Workflow and Files Integration

Hello all,
I have sucessfully configured my files domain, run through the steps for integration with workflow and files. All seems to be ok except there are no review processes showing up within files.
I know in release 1 the demo workflows were loaded and tied into files.
Anyone know how to get these into the files screens so I can demo the workflow portion of files?
Thanks,
Dennis

Hello Archana !
         After user decision step, you have maintained the step that updates database as immediate step.
         Have you tested this step separately ? If it have yielded successful results, check the binding for the immediate step after user decision.
         Also, check the workflow log whether the containers for the step that updates the database are populated with required values.
         Is the method that updates the database is custom method ?

  • Workflow and WD integration

    Hi,
    We are implementing Workflow and Webdynpro ABAP integration.Employee submits competences from portal, this triggers an approval task to the manager .Manager will approve the task from worklist and when he clicks on task, Web dynpro application opens up where he has to approve or reject accordingly.
    We have approve and reject buttons in Web dynpro and we have used User Decision Step type in Workflow to open the Web dynpro application.User decision step decisions are mapped to Web Dynpro approve/reject actions.
    So we are able to successfully launch the Web dynpro and perform the actions.But problem is the rest of Wrokflow after User Decision step is not getting executed. Workflow is getting stopped at this point.
    We have tried using FM's SAPI_WAPI_DECISION_COMPLETE and SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE.
    Both these FM.s complete the User Decision step but does not execute rest of Workflow.
    Please help me if you have come across this scenario.

  • LR vs CS workflow and file structure

    I am trying to establish a workflow for using LR (1.4) and PS3 using the same principles that I used for using PS3 by itself. I have described it below. Can anyone give me advice how best I can achieve what I am trying to do? Perhaps I am not using LR correctly. I am a photo enthusiast, not a professional, and take 50 or so images a couple of times a week. Of those 100, I may consider five or ten to be the best. So we are not talking large numbers of images in my workflow.
    My PS workflow involved first downloading all photos into a Chrono file. From there I would delete the bad ones and pick the best ones, and leave all the others alone. Then I would copy my best images into a separate Best folder. Then I would back up the Chrono files on an external hard drive. Later I would back up the Best files when I was finished working on them. The important point is that I segregated copies of my best photos from all the others and backed them up separately. I had the best photos saved in two places, once in the Chrono files and again in the Best files.
    Now I use LR and begin the same way by importing everything in a Chrono file. I am stuck when it comes to the next step. I could take the best photos and move them into a Best Collection, but the Collection version of this image is not a real copy like the PS copy was. I cannot back up the Chrono and Best files separately because there is only one file, the Chrono file. The Best file does not exist.
    There may be a way to use Export and Import as a way to make real copies of my best and to put them in a separate files, but I dont know what that way would be and it seems a bit complicated on the surface. The only images I want to keep linked to the LR database are the best ones. I want to delink all the others and simply back them up and get them out of the way.
    So, what I am trying to do is to make real copies of my best images, put them in a separate file that will remain on my hard drive (backed up of course) and have them be the original as far as LR is concerned.
    Is this a reasonable objective? If so, how can I do it? If not, can you suggest a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do? Many thanks.

    Hi Lenny, I've been tried a few times to import files from the FS7 into FCPX with no luck. I've installed Sony's  XAVC/XDCAM Plug-in for Apple (PDZK-LT2) - but it doesn't seem to import native FS7 files (even though I know notice it lists the FS7 as a compatible camera here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/pdzk-lt2) The FS700 shoots AVCHD - which FCP understands (well FCPX does). You state that Sony has just come out with a new ProApp update - what is that? Catalyst Browse has a little film strip icon at the bottom right which I seem to remember being the save location button. I think you need Catalyst Prepare (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/catalyst) to do batch conversions. I do hope either Apple or Sony tidy all of this up and it's quite confusing...

  • Workflow and POWL integration for Travel Request / Approval

    HI,
    We are on EHP7 and using POWL  for different kind of Approvals.
    POWL is working good for Leave Approval and we have used Workflow Task ID as : TS12300097 / TS12300116, and all leave request appearing in POWL for manager and approving them.
    Now we have to use POWL for Travel Request / Travel Expense approval and need to know what Task IDs I should use to configure this under SPRO.
    Few tabs / links created like Travel Req Approval / Expense Approval / Claim Approval in POWL and need to show entries in respective tabs.
    Thanks

    HI
    Is it required to run FPB_MAINTAIN_PERS_S / FPB_MAINTAIN_PERS_M to display Travel entries in POWL screen.
    2) Is it required to keep entries under "Assign Task IDs to POWL Types" in SPRO ???
    ex : MANAGER_MSS_INBOX    MSS_POWL_LEA_APPROVAL    TS12300097
    I don;t see any difference in terms of functionality even If i delete above entry, may i know the necessity of having those entries ?

