Workbook in user menu

Hi,
In the SAP user menu, the user would like to have the link for a particular workbook.
How can it be set up?
Thanks.

P R - adding a link to a workbook in a user menu is as simple as saving the workbook and putting it into a security role that contains the user menu. Please note that the person saving the workbook will need authorization to make changes to the user role. In my company, we have a specific user menu security role that exists just for the purpose of having a user menu. All users are granted this role, so all users share the same user menu. But only developers and security configurators have the right to change the user menu security role.

  • Issue accessing workbook from user menu.

    Hi,
We are facing an issue in opening the workbook from the User menu.
Workbook is working fine if we open it directly from BEx Analyzer but its not opening the workbook report when we click it from the user menu link.
This issue started coming when we upgraded the microsoft excel from 2003 to 2007.
Any information related to it would be helpful.

    Neha,
We have had several issues similar running SAP BW 7.0 with BEx 3.5 workbooks after upgrading to Excel 2007. There are several SAP Notes concerning various Excel 2007 related errors. Most of these seem to be bundled in the just-released SAP BEx 3.5 Add-On Patch 7 for SAPGUI 710, so my advice would be to download this patch if you have not done so already.
    Hope this helps...

  • Worbooks not visible in User menu after Upgrade from BW 3.0 to BW 7

    Hi,
We're currently processing the Upgrade of our BW system.
We meet a problem about the visibility of our existing workbooks in User menu of the new Bex Analyzer. The system is apparently successfully upgraded, we nevertheless have this issue. We know that we have to convert the workbooks, but before doing that, we would like to see them....
Can someone help us ? Is maybe it a authorization problem ?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Steph.

Can you still see them in the 'old'  BEx?
If so: try to execute them there.  If you get no error => no authorisation problem.
Also, in the new BEx you can try to find them via the find button.
Bear in mind that with the NW04s BEx you don't see the whole menu tree, but only one level at the time.
I should also mention that there are problems with displaying favorites stored in folders.  Note 955979 solves that.

  • Workbook in role but not on user menu

    Hi All
I have a workbook saved under a certain role menu. The workbook apeears fine under the role when using BEx.
However, the workbook has disappeared from the User-Menu in SAP-GUI.
I have tried to refresh the user menu, change and re-save the workbook in the role (via BEx and via PFCG), I checked report: RSWB_ROLES_REORG but nothing helped.
I searched for notes but nothing seemed relevant.
    Any help?
    Thanks,
    Yaniv

    Hi,
The issue because of MS 2007. it would not be compatible sometimes.
for that you have install the latest patch for the BEx and dotnet framework on your desktop.
it would be available in the service market place.

  • Find query technical name for a deleted query/workbook in the User Menu

    Hi,
When a BEx workbook or BEx query is published in a role, people with that role will see the query / workbook in their user menu.
It is possible to change the caption/title of the 'node' in the user menu so it does not necessarily have the same name as the report.
I am now in a situation where a user tries to run a query/workbook from the user menu, and runs in an error message 'query does not exist on server'.
How can I found out to which query/workbook a node in the user menu refers?
I have tried the Metadata repository but because of the many nodes in the user menu this is a laborious task.
I was hoping to find a table where I could use the role name and node name to find the 'target' report but I haven't been able to find such a table.
    Any (other) suggestions?
    Many thanks,
    Jan.

    Hi,
You can publish the workbook to the role and as user have access to the role he can access the workbook also.

  • Could not able to access workbook from the favorites of User Menu

    Hi all,
I have got a problem in accessing Workbook from the User menu (SAP GUI) Favorites.
I added a workbook to my favorites but now when i double click on the Workbook from my USER MENU (SAP GUI),
BEX is opening and the connection is also maintained but the workbook is not appearing in the BEX.
I checked in SU53 and this is not related to any authorization issues.
Could anyone help me in solving this issue and
    providing ?

I can't aunderstand why it happens, but try adding the workbook to a role and assign the role to your user.
    Hope it helps.

  • Unable to Open Bex report from SAP APO User Menu

    Hi All,
I am an  SAP APO consultant, and have not miuch expereice in BEx reporting. As APO uses Build in BI for reporting and pulling history from either external BW or R/3.
Now my issue all BEx reports we use are assigned ot my user menu and when I select a report, I would expect report to open but an excel sheet opens and closes and nothing happens. However I am able to open this reports from my desktop menu selecting Business explorer and Analyzer and linking my SAP system. I use Excel 2007 , Is this some compactibilty issue or is there anything I need to do?

