Workbooks only able to 'save as' while system is not open

Hi Gurus,
My client has been working with it's BW system fully opened for the last three years.
Users could then access a workbook through BEx Analyzer (wether it was in the role or favorites area) make any neccessary changes and then save it.
Now that we have closed the system through SCC4 users claim that they are forced to 'save as' every time they make changes to any workbook. They simple 'save' option is now disabled (again, it doesn't matter if the workbook is in the role, or favorites area).
I've looked through other posts but they don't state clearly wether they 'save' or 'save as'.
I have checked that a SAP_ALL configured user is also unable to modify the workbooks and 'save' them, so I guess it's not a matter of authorization.
Is it really the way BEx Analyzer works?
Is it possible to regain the ability of simple 'saving' the workbooks without having to 'save as'.

I can confirm those activities are checked and active.
SAP Note - 1129764 --> Users can actually see their original workbooks and the ones that have been 'saved as', they just want to be able to modify and just 'save' the original ones.
SAP Note - 1052085 --> This doesn't fit either, users have 'save' button disabled and can only click on save us. Besides we are already running on SP.14
Last note says: "Workbooks are not saved in BW systems that are not changeable.".
This is a statement that bothers me, indeed my client is set closed.
And SCC4 shows these paramenters:
Changes and Transports for client-specific Objects
   --> No changes allowed
Cross-Client Object Changes
   --> No changes to repository and cross-client customizing objs
Protection: Client copier and comparison Tool
   --> X Protection level 1: No overwriting
CATT and eCATT Restrictions
   --> eCATT and CATT not allowed
Restrictions:
(both unchecked).
Are you certain that it is possible to save them while the client is not opened? I'm starting to think that it just can't be done

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't have to process the php, it just has to show the HTML content. It did that just fine before the last upgrade but won't now.

It doesn't help. The things it says to look for aren't there for me, specifically:
browser.download.pluginOverrideTypes
plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types
I followed the rest of the instructions but it didn't help.
I did get it to quit opening tabs, instead it prompts me what it should do with the file every time now. What it should do, and used to do, is open the php page and display the HTML content.
Any other ideas?

How did the photos get onto the phone ? Only photos taken with the phone or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the device. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.

Actually it is easier than I thought. It is H264 but the wrapper is m4v. You can just change that in the finder to .mov and drop it into iDVD. iMovie will send it to iTunes so just right click on it in iTunes and select reveal in finder and then copy/paste to desktop and change to .mov. Then drag into iDVD. Really easy.

You do not need to "sign up" for downloading updates. Just run Software Update and let it access them directly thru the App Store.

First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

Print only allows to save as All Files* - will not print .pdf

Had Reader 9, now 10. Received document, saved as .pdf. Attempted to print this .pdf, but when click Print, document needed to be saved again, but was only giving me format as All Files* to save in. Still did not print. Have checked all Printer settings -still won't print. Conflict in 9 and 10? Do I need to somehow reinstall 9 - as that was working?

but why would the advanced tab change as I never had changed that feature in other .pdf s . Is it default with 10?
Usually the printer shows - Print to file, and allows me to change the format, whether as a .docx, .jpeg or .pdf, but that option wasn't available.
Technology is changing too fast for me to catch up and master!!!!

Add table entry while client is not open

we only have access to SE16, no sm30 maintain table entry authorization, but this can be bypassed by <removed by moderator>.
thus we can modify existing table entry.
but I can't use this method to add additional table entry, any one know how to add entry using se16 debugging?

Mail, Skype, Safari and some system preferences not opening

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem....my mac starts up but seems to skip loading things at the loading screen when it boots - When it gets to the desktop, Skype, mail (mac default program), and Safari do not open when clicked - I tried to go to user accounts in system preferences and that fails to open also - AIM, Fireofx and Transmit (FTP program) all work fine and are able to connect to the interent - It has done this before (months ago) and I ended up having to do a system restore to go back to factory settings - Yesterday it started this again and after 1/2 hour mail just popped open and all was well - It has been on for 4 hours so far and none of those programs are working - Has anyone else had issues like this ? any suggestions? I am using a Power Mac G5 cpu 1.8ghz and 1.25 gb of ram and 10.3.9 for system version - Any help is greatly appreciated

Have you done the basics? Repaired permissions, cleared caches, run cron jobs, booted from DVD and run disk repair etc.?
It seems that when you did a restore, which I presume is an archive and install, it cleared up then over time whatever you do is corrupting things or the drive is on its last legs. Add a new drive (cheap) , clone the boot drive to it with Super Duper (free) and boot from that for a while.

Staying connected to AIM while app is NOT open. Possible?

So I just got my iPhone today after having the touch for awhile. My only complaint with AIM on the two systems is that the application logs you off your screen name the moment you hit the home key and open up safari, or any other application for that matter. Is there any program, or service (preferably free but I would be willing to pay for this feature) that will keep me connected to my AIM (msn wouldnt hurt too but not priority) while I do not have the application open at that time?

Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to run in the background.
Apple is working on a Push server for developers to access for such apps. When leaving such an app, the app won't be actively running in the background, but notification will be possible with a badge on the app's icon when receiving an IM with the AIM app and for others like it.
Apple's Push server for access by the developers of such apps was originally scheduled to be available by the end of September but has been delayed. After the problems with the MobileMe launch, the delay is probably due to being sure the launch of this Push server is much smoother.

Logical system name in SLD for the R3 buss. system is not open for input.??

We are upgrading to PI 7.1 and have a problem in a scenarie where PI is sending IDOC to R3.
The problem is probably related to the fact that it is not possible to write a logical system name in SLD for the R3 system. I can not read the logical system name for the R3 system into the Directory (adapter specific identifier), *because the logical system for the R3 bussines system is not an input file??*. How can i enter the logcal system name so i avoid following error:

There are two ways....
Option 1 : Go to the BS of ur R3 system in Integration Direction. Go to edit mode mode and select Properties -> Adapter Specific attributes - > enter the LS name and save...
Option2 : You can use it from the mapping.... U either hard code/use from source the EDIDC40 section of ur mapping and the in ur IDOC receiver config select the option user
Option ! is the best soln...All the IDOC to that R3 system will go the specified LS...

System Prefs not opening

I am having an issue where the system preferences box is not opening, so I have to force quit it and then reopen. It is not responding half the time. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try deleting this file.
com.apple.preferencespanes.cache
It's here...
/Users/YourName/Library/Caches
Drag that file from the Caches folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
Try opening System Preferences now.
If that doesn't work, go to /Users/YourName/LIbrary/Caches. Where you see:
com.apple.systempreferences, click the discovery triangle so it faces down.
You will see: Cache.db Drag that file to the Trash, empty the Trash.

How can I run Photoshop Elements4 with Windows7. The operating system will not open and run it.

My New computer has windows 7 installed, and it will not open and run my photoshop elements 4 programme. Do I need an upgrade, or can it be run in any other format on this computer.

Did it install and you're just getting errors trying to run it? If so, try clicking on your Start button. Then, go to All Programs, find the entry for Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 and "right click" on it. Select Properties, and in the Properties dialogue click the Compatibility Tab and try running it in XP Compatibility mode and see if it works that way.
If not, then it is really not compatible. Just buy the latest (Photoshop Elelments 9) while they offer $40 mail-in rebate (Ends January 5, 2011)