  • SAP Business Workflow and Webservice Integration

    I have scenario in which I need to Integrate SAP Workflow with a Inhouse UI Application through Webservice.
    Design:
    I want to use the Workflow for Task management. However whenever user has to perform a event I want to push the work item into another inhouse application which has capability to invoke/receive webservice. The inhouse application should only perform user events and publish the message back to workflow. Work Item management will be done in SAP Workflow. I need to send the data container to and from SAP Workflow.
    Is there any problem in the above design?
    How can I achieve the same in SAP Workflow?
    Can any one share the experience?

    I would like to know as well about this, did you get an answer?
    Thanks for any pointers.

  • Workflow and MS Exchange Integration

    Hi All!
    This is very urgent!
    Could anyone tell me if there is such a thing as <b>integration between MS Exchange and SAP Business Workflow</b>?
    I know that there exists an integration between SAP Business Workflow and Lotus Notes/Outlook.  Is it also possible for MS Exchange?
    If this is possible, please tell me how to make this thing work.
    If possible, please send me files or links for this.
    This is my email ad: [email protected]
    Thank you very much guys!
    Please help me. (--,)

    Hi Kjetil!
    I was surprised when Aditya replied that the RSWUWFML2 report cannot be used for Lotus Notes email client. (--,)
    Could you share notes or resource about <b>Extended Notifications</b>?  We are using ECC6.
    About the kind of integration, the supposed scenario is to have a two-way communication between SAP Business Workflow and Lotus Notes where a workitem recieved in the Lotus Notes can be <b>executed</b> and can perform the approval steps by just using the email link.
    However, there is this chance that the client will only have a 1-way communication between SAP worlkflow and Lotus Notes where the sent message only contains the information of the workitem which would tell the recipient that there are workitems present in his/her inbox and needs to be executed through <b>SAPinbox</b>.
    Regardless of the decision of the client, are these 2-way and 1-way communication scenario possible using Lotus Notes?
    Thank you very much!

  • IPhoto 08 and Photoshop - suggestions on workflow and managing PSD files

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm a long-time Photoshop user, and a recent convert to Mac (BTW - I love my new Mac), therefore I am also new to iPhoto 08. I must say that I actually enjoy how iPhoto manages my pictures, as it is not all that different from how I've been managing my pics manually for years (by year, by event, etc.). I've read the various discussion topics on how to set up and use Photoshop as an external editor from iPhoto, and have not had any problems up to now.
    I'm now looking for suggestions on workflow and managing my PSD files. I apologize if this is a little long, but I want to make sure I explain the problem clearly. Here's the scenario:
    - From iPhoto, I choose to edit an existing JPEG file in the external editor, Photoshop.
    - I perform my edits (including advanced edits with layers etc.)
    - I do both a "Save As..." and a "Save". That way, I "Save" the flattened JPEG back to my iPhoto library properly, and "Save As..." a PSD file in case I want to do further edits on the image later (days, weeks, months later).
    I'm looking for suggestions on where to put my PSDs. For now, I am saving the PSD to my desktop (using max compatibility), and then importing the PSD into my iPhoto library (into the same Event as the original JPEG). However, this leaves me with 2 copies of the same picture: 1 JPEG, and 1 PSD.
    The problem is, I now want to go back and do more tweaks on the PSD, the end result of which will make the JPEG version out-of-date. I can either
    1) Open both the PSD and JPEG versions at the same time, tweak the PSD, then copy and paste the flattened layers on top of the JPEG version and "Save"
    2) Open only the PSD, tweak, and save a copy as a JPEG onto my desktop and re-import into iPhoto.
    Although a little tedious, both options seem to work. Are there any other options? What do you suggest? I'm curious to see how others manage this.

    I don't have a solution for you (sorry) but I'd like to comment because I'm in a similar boat. However instead of saving PSD files to the desktop, I've been advised to save these to TIFF format in Photoshop by a professioal photographer friend of mine (I think he feels its a more universal file format than PSD for archival purposes). The downside is the files are huge.
    I imported high resolution jpegs into iPhoto. I then use Photoshop to edit and save the flattened jpeg version back to iPhoto (thankfully, keywords are preserved this way). I recently realized that I need to save a copy of the edited file in a lossless format like TIFF or PSD. Unfortunately when I save the file to TIFF and import it back into iPhoto, keywords are lost. This is a drag.
    What I am trying to figure out is how I can retain my keyword info in the edited archival version. Any tips?
    I'm beginning to question whether I should import my photos in to Photoshop (or PS Bridge) first, save the original for archival purposes, do the majority of editing and save a TIFF/PSD file and then import this file into iPhoto for keywording, further editing, downsizing, etc.

