Work Manager 6.1 Sizing Guide Query

Hi,
Looking at the official Work Manager 6.1 sizing guide and comparing it to the Work Manager 6.0 guide and it seems there has been a large jump in the suggested hardware for SMP.
I understand the WM6.0 runs on SMP 2.3 and WM6.1 is on SMP 3.0, but I'm surprised that the difference seems so large.
E.g. For a medium landscape with 1000 syncs/hour:
Work Manager / SMP
SMP SAPS (suggested)
Work Manager 6.0
2,000
Work Manager 6.1
55,500
Could someone clarify why this would be?
Thanks,
Stephen

The Sizing Document has been updated for the SMP Server and appear to be much more reasonable.
The SAP ABAP & DB Server recommondations are still the same and don't seem right.
E.g
Large Data Volume & 2000 syncs/hr
SAP DB Server -  393,500 SAPS
SAP ABAP Server - 127,500 SAPS
From the Sizing benchmarks an IBM Server with 271,080 SAPS has 8 Processors / 120 Cores / 1TB of RAM
Cheers,
Stephen

  • SAP Work Manager 6.0 Query

    Hi Experts,
Can somebody tell me what BAPIs run in background when transmitting a Work Order from SAP Work Manager WPF Client to ECC?
Also, what post installations are required after installing Work Manager?
All I have done are the following:
    /SMERP/SAP_WORK_MANAGER_60_REF ( Work Manager 6.0 base)
/SMERP/SAP_WORKMGR_60_EHP5_REF ( Work Manager 6.0 with LAM & inspection rounds)
    Activated switch /SMERP/EPH5_EAM_BUS_FUNC (using LAM)
What are the post installations for Push Scenario? Is that post installation required for transmitting a Work Order from a client to SAP backend?

I would suggest revieiwng the documentation as it includes the post installation steps that must be taken when installing the product.

  • Work Manager API in Sun Java Application Server 8.1

I am trying to build a parallel application using Work Manager api (javax.resource.spi.work.WorkManager;)
I studied the Websphere implementation of WorkManager there you need to make JNDI lookup for work manager and then use it to submit the work.
My question is if i make class which will implement the javax.resource.spi.work.WorkManager; interface and use that class to submit the work and execute it in parallel then will that class will handle the resource management and all j2ee services
Do we have separate implementation of work manager API for Sun Java Application Server 8.1 (any jar like asynch.jar in IBM websphere) so that we will just create a work manager using admin console and make JNDI lookup and use it
    Please guide me

Before I start, disclaimer -- I have no knowledge of Hibernate and the following comments are based on the stack trace you have included.
I think your permissions might be set all right but you might have an error in the hibernate query. It looks like hibernate uses antlr to parse the queries. While parsing the query, antlr is encountering an exceptional condition and is trying to exit the VM (by calling System.exit()). Obviously, the hibernate code does not have that permission and therefore the exception is logged.
My guess is if you fix the query such that hibernate/antlr can parse it, you will not run into this error.
    Hope this helps,

  • SMP3.0 Sizing Guide for Agentry Apps

    Hi All,
I'm looking for a sizing guide for Agentry Apps (Work Manager in particular) on SMP3.0. I only found the SMP2.3 sizing guide and the quicksizer has a SMP3.0 entry but only seems to refer to Mobilizer and Odata.
Has anyone SMP3.0 Agentry sizing information to share?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
The sizing guide to SAP Work Manager 6.0 is avaliable in SAP Service Marketplace.
Go to http://service.sap.com/instguides > Installation & Upgrade Guides > SAP Components > SAP Work Manager 6.1 or SAP Work Manager 6.0

  • Notification Assignment Type Issue - SAP Work Manager 6.0

    Hello Experts,
We are not able to download notifications on the device for header level work center that is assignment type = 5.
We have done the below configuration.
    - added the user parameter for work center in user profile.
    - changed assignment type to 5 in Notification MDO.
Same configuration is working properly in case of work orders only change is assignment type set to 8 and changed in client global value Wo.AssignmentType to 8.
There is no configuration guide available which explains notification assignment types in SAP Work Manager 6.0.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi,
In the notification MDO data filter, you also need to add a filter to the WORK_CNTR field. It should be user parameter type, with value "VAP".
Also, from memory, I had to disable some other filters that were set out of the box. These were filtering out my data.
    Hope that helps

