9/80 Work Schedule Configuration

We have 9/80 schedules in our organization and they were originally configured in such a way that for the 9/80 day schedules with every other Friday off, the workweeks split at Friday Noon. Even though we do not have clock time, but on Fridays of these schedules the time is actually recorded in clock times 8:00-12:00 and 12:00-16:00 in CATS. This makes time recording, absences etc. very complicated. Is there a better way of configuring the 9/80 schedules?

Assumption based on what I understood from your problem statement: Your work schedule has:
1. Normal working hours from Mon-Thu
2. Fri working hours (if first Friday): normal
3. Fri working hours option 2: first half working only
4. Fri working hours option 3: second half working only
5. Sat and Sun are off.
If my understanding is correct, you can carry out the following steps:
1. Set floating public holidays for all Fridays in your holiday calendar, with Holiday Class (HC) 9 for first-half working days and HC 8 for second half working days.
2. Set 2 variants for your Friday DWS - one with first half working hours and one with second half working hours
3. Set a DWS rule to query the HC and assign the appropriate variant to the appropriate Friday (e.g.: If HC (today)=9 and HC (tomorrow)=0-9 and today = friday, then assign variant A).
4. Regenerate all your work schedules.
This way, your planned working time is set for what you need. Wherever you record actual working times (CATS, Absence recording, etc.), they would be based on this plan.

Dy Work schedule

Hi Experts,
I am facing one problem in dynamic work schedule configuration.
There are 3 types of shifts availble in company and night shift is from 22:00 to 6:00 next day morning.
In cofig table V_T552V i assigned one PWS with 3 shifts and assigned.
When I am testing, i have given one employee time in and time out as 5.30 to 14:00 hts belongs to 1st shift.
Planned working shift is 3rd shift and actual working is 1st shift.
But system is automatically assigning employee to previous days working in 3rd shift
eg :
Planned shift for 1st and 2nd is 3rd shift (22:00 to 06:00)
Acual working on 2nd is first shift 05:30 to 13:40
System is considering this 2nd time data as 1st night shift and assigning night shift code.
Can any one pls help where I am doing mistake in config.

Hi,
Can you please tell me what is your exact requirement?....
I think in the standard MSS package there is an iview for viewing the workschedule related information like Hours/day, Hrs/week, hrs/month and hrs/year for a position.
However, if you want to view the workschedule for employee, it can easily be configured through the OADP.
You can create a custom Function module for fetching the workschedule for each employee and after creating a custom column, add it to any data view.

When I created a new personnel area, I had to maintain all of the following nodes under Personnel Time Management:
- Group Personnel Subareas for the Work Schedule
- Define Groupings for the Public Holiday Calendar
- Group Personnel Subareas for Attendance and Absences
- Group Personnel Subareas for Availability Types
- Group Personnel Subareas for Time Quotas
- Set Personnel Subarea Groupings for Time Recording
Double-Check each of these and make sure you got everything.

Work schedule - user exit or configuration?????

Hi all,
We want that in our work schedule, second and fourth saturdays of a month should be offs and first and third would be working .If a month has 5 saturdays, then first, third and fourth saturday would be working and second and fifth should be off.
What configuratino we can do about it? Is there any user exit for it? Please let know how to proceed for this in SAP?

Hi Ribhu,
Here is the steps to define the WS rule:
Img -> TM - > WS
1. Define your required Break Schedule
2. Rule for your Variants
3. Create the required various Daily WS like Mng, Gen, Off. ( DWS consist of Planned hrs, Timings, Rule for Variant, Break Schedule, DWS class to differentiate from other, usually will assign 0 for Off and 1 - 9 for working day)
4. Period Work Schedule -> Assign Mng or Gen from mon to Saturday for First week and Mon to Fri for second week and off for Saturday also... like that assign as per your need for One month.
5. Create the Day type rule.
6. Create the WSR for your Period WS. It is nothing but the assigning the Reference date and day for your WS Rule.
7. Generate your WSR for your EE subgroup, Calendar and WSR for particular period. (Tcode: PT01)

After the path suggested above, the last but one step will be
--- Set work schedule rules and work schedules
Last step will be
--->generate work schedules manually ---> Create work schedule -->click create all --->you will start seeing a calender for every month you specified.
Eg: you specify that you need work schedule from march 2008 to Dec 2008, first march work schedule is generated.
Save it. Hit enter to generate April calender and so on. Keep saving till the end.

