Workbook error in GUI 7.20

Hi,
We have just upgraded to SAP GUI 7.20 and have office 2007 with windows 7 on our computers.
Now, when we are changing old workbooks (developed in GUI 7.10) with standard BEx buttons, we are getting an error: error in loading dll when executing the buttons.
When I am design mode, I get the error:
The BEx Analyzer cannot generate VBA code due to the security settings.
The security settings in my office are set to trust visual basic.
Any other things, I can try?

Those are the specs of the Software Components, the backend... As we mentioned before, download the latest SAPGUI version and install it in your PC...
The latest SAPGUI can be downloaded from https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/support, go to Downloads, then "Browse the Navigation Area", on the left click "A-Z Index", then click on "G" and you'll see the "SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS" option, click on it...
You can download it from here... Please notice your OSS user needs authorization to do so... Probably need to check with your Basis guys for this...

Make sure that the user is able to access workstream from the site collection through VPN. If the user is able to access already, try to download the file locally and see if the data is getting loaded and upload again.

Schedule workbook error

I face some problem when trying to schedule workbook, as stated below:
I have a column length change from VARCHAR2(35) to VARCHAR2(100). Now if I try to make "Schedule workbook" we got an error generated in the Discoverer's package, and this error looks like:
“Error:
ORA-12899 value too large for column
"SCH_NP_DIS"."EUL5_B130708054654Q1R1"."BRVC69"
(actual: 36,maximum: 35).”
I found here in one post that I need to delete the scheduled workbook and refresh the EUL.
But I am not sure how to refresh EUL using GUI interface of Discoverer administrator. Could anyone help me by mentioning the steps of EUL refresh. Or is there any other option to get rid of this error?

I agree with the methodology you found in this forum to fix this problem:
-delete scheduled workbook (of course the workbook which the scheduled workbook is dependent is not deleted).
-refresh EUL objects which have changed.
With respect to how to refresh an EUL object (e.g. a folder which contains an object which has been modified), one just opens the owning Business Area and right clicks on the folder. Next, select Refresh.
With respect to canceling the existing scheduled workbook, the reason for this is that the scheduling components in the scheduling schema create a view and a table which corresponds with the results set's columns data definition at the time of scheduling.

Broadcasting Workbook Error | An active RFC server could not be found

Hi All,
I am facing an issue while trying to broadcast(distribute) a workbook. The broadcasting of a query from the query designer works fine. But when I try to distribute a workbook, it throws up the following error. We have used the SMTP method(Using SMTP plug-in) for broadcasting and we know that we can use RFC(Using RFC connection) too. But my question is whether RFC method is a must for workbook distribution.Kindly help me.

Precalculation servers are basically PC, that are used for their Excel capabilities, in order to produce up-to-date workbooks.

Error in GUI of Cisco 3850 Switch with Wireless Controller.

I have Configured 3850 switch wireless controller. But while accessing the controller through GUI, I faced following errors while configuring it through GUI.
Because its complecated to configure it through CLI.

Please look at OSS Note 684576, which explains this problem. It asks you to "To resolve this issue, please intall the SAP Gui 620 final release with patch level 38 or higher."

Discoverer Viewer and Scheduled workbooks error

Hi
Hope someone can help.
I am scheduling workbooks in Discoverer Plus 10.1.2.48 with the intention of viewing them in viewer.
The report shows itself as running okay in Admin, but when I open the report in Viewer or Plus I get errors including:
ORA-03106 Fatal two task communication error
or
"unable to generate sql for this scheduled workbook"
I suspect they might be retrieving fairly large result sets (10 K rows +)
Please can anyone offer advice on how to resolve this?

Well just the way the file is put together, like is it using SID= or SERVER=, does it use SERVER=DEDICATED, do you have one ADDRESS= or multiple?
To make sure everything is right, rename both TNSNAMES and SQLNET.ORA files, then suse Net Configuration Assistant to set up a connection. Then compare that with what you have already and make the necessary changes.
I also noticed that Russ has made a posting concerning a similar error. You should take a look. Its either in here on the Discoverer forum.