  • Pool/Crew Management custom development in Work Manager 6.0

    Hi All;
I'm new in the Agentry space, please bear with me. I'm working on a development of bringing in a crew/pool management screen into work manager 6.0. So this functionality should work in the such a way that the user clicks on the screen/tab "Pool Management" and within this screen would be a list of employees within a particular work centre. The user would then be able to tick, which employees he/she would be taking out for an inspection. I've been trying to get a feel or sense of direction of how I would go about with this development within Work Manager 6.0, with no success. Please kindly assist in terms of how I would go about with such a development or maybe if there is a resource that I could refer to, to guide me in bringing the employees onto this screen per work centre and enable the user to tick the relevant employees from the list, individually.
I see that Work Manager already has a table "ctPersonResp" which contains all the employees, But I would like to enable the app user to select/filter employees to select from based on different work centres. How would I display all employees in a given work centre? Also how would I bring about a functionality of being able to choose/select/tick individual users within that work centre? I would greatly appreciate any help/direction in terms of getting this development started.
I'm using SMP 2.3 SP03 with Agentry 6.1.4.179 and am using Agentry WPF client as the testing client.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jason;
You're right, it is a bit confusing when u're getting started, lets hope I get there soon. I think I have pretty much tried to follow as per your guideline of creating the WorkCentre field and the related indexes. I have also gone to create the screen that gets called within the Pool Management screen tab, but somehow, I am not seeing any selection dropdown when I test on the device. Please see the below screenshots for what I have done and kindly guide me as to where I could be going wrong.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Syclo Work Manager 6.1 Deployment Issues

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to Setup Syclo WM 6.1 have issues issues during the setup. I was following the Installation guide from SAP, found a clean and a neat blog from http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56329#comment-506689. I am stuck at an error during deployment of the zip file to SMP 3.0 server as follows:
Can anyone suggest what could be the reason for this?
Søren Hansen hope you can help us. I have other issue which is reported on Syclo Work Manager 6.1 + SAP Connection Issue
    Regards,
    Nagesh
    Tags edited by: Michael Appleby

Your error states that something is null.
You may go inside the SAPCommon-133461.jar library under your Java folder -> com.syclo.sap.connectTest.class and decompile it using your favorite Java decompiler.
    ~~~~~from the code~~~~~~~
    you will see something like:
    _connection.openCustomConnection(clientNum, _userName, _password, "EN", host, sysNum, 1);
    ~~~~~end~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the list above, it takes the data from your javaBE.ini for username, password, host and sysNum and hardcoding the "English - EN".  Most likely the host might be the one at fault from your picture above. It does not know what your host name is under your JavaBE.ini. It is blank hence it does not know where to connect.  May want to try making things Unencoded but you need to study the Java code by de-compiling it so you may know the rules.
Make sure you are also running the connectTest under the Configuration folder of your SMP 3.0. From your picture above: C:\SAP\WM610\..\configuration\com.sap.mobile.platform.server..\javaBE.ini <-- wondering if this is under your SMP 3.0 install configuration folder.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to configure the work manager java code to eclipse?

    Hello all,
I am working with the syclo work manager app. I have successfully installed all components required.
I imported the work manager mobile application and I want to import the standard work manager java code, what is the process to import java code into work space.
Guide me with some screen shots.
When I try to start the WM server it is giving me the following error:
    How to resolve the error.
Please anyone provide me complete setup needed to run the work manager app smoothly.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Swaroopa.

    Swaroopa,
That error is telling you the SAP JCo library cannot find one of the needed DLLs on the system.  The sapjco.jar loads two additional DLL files (sapjcorfc.dll and librfc32.dll).  Both should be installed by default into your ServerDev directory (assuming you are running Agentry 6.0.x).
I would guess it is having trouble loading the librfc32.dll based on the message but confirm both are in the correct location.

  • Work Manager Installation Problem

    Hi Experts,
I'm currently installing PCM Version 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2 with MS SQL Server 2008.
This installation is for a demonstration system, and has all components (database, Application Server, Web Server, etc) installed on one host.
The database has installed successfully and the Msschema script has also ran successfully.
I have been able to install the Primary Application server successfully too.
I am having some difficulty with installing the Work Manager, as follows:
In the Work Manager Options screen (for reference, page 39, point 14 to 18 of the installation guide), I have entered the details as requested by the installation guide.
I have checked that the account entered is the correct administrators account and password (logged on to OS using them), I have checked that the SMTP server and port are correct and have provided the correct path for temporary storage.
The error message that I receive when selecting next is:
Invalid Workflow User - Unable to Login
    Invalid Username or Password
When referring back to the guide, the entry (point 14) is:
In the "Work Manager Options" screen, enter an Administrator user name and password in the User
    Name and Password text boxes.
I can't account for why this is not working - it is a current administrator account that I am using and the guide asks me to enter it.
Has anyone had this issue before, what did you do to overcome it?
    Thanks and regards,
    Chris

First time configuration requires use of PCM administrator account.  The username and password are administrator (lower case).  Afterwards you can log into PCM Model Builder and change the credentials.

