Workbook precalculation service for 2004s

Anyone have a link to Workbook precalculation service for 2004s download. I found a link in SAP Marketplace for BW 3.5 but not for BI. Is there a separate download for BI or can I use the one for BW 3.5?

Hello Manoj,
Thanks for pointing to the correct version of Services.
I tried with the latest version of Services but nothing changed except the error message.
The error message while running from IB I get the error message, Precalculation failed: E  The process cannot access the file "C:\WINDOWS\TEM
Cannot precalculate workbook ZNW20004S_PRECALC
and
While running the same from IBTCODE 'RSPRECADMIN' , I receive the document but its an empty document.
Any clue, whats wrong ?

Ajay

  • Install Workbook Precalculation Service

    Hello,
I am trying to install the workbook precalculation service locally on my PC, but did not succeed up to now.
I have installed the following on my PC:
    - Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
    - SAP Gui 6.40 (with extra patches)
    - BW Workbook Precalculation Service (downloaded via the SAP Marketplace)
    Allready installed:
    - Windows XP
    - Microsoft Excel 2000
After these installations I created a 'precalculation server' via transaction rsprecadmin.
Then I tried to start the service, but it was only started and then immediately stopped afterwards.
So although all installations seem to be done successfully, I did not succeed in starting this feature.
Could anyone give me any idea what I might do to get it right?
    regards,
    Jan

    Hi Jan,
Sorry to not have been of help so far. If I understand correctly, the actual service on your PC is the source of the issue(?) If that's the case, and if the service dies soon after you start it, you may need to check that the UserID is OK to start services. Otherwise, you may just need to reinstall the program.
If the error is on the SAP side, you may want to confirm the SM59 connection - PREC_TH_PRECALC I think - to test communications.
Otherwise, this sounds like an issue for SAP Support!
Hope this is the fix for you.
    Cheers,
    Tim

  • BW7.0 workbooks precalculation without Portal installation

    Hi all,
I am using BW7.0 without Portal installation.
As far as I know broadcasting cannot be used without portal installation for bw7.0 workbook.(If I am wrong, please correct me)
Can anyone help to suggest how can I realize BW 7.0 workbook precalculation without portal.
    Many thanks!
    Best Regards,

    HI Maggie
    There are two ways
1.distributing workbook via email (I think you are looking for this option)
    2. to portal
You need precalucation server set up for the same .But  i'm not sure whether we need portal for the same ,There is very good Howto on the same. Request you to go through it.
These are some OSS checklist from the same PDF

  • BW Workbook Precalculation with Multiple BW Servers

    Greetings,
We have recently set up a Windows 2003 server with the BW Precalculation service.  We have successfully configured the precalculation service to attach to our BW Production server and it is functioning properly.  We have workbooks that are precalculated and emailed each day.
As we develop new precalculation scenarios we would like to develop and test these in our BW Development system.  However, I cannot get the existing Precalculation service to connect to both our BW Development server and our BW Production server.  It will either attach to our BW Production server or our BW Development server but not both.
    I've tried various combinations including...
deleting all BW calculation services from SPRO in both BW systems.
logging onto the server where the BW precalc service is running.
    stopping the BW precalculation service
from the server, creating the SPRO configuration in both bw servers.
    restarting the precalc service.
the precalc service will then attach to one of the bw servers but not both.
Does anyone know if it's possible to have a single precalculation service handle requests from multiple BW systems?  If so, could you please help me with the configuration steps?
    Thanks in advance,
    David Eady
    Reporting Team Lead
    SI Corporation

Thanks for the quick reply!  I upgraded the BW precalc service to SP12 but still cannot attach the service to multiple BW instances.  It will attach to one or the other but not both.    Do you have any suggestions regarding the setup/configuration steps?
    Thanks,
    David.

  • Precalculation service - backward compatible?

Is the precalculation service backward compatible? E.g. Can I use precalc 7.10 latest patch with BW 3.5 or BW 7.0 system?
I would appreciate it if you could point to SAP literature that confirms / denies this.

This is the latest status for precalculation services as of today.
From a Windows server perspective, Precalculation 7.10 patch 801 works on Windows 2003 32 bit OS only. It is also supported on XP etc.
If you are on BW 3.5 , you must use precalculation 6.40
If you are on BW 7.0, you must use precalculation 7.10 patch 801 ( or higher if available ).
System Version     Object version used on the systems (ex. Queries, workbooks...)      Precal Version
    SAPKW350##     3.5     Precalc Server 350
SAPKW700##     3.5     Precalc Server 7.10 patch 801      * in that case, you should install the KW addon 3.x for SAPGUI 7.10
    SAPKW700##     7.0     Precalc Server 7.10 patch 801

