hi
i have installed workbench client on my local computer
i have mape driver folder letter D:\appname on my local computer .
I am getting the follwing error: "Run-time error '91': Object variable or With block variable not set"
Any suggestions ??

Usually this means the user does not have local administrator rights. FDM Workbench registers some components on first run.
Most times this is only on a server in situations where user does not have local admin rights or you need to execute with temporary admin rights.

OK, I understand now. You are referring to the Load Balance Server Group. Yes, this can be done:
a) Browse to Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\Products\FinancialDataQuality\SharedComponents\Config
b) Locate the LoadBalanceServerGroups.xml file
You can delete this file. The next time the workbench is launched it will ask you to set the load balance server group again and will create this file again.

Data access error while running the script in fdm workbench script editor

Hello Experts,
I have been getting the error when i run the script in script editor of fdqm workbench client.this is the error
                          -2147467259 Data access error and it is navigating the error at line 30 about this script "Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTable(strWorkTableName)"
Please revert me asap where i should load the data from peoplesoft to one of my planning database through fdm.

Thanks for your suggestion's here i am going to run the datapump script so while i am running in workbench it is throwing data access error.So as you guy's suggested i created one import format and added this script to that import format which is added to one of my location even it is throwing the same error.I am getting the error at this sentence   "strWorkTableName" I want to know what is this where it reflect's?So my question is Is there any difference while running data pump or integration script.Please let me know a detailed navigation steps to run this script's with out data access error to run these kind of scripts.
Note:Again my target is to load the data to planning database through fdqm which i am doing through sql statement's.

Questions about Workbench ES2

My setup is as follows. I have a single Livecycle 8.2 ES server running and multiple Livecycle 8.2 ES Workbench clients.
Because I'm not a masochist, I'm trying to avoid contacting Adobe's customer support and am hoping to get answers to a couple simple questions:
1. Is Workbench ES2 compatible with the ES server?
2. Is upgrading to Workbench ES2 from Workbench ES something I need to pay for? If not, where do I download the upgrade?

Workbench request goes to aother

When I am creating New request . It is going to new Workbench Earlier It was going Local Change Request but Now It is doing to PRD Production system.
Now I am unable to release Request that are in Local Change Request.

How I activate Local Change Request

Hi,
Your Workbench request in DEV is getting into PRD as customizing request, this was next to impossible.
Workbench: client independent request(usually these technical changes)
Customizing: these are client dependent(these are usually changes developed by functional ppl)
You cannot release local change request, since these request are local to tht system/client and non-transportable. Probably you can try to re-save them and system will ask new request number while saving and you can save it in transportable change request.
You can still create a new request from se01 and then add the objects of your local change request into the newly created request and save and release the request to transport.
But still certain changes are non-transportable and they will be saved as local change request and even if you transport them nothing is going to affect in target system.
For this reason we openup the client to make manual changes.
Please frame your question properly so that we can clarify your doubt.

Urgent: FDM Web Client not opening up properly after complete configuration

Hi,
I have installed FDQM 11.1.2 on a seperate server from foundation server, whole installation and
configuration process is successful. I am able to create application from workbench client and also able to
connect to an Essbase application. But when i try to access web client through url: http://localhost/HyperionFDM
the web page that opens is not not proper, and i am also not able to login from web client.
i have installed IIS 6.0 on both servers. please suggest me some ways to solve this problem.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Larry,
Of course there are instances of mistakes. What I was trying to communicate to the poster is that I am 100% certain that 2008 R2 is not supported. I've seen this mistake made at least once. The resolution is to redeploy FDM on a supported platform. That is the answer. If you call support, you will get the same answer. Wayne knows this because he used to work for support before joining our team.
If we seem inflexible on this point it is because we have taken the time to provide the answer and it seemingly is not an answer that the poster "likes" and continues to belabor the point.
Our intent is to help this issue get resolved sooner rather than later. By searching for a non supported work around, the poster is going to waste seemingly valuable time.
Hopefully that helps you appreciate our perspective.

Developing services on one client, testing on another

We have a customer who uses an embedded Netweaver Gateway deployment. They have 3 clients in their development system. One is used for customization. One is used for workbench. And the last is their de facto QA system.
The last client ("QA") is set to not modifiable. The first two clients have no master data on them at all, so we cannot test in either of those clients. The Netweaver Gateway configuration is done in 100 and transported across to 110 and 300. So the system aliases are setup.
Development of the service is successful in the workbench client. When we register the service, we get a green traffic signal and are able to test it in the workbench client. Because there is no data, we can only do a metadata test.
However when we log onto the third client ("QA"), and maintain the service, the green traffic signal is replaced by a yellow yield signal. If we click on "register", we are told that the service has already been registered. If we maintain it, there is no system alias assigned to the service. Because fo this, when we test the service, we get an error. We cannot delete the service and re-register it again because of the not modifiable setting.
I realize this setup is a bit unorthodox, but customers are customers. Besides asking the customer to unlock the third client, are there any other suggestions someone would suggest?