Workbook Error

We use a Structure in many of our BW reports. Recently we have changed the structure a little bit. Due to this change many workbooks are giving authorization errors when loading them. When I run the used query in the workbook w/o workbook the report runs fine. I tried to remove the query from the workbook and then reisert it and save the workboo, it works fine. But I can not do this with every workbook as there are a lots of formatting in these workbook.
Is there a way to adjust these workbooks w/o removing and re-inseting the queries.

We had a similar problem a couple of years ago. In our case, we changed the structure in a query and all workbooks using that query started showing the dreaded "No applicable data found" message.
By going to the Local Query tool, we discovered that the structure had been "deactivated" in the workbook, i.e. it was moved to the Free Characteristics section of the query and all key figures were hidden. To resolve this problem, we just moved the structure back to the Columns and unhid the appropriate key figures. After that, rerunning the query gave the correct results, and we were able to resave the workbook without resorting to the delete/reinsert technique.
This approach was much easier, since it preserves all the formatting, etc. of the workbooks. Still a lot of work if you have a lot of workbooks to change, though. In fact, our biggest headache was tracking down all the users who had saved copies of the faulty workbooks as Favorites, and going through the above approach for each of those workbooks.

Advance Analysis Workbook Error ID-111006 on Refresh

We're currently on version 1.4.4.2737. I've created the advanced analysis office workbook using BOBJ connection and stored it on my PC. Next time when I open the workbook from PC and try to refresh it, it asks for BOBJ credential and then executes and I get attached message. No dump found in SAP BI (ST22).
If I create the workbook using SAP BI (Enter Skip on BOBJ credential popup) and then tried to reopen it, Refresh works perfectly fine.
Any idea why it gives error while refreshing the workbook on PC created using BOBJ connection?

We are presently using 1.4.9.3240 .I have an issue when I try to pull seven mesures which are tenure feilds in my scenario and which have maximum of 8 decimals ie (10892443.484) and have filtered with backgroud filters which are restricted data which should bring a result of 450 records approximately. Exception errors with GUI

Hello, I've been working on some Java as part of an engineering project, however my skills with Java aren't great, and my skills with GUI and Networking (which this involves) were only as a user before starting this. A problem that I haven't been able to get around is an exception error when using the actionPerformed method from java.awt.* .
My goal is to be able to, when a button is pushed, send a UDP packet with the command of the button to another PC. My understanding from tutorials is that actionPerformed is the method to use for when buttons are pushed, however creating or using a DatagramSocket inside this method causes an exception error (java.net.SocketException). Normally I would just tell it to throw exceptions, but when trying it says it cannot overwrite the method. I thought I got around this by placing the socket within another method and calling that instead, but that just simply caused a different exception (java.lang.Exception).
Any suggestions on how to make this work, or am I using the wrong method for this sort of thing?

Workbook Error after upgrade

Hi ,
we have upgraded the BW from 3.5 to 7.0 with EHP1 and ADDON of SEM 6.03. While testing the BCS workbooks we got the below error.The other workbooks are working fine.
"Error Version not specified or not unique"
"Error reading the data of InfoProvider ZBCS_C11I"
"Error while reading data;Navigation is possible"
The said infoProvider is the Virtual Infocube and i can read the data by doing the LISTCUBE on this but not able to run any queries or workbooks on BCS virtual cubes .
If any body has come across this kind of issue or have a solution please let me know.

Just to clarify the release v functions in EHPs for you:
You can installl the ehancement packs (eg EHP4) and you'll have the associated release (eg 6.04)
However, after this EHP installation you don't have any new functions unless you activate them in SFW5
So you might have 6.02 but you won't have the functions available in FIN_ACC_GROUPCLOSE until it is activated
Available functions to activate per EHP;
EHP2/6.02     FIN_ACC_GROUPCLOSE
EHP3/6.03     FIN_ACC_GROUPCLOSE_2
EHP4/6.04     FIN_ACC_GC_TAXRATECHG (previously incorrectly announced as FIN_TAX_RATE_ADJUSTMENT)
Meanwhile with the workbooks, it might be prudent to rebuild them - the BI team at a client of mine has refused to support user-made workbooks because they have diverged too far from the original queries. Therefore any change of the queries means that the users have to rebuild their workbooks.
In this case though we are only talking approx. 6 consolidation workbooks for BCS reports.
