WorkFlow Administrator access
Hi
I have a HR Leave approval workflow which has a background task that attempts to make a change to the absences infotype within the leave requestor's personnel record.
If the personnel record is locked at the point of attempting the update it fails and sends the work item to an administrator (not Workflow admin) to carry out the update manually.
Unforutnately the adminstrator's access is restricted and is subsequently unable to update the work item so the work item ends up in error in the administrators's inbox.
What is the best practice for this scenario, should the work item be sent to the Workflow administrator (assigned in trans SWDC)? Will this get round the access issue or will the Workflow administrator have same access problems when trying to manually deal with the work item?
Regards
Daniel

We have two users that have been using Creative Cloud for almost a year. Recently, sometime in the last 4ish weeks, the users can no longer run Creative Cloud apps. (Yes, our subscription is paid.) Error simply says administrator access is required to install. The apps have already been installed. The users cannot run them unless they are in the local admin group.Using "Run as admin" does not work. It gives the same error.
I have opened a case with adobe support and was basically told to suck it up and put the users in the admin group. Actually, what was said was that it is "mandated that the users have administrative rights".
There are a couple of things wrong with this. It was working for both users until recently - a recent required creative cloud update. The users have never been local admins yet the apps were working (poorly, but working).
We are in an enterprise environment and users simply do not have administrative rights on the computers.
I have changed permissions on all adobe folders, granting users or authenticated users modify or full control rights, did the same in whatever Adobe registry HKLM keys I could find. Nothing has allowed the users to run the apps - unless they are put in the local admin group.
Someone has to have a fix for this. Adobe apps have proved to have far too many vunerabilities to even entertain the idea of elevating user rights. I can't imagine that enterprise environments are allowing this.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.Jeff,
Thank you for your response. The users in question are "standard" domain users. We do not reduce users permissions below the standard level.
The apps do not load with their current standard user permissions.
The thing that makes this odd, is that up until recently they did this issue with cloud apps. The only way I can make it work for them now is to put them in the local administrator group on their pc's - which is not going to happen.
This is what they now see. As I said before, this was not a problem up until recently they would see all their available apps. If I put them in the local admin group the apps are listed without having to install. Everything is there, just not accessible to the user. -
Looking for some best practice regarding Content Administrator access
Hi. I am looking for some best practice or rule of thumb from SAP or from different companies how they address Portal Content Administrator access in Production environment. Basically, our company is implementing portal to work with SAP BW. We are on SP 9. Basically, I am trying to determine if we should have 1-2 Portal Content Administrator in Production with 24/7 access or we should limit them from NOT having this. Can you share with me some ideas of what is right? and what is not?
Should we have access in Production? Or Should we have this access but limited? By the way, our users are allow to Publish BI reports/queries into Production.Hello Michael,
Refer to this guide about managing initial content in portal.

How to determine the agent of workflow administrator
In the workflow, when there is any exception raised, we need to send notification to workflow administrator. My question, how to determine the agent of workflow administrator.
Hi jrockman li,
No it is not like that, i mean that administrator for workflow will a single person so you can simply give his userid as the agent.
As you told "YES SAP HAVE WORKFLOW ADMINISTRATOR ROLES"
SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_ADMIN Administrator for Business Workflow
SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_GP_ADMIN Role for Guided Procedure Business Workflow Administrators
SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_UWL_ADMIN UWL: Administrator for Workflow Functionality
You can use this roles for the agent determination purpose for the workflow administrators.
Thanks and Regards

Run button not appearing in 11.5.10.2 workflow administrator
Hi,
I am learning Oracle workflow on E-business suite 11.5.10.2 and very new in this.I am selecting a workflow in developer studio(under workflow administrator responsibility) and it is appearing also. But now when I want to run the workflow I am not getting any icon/button to run it.Can you please tell me where am I going wrong?Hi,
Once you've logged in E-Business Suite, after navigating to Workflow Administrator Web (New) responsibility, are you saying that you don't see the "Run" icon which appears when you query an item type ?
If yes, check that the user / responsibility that you've logged in with is a Workflow System Administrator. You can check/set this by logging into E-Business Suite (Workflow Administrator Web (New) responsibility, Administration tab. Instead of a standalone user account, you have an option to define a responsibility as a workflow admin, in which case all users possessing that responsibility inherit admin privileges.

Severity: 3 Administrative access denied, and lost wireless connection
What does that mean? I am currently watching my Logs file update every other second with a new line that looks like someone is trying to access my Airport.
The date is wrong too, says Dec. 31 when it's May 31. Line is as follows:
Dec 31 19:03:15 Severity:3 Administrative access denied to fe80::21e:c2ff:fec0:4f0d%mirror0/49925.
The original reason why I was looking at the Log was because I got bounced off my Airport again. It happens now and then, when there are a bunch of wireless connections in the building, I can see them listed, but when it happens, my own Airport is missing from the list.
The other issue is that I am not interested in paying for someone else's internet access. I have it password protected, but the person I *think might be trying to hack it, is a computer genius/programmer who's built systems, so I'm a bit worried because I don't know anything about this stuff.
Is there any way I can make sure I'm not bounced off my connection again, and that noone else gets to use my connection?
Thanks! As long as you're passwords are strong, I wouldn't worry about it. There is always someone somewhere trying to gain access to a router, to get internet access or what have you.
More then likely if someone did try and access your routers, and got denied, they just moved on to the next router he could find and try to access that one.
Just make sure you're passwords are strong enough.
If you're concerned that your password isn't strong enough, or to common, check out this website.

