We will continue with the old orders untill such time they will finally be closed. No postings will be created against this old orders and if there's a need to do GR new orders will be created in new plants for the postings.

  • Assign Maintenance Planning Plant to Maintenance Plant

    Hi All,
What is the purpose of the configuration node "Assign Maintenance Planning Plant to Maintenance Plant"?
What happens if we don't maintain this configuration?
    Regards,
    Devasenapathy.K

    Hi ,
Maintenance Planning Plant and Planning Plant are different
In Logistics you define Plant which has to be distinguished as Maintenance Planning Plant . In these Plants you will plan for all your maintenance tasks
    You can plan and created
    1. Task list
    2. Planning and scheduling of Maintenance Plans
    3.creation of  Notifcations
    4. Execution of Maintenacne Orders
Maintenance Plants are also termed as Plants in which your technical objects are installed
For example, if an equipment X is installed in the Plant 0001 then Plant 0001 is called as Planning Plant and this plant on its own cannot plan for maintenance activities unless it is created as Maintenance Planning Plant
if this Plant 0001 is created as Maintenance Planning Plant, then this plant is responsible for Planning and execution of tasks for maintenance
this is where your assignment is needed, if not Maintenance and execution cannot happen
    hope it is clear
    thanks

    Hi
Please read SAP help you get complete deteails
in brief logistic plant created by MM thats fine. As the Plant maintenance you need to have the Maintenance plant and Maintenance planning plant.
If you consider logistic plant as Maintenance plant. for this maintenance plant you need to carryout the planning ie is thorugh maintenance plannig plant.
so you need to assing to each other in the enterprics structure.
bascially maint plant is plant where you perform the maint task and maint plan is the plan aganit the maint plant you plan the maintenance .

  • Maintenance plan package change resulting in incorrect call dates

When we change a maintenance package on an existing maintenance plan to a package whose frequency is not an exact multiple of the previous package (for example, changing from a 6M 180-day package to a 1Y 365-day package) and then restart the plan, the call horizon of the plan seems to be ignored and the new call dates are always a day or so before the plan date regardles
Why is the call horizon being ignored in this situation?

    Hello
Please check the Option Start in Cycle while scheduling the Plan.

  • How to regenerate COSS table for work order operation planning hours

    Hello,
I am looking for a SAP report or a custom solution to update the table COSS table from work order operation hours. Several work orders incorrectly updated in the table COSS with result the cost is incorrect.
For example: In the work order opertions, I have  planned 2.5 hrs and in the table COSS it is 1.5.
    Much appreciate for your help
    Bill

    It is quite simple actually.
As soon as your array exceeds SDU (defaults to 2048), sqlnet will fragment the packet. (see: sqlnet more data to client messages in your trace file)
As soon as the packet is bigger than your NICs MTU, the NIC will fragment the packet.
So, depending on the number of bytes for 1 record, high array size make sense or don't make sense.
And ideally SDU should be a multiple of MTU.
So do high arraysizes make sense? Usually not.

  • How to change planning plant in Maintenance order

    Hi experts ...
In maintenance order , depending on equipment , the planning plant gets defaulted . If Equipment is installed in another FL whose planning plant is different , the order's planning plant doesn't change (Greyed) . Is there anyway to change planning plant in orders
    NPB

We have maitenance and planning plant same .Equipment was in maintenance plant XYZ and planning plant XYZ earlier . Now the same equipment is in maintainance plant ABC and planning plant ABC . In order , I am able to change maintenance plant  to ABC , but unable to change the planning plant to ABC .
If I do not change planning plant and change only maintenence plant , what are the effects in cost reporting ? Since ultimately cost is settled to equipment cost center (which is now changed to ABC cost center) , I feel there will not be any effect . Old planning plant may only affect search right ? ....Please advise ...

  • Change Service Order Planning Plant

    Hello -
I have a business requirement for changing the Maintenance Planning Plant (CAUFVD-IWERK) on the service order mid stream during processing if a location can't handle the workload.  Rather than changing the work center and plant (CAUFVD-VAWRK), they want to flip the entire order to the central distribution center.  My issue is that the Planning Plant field is a protected field on the service order, and I can't find any configuration point to change this setting.  I can change this on the Notification, but then I have two service documents that are out sync with their org level assignments.  The business objective is to eliminate the step of creating a new order by flipping the planning plant assignment.  Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Nick Carmichael

We have situations where orders are created by local Planning Plants for national customers, if they determine they cannot meet the demand for the order, they have the right to change the assignment of the order to the national planning plant.  Currently, the only way to complete this process is to close the current order and create a new order for the national planning plant.  The business requirement I am trying to meet is to allow a 'flip' of the order from one planning plant to another without going through the process of closing the current order and creating a new one.

