[WORKAROUND] flashplugin 10 and newest intel drivers.

Hi, i own a netbook with a gma945 chipset.
I updated my system after some months and installed new intel driver, xf86-video-intel-2.20 and linux 3.6.9.
I'm still using flashplayer 10 because flash 11 doesn't support overridegpuvalidation anymore, and in the past i was able to watch youtube in fullscreen with hardware scaling enabled, but after the update all i get in fullscreen is a black video.
disabling hw acceleration by removing the override line in mms.cfg or by using the flash window by right clicking on the video works, but the gpu is not used at all, and the playback is choppy.
Did anyone noticed the same?

Does youtube in fullscreen uses hardware scaling for you? (rightclick on the playing video -> show video info)
I ask because flashplugin 10 was the last able to do it by using overridegpuvalidation in mms.cfg

I even tried the config file hack, I cannot get the damn program now to recognize my card. Am i going to just have to roll back everything? This is on windows 7 and I'm using CS6 6.0.3.

Nouveau and intel drivers

I have three screen connected to my computer, one on the nvidia card and two on the intel. The two intel ones are to be mirrored. I have installed both the nouveau drivers and the intel drivers however on boot the intel screens are working until it gets to the 'waiting for udev uevents to be processed' and then switches to the nvidia screen and works normally. How can I get all three screens working?

X230T and OLD Intel HD Graphics 4000 drivers

the X230T won't let me update the graphics drivers, reporting them as newest (at least for Windows 7?), but version 9.18.10.3359 is from 2013, and my Adobe products keep complaining i need to update my drivers to use their performance features (don't even get me started on all the pen pressure issues i've had). isn't there a newer compatible driver?

GD85 and New Intel SATA drivers

Intel updated thier SATA drivers for RAID so that TRIM will work correctly.
Does one of you experts know if the new Intel drivers are included in BIOS update

Guys, I misspoke, I am not talking about the BIOS, I am talking about the Intel SATARaid drivers listed on the download website with a date of 01 2010. These are the Rapid Storage Technology drivers. I know that Intel released a new Rapid Storage Technology driver to solve a problem with TRIM when the Intel SATARAID technology is used in a RAID
mode. Basically TRIM wont work on a RAID array because of a problem in the Intel driver.
I am wondering is the 01-10 version on the download site includes the new fix.
If it doesnt can I use the Intel driver from the Intel website

Satellite U305 - New Intel drivers are not validated

I have a problem installing newest graphic drivers for Intel 965 express. Everytime I get a message that the driver being installed is not validated for this computer.
I got my drivers directly from Intel site because those are the newest ones (Toshiba site gives 2007 drivers only) but they does not work.
It looks like somehow Toshiba is blocking this driver for some reason but I don't know why

I had the same issue on my Satellite U400 notebook. I have solved this issue on this way:
Before I installed the new driver I have removed the old version. You should find it in control panel > Add/Remove programs. Then restart your notebook.
After restarting you will get the same error message I think but then you can install the driver manual. Therefore go in device manager and select the graphic card. Click on update driver and use the advanced installation. In the next windows choose the driver directory yourself.
After restarting the notebook the new driver should be installed.

Which USB B/W laser with intel drivers?

Just looking to get a small USB B/W laser printer, trying to work out which one has 10.4.9 and intel drivers for my MacBook?
Can someone recomend one that they are using.
The Brother HL-2040 or Samsung ML-2510 looks good but seems to be using a CUPs driver !!!

I highly doubt there is a laser printer out there you can throw at Mac OS that it won't handle with ease. My current setup is a Hp Laser Jet 4MP Connected to a generic USB->Parallel Adapter using the print drivers that came with Mac OS.
So I would pick based off printer features or price and not worry to much about the compatibility. Even printers that lack drivers can generally be run in a compatibility mode now that works just fine until real drivers become available even if they are through the gimp-print. Which out of the three you mention I would just be worried about the samsung the rest should work perfect right out of the box the samsung may need to use a generic driver or one of the other ml drivers from the gimp print project.

As another user posted, when using the newest PCI drivers posted, in my case, the Xtreme Music X-Fi drivers, marked as 2.8.500, the control panel, crashes or hangs when loading under Windows 7 or windows vista 64 bit.

Well John, this will blow your mind I am sure. I download the newest X-FI titanium drivers and unzip them with WINRAR. Then I browse the driver folder inside and update with those. I dont use the setup.exe as it will detect incorrect product. I choose the have disk method and it works brillantly. I used my PCI Fatality PRO with the BETAS and the control panel gave me fits. So I tried as a lark to have disk......to the Titanium drivers and it worked beautifully.
This even gave me VOICEFX for soundFX with my microphone.