Error "No entry in table T551A" while creating set work schedule rule.

Dear Team,
I am getting following error while creating set work schedule rule.
Error "No entry in table T551A" for key 22 BBB [ here BBBB is my period work schedule]
The actual prob is i configured all the necessary steps but when i tried to create work schedule rule im getting this error. Also, in the same screen there is one field DWS grouping initially value in this is 00 and gread mode. But after giving ES grp, holiday calander ID etc etc when i try to save that screen that value is chainging to 22 from 00.
My ES grop=2 and PS grop=2 . Is that value is my ES and PS grouping..?? or some other thing.
Request you to please help me out.

1. Group Personnel Subareas for the Daily Work Schedule
2. Group Personnel Subareas for the Work Schedule
3. Define Break Schedules
4. Define Daily Work Schedules
5. Define Period Work Schedules
6. Define Employee Subgroup Groupings
7. Define Groupings for the Public Holiday Calendar
8. Set Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
All of them belong to TIME MANAGEMENT. I think you miss some steps above.
Please check it again.

Follow the below steps to create Work Schedule:
Holiday Calendar
Transaction Code: SCAL
Holiday calendar comprises of list of paid holidays to be given to employees on festivals by the company.
Personnel Area/SubArea Groupings
Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules --> Personnel SubArea Groupings
Maintain perosnnel area/Subarea groupings for work schedule.
i.e. Suppose in Mumbai you have WS = GEN ( 10 to 6) and in Chennai you have WS = NORM ( 8 to 4 )
Work Schedule
Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Daily Work Schedules
Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Period Work Schedules
Daily Work Schedule is actually your office timings with breaks (paid /unpaid) i.e. Planned Working Time which is then included
in Period Work Schedule to make a week ( M T W T F S S )
Daily Work Schedule (i.e. Day) -
> Period Work Schedule (i.e. Week)
Work Schedule Rules
Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
After doing above mentioned configurations,maintain employee group/subgroup groupings in which you have to define which calendar is applicable for which type of employees for which work schedule.
You will maintain this work schedule in infotype 0007 - Planned Working Time of employee via transaction code - PA30

The Question about mess "Customizing Error in Work Schedule Rule ..."

Dear all,
I run the Start-Payroll and I getting an error " Customizing Error In WSR for that Personal Number"
I configuration all of Time Management with start date is 01.01.2000 and when I run Payroll on Payroll period is 01/2000 with start date is 01.01.2000 to 31.01.2000 for Employees hiring on 01.01.2000 then I have an error " Customizing error in work schedule rule .. .. ... ..".
But I can run the payroll period on 02/2000 with start date is 01.02.2000 to 29.02.2000 for Employees hiring on 01.02.2000. form 02/2000 it is okies.
Please help me solve about my problem

it is the combination of
ur Holiday calendar
Employee Sub Group
Personal Sub area Grouping
and ur Daily work Schedule Rule
Check the Start dats an end dates fo all the above Settings along with their Groupings in table V_T508A

Display Work Schedule in ESS

Hello,
I am trying to provide the same functionality that PZ17 transaction (Display Work Schedule) provides in the backend, to the portal. The transaction PZ17 does what I want essentially. Now the problem I have is how do I make it come up in the portal as a service within Portal -> ESS, like leave request. I did not see any configuration in the IMG that would enable this service.
I am new to this, so am not aware if SAP provides this functionality in ESS or not. Any help will be appreciated.

Please note some of the services based on ITS which are using cannot be lauched using Webdypro, So you need to make a new service as described using SICF, ALso read the note 870126.

