Work order's material
What I want is :After the work order release, the User CANNOT add or remove the material in WO,
Is there any standard configuration for this ,or do any ABAP?
thanks
Hi,
Sorry I can not offer a solution but I would like to put forward my thoughts.
If you business process is robust that you can specify all materials (and services) required to do a job before a work order is released - then I would agree with your approach. The question that I have is - what if during the execution of the work it was I identified that additional material is required, how are your going to order the materials?

Work orders to material request....
hello gurus
how does MRP deal with Work Order and Material Request? wats the procedure?
thanksAndy,
Thank you very much for your responses here. They are very educational.
I have following questions,
The Production Org is Standard Costed. What is the recommended costing method for eAM. If I use Average costing for EAM then do I have to create another org?
If create another org then how ASCP will take into account projected shutdowns because of future PMs?
If the Production Org is also WMS enabled then the Expense Account is greyed out in the costing tab of org parameters. If expense account is not created then Asset Groups can not be created from EAM. They however can be created from Item Master window?
If Prod Org and EAM org are same then how we will capturs the material cost separately for both org?
Thanks & Regards,

Material Reservation Process for Work Order
I am new to the Plant Maintenance work order and material reservation process.
Here is my scenario:
I create a work order with a material that is maintained in WM and IM.
Reservation is created.
I got to MB26 to post goods issue
Once I do this I see the qty of material moved as a negative amount to storage type 914 in IM (LS26) and stock removed out of WM (MMBE).
Is this where the business process stops?
Do I ever remove the stock out of 914?
Does the material go from 914 to 916 and then get cleared out of inventory?

Work Order Material Availability Check Customizing
Hi,
I am currently trying to set up material availability check in the work order before saving. I am testing it by entering a material in the work order for which there is zero stock. Then clicking on ORDER > FUNCTIONS > AVAILABILITY > CHECK STOCK MATERIAL. However SAP would return 'All checked materials in order 100000317 are available' in status bar.
My customizing is as follows:
Define Checking Rules (SPRO):
PM Checking rule for plant maintenance
Define Scope of Check (OPJJ):
Availability Check: 01 (Daily Requirements)
Checking Rule: PM (Checking rule for plant maintenance)
Availability check: 2 (Check availability during order release)
Stocks
Include safety stock: X
StockIn Transfer: X
Incl. quality insp. stock: X
Replenishment lead time
Check without RLT: X
In/outward movement
Incl. purchase orders: X
Incl. purchase requisitions: X
Incl. dependant reqs: X
Include reservations: X
Include sales reqmts: X
Include deliveries: X
Incl. planned orders: X (check all planned o)
Incl. production orders: X (take all production)
Define Scope of Check (OIOI):
Plant: (Corresponds to Work Order)
Order Type: (Corresponds to Work Order)
Check material availability when saving order: X
Check rule: 02 (Corresponds to material being used)
Release Material: 3 (No release if parts are missing)
PRT Availability: No check
Capacity Availability: No check
I would appreciate if you could indicate if I am missing something in the customizing or if there is some sort of error. I would like SAP to display a system message on the status bar stating that this material is not available once the user enters this material.
Regards,
NikolaiI'am facing the almost the same problem. Could anyone tell me:
1. How to make material availability check work during Work Order creation?
My requirement is Work Order can not be created when it has missing parts. I have set the config to '3' can not created when is has missing parts, but it still does not work.
I have implemented SAP Notes 1148139 on my system (SAP ECC 6 Ehp 5) also, but still does not have any effect.
I must not set the config Res./Purch Doc creation to 'immediately', because it does not fit to my user requirement. Is there anyone knows how to solve this requirement?
2. How to make information message/ Availability check screen appear when sparepart is missing, without clicking Availability Check button? for example: appear when clicking Save button.
Thank you

How to stop G/L from defaulting material group in work orders
Whenever we create a work order, the material group is pulled from the material master. But, if we have a component on a work order and don't enter in a material number, the material group defaults to electric supplies. From my research, it looks like it is doing this defaulting based upon the default G/L account assigned to components of work orders. Does anyone know how to stop this defaulting?
I might be completely off and it's not related to G/L which in that case this is not the correct forum, so if someone is knowledgeable about this let me know and I can switch the forum areas.
Thanks,hi ,
Please check the Account Assignment In Po you have created .
for expamole if Po is created with account assignment ctegourt K than account modification is VBR
as in below Path and screen shot
Now check Material group valuation class if you are short text in PO or material master valuatiobn class if you are material Number . For expamaple its is 0001 liek ypur case . Now
Check combination in OBYC in GBB transction for VBR( Assignment category is K in PO ) and valaution class ( of Material master or material group )

