Workbook in webtemplate

hello friends,
can u please tell me that can we create a web tamplate for workbook..? i have created a workbook and saved 2 queries in that. now i want to execute the same workbook on qweb so i will be able to view both view on web..
please tell me how to do this..thanks in advance

Yes I think you can create a web template based on query and view and not on a workbook.
Open a New Web Template. Pull a TABLE CONTROL and the TABLE control GENERAL property tab you can assign the query or view. Similary for the second query you can pull one more TABLE control and assign the second query.
Open the query in Bex, retrieve the values and press save button Bex tool bar. There is an option "Save as a global view".

Hi,
In our company, we are trying to shift toward webreports from workbooks. But, I see a lot of functionality missing when we use a webreport. Like, we can not freeze the panes in a webreport etc.
Could you list the advantages that we get with webreports and the limitations we have with webreports over workbooks. Or could you point me to a paper or a source which has the detailed info. This would be very helpful for me to make peace with my users.

When you create a web template with a "Table" item you can specify that the table only display N number of lines. With this you will get the scrolling ability and retain the column headings.
Your "Table" Item is assigned to a dataprovider. Your dataprovider is either a query or a query view.

Query on workbook.

Is it possible to build Query on workbook?
ie: Is it possible to summarize the results of two querys and to display the result in another query.
Problem: Due to wrong definition of field the data get overflowed and results in sql error in query.
Now if i change the field definition thant its a risky process due to the data presence for field in different target.
Instead of that i have planned to built two queries with different selection and summarize the result in third query and attach the third query in webtemplate for web reporting.
Sure points for valid inputs.

Yes, it is possible to summarize the results of two querys and to display the result in another query by using workbook.
Create a workbook with the two queries in two seperate worksheets(sheet1 & sheet2) in the workbook.
Take a new work sheet(sheet3) for the 3rd query i.e. result query. In this worksheet you copy the result of 1st query and 2nd query and add it

You can write a formulia for adding these two query result.
Select the cell which you want the summiation of 1st and 2nd query to be displayed in sheet3. Type = in that cell and click the sheet1 and select the result of 1st query ( we displayed 1st query in sheet1) then type + and click sheet2 and select the result of 2nd query ( we displayed 2nd query in sheet2) then press enter. Now you can see the summiation of these two queries in that cell in sheet3.
Now attach this workbook in webtemplate for web reporting.

Standard table for finding query where used list

Are there any standard tables available to find the list of web templates, bex reports and views using a particular query?
i.e if i have the query name i should be able to find out where all it is being used.

You have to join multiple tables to achieve this, here we go
FOR QUERY Related Information
RSRREPDIR - Directory of all reports (Query GENUNIID)
Choose Type of a reporting component -> REP
Tips :
Choose Type of a reporting component -> QVW for query view
SE11 -> RSZ* -> F4 gives you all tables related to queries
For WORKBOOK Related Information
Use the FM RRMX_WORKBOOK_QUERIES_GET to get the queries in a workbook by selecting the workbook ID from table RSRWORKBOOK
Tips :
SE11 -> RSRWB* -> F4 gives you all tables related to workbooks
SE37 ->RRMX_WORKBOOKS* -> F4 gives you all the FM related to workbooks
For Webtemplate Related Information
Choose the dataprovider for query / view ID.

Creating report based on master data

Hi Guys,
I want to create a specific report based on master data in BI cube. for example... a report which takes cost center and period as variable and display expenses for that period and cost center. This report I want to create for all cost center in BI database separately. any idea how can we do this?
There are 2000 cost centers and I need to print/send 2000 reports one for every cost center.
If I store all cost center in excel file, can it be easier?
broadcasting and creating 2000 schedule - not option.

Hi stuti misra,
Create ONE Query with selection Cost Center and Period are inputs.
Create text variables for Cost Center and Period and add in Query Description.
After query execution you can see description based on selection in workbook or webtemplate.

Information broadcaster :
      you can precalculate and distribute(thru mail) the query, workbook and webtemplate through online link or html file to the receipents (users).

Infopackage scheduling:
     you can schedule the infopackage daily at your desired time .In the schedule tab ,select the start later in background and in the scheduling option give the date and time and give the period values as daily.

I have to transport following objects. They are all in separate transports. Can you tell me the correct order?

can i start with cross questioning..
hw did u collect all these objects seperately in different requests.
as far as i know if u know u r transporting workbook and webtemplate, in same request collect all the objects
so all variables used within, all CKF,RKF formulaes, variables, user exits etc within the workbook or webtemplate
u can transport within same request
so u dnt hv to worry about elements used within and u jst hv to transport all together within same request
if tht doesnt solve
try to remove objects from request
login to se10
go to ur request
delet it and unlock it
and try to create new reqest and cllect all elements within 1 request and transport it.

