Workcentre Capacity

Hi Experts,
We want to maintain the capacity of work centre can you please answer the following :
1.We have created workcenter such as AUTO at second level & AUTO-WELD,AUTO-FITT on third level in Hierarchy.
Could you tell me how I have to maintain the capacity, should i maintain on third level or second level basically what is the process of maintaining capacity to work centre.
2.If i maintain capacity only on third level could i see the total capacity on second level of hierarchy summation of welder & fitter workcentre .
3.IF I Have one engineer common for 4 welder & 4 fitter under the AUTO-WELD & AUTO-FITT workcenter, what could be the indual capacity 5 or 4 for one workcentre. Here ,should i consider engineer also for both the workcenter or should i skip this engineer for both workcentre.

    Hi Rakesh,
Please check the factory calendar in SCAL which is used in workcenter capacity. In shift intervals (workcentr-capacity--interval and shifts)please reduce the validity period to say 2010 and also maintain factory calendar to 2010.

    HI PM GURUS,
    1. How do we proceed for warranty claim processing?Any useful doc would help me.
    2. do we have inventory management for PRT'S ? plz send some document on this
3.What are the settings we have to do in order release or save  for capacity avialability check of workcentre, money avialability in the cost centre which we have entered?
4.Is PRT check possible before order release or save how is the setting done in orders?
    thanks&regards
    pushpa

    hi pushpa,
1.in enterprise structure first you have to create MPP in definition and you have to assin to MP
for example you have two plants 1000 and 1001 if you are planning in one plat say in 1000 only ,then you have to create both the plants in MPP (definition)and assign 1000 for both the plants
2.you can use multiple counter plan for configuring the problem you specified, for this you have to create a cycle cet first.
3.Estimated cost is used for general planning only suppose you does not know how much will be the cost involved ,so you plan the estimated cost in the early stage.but you can only specify the est.cost until the release of order only
-The workcentre specifying in the operation tab is the performing work center, that is the group of people who actually do the work, whereas the main workcenter you specify in the order header is a group of people or department head who plan who should do the work.
4.work center capacity is defined by the system itself, base on the input you have provided in the workcentre capacity
    i hope i have cleared

  • Workcentre change in capacity levelling

    Hi Guys,
In capacity levelling of planned orders i want to move planned orders from one workcentre to another workcentre , could any one explain me how to do this.
    Thanks and regards
    Thamizhchelvan G

    Dear,
    Yes you can dispatch planned orders in CM21, CM22, CM25, CM27, CM28
Usually the following std profiles are used.
SAPSFCG021 SFC: Standard overview in order view
SAPSFCG022 SFC: Standard overview in indiv.cap.view
Just need to select  the order then click on Dispatch(press F5)
    Or,
    1. CM 25
    2. Select multiple operations ( Edit> Select> objects that belong together
    3. Press Shift button and simultaneously press mouse left/right button then drag and drop .
Please refer this link for capacity levelling,

  • Capacity Planning for workcentre  employees

I need to do the planning for my capacities on SAP MRS board but before that I need to understand the capacity planning like Capacitive planning, abstract planning etc. or in other words like if someone can explain the step by step how to do the capacity planning, explaining all this will be a great help.

    Gary,
    Available Capacity:
Capacities is driven from the work centre settings in the Capacities tab (specifically the button at the bottom of this tab). These values determine the length of the working day, breaks, number of workers and efficiency - resulting in the daily amount of hours available at the work centre.
    Capacity Usage:
Order operations are then created and loaded with work centre and hours, and dependent upon the operation control key settings, will then start to "consume" some of the above daily capacity.
Here is a comprehensive PDF document on the subject
    Hope this helps..