I'm a newbie in FDM. I'm accessing Workbench Client from my local machine(Windows XP). When I choose to create a new application it is giving this error: "-2147220992- Error in EnumProjects"(clsAppMgr.mDisplayNewApp).

Hello,
As it appears you have multiple issues (Workbench Win32 issues, IIS issues, SharedServices issues, etc.) I would suggest you create an SR to have someone from support help you from a complete perspective. Issues that spread out of more than 'one single issue' are hard to diagnose via the forums and do not offer a speedy response as we can not see anything about your environment.
Keep in mind Support sometimes can not fix your "environment" but only point out what was done wrong during the installation/implementation. It is at that point your priority to work internally to find the resources to address the issues.

As per your requirement, AET table enhancement will be best suited to it.
Use the help.sap.com link i gave in earlier reply to know more about AET table enhancements.
Now to get on to this task ,
1) Use transaction AXTSYS and create an entry for Z component, give a name say ZAET_TBLEXT.
and Save. The AET Table extension, then will use this component by default( if you select the radio button there) to create the views. Remember, just give any name you desire for the component. You dont need to create this componenet. AET extension wizard will create the component automatically.
2) Open the overview page on which you would like to have the tableview as an assignment block. Since its a compititor info, i assume you want to place it on a BP/Account/Prospect. Competitor Overview Page or Opportunity Overview Page. Now chose the config button and once the Assignment blocks are highlighted, select the Header View( Compititor header or Opportunity header view depending on the overview page you are in) and config tool will open. Use the Display Enhancement button or create enhancement button and another popup will open which display the enhancements if any,
3) On this Pop up you will see the AET table extensions assignment block. Use the Add table button. Follow the wizard and create the table, mention fields, translations etc. Also mention it as 1:n relation and so the table view. Chose the Standard buttons so you get all action buttons as well as inser, editlist, delete buttons etc.
Once done, save and generate. This creates the view and also adds the component usage on overviewpage.
Now all you need to do is just configure the overviewpag to pull the new tableview assignment block from Available to Displayed blocks.
Note :
1) this creates a Ztable , name same as mentioned/defaulted while AET table enahncement
2) this create Z BOL entity with 1:n relation with Access Entity of OverviewPage , for example, BuilHeader if account overview page or BTAdminH if Opportunity overview page.
3) creates BOL strucutre, handler class etc on its own.
4) You do not need to do any coding,
Thus in half an hour, you are done with Table view enhancement with Z table based entities.
Before EhP1, we had to extend the BT/BP model with ZBOL and had to do a lot of thigs on our own. Almost 2 days job for an advance developer which is reduced to 15-20 minutes with zero coding required.
If you have a sandbox or IDES system, i would recommand you to try it there frst, get confident and then do development on your development system.
Remember ->
1) AET Enhancement tool has to be started from WEB UI - which is generally runs on Customizing client, but creating AET table and enhancements is Workbench task. So if your customizing client is locked for workbench developments, then You must run the WEBUI on your workbench client ( use transaction wui ). It does not make any difference as far as development is concerned because your development its pure Workbench activity. later, you configure the Overview Page to pull the AET table view on your customizing client.
2) Be confident and have well determined about the table design & about your table view design like the fields you need etc. because once you add the fields and mention the field type like Numeric, indicator,text etc, you can not change it later once the Tableview is generated. You can add more fields later and you can delete fields too but you can not change their type later.

Deteriorating Performance

As has been posted in a number of threads, performance issues can be complex to resolve. All components of the system should have log files checked and you need to be certain the guidelines for creation for the repository, as documented in the FDM DBA Guide have been followed.
We have observed that maturing or heavily used applications can sudden deteriorate in performance. This is due to the TDataSeg and TDataMapSeg tables being created incorrectly at the time the application is first created using the Workbench client. Both these tables are typically missing vital Indexes and Primary Keys. The effect of this not immediately noticed and dependent on Database RAM allocation and cacheing size but once DataSegments approach 1,000,000 rows performance will drop off rapidly. Since the Map records are significantly smaller than the Data records the same performance deterioration cannot be seen but the fact that Primary Keys are missing off these tables can create longer than necessary Validation processing.
Having these primary keys and indexes missing also puts the Database instance under unexpected resource usage since it has to work whole tables.
The problem can first be observed in version 9.3.1 and affects both MS SQL and Oracle databases.
We have not tested each release since 9.3.1 but we can say that by 11.1.1.4 the MS SQL databases are created correctly with indexes. In version 11.1.1.4 Oracle 10g tables are still missing the indexes.
Use of SQL Developer or SQL Management Studio can quickly confirm if your TDataSegx and TDataMapSegx tables are missing indexes.
The following SQL can be used on each data segment to add the missing indexes (replace xx with 1 thru 50, 50 being the default number of data segments). It adds Primary and Secondary indexes to DataSeg and DataMapSeg tables within Oracle 10g databases. (Will need syntax tweaking for MS SQL)
Obviously, it is strongly advised to test any such changes to production systems in development and with appropriate backups being taken.

