Work offline with Photoshop files

At our company, we work a lot with Photoshop (Webdesign Firm). We have a Windows-Server environment, and several iMacs. For backup-purposes, we save all work-files on our server. Our Mac-users connect to the server through SMB, and open the PSD-files from there.
Most of the time, this works great. However, the bigger the Photoshop-files, the slower the Macs get. Also, quite often, saving the files to the server fails, resulting in a corrupt file.
To prevent this, I'm looking for a way to work 'offline' on a PSD file. I would like to select a PSD file from the server, mark it as Offline, so it is saved on my local computer. From there I can edit it. And when it has changed, I would like the file being saved on the server automatically.
Are there any programs that can do this?

Working offline with data from Access 2010 web database

Hello all,
I have an Access 2010 web database that I have published to a SharePoint site. Users currently work with the data via one of several Access 2010 front end applications that simply have linked tables and client queires, forms and reports. On a couple
of occasions, we have had issues with our SharePoint site that have left users unable to access the data. A couple of times it was due to our site collection suddenly and inexplicably becoming read only and the last time (while I was on vacation, of course)
due to some license changes my folks were unable to access the site.
I'm getting ready to go on vacation again. What i would like to do is have a sort of emergency back up plan should things go awry again while I'm gone.
What I envision is a back up database that has actual data tables, rather than simply linked lists, that I can sync with my SharePoint lists on a regular basis. That way, should the SharePoint lists become inaccessible, users could continue to work with
the data offline and any changes can be synced once a connection is restored.
I have read through
this article, but in each scenario I was unable to actually open tables to work with the data once offline. Is this a situation where I should simply have folks work offline with a local copy containing all of the data and then republish? Or, is there
a way to simply sync? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm really hoping to leave my laptop at home on this next trip.

Make this simple thing, import the class in your jsp, for example, in your case this should be:
<%@ page import="UserData" %>
The jasper compiler assumes that any unqualified class is part of the package jsps. I think this is to allow class definitions in the jsps. So if you indicate that the class is not packaged in jsps it will be found.

The work offline option can be found from Firefox button -> Web developer or from the menubar toolbar -> Work offline (Or at least thats what happens in Windows).
Have you any other reason for being offline; router off, firefox not dialing up or whatever. Or is security software or a firewall blocking firefox, or a network connection, or firefox setting etc set wrongly.

You can search for recovery programs but most likely if it a temp file is not an image file. You could also try renaming the file to have an image file type and try to open with Photoshop. Again its most likely not an image file. Photoshop only supports some image files formats.

Multiple users working in one Photoshop file?

We have been doing a lot of photoshop work recently in the office and have quickly run into a problem. Due to some poor communication on my part, two of us ended up working within the same photoshop file at the same time on separate computers. Unaware of this, both of us kept saving our work, every time overwriting the other persons work. After we discovered this hours of work was lost. My question is this: is there a way where multiple people can work within a single photoshop file without saving copies for each person to work within or is there a way to prevent someone from overwriting a .PSD file while it is open by another user?

Does the iPad work well with Photoshop?

I'm an a student, and i really want to know if the iPad would be good with Photoshop or another digital art app. I'm using a mac with a computer tablet, but I was wondering if using a iPad would be better.
If the iPad is better, is there any way for me to get Photoshop on it without purchasing it from the app store? I have it in hard copy.

You have to get free or purchase all apps from the iTunes store.

Working offline with Designer

I have got a requirement that a Business Analyst want to carry his laptop for business requirements meetings and simultaneously work over there on his Designer repository. Is it possible that he can make some changes offline. Any alternative methods or suggestions are also welcomed.
I also forsee that if I grant this facility to one BA then the other three in the team may ask as well. Can I satisfy them all.

It is possible for your analyst to work on his own repository. He is not really working offline, as you will need to set up a repository for him on his laptop. You do need to plan this, because any changes or updates he makes in his own repostory need to be exported and then merged and checked back into the main repository.

Working with Photoshop files within FCP

Did anybody havinga problem with the psd file? I created some layers (20 to 40) in Photoshop, then import it in FCP. Find out some of the layer's position is shifted just a little bit. Any of you experts know why? Thanks.

Mmm... I really don't know about PC -MAC photoshop compatibility...
Whenever I use photoshop for FCP freeze frames, layers etc, I always crop my final photoshop image to the edge of canvas, even if everything i created is within the screen space... When you reposition a layer in photoshop, even if its just a tiny amount, to get your image looking the way you want it, the alpha channel still exists, which will now be outside of your 720x576 boundery. You could have a tiny image in the centre of the picture, and maybe move it a little bit to get its position just right, but the alpha channel is still part of that whole image... I don't know... i might be leading you down the wrong track here...especially if you have the same problem after rendering!!! that's just bizarre!!!

Firefox opens with "Unable to Connect. Uncheck 'Work Offline ' in the File Menu and click 'Try Again', but 'Work Offline' is not checked.

I have Firefox 3.6.13 on Mac OS 10.4.11 with MyEbay set as my Home page but FireFox always gives the above message and invites me to 'Try Again'. Yes, I am using Firefox 3.6.16--but I also occasionaly use Mail and have Microsoft Enterouge, loaded also.

few things about RoboHelp and RoboSource. I am relatively new to

(at home) and then log into the server where RoboSource is located
and sync up my files? I know that in the past I log into this
database and 'check out' the latest versions, then work on the
files... Can this process be done offline, then later log on and
check in the changes???
I will most likely be using VPN to connect to a SQL server
to access RoboSource, if that helps at all...
Any response would be appreciated!