    Nick

  • Planning plant in order

    Hi experts,
Can you please advise on this..
    My client has centralized planning.
    Ex : 3 maint plant A,B, C.
           C is the planning plant for A & B.
Configured order types and assigned the planning plant C (IMG: Assign Order Types to Maintenance Plants).when I do like that Iu2019m not able to see the order types in  Define Change Docs, Collective Purc. Req. Indicator, Operation No. Interval .why is it so?
wheter we need to assign maint plants to ordertype and not planning plant?
    Regards,
    senthil

    Hi ,
Just a point to clear , MPP :- Maintenance Planning Plant is the plant where all the Maintenance activities are planned out
MP :- Maintenance Plant is where all maintenance activities are carried out.
So here order is created and planned in MPP and finally the work mentioned in Maintenance Order is executed  in MP , from above we need to have all the order type settings to MPP ..,even notification are created in MPP ..
In MP we can have Locations, Eqpts,F.loc ..
    hope this is clear ,

  • Planning plant & work center

    Hi All,
I have one scenario pls guide how we can do it in SAP PM.
I have three maintenance plants but none of them is having planning plat situated in their premises. Planning plant is totally different entity. It works for all three maintenance plants along with their own workcenters.
In above case, can we create only planning plant irrespective of maintenance plant/logistics plant??
Can we assign work centers to only planning plant??
    Sundar

    Hi
The details below is taken from the SAP IDES. These definition will be enough for you to get a conclusion...
The maintenance planning plants must first have been created as normal plants.
If all the plants in your organizational structure are also maintenance planning plants, then you must include each of these plants as a maintenance planning plant.
    Recommendation
You should then always use maintenance planning plants if the maintenance planning is carried out centrally for several plants in one plant. If, from a PM perspective, each plant stands alone, then each plant is also its own planning plant.
Assign the differing maintenance planning plants to the maintenance plants
In Plant Maintenance, a distinction is made between the organizational units "planning plant" and "maintenance plant".
    Maintenance plant
In a maintenance plant, you can manage technical objects and main work centers.
    Planning plant
In the planning plant, maintenance task lists are defined for the respective maintenance plants, material planning is carried out on the basis of bills of material in task lists and orders, maintenance plans are managed and scheduled, maintenance notifications are created and maintenance orders can be handled.
Technical objects and main work centers can be created in the planning plant just as in the maintenance plant.

  • Plant change in Sales Order not possible due to Sales Order BOM

    Hi all,
we are trying to change the Delivery Plant in a Sales Order after the creation of a Sales Order BOM, but it gives a V1773 message first, then a blocking error V1810. The same happens with a Production Order.
How can we change the Delivery Plant after the creation of one of these objects?
    Our scenario:
    - Make To Order
    - Sales Order BOM created with transaction CS61
    - Sales Order Routing created with transaction CA01
We need to create the Sales Order BOM on the Production Plant (which doesn't change), but we need to be able to change the Delivery Plant in any time.
Should you have further questions, feel free to ask.
    Thanks in advance,
    Giuseppe

    Hello Caselli,
For V1773, please check the solution provided by note 588884, which is a modification. With this note it turns possible to delete all multi-level sales order BOM using transaction CSKB, which may be useful.
The behavior mentioned by you is the standard behavior of the system. The scenario works as designed, a plant change is only possible as long as there is no other document assigned to the sales order.
    Longtext of V1 810 says:
The plant can no longer be changed in the following situations:
        2. There is a production order for the order item but it is not a static assembly order.
Your scenario seems to be point 2 as mentioned above. You can check the requirement type (VBAP-BEDAE) and requirement class in OVZH and assembly type (MNTGA) in OVZG.
If you change the plant for the items with existing production orders, it will cause the incorrect values in the COPA. An order item is assigned to plant A and the corresponding production order exits. This
means that the costs are assigned to plant A (this is the place where the costs accrue). Order and production order will be balanced at plant A.
If you now, after the process has already started, should allow to change the order to plant B the following examples of problems will come up:
    - The costs accrued in plant A (see production order)
    - The SD order is now assigned to plant B, this means billing will be with plant B
This leads to the fact the costs are on plant A, plant B has a benefit. Plant A cannot settle the costs and plant B has unexpected earnings. Inconsistencies in all involved process steps, SD, CO, COPA are the results.
If you want to change the plant in the sales order you'll have to perform these steps:
    = Delete the production order.
= Change the plant of the sales order item from A to C.
This should be possible unless there are other documents which are already assigned to this sales    order item. Save.
= Create a new production order and assign it to the sales order item again.
I hope I am able to help you with this information.

  • More than one Planning plant for a maintenance plant.?

hi Friends, can we have more than one Planning plant for a maintenance plant. Is there any advantage or disadvantage of this condition.?

    Hi,
You can have Maintenance Planning Plant & Maintenance Plant in any of the follwing ratios, i.e., 1:1 / 1:n / n:1. Actually in Maintenance, there can be electrical & mechanical maintenance.
In the case of 1:1 relation, all the maintenance activities (Electrical & Mechanical) will be planned by single Maintenance Planning Plant for single Maintenance Plant.
In case of 1:n, single maintenance planning plant will do the plaaning of maintenance activities for all the maintenance plants.
In case of n:1, electrical activity will be planned by one Maintenance planning plant & mechanical activities by another planning plant for a single Maintenance plant.
Defining Maintenance planning plant & maintenance plant in different relations will help us in generating different kind of reports.
I am looking forward your reply.