Hope that helps,

Hi,
ebs 11.5.8
We successfully cloned from prod to dev. DEV been up for ~1 month.
We now have an issue with the Workflow.
I log in as sysadmin -> system administrator responsibility then workflow -> Global Preferences
In the html page that opens it says "Only the Workflow Administrators can edit Default settings."
I tried with Workflow Administrator -> Global Preferences but same results.
I check for profile (System Administrator -> Profile -> System : %workflow%) but found nothing that would indicate who is the admin of the workflow.
I think this is due to autoconfig, setting the default value for the workflow administrator.
How can I find who is the owner and change it?
Thank you~

Hello Experts,
Can any of you help me with a workflow administrator tcode that has the ability to find all the workitem using the user ID.
Im aware of the tcodes that can be used to find the workflow status with the task - dates etc... but im not able to find any which can be used to search workflow status with the user id.
Regards,
Regi.Hey Dilek,
Thanks for the quick reply buddy, This will not help me because this gives me the list of workitem i can see as an approver , what i need is workflow log as a requester.
If i use this and select the user id - this will show me the list of all the worklist for that user id as an approver and not as a requester, what i need is to trak the log as a requester using the logon id.
Thanks,

Workflow Administrator SAP user Role
I have a question from the customer regarding which SAP User Role should be assigned to and Workflow Administrator?
From my point of view, basically there are 2 questions here:
1. Is there any standard SAP user Role for this? (which one?)
2. If not, then a custom Role need to be configured (from PFCG t-code i think). Can anyone tell me to which workflow transactions should be ground authority for such a Role?Hi
These are the tcode for workflow developer. Use the SW* and pfac_dis,PFTC_DIS for wflow admin.

How can i add an administrator access so the admin can edit his webpage on the web browser?
How can i add an administrator access so the admin can edit his webpage on the web browser?
A content management system or CMS is software usually on the server that allows client's to log-in and edit content from any web browser with an internet connection. These web pages are typically built with server-side programming (PHP) and databases (MySql).
CMSs come big and small. The right one for your project depends on
a) your programming skills,
b) project requirements,
c) budget.

Log - Administrative access denied....
I'm seeing numerous "Administrative access denied to xxxx::xx:xx:xx....." statements in my log.
Do I have a problem?NO.
When you first try to access you Airport using the Airport utility. It will check for a password. It will deny access until the correct password is entered.
If you look at the line after "denied" in the log, you'll see access granted (after the password has been entered) to the machine you are accessing from. -
Error when i try to open the Oracle content server workflow administrator
i have installed the Oracle content server 10g r3 , but when i tried to open the workflow administrator tool i got the following error message during "loading cached tables" process, although i have made all the required steps in the installation manual ; the error is
"Unable to start the application work-flow. failed to initialize . the database table list was empty using a catalog of (null) and schema 'UCMADMIN'. you may need to configure the database schema explicitly using the configuration entry databaseschmemaname "
does anyone know what might be the problem ?
Thanks
Edited by: user11120147 on Jun 22, 2010 2:22 AMIt seems that I have specified to manually create the required tables and roles during the installation steps, so I manually run the required SQL scripts which include (creating tables, creating roles, creating users , etc..), and after have successfully login to the workflow administration tool .

Restrict Workflow Administrator responsibility for a business group
My requirement is to restrict the Workflow Administrator responsibility to a specific business group so that the administrator can view all notifications/transactions for a given business group only for ALL item types. I tried following the steps given in the document 'Oracle Self-Service Human Resources (SSHR) Release Notes, Release 12.1.1' metalink id 578360.1. However, it doesnt seem to be working. Any idea on how to do this configuration?
Thanks,
PallaviHi,
EBS version: 12.1.3, Database 11g
Below are the steps to reproduce the issue:
1) Create a security profile 'XXX-UK-WF' with following values:
Business Group: <UK business group name>
View Employees: Restricted
View Contingent Workers: Restricted
View Applicants: restricted
View Contacts: Restricted
View Candidates: All
Organization Security Tab--> Security Type: View All Organizations(No Security)
2) Set the HR: Security Profile option at the responsibility level for the Workflow Administrator Web(New) responsibility.
3) Log on to the Functional Developer responsibility and search for the predefined Workflow Item Attribute Values (WF_ITEM_ATTRIBUTE_VALUES) object.
4) Click the Update icon to navigate to the Update Object page.
5) Click Create Grant on the Grants tab.
On the Define Grant page, enter the following details:
In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the grant.
Specify the effective date for the grant as '01-Sep-2011'.
In the Grantee Type field, select 'Group of users' and select teh responsibility 'Workflow Administrator Web(New)' in the Grantee field.
6)In the Object field, select the delivered object Workflow Item Attribute Values
7)On the Grant: Select Object Data Context page, select the HR Self-Service Selected Person ID Instance Set (HRSS_WF_ATTR_PERSONID_INSTSET)
8) On the Grant: Define Object Parameters and Select Set page:
In the Set field, enter the delivered Business workflow item attribute permission set (WF_ADMIN_ITEM_ATTR_PSET).
Click Finish to complete the grant creation process.
9) Logout and login as a user having Workflow Administrator Web(New) responsibility. Navigate to Administer--> Status Monitor. Search for all the workflows started this week. All the transactions from all the business groups will be listed. ideally, only the transactions occuring in UK business groups should have been listed. -
ORA-12505, error when i tried to open the "Workflow Administrator" tool
i have installed Oracle content server 10g r3, but when i tried to open the "Workflow Administrator" tool i got the following error "ORA-12505, TNS: listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor", so how can i solve this issue?
//hint i am using Oracle database 10gIs the rest of your UCM install running OK?
This implies that the JDBC connection is failing.
Are you running Workflow Administrator from the Admin Applets in the browser OR as a standalone application from command line (*nix) or Start menu (windows)
I think that the application would normally look in config.cfg and use the JDBC connection string given in there - this would include the SID. Can you tnsping the SID?