Its difficult to say when this problem first arose. The FDM API Scripting and API Guide, written for version 9.2, documents the TDataSeg and TDataMapSeg objects and clearly shows the required Prime and Secondary Indexes so its possible that older (pre 9.3.1) applications or those with that have had their schemas upgraded from previous versions may not demonstrate this problem.
Performance gains for large DataSegments (2,000,000 rows+) are significant with basic screen displays reducing from 2 minutes to 10 seconds.

Have an issue with the use of "DEFERRABLE and INITIALLY DEFERRED" for a FK in the FDM (HFM) product that I can't seem to get support for .. does anyone know why I can't just skip the use of "DEFERRABLE and INITIALLY DEFERRED" until the consultants are contacted? it's the weekend and I need to get my database up but Oracle won't support or answer my question.
I have extracted the DDL out of the Oracle FDM database, and would assume that the syntax works. But it doesn't. I can't use "DEFERRABLE INITIALLY DEFERRED" & "ON DELETE CASCADE" in an ALTER statement. The FK can be created just fine with either option but not both. If I create the FK with "ON DELETE CASCADE" the SET CONSTRAINTS command won't allow me to make it DEFERRABLE. Geezzz... exmaple below

"Import Failed" when trying to run a import (Integration) script from FDM

Backgroud about the Issue : My source system for data is Oracle Orion and the Destination is HFM.Trying to import data fom orion to HFM through FDM via ODBC connectivity.
Modified the "Integration Script Example" in fdm_admin guide and with this i am able to import data from the Orion to the FDM staging table "tDataSegX" however i am not abel to see any data in the FDM (Import Module) and thats when i get this error "Import Failed".
Posisble casue according to my knowledge : My Import script only includes code to 1.Connect to ODBC data source 2. copies all the values from the Source table to the staging table.
I am not sure if i am missing some attributes in the script ??!!
can some one help me in checking if my imoport scritp is correct ??!!!

How to remove the default members of a dimension from the control table?

Hi all,
I am new to hyperion FDM 11.1.1.2.0.0 .
When I navigate to Metadata>Control Tables and try to delete the default memmbers
for the dimension like category and period i got the following error.
Error: Period( 8/31/2009 ) is an active Global or Local Period and cannot be deleted.
Then again i unchecked active checkbox for that dimension from Hyperion Essbase Integration Setup of Workbench Client.
After doing that i got the following error
Error: Unable to retrieve target System Data.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the default members of a dimension from the control table?

Create a new record for the table.
Go change the POV to the new record.
Return to the control table and delete the default record.

ChaRM in solution manager

Dear experts,
We had implemented the SM3.2 (change request management ,EWA and Support desk) in 3-tier landscape, my question is whether we can implement the Change Request Management in 2 tier landscape .
The scenario which we have is 2-systems -
Production with 700 & 900 client and Development with 200 , 300 , 400 .
200---Development client
300---Customizing client
400---Testing client
700---Pre production client
900---Production client
Usually by normal transport system we use to take the request from 200 & 300 to 400, after that we again test it in 700 then take it to 900 production client.
Now please suggest that how we can configure change request in this scenario, if not possible can clients within the system be configure as different system.
can we configure the ChaRM as 200>400>900 where 200 & 400 are the clients of same server or 200>700>900 .

Dear cherry , prakash and tom..
See i think i am still not able to clear the scenerio.....
1. Dev box is having 200 300 400 clients
2. Prd is having 700 900 client ..now i want to take the request by both of following routes -->
1. 200--> 900....as the 200 is workbench client so testing not required
in this case i got stuck after releasing the request frm dev server .........now no option in change document for importing it directly to production is there .
2. 300-->400 for testing in dev customzing scenerio.
then 300--> 700 for testing in PRD customzing scenerio.
then from 300 --->900.
no idea how to do this.
i hav done all the customizing required alongwith CTC=1 extended tr. control as i have already had configured CHARM in 3-system landscape
simply i want to ask that what should be the TMS route structure for such kind of scenerio.
Also u have mentioned that it can b done through transport gr.........is it transport gr or transport target group u are talking abt.

FDM schema upgrade error 91-Object variable or With block variable not set

Hi,
I try to upgrade FDM schema to 11.1.2.1 using FDM Workbench Client.
From log it looks like we go fine through first 4 steps.
When it comes to metadata (5 step) FDM gives the same error:
Step 5: Updating Metadata Failed!
91-Object variable or With block variable not set
User that logs into the app is domain admin.
I just check out that shared folder (FDM folder) has write permission for this user.
DB user set in connection properties is DB owner.
Under Dcomcnfg identity set to the right domain user in the following:
HFMServer
HFMService
HSXServer
HSVDataSource
Any idea what is wrong?

idea looks good.
Completely forgot to install Excel but we have to organize 64Bit version.
For now 5 points as this is helpfull :) will check tomorrow morning
