Worked yesterday, won't come up today; comcast problem?

I hope someone can help. My internet provider (insight) has just been bought by COMCAST. The switchover was a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't experienced any problems iChatting until this morning.
This morning I woke up to find no internet connection; just getting a "Welcome to Comcast" screen. After numerous calls to different comcast techies, where they "removed the 'codes' on my account that came with my insight account" (I think these were static IP addresses, actually), little by little, I was able to see different parts of the internet.
The last fix made my gmail inbox visible; before that, it had been "blocked," they told me.
Now everything is fixed except my iChat - I pull up the application and after a while it times out;
"The connection could not be completed because it timed out. Try again."
I have set the bandwidth to 200kbps, and reset and tried again, but I don't think we even reach this; my buddy list just says "disconnected." Tried on my husband's computer; same thing.
I have been ichatting with mom and sister who both use comcast in the Chicago area for at least a year; until this morning.
Now comcast tells me different stories; 1) Comcast is not compatible with iChat (obviously not true), 2) I need to reconfigure my iChat (?), 3) I need to call Apple for help.
I hope someone can help. I use iChat all the time. Until today.

well, looks like it's working again. Comcast insisted that I tell Apple because it's "obviously their problem" so I asked, "can you tell me what to tell them when I say, 'My computer works on internets everywhere except on Comcast' and 'it worked until this morning when I got the "welcome to Comcast" screen'?" and they said, "It is obviously apple's problem.
A couple of hours later the problem was gone. I just wish someone would tell me what went wrong (or apologize). At least I can ichat now, and I didn't have to change anything!

So basically nothing is on this computer right now.

    Let them know how this is inconveniencing you.  For a replacement, I believe Apples general rule of thumb is if it comes in for the 3rd time for the same issue they will replace it, but it may vary by store.  It cant hurt to ask for a replacement.

    If your iPhone is not powering on, then check out the article below to see if you can get it to power back on. You will want to start at step 3 to try and reset it by holding the Sleep/Wake button and Home button for about 10 seconds and see if the Apple Logo comes up.

    If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
    Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
    If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.

    I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
    The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
    Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
    In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
    The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
    BEFORE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
    AFTER:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
    Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.

  • When I try to use Firefox Browser on my Samsung Note 3, the screen comes up white after the orange bar runs across the top. It worked yesterday.

    March, 9th, 2015 -- My Samsung Note 3 is on AT&T wireless, but I Have Xfinity wi-fi at home. Firefox browser worked yesterday & last night. Today when I search it comes up with a blank white screen after the orange bar runs across the top & never loads anything (words or pictures). When I open the tabs in the side bar, it shows the pictures for them, but still only loads a white page after clicking actual link. It will not sync the last few saved bookmarks with my computer. I made sure that I have the latest android version installed, but It still does this even after uninstalling & re-installing & restarting the phone. AT&T had an update a couple of days ago & I've already talked with their tech support with no resolution. I don't know if there is conflict with AT&T's update & current Android Firefox browser. Please Fix, thank you.

    So it sounds as if your iPad is not responding at all when you try to turn it on, is that correct? If so, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

    I just had the same problem. Took the first unit back and the problem is still occuring on the second one. I solved it by setting up again with the USB, but it keeps dropping out every few days.

    If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

    I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
    Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
    I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.