  • Issue in creating web service for a ABAP Function Module

    Hi,
now i'm learning how to create web service for a ABAP Function Module. I used the following steps.
    1. select the Function Module, named "zws_test".
    2. in the context menu, select "create->proxy object". so we enter into wizard.
    3. in the wizard, press the radio button "Service Provider".
    4. in the next page, press the radio button "Existing ABAP Objects(Inside Out)".
    5. In the next page, Enter the "zws_test_prvider" as Service Definition and select "Function Module" as Endpoint Type.
    6. in the next page, enter "zws_test" as Function Module and mark the "Mapping der Namen" button
    7. in the next page, select "PRF_DT_IF_SEC_LOW" as Profile and mark "Deploy Service".
    8. Save in the local package.
    9. then it will pop up a window with title "WSDL Source". i selected "URL/HTTP Destination" and press "OK".
10.in the next page, i enter the URL as "http://hostname:portnumber/", and press "OK".
    11. then it will pop up a window with title "Display logs". A record with error message "HTTP error(return code 404, message "Not found")" appears.
    12. i press "ok" and a service provider with name "zws_test_prvider" appears in my local package.
    13. i use "zws_test_prvider"'s URL to create a service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER" and logic portal "LP1".
    14. But when i test my service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER", it will throw an exception "cx_ai_system_fault" with errortext "SOAP:14 Unexpected element -el=definitions ns=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/".
    15. I use t-code SM59 to test connection  and get the following info.
          Status HTTP Response     200
          Status Text                      OK
          Duration Test Call             328 ms.
who can give me the reasons about item 11 and 14, and explain me how to create service provider and service consumer for a Function Module.
    Thanks in advance

  • Port number of Precalculation Service

    Dear SAP Expert
For any security reason, I will implement a firewall program.
I have a plan to close all the ports and will make some exception of the application which we use.
One of the exeception is Precalculation service.
So, Can you tell me what is port type (TCP or UDP or ... ) and its number ?
    Many thanks for your Info
    regards
    udinpetot

    Hi,
Precalculation uses the port for RFC communication. It is port number '33xy' where 'xy' is the instance number of the connected backend system.
    I hope this helps.

    Michael

  • Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server

Hate to raise a sleeping horse but was hoping someone might have some insight into why SCOM Report Server install is failing. I am using a domain account for SCOM 2012 R2 services in a distributive environment
with 2 management servers and 2 SQL servers…one for Ops db and one for DW db.
Install was failing on selecting the management server. Research led me to
Kevin Holman's site. I followed his doc and SPN are set per your config and can telnet to MGMT1 on 5723…firewall is off on all servers. I am a domain admin and scom.mgmt account (MSOMSdkSvc) is a local admin on the MGMT servers.

Well, I’m back to trying to get SCOM Report Server up and running. This time I decided to try the command line silent install and rely on logs to debug. But it still fails.
    This is the script: SETUP /install /InstallPath:D:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager /components:OMReporting /ManagementServer:<server>.<domain> /SRSInstance:<instance> /DataReaderUser:<domain>\<account>
    /DataReaderPassword:******** /SendODRReports:0 /UseMicrosoftUpdate:0 /AcceptEndUserLicenseAgreement:1
When I run the script, I get a pop-up: “System CenterOperations Manager Setup has stopped working with the following:

  • BI Precalculation Server for BI 7.0 (SAP GUI 710)? Not Available?

We recently upgraded from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 SP 15.  To support other SAP company initiatives, we also upgraded all SAP GUIs to 710.
Is there no updated BI Precalculation Server for BI 7.0 with SAP GUI 710?  Can we use older precalculation software with BI 7.0?  Or do we have to wait until SAP publishes the precalc server for GUI 710 (as indicated by note # 1013205)?  Anyone know when that might be?

I created opened a message with SAP and here is the response I got back:
    Dear Customer,
Currently SAP GUI 7.10 is not supported with Precalulation service.
As per Note: 1013205 Pre-Requisite for BI Precalculation service 710

First i thank q for ur reply to my question. But is it correct that we should assign Variables only in the Workbook Precalculation tab? Some one are suggesting like variables can be given both in foreground calculation i.e., while creating a workbook and also we should give the same variables in the workbook  precalculation tab.But in one document, i found there is no variable assignment tab in the Broadcasting settings. It means they might have given variables in the workbook creation itself.
          Please,reply me.It's very urgent.
    Thanks,

Is there's a missing configuration, plugin, or data in my SAP system/workstation?
I tried to login to other PC and it worked.
Just wondering what is missing on my computer.
    Your response will be helpful.

    Hey,
I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.
    Have you found any solution?
    Bah, this is annoying.

  • IDOC-Xi-IDOC: CRM - XI -R/3 (No service for system SAPOCC, client ** in ID)

    Hi all
I am doing a scenario IDOC - Xi - IDOC where CRM sends an IDOC to R/3 via PI.
I have configured everything in OCC (CRM system), PI and BSC (R/3 system) but when I test it with the transaction WE19 in OCC nothing happens in PI or BSC.
All i can see if a message in SM58 transaction in OCC.
    Function Module - IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS
    Target System - XI.
Status Text - No service for system SAPOCC, client *** in Integration Directory.
Could anyone tell me what is the problem.
Your help will be very much appreciated
    Regards
    Naina

Error message: No service for system SAPCRD client 201 in the integration directory
Cause: There is no service without party in PI server that represents OCC server with client details.
    Solution:
We send IDocs from system OCC to PI. In the control record (Segment EDIDC40) of the IDoc, the SNDPOR (SenderPort) field contains the value "SAPCRD". The client of the sending system is determined by the MANDT field of the control record. The system ID and client are then used to determine a service without party of the type (business-system/business-service)
In System Landscape Directory (SLD) create a technical system for OCC system and assign a client for the same. Don't forget to assign an "ALE logical system" to the technical system created. Create a business system for this technical system. Then Business System can be imported under service without party/update the details existing in PI.