I wonder if there is an option to call a workbook from a web query.
I need to open a workbook from a web link or from a web query.
How can i do this??? i don't have SAP portal

create the following BSP application.
1. go to se80 and choose BSP application from the dropdown and enter a name for hit and hit enter, the system will prompt you to create it, create the same .
2. add a page to the bsp application with .xls externsion. (wbviewer.xls)
3. declare the following page attributes
file_content TYPE STRING
file_xcontent TYPE XSTRING
wa_wbdata TYPE RSRWBSTORE
wbdata TYPE RSR_RPEC_BIN_FILE
wbid TYPE RSSGUID25
for wbid attribute make sure auto checkbox is checked.
4. clear all the default code from layout section.
5. in oninitialization event enter the following code.
refresh wbdata .
clear: file_content .
data: temp_string type string .
select * from rsrwbstore into table wbdata
 where workbookid = wbid.
if not wbdata[] is initial .
loop at wbdata into wa_wbdata.
 clear temp_string .
 temp_string = wa_wbdata-clustd .
 concatenate file_content temp_string into file_content .
endloop.
clear file_xcontent .
file_xcontent = file_content .
call method response->if_http_entity~set_data
 exporting
 data = file_xcontent.
endif .
save and activate the page and application.
now if you call the following url, it will open the work book and the same url can be set in your webtemplate.
http://<bwhost>.<domain>.com:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/<bspapplicationame>/pagename.xls?wbid=<workbookid>

Precalculation of WebTemplates

Hi all,
We have a BI 7.0 Web Template with two variables. I want to use Precalculation for it with all the Variable Values and then Publish it into Portal. I have few gaps and doubts about the procedure to carry it out.
1. Is it necessary to install PreCalculation Server even for Precalculation of Webtemplates. I am not using any Workbooks for Precalculation.
2. If it is required to Install Precalculation Sever for Webtemplates, how to balance the load between different servers as this Web Template has 7 Queries in it.
3. If it is not required to Install Precalculation Server for my requirement, How can I balance or spread the load so that individual Precalculated templates can be generated based on Variable values. (Approx: 200 Variable combinations)
4. Any pre-requisites to use Information Broadcasting in this scenario?
Someone please throw some light on my doubts and help me out about the way to carry this precalculation for Web Templates. Thanks for your help.

How to see workbook in the browser

i have created a structure according to user . and saved in the workbook . now user want to see the same workbook structure in browser . is there any way to see the workbook in browser. i tried to save a workbook in web browser. and try to open it . it opens in excel insted of IE. any suggestions will be helpful . thanks in adavance .

You can do this,
Open the query in the query designer. There is an icon in the tool bar called 'Display Query on the web' (third icon). Once the query opens in IE, copy the link and save it.
You can send this link to anyone. When they click it, the report will open in IE browser (in the default web template provided by SAP). Later on you can create your own webtemplate if required).

Open Workbook in Broadcaster

Hi,
When I call up the Broadcaster, I have the following links on the top:
Settings Web Template | Settings Query | Overview of Scheduled Settings
However, on our sandbox, there is a Settings Workbook link. Does anyone know how I can get the Settings Workbook link to show up, so I can open a workbook to distribute? Do I need to modify the class CL_RSRD_WWW_WEB_ITEM_BROADCASTER? But I have little ABAP skill.

Can you open up your sandox, login to WAS and see what is the default template name that has the workbook tab.
Now compare that default template with the one in Dec box. May be they are different. Do a search in Dev box and see if you have that template in here... IF yes, make this the default template in transaction code SPRO. You can also use Transaction RSCUSTV11 to go to that screen directly.
If its not there in the system, you can create it very easily. in sand box WAD, once you have the template open, go to HTML view-> copy code.
Paste that into a new webtemplate in Dev box and save it.

Report-Report-Interface Workbook to Workbook

Hello all,
I am searching for a functionality which I would expect in BW-standard.
In Transaction RSBBS there is no possibility to define a Workbook as jump target.
As you select a query and then create the interface target it is possible to assign
a Webtemplate, Crystal Report, and so on as target but not a Workbook.
But as this is essential for end users who want to jump from Workbook to Workbook
and as I am not able to enter the ID for a Workbook in any of the target types I am
wondering if this basic functionality is just missing or if there is any workaround for this.
We are using SAP NW 7.0 with BW-Patch 20. Please let me know!

this is technical not possible, because this is a totally different technology. May you can achieve this with a lot of ABAP Coding. First you need to know which queries are in the workbook. You can get this with Funtion Module:
RRMX_WORKBOOK_QUERIES_GET
Now you must create a WebTemplate:
May you do that in ABAP two. Create a big string with all the tags the webapplication designer creates normally. After that you must store that template to database:
The ABAP OO CLass CL_rsz_www_db_interface has a methode called SET_template. I recommend to record a trace with transaction rsrtrace, to see what kind of parameters are necessary to store a template to database. After that you can execute the newly created template in browser.
But i do not exactly know why you want to do this stuff.
And it is definately not recommended to do such things.

My company recently implemented SharePoint Foundation 2013 and our shared Excel workbooks are no longer allowing multiple users to collaborate at the same time. We have verified that all the settings and permissions are correct and that checking in and
checking out is not required. Is this something that is not available with SharePoint Foundation? We are using Office 2013 installed on the clients, not Office online. Thank you.

Co-authoring of Excel workbooks is only supported when all the editors are using the Excel web application, not the Excel client application.

Error while transporting a Workbook

I got an Error while transporting a Workbook from Development to quality.The error is "logical transport object 432L not found in table RSTLOGOPROP".

Hi,
You have to create a new request and transport it again before transporting ensure that you collect all the dependent objects manually in the "Transport Connection" in the collection options.