HOWTO: Wine + Gallium Nine and PRIME (Intel+Radeon)

I've been trying the past weeks to have a working Wine with d3dadapter backend working with my Intel + Radeon hardware.
Finally after troubleshooting some issues on #d3d9 I've managed to have it working.
Requirements
1) Working DRI_PRIME configuration.
2) Add mesa-git repository (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … s#mesa-git)
3) Replace system mesa and install git versions of ati and intel drivers:
# pacman -S mesa-git
# pacman -S xf86-video-ati-git xf86-video-intel-git
4) Make sure Xorg and graphics acceleration still works on both Intel and Radeon.
5) Install wine-d3dadapter-git from AUR
6) This is the important step: Recompile xf86-video-intel-git and enable DRI3 (--enable-dri3)
Not needed anymore, xf86-video-intel-git from mesa-git now has DRI3 enabled out of the box.
6a) Added Feb 4: new xf86-video-intel-git versions require
Option "DRI" "3"
to be set in Xorg.conf for DRI3 to be enable.
Please refer to my configuration (http://pastebin.com/E6S9W7iG) if you need help to set up a working Xorg config for dual-card setups.
Just save it as /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-gpu.conf and make sure to change the BusID values to reflect your hardware
7) Run winecfg and enable Nine -- Graphics tab, check "Prefer native Direct3D 9"
8) Not necessary but fixes games not starting due to unknown GFX card errors (i.e. Insurgency):
8a) Start regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Wine -> Direct3D
8b) Add a DWORD key "VideoPciDeviceID", value "0x0402"
8c) Add a DWORD key "VideoPciVendorID", value "0x10de"

thread_submit=true is a Wine Nine flag to fix weird rendering on PRIME

Radeon driver is using GLAMOR acceleration instead of default EXA, as suggested by the Nine developers -- EXA may work, not tested.

EDIT: no need to recompile DRI3 on xf86-video-intel-git anymore, it's already enabled if using mesa-git repository.

@eazy, I have identical setup but I still can't get this to work on radeon (it works on Intel, though obviously frame rate is unplayable).

G570 - Some Intel drivers aren't updating - Need Help

I have the G570 Notebook. Due to numerous BSODs I am attempting to update all drivers listed at the Lenovo download drivers site.
When I updated the Intel Chipset Driver with version 9.20.1019 it said it was successful, but the Device Manager shows version 9.20.1015.
When I updated the Intel Management Engine with version 7.0..0.1144 it said it was successful but the Device Manager shows version 7.0.0.1118.
Windows Update shows an optional Thinkpad Display driver for my computer. I have a Lenovo Essential G570. Is this for my computer - I don't think so since my notebook is not a Thinkpad.
Other updates that I applied did show as updated in the Device manager.
I would appreciate some advice about all of this. Thank you.

Thank you for your advice on the include subfolders. I decided to try this out on the Intel Management Engine Interface driver.
I turned off my anti-virus and followed all of your steps to update from the device manager. I pointed it to the C\Intel Management Interface folder. I got this message:
"The best driver software for your device is already installed. Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date." So I closed the Window..
I don't understand this, but I'm hoping Windows is correct.
I didn't try the Intel Chipset driver at this time, but previously I had gone to the Intel Driver Download site where it examines your system and it didn't complain about my chipset version, It said "this version is valid".
I will leave well enough alone for now. Again, thank you for your help. You will hear from me if I get another bsod.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that when I previously attempted to update the Chipset Driver and the Intel Management Engine, the Windows Program Compatibility Assistant popped up and said "This program may not have installed correctly" I had it reinstall using recommended settings and told it to overwrite the files - I sat there for 35 minutes and finally rebooted the computer and shut it down again and saw no files were updated. A few days later I attempted the Chipset again and is said it was successfully installed but did not ask to reboot and driver version remained the same. When the Program compatibility came up for the Intel Management I told it it installed properly - it never asked for a reboot either, although I did.....I'm just giving this for additional information.

Inkscape crashes the X server (only with Intel drivers)

Hi all,
whenever I start Inkscape, it crashes the X server on the first mouse click on the work area. This occurs on my laptop with integrated Intel graphics, but not on another PC with a Nvidia graphics card. All Archlinux packages are up to date as of October 29, 2012.
Inkscape itself exits gracefully by reporting the following on the terminal:
inkscape: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.
However, the X server produces a segfault. See the following excerpt from Xorg.0.log:

I don't even know where to report this bug: the Archlinux community, the Inkscape developers, the X server developers, or whoever is in charge of the Intel drivers (who is that)? Any tips?

Y50-70 trouble with intel drivers

Hi, I'm having a problem installing some of the intel drivers on my Y50-70, I had some trouble with my OS and decided to downgrade to windows 7 which ended up needing the Partition type change which wiped the disk, so here I am.I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, I've installed most of the drivers but there are 2 that just aren't working, the only driver I have actively not installed is the webcam driver, because I'm paranoid The drivers that aren't working:Intel Management Engine Interface Driver 9.5.15.1 730-"The setup program failed to install one or more device drivers. If you don't need the Management Engine, don't bother installing the drivers for it. Disable it in BIOS too.
As for the integrated graphics driver, you need to unpack it, then manually install it using Have Disk from Device Manager.

I was not able to find profile manager on my employer's installation of 10.6 Server. Is this only a feature of 10.7/10.8 server?

10.6 server does not have profile manager, profile manager is only available in 10/7 and 10.8 server
for 10.6 server you'll need to use wgm and server admin
printer management with 10.6, I recommend you read the relevant server manuals regarding
print server and user management, printer management
