Workflow Agent listeners do not start

The case is reproducible on Windows 2003 and Windows XP box
Installation sequence:
1) RDBMS Server 10.2.0.1
2) Patchset 1 - 10.2.0.2
3) database created
4) Standalone Workflow 2.6.4 Server installed from 10g R2 Companion CD
5) Configuration with WF Conf.Assistant performed
6) WF Middle-tier installed in separate home
7) Middle-tier application is operational at http://hostname:7778/pls/wf/wfa_html.home
Workflow manager does not find any components under IE 6/7, but does in Firefox. None of the listeners is started.
When starting or stopping Any/All Agent listeners, a message (e.g. "Action Stop has been performed on Workflow Deferred Agent Listener.") is shown. After returning to components list, the listeners remain in "Starting" or "Stopping" status. Workflow operations are not working.
Re-applying 10.2.0.2 patchset or 10.2.0.3 Patchset to Oracle Home where RDBMS installed did not solve the problem. First applying 10.2.0.3 patchset after installation of database and WF servers and then configuration of WF server did not solve the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

the sql instance service is running with domain/sqlservice account ,
- i stopped the sql service service

Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent & ODBC Server not starting

Hello !
I currently have Coldfusion 9 Enterprise Edition 64 bit installed on a Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server. I did not notice this before but on this server, both the Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent & Server services will not start. I have tried starting them but they start for a second and then stop. A dialog box then gets displayed which says "The Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". I have checked the event viewer on the server and I am seeing the following messages on the enterprise edition server.
The description for Event ID 0 from source ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent@LOCALHOST,ErrorCode=430,ErrorMessage=Failed to open event trace file because the file version is not recognised.

The strange this is that I have Coldfusion 9 Standard Edition 64 bit also installed on another Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server and both of the ODBC services on that machine are starting fine. I have checked the account these services are running under on both servers and both services on both machines are running under the local system account so I am not sure if it is permission related or not.
I would appreciate it if some could assist me in getting these services started and what I need to do.

Has anyone bothered to file a bug report for this issue (I just searched the bug tracker and couldn't see one that applied to this issue)? I see this has bit several people already, but unless you file an official bug report, Adobe won't know. They don't monitor these forums with an eye to identifying bugs.

Oracle Agent Service Does not start

My agent service of oracle does not start. It stops immediately after starting.
could you also let me know the role played by agent and listenser service.
I am using windows 2003 server and version of oracle is 9i

The listener is a separate process that runs on the database server computer. It receives incoming client connection requests and manages the traffic of these requests to the database server.
The Intelligent Agents are responsible for the localized execution of tasks and the on-going monitoring of databases and other targets on the managed nodes.Intelligent Agents function independently of the databases and other targets they support.
agntsrvc.log shows any errors that occur during agent startup.

Workflow notification mailer is not getting started and its showing status starting.I have tried to bounce the service componets still its showing starting.My application version is 12.0.6 and OS is AIX.I got a metalink reference"Notification Mailer Does Not Start, Remains In Status Starting [ID 371830.1]".Since its a Productin instance can we try it??Please suggest.Couldnt understand what will be the impact of updating wf_event_subscriptions.Please suggest/help...

Transport agent service does not start. Cannot load project in dev station.

I am facing a strange problem in my Mobile QA development station. This machine is a development workstation for an ARS.
When i logged in today, i cannot load my project in the visual studio. It asks me for the user id and password and hangs. It doesnt ask me to select the changelist, but hangs.
Also, i noticed that the transport agent isnt working as well. the service just says "Starting" and does nothing for a ling time and fails when i manually start.
Until last time i loaded my project, everything was fine. I do ConnTrans everyday.

You'd first need to check if login from Upgrade Console to your ars_db is possible.
If you're facing issues logging into the ars_db, please stop the SAP MAR Central Service(which would be present most likely on your MAR machine), wait for about 20 seconds and then start the service again. Then try logging into MAS.
If MAS doesn't hang while loading your project and you're able to proceed to selecting the changelist, then you can fix your transport related issue as follows -
1. Stop the Transport service from the Service Console(services.msc).
2. Login to TransportInstaller.exe and uninstall the previous Transport Service.
3. Browse to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\MSA\Workbench\Server\TAgent in the registry and delete all the keys under the key 'TAgent'.
4. Install a new Transport Service using TransportInstaller.exe
5. Start the new Transport service from the Service Console.