Material Availability check during work order creation and Release
Hello All,
We are checking material availability at creation as well as release
Say we have Material XYZ=100 in stock MMBE
Now XYZ =100 is say at normal storage location =75
and scrap storage location=05 and serviceable =20
Currently when availability check is performed it checks for 95 (It excludes scrap storage location 05 )
but we want Availability check to be only for normal stock =75 and not for Serviceable and Scrap location
how to do this in configuration or via exits
Since if the material is under Scrap location it is not counting in Availability check at work order creation this logic is working fine but I do know from where this control is put that when the material is in the stock of scrap it is not counting in Availability check for work orders.Same thing I want to extend it to Serviceable stock .
Why not it is consider it for Scrap storage location , what is config or any MM enhancement
So that when Availability check run it will not consider Materials at SCRAP as well as SERVISABLE storage location also.
Please have your views on this
Regards
pratapHello
There are two option for your requiement
1. Changing the status of the servisable storage location stock to restricted use stock . You can include or exclude this stock status material in OPJJ. This solution is not storage location dependent. It is stock status dependent.
2. Please refer the enhancement for the storage location determination. I am not sure about this funtionality:
For production orders the following enhancement is available:
PPCO0005 enhancement for storage loc. determination/backflushing
You can use this enhancement to change the storage location and the indicator 'backflushing' in the reservation.
The enhancement PPCO0005 contains the following enhancement components:
Function exit
EXIT_SAPLCOSD_001 storage location determination/backflushing
You can find the description in modification text of the function exit.
You can find an example of the user exit in the function group XC01 in the include LXCO1F05.

Edited by: Pratap bhikai Ingole on Jun 5, 2010 9:20 AMHi ,
With reference to your second point , if your looking for some alret then whenever you have goods receipt or goods issue of stock material you can have a mail triggerred through workflow .. in our project what we did was , we had a user status ALMR - All Material received and this is SET by a Z programme which checks whether all stock materials or non stock materials against the order have been received and sets the user status and this programme is run as a batch job with 30min frequency ....

Payment Card Information with Material Groups and Work Orders
When processing purchase transactions that were purchased using a payment card, standard functionality in SAP says the system automatically generates a parked document with authorized users allowed to post these documents. When these documents are being posted, does anyone know if the user can enter a material group and/or a work order number for reporting purposes?

If your business is privately held then SOX does not apply to you. If your business has stock w/shareholders then it does.
Correcting or making the material group more accurite is something that would be MORE SOX complient and not a violation. -
Supressing non work day messages for material requirments on Work orders
Message CN687, pretaining to delivery date of materials takes into account the factory calender/nonwork days of the calender associated to the plant. This message pops up for every material line item on a work order, One could understand how involved it can be if ther are a number of materials on a work order, as you would have to enter passed each warning before continuing.
Is there a way without preforming a mod that will allow us to supress this message on the work order side. Supply chain still wants to see it, however maintenance does not?Hi,
As per my understanding your planned order is scheuling for 2 days.Check teh capacity view in the std plang book and check the date on which the capacity is being shown.IF the same is not showing on 15th then the problem is with scheduling not with capacity load.
Also check the factory calendar assigned to resource master data.Check the date 15th on the bucket capacity on resource master SNP bucket capacity view.If the same is showing as working day then the master data needs to be changes.
Hope this can help.

