation from SAP</a> clearly states that this is a new option in NetWeaver 2004s, so unless you are using that version (or a later version when one arrives) you will not find it.
    Anyway, it seems that the option is available in your personal workflow settings as you say (inlcuding the customizing of defaults).

  • Displaying URL (in work item description) as Hyperlink in UWL

    Hi experts,
    I have successfully configured my UWL to retrieve and display work items under "Tasks" tab.
    However some of the work items contain a URL which I would like to display as a hyperlink (i.e. clicking on the hyperlink opens a new browser window and takes the user to the specified location). Currently the UWL displays these URL as plain text.
    I tried to add HTML tags: &lt;a href="http://www.abc.com"&gt;http://www.abc.com</a> to denote the URL as a hyperlink. The URL was correctly interpreted as a hyperlink on SAP inbox (transaction code SBWP). However, when it is accessed via UWL, the HTML tags are incorrectly displayed in plain text.
    Please kindly advise whether any configuration can be done to the UWL such that it will correctly recognize and display the URL as a hyperlink. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Lionel,
    You can't directly do what you want with the workitem text, but there is perhaps a workaround.  If you make the URL available as an element in the workitem container and include it in the text that way, you will preserve the original functionality, but more importantly you will then be able to configure a custom action in the UWL which refers to this URL. The result will be visible to your users as a seperate link or button in UWL.