  • Machine capacity planning and efficency

    Dear Guru,
I have number of machines and i want there individual capacity and efficency can we see that by any report or any tcode to see all capacity of machine. What is capacity leveling.
Is thee any configuration for capacity planning.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, the following configuration steps involved in the capacity planning: SPRO --> IMG --> PRODUCTION --> CAPACITY REQUIREMENT PLANNING Capacity Requirements Planning: 1) Define time units 2) Define Capacity Category 3) Set up Capacity Planner. 4) Define parameters 5) Define Standard value key. 6) Define Move time matrix. 7) Define Setup matrix. 8) Define Control Key. 9) Define Shift Sequence. 10) Define Key for performance efficiency rate. 11) Define Formula parameters. 12) Specify Scheduling type. 13) Set up Production scheduler group 14) Select Automatically. 15) Define Scheduling parameters for Production orders 16) Define Scheduling parameters for networks. 17) Define Reduction Strategies planned/ production orders. 18) Define Reduction Strategies for network/process orders. 19) Define Control Profile. 20) Define Selection profile. 21) Define time profile. 22) Define Evaluation profile. 23) Define Strategy Profile. You can follow these above configuration steps in capacity planning Yes you need to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view. Use all standard SAP configurations, Capacity Leveling Profile. Define time profile in OPD2. Define the strategy profile in OPDB Define the Overall profiles in OPD0. Then only you need to to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view in work center.(CR02) Then run MRP with scheduling- 2 Lead time scheduling and capacity planning.(MD02) You will get your capacity requirement in CM01, or CM25/CM21. In rem you can use MF50. -

  • Regarding workcenter capacity and scheduling

    Hi Experts,
I have created a workcentre and maintained all formula's for each activity in the workcentre. Now what I want is that, while confirming the activity , If workcentre gets overloaded beyond tolerance limit then it must issue a warning message and wont allow us to confirm that much activity.
    Case 2:
If capacity is overloaded then the timeframe also should mave accordingly as automatic scheduling.
your valuable suggestion would be highly appreciated
    Regards
    Ashutosh Saraf

    Hi,
Work center capacity and activity confirmation both are different entities and this is what I guess. Please correct me if wrong.
Let me put it this way...
Work force is assigned at work center level which let you know the total capacity being maintained at referenced work center. If some one asked me about what is the capacity of work center A, then my reply is 64 hours/day (10 persons with 8 hrs each and performace 80%). Thats how we derive the capacity of WC.
Now coming to Activity confirmation: for example you have planned hours of 100 on NWA and keep confirming periodically. When you cross the limit of planned 100 hours system gives a warning that activity is already confirmed (I mean reached 100% of planned work) but still allow you confirm beyond planned hours.
In combined view of WC and NWA, system never gives any kind of warning message even if you going beyond the planned hours on NWA.
As Mahendra pointed out, capacity evaluation and levelling being done manually and there is no automated process available unless you have developed program which takes care off.
Case2: Capacitiy overloaded or underloaded, capacity levelling to be performed basing on available capacity at work center level by manually.
The time frame adjustment (I assume you are talking about automatic scheduling), if activity confirmation is less than the planned distributed value, whenever system schedules automatically and let you know ETC (Expected time of completion). for that you have to select the automatic scheduling check box at NWA.

  • Workforce planning- issue with available capacity

    Hi All,
I have an issue in workforce planning. I have created a workcentre and have entered the required details in capacity tab to arrive at available capacity. The available capacity for this workcentre is visible in transaction CM01.
I have done the workforce palnning using worcentre view in transaction CMP3, but for some reason I am unable to see the workcentre avaliabile capacity. I only see the distributed total requirements.
Would appreciate any pointers on this.
    Regards
    Pradeesh

Regarding the availablity of CMP3, it refers the availability of  assigned persons rather than the work centers.
Please check the involved person with transaction PA30 using infotype 007
(see details in consultant note 543362).
    Kind regards,

  • Capacity leveling, after Deallocate scheduling dates getting changed.

    Dear Experts,
I have a issue in Capacity leveling using transaction CM25 - Online. I have created some production orders (using forwards/backwards scheduling) for overloading of WorkCentre's. When I dispatch orders it’s getting scheduled perfectly, but when I Deallocate same orders scheduled dates are getting  changed.
Even after deallocation production orders schedule dates should be the same. Can you please help me in this regard?
    Thanks in advance.
    Prashanth

    Hello Prashanth,
From SAP help Date Determination in Dispatching and Rescheduling - Capacity Leveling (PP-CRP-LVL) - SAP Library
The current dispatching data is cancelled. The status "dispatched" of the operation is reversed. The order is rescheduled.
If further operations exist for an order which has already been dispatched, the system automatically carries out midpoint scheduling. If no other dispatched operations exist, the system carries out lead time scheduling.
If order date is in past then it schedules to current date during de allocation if you do not have enter number of past days allowed to start date in scheduling parameters.