  • Workflow and/ or script to rename finder items using a .txt or a .csv file as a reference?

    Can someone assist me, I am looking for a workflow and/ or script that would allow me to rename finder items using a .txt or a .csv file as a reference for the new naming convention?

    THANK YOU!!!!
    I have taken your recommendation and enabled the script menubar item.  I also tweeked the script as you recommended, I will play with both options to see which I prefer.   I thank you again for the quick turn around on this.
    If I am to understand your comment correctly about placing the .csv file in the same folder as the files to be renamed I should modify the script as such.
    REMOVE:
                        set csvFile to choose file with prompt "Select the CSV file." of type "public.text"
                        set workingFolder to (choose folder "Select the folder to be processed") as text
                        set fileList to (POSIX path of (files of folder workingFolder whose visible is true and name begins with "untitled"))
    REPLACE WITH:
                        set csvList to paragraphs of (read "/path/to/csvfile.csv")
                          set fileList to (POSIX path of (files of folder "/pah/to/folder" whose visible is true andname begins with "untitled"))
    After reading this and attempting to modify it I am missing one piece of markup or the arrangement of the markup.
    Please find the modified script with options:
    -- change this to specify the correct csv delimiter
    set splitDelimiter to ","
    -- change this to specify the file name join character
    set recombineDelimiter to "_"
    -- choose the csv file
    set csvFile to choose file with prompt "Select the CSV file." of type "public.text"
    -- choose the folder
    set workingFolder to (choose folder "Select the folder to be processed") as text
    -- csv contents as list
    set csvList to paragraphs of (read csvFile)
    --set csvList to paragraphs of (read "/path/to/csvfile.csv")
    tell application "System Events"
    -- list of files in alphabetical order
         set fileList to (POSIX path of (files of folder workingFolder whose visible is true and name begins with "untitled"))
      -- set fileList to (POSIX path of (files of folder "/path/to/folder" whose visible is true and name begins with "untitled"))
         repeat with i from 1 to count of fileList
    -- get a file from the file list and note its extension
              set currentFile to file (item i of fileList)
              set fileExtension to name extension of currentFile
    -- get a line from the csv list, split it at the delimiter,  and recombine it
              set {oldTID, my text item delimiters} to {my text item delimiters, splitDelimiter}
              set newFileNamePieces to text items of (item i of csvList)
              set my text item delimiters to recombineDelimiter
              set newFileName to newFileNamePieces as text
              set my text item delimiters to oldTID
    -- write the new name back out to the file
              set name of currentFile to (newFileName & "." & fileExtension)
         end repeat

  • Lightroom workflow - HD setup and file locations

    Has anyone waxed poetic about catalog and image file locations or workflow? How do you go about conceptualizing a drive and file storage strategy for a Lightroom workflow? Of course this will vary depending on the equipment you have, but I'd appreciate and links to stories that run through various configuration setups and the possible workflows and locations for catalog, master files and backup locations. Here's my setup:
    - Mac Pro (3GHz 8 Core) with two 750GB internal drives (one for OS X) the other for Apps and content storage); two empty drive bays for now.
    - PowerBook G4 1.2GHz w/160GB internal drive that I use on location, or as an in-lab Flash card reader if the Addonics external, Firewire card reader attached to the Mac Pro fails to see a camera card (as it sometimes does). This second in-lab scenario adds some complexity to the workflow, although the machines are linked with Cat 6, gigabit Ethernet.
    - OWC Mercury Elite Pro with two 750GB drives configured as a mirrored, software RAID on Firewire 800 for backups.
    Should I set up the Lightroom catalog on the internal "content" drive and store all the actual image files there, reserving the RAID drive strictly for backups? This would mean that the RAID would only be used a redundant backup system (which is fine and what I originally planned) since it's probably slower than the single, internal drive. The problem is this: remembering to back up the files from the main content drive to the software RAID drive.
    Or should I be using the slower, mirrored RAID for main content (master image file and catalog) storage.

    John, Andrew and others:
    Thanks for your thoughts. Do you also use Lightroom to manage all "working" versions of Photoshop files (multiple version - edits - of files in progress)?
    During my first couple of projects, I ended up creating a "Working" folder for each project outside the Nikon folder-oriented hierarchy of the original image files. I did this only out of habit rather than workflow planning, but ended up with a second workflow outside of Lightroom.
    Does anyone think it's better to simply save these files (with or without the "working" folders) into the same folder hierarchy with all the Nikon originals? I'm just trying to figure out how to organize the workflow for the in-progress files.
    Again, before Lightroom, I managed these files in separate folders on the hard drive, and usually moved them to a new location for final storage. Clearly, that won't work for Lightroom, but what does? I'm getting into a bit of trouble trying to manage file (and working folder) locations as I try to transition to a new, database-driven workflow.