  • Cisco call manager user web page guide

    Hi all
Has anyone got a really quick and easy call manager user web page guide? I need one for my users
    cheers
    Carl

Thanks but I've tried all that. It happens in Chrome also. I've tried Opera and it works on that. I've read other forums and it looks like a Java script issue that Chrome and now Firefox Mobile cannot seem to resolve. My preference is Firefox and I'm sure as more tablets get out then this will be solved at some point. I just don't know how it is prioritized. I do know that in order for Androids to be viable in the business sector they need to address issues like these with a higher priority.

  • Work Management Service Application

does anyone have a step by step guide on how to create from scratch a work management service application, i have deleted mine due to issues with task syncs i think it was the configuration of this application that was causing this issue,
    any help welcome.
    Cheers

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create Work Management Service Application.
The following Service Applications must be provisioned before you can deploy the Work Management Service Application:
    Search
    User Profile
In addition to this, the Work Management service account must have some further permissions configured:
Full Control on the User Profile Service Application
    Grant Access To Process Identity
To Create Work Management Service Application, Navigate to Application Management in SharePoint central administration, select Manage Service Application link. In Service applications page, create new Work Management Service Application, and specify the
    details.
After re-create a new Work Management Service Application, we need to:
Create a new Application Pool, but use the same account as for the Application Pool hosting your My Sites/Social or Portal.
    Run a crawl
Incremental, continuous or full crawl should suffice.

  • SAP works manager 6.2 with ESRI maps

    Dear Experts
We are using SAP Work Manager 6.2 with SMP 3.0 (SP05) Agentry and attempting to implement the ESRI location tab in the IOS agentry app but  coming up with the following issue.
we have followed the exact steps in the SAP® EAM and service mobile app SDK Installation Guide with the exception that we are using Xcode 6.1 instead of Xcode 5.  we have  also had to include the System.Configuration framework but apart from this it has gone together without a problem.
We can run the existing SAP Works Manager app on the IPAD so we are able to successfully connect to the SMP agentry server but when we try to run the custom agentry app it halts at the following screen. We have tried different agentry users but with no success.
Could you please suggest if there are any other information available to get this working .
Following are the other SCN links we tried following

    Hi Sid,
Check the SDK version that was used to build your custom Agentry Client. Not the Server version.
From the initial screen click on the Info/About icon to see which version you're using to build your client e.g.
Looking at your image you can see the input field where you're meant to enter the Work Manager URL is behind the header field. I had the same issue when I was using an old version of the SMP SDK / Agentry Client.
I suggest you download the latest SDK version from the SAP Service Marketplace and rebuild a new client using that.

  • SOD violation as per sizing guide

    Hi All,
I have a query regarding sizing for GRC server. As per sizing guide, there are few inputs like total roles and total users in system landscape, which are to be connected to GRC and total violations during per peak hour etc.
I want to know what violation count means in this context -
Is it SOD violation before GRC implementation occuring in system?
Or is it SOD voilation count when GRC is established and we assume that either most of the risks are mitigated and / or remediations are done.
Does this count SATs as well?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sabita

    Hi Experts,
Please excuse me for re-opening this message. Our client wants clear understaning on sizing and I want confirmation before I can convince them.
    Here are my queries-
    1. When we do sizing for RAR, what activities are covered under " Daily Transactional Sizing per hour". We do incremental Sync and Batch risk Analysis, but they run in nights when system is less loaded. So what does it mean"during peak hour"? What else are under transactional sizing-do webservice calls from ERM or CUP are included in it and does Alert Monitor job also falls under it?
    2. What does it mean voilations in context of Risk Analysis? Does it mean actual violations in daily backend transactions or it is only voilations based upon Role/User authorizations? What kind of voilation it includes-permission level all line items(like ME21N ACTVT 01, 02, 03 are 4 voilations or it is only one for one risk?
    3. Under which criteria or parametr should we do sizing for Adhoc risk analysis ( run from Informer tab) .
    4. There is parameter for "initial load" in RAR and CUP. We would like to know why there are two parameters for "initial load" and "daily transactional". They may overlap for sizing purpose because when we do initial it means system is not ready to perform daily tasks. And when we say " Transactional" it means initial load is done. So in this case, the SAPS used in initial load is released for daily transactional task.
    Thanks in advace.
    Regards,
    Sabita