View labor and material costs in plant maintenance work order
Hi
I am aware we can bring in the costs in the work order through Activity types and assigning the costs to the acitvity type.
Is there anyway we can bring in the actual cost for the work performed by the associate? should we link the work center to HRMS?
Please advise. I need your valuable input for all the points below.
Main points that need to be addressed:
1. Each associate that is capable of confirming hours to a work order needs to be assigned an hourly rate that is reflective of the actual cost for the work performed by this associate. These hours are then tracked through the work order to give a cost for labor assigned to that particular job.
2.Any materials used in the performance of the required task(s) dictated by the work order will be assigned to that order. These materials can be assigned through SAP purchase requisitions, tool crib spot buys, or procurement with a purchase card.
3.Standard reports need to be created so we can track the total maintenance costs for any level of the equipment hierarchy as currently set up in SAP. When this report is created it should show the total maintenace costs for all the levels of the equipment hierarchy broken down into labor cost and material cost. I am using Tcode IW37N and IW40 . Is there any suggestion?Greetings Chandra,
1) You will need to create Work Centres for your associates and create the Activity Types. You can default the Activity Type for each Work Centre and maintain the rate for the activity via t-code KP26 planning.
2) Planned and unplanned Purchase Requisitions for Components with category N will debit the order with material costs. But what do you mean by "tool crib spot buys" and "procurement with a purchase card"? You may need to develop a solution to do such postings to the Order (or for purposes of Cost controlling, manual activity allocation similar to confirming work may be desired such as Manual Activity Allocations via CO transactions (KB21N), unless you can cover that with Purchase Requisitions and POs with "F Order" account assignment.
3) MCI8 Cost Report should be suitable for you, once you set up the Value Categories & Cost Key Figures.
See
PMIS Cost Analysis Reporting Overview

Blocking Specific Material Type in Work Order
Dear Gurus,
Is there any way to block specific material type in work order. Could not find any suitable link in SPRO.
Advance thanks for the update / response.
Sahu.Hello Ajaya,
Though I have never realized such requirement in SAP but I think user-exit "CNEX0026 : Customer enhancement for general inspection of material" can be useful. You can make use of structure RESBD or CAUFVD and fetch the material number which is being reserved in the maintenance order. Also, you will have to define the Z-Table for maintaining the material numbers which needs to be blocked. Configure the error message at the SAVE event.
I have used this user-exit to make the entry of storage location mandatory whenever the material is reserved.
I hope this helps. Please update the thread if you have managed to realize the requirement.
Cheers!!!

No creation if material is missing, Still IW31 ( Work order ) is getting created
Hi Experts,
I reviewed few discussions and unable to get the correct answer.
I did the configuration for Material availability check on Order Creation with Path ..
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service - Maintenance and Service Processing - Functions and Settings for Order Types - Availability Check for Material, PRTs, and Capacities - Define Inspection Control
In this I assigned my order type with Business Function 1.
Material Availability :
Plant XX01
Order Type XX09
Availability Check 1 Check availability during order creation
Checking Rule 01 No Blocked Stocked - All rec/issue elmts
Component Check Type Blank
Collect. conversion 3 No creation if material is missing
PRT Availability :
No Check ( Not checked )
Checking Rule 01 Status check
Collect. conversion Blank
Capacity check
No Check ( Not checked )
Overall profile Blank
Collect. conversion Blank
My question is:
MMBE for that Material ZERO.
Before Config,
when I create Order manually IW31 with a components , Status is showing Mat.availability not checked ( MANC ).
After Config.
when I create Order manually IW31 with a components , Status is showing Material committed MACM.
When Configured for [Collect. conversion 3 No creation if material is missing], still order is getting created.
I changed to 2 or 1 , still order is getting created with no difference
But its going to a confirmation proposals asking me to do
either continue / ATP quantity / Scope of check.
If I select 1 or 2, it should show Missing Parts status or if select 3, it should stop creation of Order. But its not happening as expected.
Please let me know where I am missing Config.Hello
Q1 )
If I change option 1 or 2 :
1 User decides on creation if material is missing
Answer:If Material is not Created the system wont allow to add you that material until unless you create the material master created.I am considering here that you don't have material master
2 Creation even though no material is available
Answer:It will allow you to create the work order.i am considering here that you don't have sufficient stock.
Q2) what should be the expected Status for Option 1 or 2.
Before Config it was showing
Status is showing Mat.availability not checked ( MANC ).
After Option 1 or 2, Expected Status ?
Answer: You need to enter value 02 on the Availability Check field on the MRP3 tab of Material Master via TC MM02.
you will be get Material committed MACM after Saving the Order.

any can help my problem?
thankyu..
The poohHi PS
Sorry if my question make you confused. but actually im need to have a system that we can restricted issue material.
In our company have the rule that we can only take some part consumable.
for example :
in one month, we can only take the part just 100 pc. we not allowed to take the part more than 100 pc.
so we must restrict that.
