Work Status Issues - BPC 10.0 NW

Hello,
I am having trouble changing a work status setting that is approved to open.
We have three settings, default, open, and approved. Approved has data loads locked to everyone. The other two are open to everyone.
Only a manager can modify the statuses. I am a technical support analyst so I have full access and can change any work status. However, when I look at the selection for the new status, all I see is approved. It will not let me choose another option. And this is for a specific company and month (June 2013). If I take that same company I can modify the closed status to open for other months and for the same company.
Status is set on company code and time.
Does closing at different hierarchies cause issues like this? Just not sure why I am unable to change it. Any thoughts?

Hi
When you need open a company code, make sure you open the parent node first and try to open individual company code.
You also need to populate the OWNER property for company code dimension.
thanks

  • Manage work status in BPC 7

    Hi experts,
I would like to know if we can  manage work status in bpc excel. I have see that we can use evlck to get the status of the work status and we can use MNU_esubmit_modify to open the bpcweb page to modify work status.
But I want to modify the workstatus in bpc excel.
Do you have any solution ? with macro or other ?
    Thanks in advance

    Dear Janeth Sarai Ripert,
I suggest you to update the work status using BPC Web. If you want to force it using macro, I will give you information likes as:
    1. SAP BPC will write the work status data into the table "dbo.tblfinancelock". It's for Finance Application
    2. If you want to directly write data into that table, please you use the uppercase format.
    3. SAP BPC never update data when the user updated that work status. SAP BPC will create one record.
    4. You only can update work status data directly but not for update sub menu at BPF

  • Work Status error BPC NW 7.5

    Hi,
I am having some trouble with Work Status for BPC NW 7.5.
When trying to change status I always get same message: "Controlled by rule has been violated". I've tried with differente ussers and I am suer they have all rights necessary to change status but, there is no way.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Raul

We have already made all tasks related to Work Status:
    1. Configuring Work Status u2013 Like Unlocked, Submitted and Approved
    2. Enter the Owner property in dim Entity
    3. Configure the work status setting at the application level: Entity as owner, Time and Category "YES"
    4. Aplication Administration --> Define the hierarchy as H1. We have defined the hierarchy in Entity PANETH1 also
But still didn't work... as we though it should. We have gone through the Admisnitration manual for BPC NW75 and check everything again. Everythign was correct. But, we checked all appendix also. There is where SAP explains how is all working. In some stage, BPC thogh we were the manager (because of the Entity hierarchy structure) but our Work status was not define for a Manager (because we don't need it). We made a try with everything in BOTH and is Working!!! Cool.
We are going to adjust everythign to our requirements now. But, we now itiis working correctly.
Thank you very much for you help.

  • How to configure Work Status in BPC?

    Hello everybody,
I have some problems with the hierarchy of work status control. I will explain it with a simple example.
    I have 3 entities: A, B and C. A is B's parent, and B i C's parent.I have the status: Opened, submitted company, submitted subgroup, approved.
C is entering data with the status opened. When C finish, C change the status to submitted company. In that moment, C can´t enter more data because BPC desn´t let it. B's owner can enter data in C, but not C's owner.Ok, perfect.
Then B enter some data in C and change the status to submitted subgroup. In that moment, A can enter data in C but B continue being able to enter data too, and I would like that B couldn't enter data in C although A could. How can I configure this? Is it possible?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Fernando,
The issue that you have is really familiar for me. We have exactly the same problem in a client a had.
As you explain, SAP BPC approval process have this problem. The conclusion is BPC approval process (Workstatus) only have 2 approval level, Owner and Manager.
Sorry but in your case when C have the power of introduce data, B could introduce data as well.
You should use reviewer option. Maybe with this functionality you can increment an approval level. For example C could be reviewer of each entity B is owner.
I expect my explanation solve your doubts

  • Displaying current work status in BPC Excel report

    Hi All,
Could any of you tell me how do we retrive the current work status that has been set for a particular application on to a Excel?
We would get this in BPC WEB reports, but we are lookin gto display it in excel itself.
Does EVLCk function have any link with this?
can any one share the details of list of EV functions that can be used in BPC 7.0.
    Regards,
    Swetha

    Hi Swetha-
SAP Note 1348997 "BPC NW 7.0 SP03 Work Status Explanation" provides a detailed PowerPoint deck that explains the specifics around Work Status.  Please note slide #39 and the mention of EVLCK.
A few additional notes that may be of interest:
EVLCK became available to SAP BPC 70 NetWeaver with SP02 (pls review SAP note 1310443, as well as the "BPC 7.0 SP03 NW Documentation Updates" in Note 1349538).