    Hi KV,
There's a couple of possible root cause why you dont see properly the Bex Report.
Can you share to me the APO version and the BW software component being used?
In case this is still in the 3.x, 4.x APO, I think, a separate BW add on is needed for you to run your BEx report properly. You can ask your basis team for this separate installation.
Btw, is this report working before, meaning was it pulled successfully already in the past?
Can you try doing this again in a separate workstation, as the BW add on is installed separately per workstation.
Its possible that this is also an auth issue that the user you are using is not capable enough to run BEx.
As of now, I have not encountered any Bex issue that is related with the Excel version, I have tried running Bex in Excel 2007 no issue also. I think it maybe more related with the OS you are using, if its in Vista already what I know is you need to add your excel as a trusted document before you can run bex fro Vista.
Let me think of other possibilities.
    Hope this helps.

    Greetings all,
Can anyone please advise how to remove the Administrator / Super User menu that appears when you right click the Windows Icon (old start button) in Server 2012 R2 - for RDS users. I have searched and been able to disable access to each of these menu items (Control

  • How to Hide User Menu at the Bottom of the Screen

    Hi, all:
I am new to apex, currently using 3.2.1.
I have created a simple interactive report, the screen shows report data correctly AND
a user menu at the bottom. the user menu content is:
    user name
Home Application 101 Edit Page 1 Create Session Activity Debug Show Edit Links
how do I hide this menu when end user access the app?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi,
That "menu" is called developer toolbar.
It is visible only when you have login to APEX builder and run your app.
So it will not be visible for end users.

  • Transaction code for user menu, sap easy access

    Hi system experts!
Does anybody know which transaction causes the user-specific menu within "SAP easy access" (the welcome screen after login, like /n does) ?
I need it to be called from a portal iView, so that the usual sapgui-like screen with the user's menu appears in a portal screen, both for SAPGUI for windows and http.
Trx. S000 or SESSION_MANAGER does not cause the user-specific menu when called from the portal. These work least of all for call via ITS.
    thanks
    Andreas

    hi ,
The transaction code is SE41.. This is for creating Menus and tool bars.
you can also try SMEN it will call the user menu as you described in your post.

  • Understanding the User Menu in XI

    hi,
I am pretty new to XI (as you can probably tell by few queries i have posted).
When you log in to your XI SAP system, the system essentially displays a "User Menu", which includes many folder with different options for monitoring, sld, runtime settings, configuration,...etc.
Just curious to find out what each of the options on the user menu does and more so when would you actually use those options. Have tried to click on some of the options and get familiar with them. But is there a more specific document provided by SAP that explains each functionality (besides maybe the documentation help).
Also speaking as a beginner, what is a good strategy to get more acquainted and understand XI? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Manpreet

    Hi,
Apart from help.sap.com, u have very good Articles in the <b>articles section</b> which will speak about Design, configurations, Adapters, Runtime and all u need in different pdf files and ppts. all u need to do is go to Articles section and serch for the Right document that u need. ( i cannot mention all the pdf file names here.. it will fill the whole page ).
also when u go to XI home page, u will find
<b>e-learning</b> link on the righthand side. Listen to the Beginners section. This will also help u a lot.
While creating scenario's u can look at the <b>weblogs section of XI</b>. and its a knowledge repository ( help.sap.com made simpler )
all the above mention links help u in understanding XI better. But u should start working on
    1) simple File to File
    2) File to DB  and other simple scenario's to really get how things work in XI.
The best part is u already have weblogs (step-by-step procedure ) mentioning these.... )
For the rest u have XI forum )
    Hope this helps you.
    Cheers,
    Siva Maranani.

  • No user menu available in PI 7.1

    Hi,
in a new installed PI 7.1 I logged on with my user (profile SAP_ALL), but have only the SAP menu and no user menu enabled.
I already checked table USERS_SSM with SM30 like described in note 380029, but it seems to be ok.
What is missing for enable the user menu?
    Thanks and regards
    Patrick

The profile is not enough also the needed role has to be added in PFCG.

  • I am loging in SAP. Initial screen come where it display User Menu and Sap

    Dear All,
When i am loging in SAP. Initial screen come where it display User Menu and Sap Menu, but User menu is in active not showing but T code are executing then what object i have missed.
    can u help me?
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi Sachin,
It doesn't care if you're using SAP_ALL or any of those profile. That is not relevant. I had that case a few days ago, I'm not using any of those profiles and I made it work with help of one post.
If you put the transactions in the tab "Menu" of the role in the PFCG, and if you activate parameters I mentioned in a prior post, then you should see the Menu.
Tables SSM_CUST and USERS_SSM. The first is global and the other is user-especific.
The link in one of the first post of this thread hace all the info.
That should work, that worked in my case.
What values the parameters have on those tables? The more the info the better.
Updating the parameters on those tables should help. If still doesn't work then you should check another parameter using transaction RZ10 or report RSPARAM.
If my info solves your problem, points are appreciated, if not, we will try...
    Jose