This is an SICF service which invokes
transaction (which you are using )using the SICF parameter of ~transaction. try creating it
Or note for displaying Work schedule use pt63, you can add this transaction code as well.

We want to create a work schedule for every employee as they may come in any shift.we are implimenting negative time mgt.
As in sap we have to group our employees for work schedule,can anybody guide on this.

Y u Want to go with Individual WSR its impossible to configure.
Do one thing Create all types of shifts and in Period Work Schedule normally u assign it in normal rotation.
Now In your scenario maintain for each employees IT2051 in which his WSR from IT0007 will be maintained directly. Now when an employee changes from the proposed shift then you can directly maintain in IT2051 his actual shift.
Now daily Time administrator should run a report where in he must have all employees actual shift and tell him to directly upload each employee's IT2051.

Customising error in work schedule rule

Hi All,
While running the TM schema TM04, i am getting "customising error in work schedule rule".
I could successfully generate work schedule with the same work schedule rule for the period 01-2006 to 01-2008.
I have configured all the nodes under work schedule. I have maintained payroll control record with retro accounting date as 01-2006 and the payroll date as 02-2006(i.e i released the payroll for run, so period got incremented).
In 0003, i have given TM status as 9.
I want to know if i missed anything in configuration. Can you please help me in this regard.

You can also maintain the feature TIMMO.. the return value of this feature is Country Grouping..
You need to select the relevant country grouping and give the same as return value and activate the feature.

Work Schedule vs BG_ABSENCE_DURATION

Hi,
If I have Work Schedule functionality working, do I need to configure BG_ABSENCE_DURATION Fast Formula as well ?
I know I can calculate the duration based on the logic in BG_ABSENCE_DURATION fast formula. But If I have the work schedule functionality in place and have done the necessary configuration, do I still need the fast formula ?
Also, If I have both the Work Schedule in place and BG_ABSENCE_DURATION, which one takes precedence ?

Note 413541.1 says there are two options

A)
1 - Open and understand the structure of the seeded fast formula
TEMPLATE_ABSENCE_DURATION
2 - Create a new fast formula with name BG_ABSENCE_DURATION of same type as
TEMPLATE_ABSENCE_DURATION for custom absence calculations considering the work
schedules. Use the function GET_WORKING_DAYS instead of DAYS_BETWEEN.
That should exclude the week-ends from the absence duration calculation.
B)
HR Dev has provided a Work Scheduling Component, which is available starting HR.PF.K, please review note

The functionality is delivered in patch that you need to apply on top of HR.PF.K, or it is already included in HR.PF.K.1
Users will need to setup in HRMS Manager > Work Structures > Work Schedules
Users must ensure ensure the profile option HR: Schedule Based Absence Calculation is set to

Now my question is if I go for option B, and also have BG_ABSENCE_DURATION setup in my system, how will my system behave ? Will it as per the fast formula
or will it be as per Work Schedule ?
Currently I have both in my system and I am not able to delete the BG_ABSENCE_DURATION fast formula. It is giving some error.
I only want option B.

Group Personnel Subarea for Work Schedule

Hi All,
I am learning SAP HCM ECC 6.0 at the moment, I have created Personnel Area, Personnel Subarea however when I am trying to u201CGroup Personnel Subarea for Work Scheduleu201D the newly created Personnel Areas and Personnel Subarea are not appearing the list to group them for work schedule.
No such problem persist while Defining employee subgroup under work schedule rules and work schedule in IMG.
Experts could you please suggest me the solution to this problem? Is there any integration missing?

The problem is been resolved by editing in Table "V_T500P" (Country grouping), now newly created PAs and PSAs are appearing in the list and I can "Group personnel subarea for work schedule"
I did the the basic configuration of PAs, PSAs, EG, ESG and I assigned them to company code however PAs and PSAs were not appearing in the list to group them for Work Schedule. The problem is been resolved now by editing in Table.
I really appreciate your help here.