  • BPF an Work Status in BPC v10

    Hi averybody,
I am working in a project of BPC v10 and i have a question i would like to solve. Specifically i want to know if the new version of SAP BPC allow you to associate a step of the BPF with a change of the work status strictly.
Does anybody know something concerning this item? Any additional information about new functionalities of BPF and work status?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi
You can certainly do that. When you've created a set of work statuses and want to associate the work states to a BPF, you can associate with a setting for Related Action along with the Input you are providing to the suers (scrnsht below). I am not sure you can make it mandatory for the user to change work status setting, but you can allow a change in the work status.

  • Work status from the BPC for Excel interface

    Hello everyone !
I got an issue on version 7.0M of BPC with WorkStatus. When i try to access to the work status from BPC the page won't load but i can access to it by the Web. Do you have any clue about that ?
It it the BPC server configuration ? The web site is with ASP2.0 is it an issue ?
    Best regards,
    Damien

The problem seems to be related to how you configured the BPC application and web server.
Just check table tblapsetinfo and tblserverinfo from database appserver to see if you have right configuration.
I mean if you have the same name (FQDN or IP) for both application server and web server.
Osoft virtual directory must work using .Net 1.1 no t2.0.

  • Unlocking work status

    Hi,
We are implementing BPC 7.5 NW version and having SP04.
we have an Entity A (parent entity) and unerneath that we have two entities B and C.
In the Entity Dimension we have an owner peroperty in which for Entity A we gave a user (say Administrator as the owner) and for both Entity B and C we gave another user (say-BPcuser as the owner)
So the user Administrator of Enitity A is the owner of Entity A and he is also now the Manager for Enitity B and C.
After making these settings, when we try to modify work status through BPC for Excel it takes to BPC for WEB and in BPC for WEB we make the following selection.
    Category-Actual
    Entity- A
    Time -2010.April
And in the next screen we are changing the satus from sUBMITTED to APPROVED ( TO lock the Data region) and save it.
Now when we input any data for this data we are getting Check work status settings.( which is our desired output)
However when we try to change the work status setting From Approved to Submitted (to unlock the data region) with the ID Administrator (i.e Owner of Parent Entity A) it is getting saved. However when we try to input the data it is still showing check the Work status settings.
So can you please suggest me how to unlock the work status settings now so that we can post the data for that data region.
    Thanks,
    Shankar.v

    Hi,
If you are in a development system and if you want to delete all the locks on the data at one go......you could try reordering your work states (rearrange your last work state for example by moving it one step further up). You get a message on the screen that this will delete all the locks on the data....just confirm the message. You could change the order again back to the original order.
Above is only if you are working on a development system and for test if you want to delete all the existing locks at one go.
If your system wants only to unlock a specifc dataset, select the required members of the work state dimensions (refer to your appliation and work staus to know what the work status dimensions are for your application). Note, if your selection includes any parent member for a dimension current work status is not displayed.(This is again as per the work status set up in BPC that work status is stored at non-parent members).
Please let me know if you still have any issues in deleting the locks

  • Work status SPRUNCONVERSION

    Hi,
We are using script logic in the package.
We would like to prevent the packed from running on u201Clockedu201D data.
Below is the code of the script. The statuscode of locked data is 3. The maxstatus parameter in stored procedure is set to 1 (unlocked).
    *SysLib Stored_Procedure_Wrapper.lgl
    //=============================================
    // Currency translation logic
    //=============================================
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCONVERSION('%APP%','%CATEGORY_SET%','','GLOBAL','%SCOPETABLE%','%LOGTABLE%','' ,'' ,'', 1)
Unfortunately we still can write to the locked intersection.
We are using BPC MS 5.1.
Could you give us some advise how to solve this problem?

    Mariusz,
If you define a business rule in a script logic file and call the script
logic file from data manager, the data generated by the business rule
will be posted to a locked data region since the business rule engine
cannot check Work Status. BPC has the limitation of the business rule. It has been earlier requested as an enhancement.