11gR2 scan and scan listeners are not starting in Solaris non globa zones

my configuration is a 2 node RAC. each node is a solaris container/ zones on two phyiscally different machines.
(SunOS 5.10 Generic_147440-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise).
after installation of GI, root.sh was successful but failed when trying to start the following resources
ora.scan1.vip
ora.scan2.vip
ora.scan3.vip
the scans are not in the host file but on DNS, the GI home has been patched with January 2012 GI PSU.
Has any one successfully installed 11gR2 RAC on Solaris non global zones? if you have tell me how you got past the scan issue.

Pl post details of OS, EBS and database versions. Does bouncing all of the services help ? Any errors in the database alert log ? Is all other functionality available as normal ? Any changes made to the system recently ?

Configurations tools ( netca,dbca ,assistants) not started during install

I am trying to install Oracle 9iR2 on redhat advanced server.
We copied the files into a staging area.During
install it asked for Oracle.swd.jre file which i checked
not there.
But i ignored the error message and finished the
install.Installation went through successfully but the
configurations tools netca,dbca and agent assistants have
not started. Apache server has started sucessfully.
I have done installs earlier on Redhat 8 but i never
had problems like this.I checked the staging area and i could able to see a directory like oracle.swd.jre in
Disk1/stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre but not the file.
I will be glad if anyone can tell me the work around
for this.

Worfklow Task stuck on "Not Started"

I have a workflow with a "Start Approval Process" action. I have a couple of tasks on different list items, that are stuck on "Not Started" (and have been for a month) and therefore the workflow cannot progress.
Is there a way to push the task workflow to start? I am not able to manually start it from the task list. Also, I would in other situations just cancel the workflow and start again but I due to governance, I am unsure if I can do that in this
instance.

From your post, my understanding is that the status of the task created by the workflow is stuck in Not Started.
If I misunderstood, please feel free to correct me.
Per my test, the tasks created by the Start Approval Process action in the workflow are all showing Not Started as the beginning status.
If the assignee opens the task assigned to him/her, he can complete the task by approving or rejecting it.
And the workflow will pause at this step until all the tasks have been completed.

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Workflow Deferred Agent Listeners restarted , I checked the log file, it shows following error :
Can you tell me , what is this error ?I see an error before (... 26 more) but the lines after that are OK.
Does the error appear each time you restart the listener?
What log file you are referring to?
Does the "Workflow Deferred Agent Listeners" work properly after restarting it?

AP Invoice Approval workflow not starting

     I have a raised an AP invoice for approval. (APINV) But the approval status is still in “Initiated” status and we could see the Invoice records in “processed” status in AQ$wf_deferred table too. There is data in wf_deferred tables but no data in wf_items table.
     Also in the invoice approval history form, value for ACTION field against an approver is “FUTURE”. All the agent listeners are up and running. No duplicate event_subscriptions. I have used apache bounce and executed “workflow background process” too. Am I missing something?

Here we configuring the Workflow Notification Mailer Service in our R12 instance. When we trying to start services in the workflow service componenets every service was started except the below Workflow Document Web Services Service

We Followed the above mentioned docuement but its not fixed. And atlast we resolved and fixed issue by following steps.
1) Downed the Apps services.
2) Runned the cmclean.sql as a apps user.
3) Rebounce the DB.
4) Started the every services.
Select Name Status State Node Actual Processes Target Processes
1 Workflow Document Web Services Service UpActivated ERPTEST01 *1 1*
2 Workflow Agent Listener Service Up Activated ERPTEST01 1 1
3 Workflow Mailer Service Up Activated ERPTEST01 1 1
Now the Notification Mailer is Up and running with out any issues

Workflow question: workflow should not start

Hi,
I have a question about a workflow.
Function module YTE_CHECK_WF_START starts a workflow for the approval of travel expenses.
In table "yte_start_wf", we have defined a list of users for which the workflow should not start.
Nevertheless, the workflow starts for a user who appears on the list. He gets e-mails in his Inbox, which should not happen.
What can be the reason?
Does anyone have an idea?