  • File Move and Rename Workflow and/or Script

    This seems to be a simple workflow to create, but it isn't working for me. I want a workflow and/or script that will move screenshots from my desktop and place them into a folder. Secondly, I want these images to be renamed from "Picture #" to "Screenshot #" when placed in the folder. I also want future images placed in this folder to be named sequentially without any problems. For instance, if Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2, and Screenshot 3 are present in the folder after the workflow is ran once, the next file should be named Screenshot 4 when the workflow is ran again. Can anyone offer any assistance in this matter? I would greatly appreciate it.

    If all you are doing is renaming and moving screenshots, then a regular AppleScript should do. Copy and paste the following script into the Script Editor and save as an application (uncheck the Startup Screen option). When it is first run it will ask for the destination folder, but after that it will use the same folder (until the script is recompiled, anyway).
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px; height: 340px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFDDFF;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    -- rename and move screenshots from the desktop to the specified folder
    property ScreenshotFolder : (path to desktop) -- the default folder where the screenshots are created
    property ScreenshotExtension : ".png" -- the default screenshot extension
    property DestinationFolder : missing value -- the folder to move to
    on run
    if DestinationFolder is missing value then set DestinationFolder to (choose folder)
    tell application "Finder" to get files of ScreenshotFolder whose name begins with "Picture " -- get screenshots
    repeat with AnItem in the result -- do stuff with each item
    GetUniqueName for ("Screenshot" & ScreenshotExtension) from DestinationFolder
    tell application "Finder"
    set the name of AnItem to the result -- rename
    move (ScreenshotFolder as text) & the result to DestinationFolder -- move
    end tell
    end repeat
    end run
    to GetUniqueName for SomeName from SomeFolder
    check if SomeName exists in SomeFolder, creating a new unique name if needed
    parameters - SomeName [text]: a name.extension to check for
    SomeFolder [mixed]: a folder to check
    returns [text]: a unique name
    set {Counter, Divider} to {"01", " "}
    set Here to -(offset of "." in ((reverse of text items of SomeName) as text)) - 1
    set TheName to text 1 thru Here of SomeName
    if Here is -1 then -- no extension
    set TheExtension to ""
    else
    set TheExtension to text (Here + 1) thru -1 of SomeName
    end if
    set NewName to TheName & Divider & Counter & TheExtension -- always add a suffix
    tell application "System Events" to tell (get name of items of folder (SomeFolder as text))
    repeat while it contains NewName
    set Counter to text 2 thru -1 of ((100 + Counter + 1) as text) -- increment suffix with leading zero
    set NewName to TheName & Divider & Counter & TheExtension
    end repeat
    end tell
    return NewName
    end GetUniqueName
    </pre>
    I added a leading zero to the number suffix so that the items sort properly. Note that if one of the renamed items is removed, a new screenshot will take it's place (the suffix starts at the beginning each time). If this isn't desired, the script can be tweaked to remember the last suffix number.

  • SSM-40 ver7.1.(8)E4- and Tripwire File Integrity check

                       We recently upgraded to this version of the firmware from ver 7.0.6
    When we did - Tripwire File Integrity fails to discover the command prompt when pulling the configuration.  It does not execute the --more-- command.
    Has anyone else experienced something similar on this firmware?  We can execute the command from an ssh command.
    Thanks!

    BTW- I should add - the device logs on - it does not get past the Cisco license which displays. It hangs where in theory the first "more" would exectue - to pass through the text. The problem is there is not a way for me to execute the more command (ie term length 0) or anything prior to the logon - because once the Tripwire interface logs in - the CISCO license displays and pauses halfway through - and requires the more command before it gets to the command prompt. Because this command is never executed - it hangs and then times out. I also should add that the new firmware appears to be using a later version of ssh - 199openssh_5.9 - as opposed to 199openshh_3.71ps as the former version of firmware was.

  • Difference between Workflow and Integration Process

    Hi Experts,
    Can someone please explain, what is the difference between the workflow and integration process(BPM).
    Thanks
    Sree

    Hi Sree,
    Integration Processes are :-
    --Message based
    --Interface focused
    --Cross component
    --Have no support for human interaction
    --Enabled with SAP XI
    Workflows are:-
    --Object based
    --Human focused
    --Intra-application
    --Have no support for mapping, routing or message transformations
    --Enabled with the SAP Web AS
    However, most automated business processes involve a combination of the two.
    I hope this clear your doubt.
    Regards.