  • Activating capacity display in Planning table of MF50.

    Hi Experts,
I intend to use the MF50 for Planning my FG. My scenario is a normal PP PI and not REM. I am using production version to distinguish the work centre (defined as production place). I want to display the Capacity of the Workcentre on the MF50 screen along with the Planning table. I am able to see the Prod Versions, planned ordes / requirements on the screen. My only concern is I want to display the capacity on the same screen, I found that the Activate graphic and set graphic settings in the Capacity reqt planning have got greyed out.
I request the experts to guide me in this case.
    Regards,
    A S K

    Hi
    Check the following settings :
    1. In  production Version whether work center is maintained as production line or not ? .Also make sure that  same work center ins maintained in  Routing or not .
    2. In MF50 Initial selection screen Scheduling TAB check whether  'capacity requirement ' along with detailed planning  is activated or not.It must be activated.

  • CM27-CAPACITY PLANNING

Im working on a REM environment.
I have a problem in the Capacity Planning
1.Im  using the CM21 for sequencing my planned orders.
2.I have created some individual capacity for one workcentre.
3.When itry to use the CM27 i dont find any planned orders in this levelling capacity planning table.
    Your valuable inputs are required

    Hi Sateesh,
I am unable to understand the reason why capacity planning is being used if REM is being used?
The transactions what you have mentioned is for Production order/Related planned orders.
To my knowledge for REM "MF50" will be used to analyse the load and also assign load to production line. "LAS2" is used for sequencing change.
    Hope this helps..

  • Available Capacity in LTP

    Hi,
During creation of a planning scenario during LTP, we have a facility of assigning the Available capacity versions.  Imagine, that a few versions have been defined with '01' as the active version and some Simulative what if scenrio versions.  This active version has been maintained in the relevant WC/Resource.
Now during the creation, I would like to assing one of the what if scenario available capacity version. But I am really not sure how the system is supposed to behave since this version is not attached to any capacities in the work centres.
Now in case i would need to analyse the what if scenario capacities, what is it that needs to be done.
I have tried digging in some of the SAP material but came up with nothing.
Any pointers on how to use the Available capacity versions  and what settings needs to be done will be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Kiki

    1. SAP has given this facitliy so that we can do a simulation based on different capacities.
    2. For this first you have to maintain different version of capcity in the workcentre level
    3. in the workcentre in the capacity tab you can see version , so can create different version of capacity here .
    4. Later when you create a planning scenario then you can plan with different version and do simulation.
kindly let me know if this resolves, else will explain in detail.

  • Rough -cut plan with capacity requirment calculation

    Hi all,
We checking SOP with rough-cut plan
We created Rough-cut profile in mc35 for our bottle neck work center with base quantity -1 and time span - 1
then we selected new work center (there is no existing cap req). and assigned base unit measure:min.
and we assigned 1min for each day and saved the profile.
Now we went to mc88 and checked the material's active version production plan. (period split- DAY)
in View -> capacity situation -> rough cut planning -> show.
System calculates some capacity requirement for our production plan.
Say for tomorrow's date i given 1000 qty - production plan.
    but system showing capacity req
    Work center:  TESTWC3                  Plant: 0001         Capacity:  001
Info structur  Material          Plant   Order qty     Unit     From              To          Capacity reqmts      Unit
    S076            TESTFERT14    0001  1000.000       EA    29.01.2010  11.02.2010   9000.000              MIN
with 9000min and cap load more than 652% ( Actuallly  it has to show 1000min as per rough cut plan profile)
Our available capacity of work center per day - 1380 min
We cant understand the capacity requirement calculation in MC88..
    Help us out...
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Rough cut planning is genrally done for the group of material say product group, group of workcentre rather than individual material or workcentre.
As standard, in resource table whatever the value you enter that corresponds to no. of days. Each column represents one day.
Pl. refer this link for clear understanding of the same.