  • Issue with Work status in SAP BPC 10.1 Unified Model

    Hi Everyone,
I am are tying to setup work status functionality in SAP BPC 10.1 Unifed Model. But I am not getting any dimesions to select in the Owner dimension dropdown in the BPC Web Admin.
Is there any pre-requiste for setting up work status in Unified Model. Is there any document related to it? Any help would be greatly appriciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Ramanathan

    Hi Ramanathan,
Had the same problem when I began using 10.1 Embedded.
In BW you need to identify which infobject will be used as the "Owner Dimension"  to control work status, access, etc.
To this infobject you must add an attribute to contain the string (userid in BPC) of the owner.  The name of the infobject can be anything.
I used 0ORGUNIT as the "Owner Dimension" control infobject and added attribue ZBPCOWNR.  I maintained ZBPCOWNR with the userid's.
This is the value to be entered into Owner Property:
HOWEVER, this will not be presented until the Owner Dimension contorlling infobject has a HIERARCHY!  The hierarchy must have at lease one leaf node.
Once I added the attribute, maintained the attribute, and added the hierarchy I was presented with my choices in the dropdown boxes.
    Regards,
    Andy

  • Issue with setting work status

    Hi Gurus,
I am using the standard work status (copied from Appset), in the applications work status setting I have set entity as owner and time and category as yes for work status. In the entity dimension under owner and reviewer property I have keyed in the correct user ids. I am using one of the owner user id to perform the activity mentioned below
The issue I am facing is when I select modify work status from Esubmit menu it takes me to the web interface for setting the Work status after selecting the value for the 3 dimensions mentioned above when I click on OK it pops up a message that you are not authorized to change the work status setting please contact system administrator. The owners have admin profiles for auth so they should be able to do pretty much everything.
    would appreciate help on this
    BPC 5.1 Support Pack 2
    Thanks

Make sure all the members within the parent hierarchy you are using have owners assigned.
In BPC terms; Managers are the owners of parents, owners are the owners of members.
For example the owner might be a clerk entering forecast data for a single/set of entities, (base level members). The manager owns the parent.
Also, when testing, make sure you login to the system/server/domain/network, (whatever) with the userid you will be testing with and then login to BPC. (Just to be sure.)
This should do it if you have everything else laid out!
    Good Luck!

  • BPC 7.5 - Multiple Usernames in the owner property for Work Status Update

    Good Day,
We have an issue in our BPC system, where our organisation dimension(entity) has an owner property which is maintained with multiple usernames. The issues comes in when we have to update the Work status for locking. The system recognises the first username as the owner property and only that first username can change or update the workstatus in BPC. We have a problem with that because we have a team of people that manages process.
The error that we get when one of the usernames other than the first one tries to update the work status is - "User not a Manager/Owner, Work status cannot be updated".
Please advise of the solution we are BPC 7.5 SP17
    Thanks,

  • BPC Work Status

Hi guys out there, where the truth is...
got a problem with the SAP BPC 70 netweaver work status and I don't know whether that is a bug, something I am overlooking or simply a non supported feature:
When launching the Work Status (MNU_SUBMIT_MODIFY) from an active input schedule with an active Current View I will end up in the WEB where the work status settings can be done. So far so good.
    Then, two options are available:
Either set the Work Status for the active Current View or for a different Current View, which would then have to be specified.
    And here is the issue:
What's beeing considered (and displayed) in the WEB as active current view, is completely different to the active current view in BPC Excel. In fact, it consists of the members that show up as first in the selection list of a dimension.
Question: is that the way it is supposed to be? Or is that behaviour subject to some settings in limbo or is that a bug?
Thanks for your thoughts and ideas guys!
    Claus

    Hi,
We had encountered this issue earlier. There is a fix for this in SP05 release. Please upgrade to BPC 7.5 NW SP05 for this. It is how it works in BPC 7.5 NW SP05.
When you move from BPC Excel to BPC Web interface - The CV in Web interface is updated with the CV inherited from BPC Excel.
The active CV option of the work status dimensions is also updated dynamically. It shows the values of the 'Active CV.
If you want to set the work staus for a different or another CV, choose the option 'Another CV' then change the values for the work status dimension accordingly.
    Hope it is clear.
    Thanks
