Workflow approvals in OWA 2013 - App Error something went wrong

Hi,
We are testing an attribute workflow approval. When the approver reads the message in OWA 2013, expands 'action items' we see the following error...instead of the usual 'Approve' or 'Reject' buttons. This computer does not have Outlook, so we cannot deploy
the FIM add-ins and extensions...but I dont think they are required if we're just using OWA?
Thank you

Hello Shim!
As far as I know the action items in OWA cannot display "approve" or "reject" options witch sends an response to FIM Service account Mailbox. The options Microsoft offers is FIM portal, Outlook with add-ins.

  • 2013 OWA - Open Another Mailbox, :-( something went wrong, Error 500

Our client is experiencing an issue where they are not able to open another mailbox even if the user has full access to the account under mailbox delegation.  The user would click on the 'Open Another Mailbox" and they receive the following error
    something went wrong
    The URL shows the following:
    https://domain.com/owa/auth/errorfe.aspx?httpCode=500
The problem I have is similar to the following post but my client is also behind a UAG 2010 server, and I cannot change to forms based authentication.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/9345d396-b5a6-4d26-a498-7d1539f85d13/exchange-2013-owa-http-500-error-when-opening-another-mailbox?forum=exchangesvrclients
The error within the IIS OWA logs shows as follows.
    2014-02-04 17:48:04 10.100.2.10 GET /owa/auth/errorfe.aspx httpCode=500&cafeReqId=f9be7757-b123-4ce1-a585-b9c4ef45cd4b; 443 - 10.100.2.42 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+MSIE+10.0;+Windows+NT+6.2;+WOW64;+Trident/6.0)

I'm running out of ideas on what could be the issue and but our users will need to manage other mailboxes pretty soon.
Edit:  I should also add that the permissions are correct as the user can connect to the target mailbox via Outlook 2013.

    Hi Bryan
It should be happening for most of the mailboxes since we ran into similar kind of problem recently
There could be 2 reasons for not happening
    IIS Settings not configured properly
    Permission issues
Check SSL Settings on DWS and ensure Ignore Client Certificates is selected
Also remove SSL from DWS for HTTP to HTTPS Redirect
    Check the permission under ADUC
Check if  Exchange Server Object is member of  tab of Domain Admins if so remove them. Also remove Exchange Organization Administrators and Exchange Servers group from Organization Management if they are added

  • When I try to execute any workflow I get the error "Something went wrong.."

    Hello,
Last weekend I updated the servers farm and I executed "SharePoint 2013 products configuration wizard" But I had an error and the wizard showed this: Conpleted configuration settings will not be rolled back.
From this moment when I try to execute any workflow in one of my site collections I always get the error "something went wrong.." Then I was checking the logs and I saw this:

But I cannot find any solution.
    Please Help!

    Hello,
After some troubleshooting finally I opened a case to Microsoft, finally we solved the error:
    I cleared the configuration cache:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
With this I could execute the wizard without any problem and the problem was solved.
But if with this the problem is not fix, Apart from that, you can check this:
Apparently, Microsoft change the number version of the SP1, then if you have the first sp1 versión, you will have problems with the wizard because is looking for the newer version.
The first SP1 number version was:
    15.0.4569.1506
    The currently SP1 version is:
    15.0.4571.1502
You can check your versión with this script:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/stefan_gossner/archive/2015/04/20/powershell-script-to-display-version-info-for-sharepoint-product-and-language-packs.aspx
Finally if you have the first version the solution is download SP1 again (newer) and install it again (it is not necessary unistall the currently SP1) When you finish, try to execute wizard again and everything will work fine.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi Jacob,
Have you tried re-publishing the projects from MS Project and see if that helps?
500 tasks are quite a lot for the browser to deal with; I usually recommend switching to MS Project when you have that number of tasks for a project

  • Unable to access OWA or ECP. - "Something went wrong" or "500 unexpected error"

Our environment consist of 3 client access servers with 8 mailbox servers.  I recently installed windows updates on all of the servers.  Now when a user tries to access OWA it fails and says "Something went wrong" when I try to access
ECP I receive "500 unexpected error"
I have tried building a new CAS and mailbox servers with the default settings but it still fails.  I did not install the latest Windows updates on the new servers.  I tried creating new databases with new users and it also fails.

I opened a case with Microsoft.  After 3 days and over 15 hours on the phone they were able to resolve the problem.  They had to use ADSI edit to remove the canary data for the domain.
I tried rebuilding the virtual directories, building a new CAS server, a new mailbox server and a new server with both roles installed.  I created a new database and new users in that database and used the new CAS server but the problem continued which
led us to believe it was something being obtained from Active Directory.  We finally figured out the problem was in the properties of an object in ADSI.
You have to open the ADSI editor on the primary domain controller (start-->administrative tools-->ADSI edit), go to CN=Services --> CN=Microsoft Exchange --> CN=<Your Site Name>  Right click CN=Client Access and click properties.
Scroll down to msExchCanaryData0.  You have to click edit and copy the data from Data0, Data1 and Data2 (you may have more or less) to a notepad file.  Then erase the data from those settings.  Now log onto the CAS server and open IIS management.
Go to application pools and  right click MSExchangeOWAAppPool and click Recycling.  Then restart all of the mailbox servers.
It's a great idea to take a system state backup before performing these steps as editing ADSI data is risky.

  • SharePoint 2013 - Refiners "Sorry, something went wrong."

    Good Afternoon,
I have an issue that has had me stumped for a couple of days now. I have a number of search results pages and on one of them and only one of them I am getting an error.
Whenever I add a refiners webpart and save the page everything works fine. However if I add or remove any refiners I get the infamous "Sorry, something went wrong." Whats causing my problems though is that when I click on Show Details there is
no correlation ID and I cannot see any errors in the ULS logs that might be related to this.
Using SharePoint Manager 2013 I opened the page properties and selected the webpart and I am getting the following message against "Effective Storage" and "Permissions" : Trying to use an SPWeb object that has been closed or disposed
    and is no longer valid.
So in desperation I deleted the page and recreated it but the issue persists. The only thing different about this page and the other pages is that this page show people results. However if I change the query to use the "System Everything" results
source I still get the error.
    edit:
I have just tried to amend the refiners on an existing page and I can amend them with no issues. I then created a brand new page and I get the same error. On my new pages I changed nothing except adding the search box / search results and refiners web parts.
So its an issue that does not affect existing pages only new ones..
More info: I have just created a new site on the same same site collection and created a page on this new site and I get the same issue.
    Regards,
    Brian Jones

    Hello,
    Thanks for your interest.
    These are the steps:
    1. Create a new page
    2. Add the following web parts, Search Box, Search Results, Refiners. If I then just save and close the page everything works fine.
    3. Edit the page
    4. Edit the refiners web part.
    5. Click on change refiners* select any refiner that is already added and remove it (any it does not matter).
    6. Click OK on the web part properties. Immediately I get this issue. As you can see there is no correlation id in the error message.
    7. Edit the refiner web part again and re-add the refiner I removed. Click on OK on the web part edit pane. The issue persists.
    8. If I delete the refiner web part and re-add it the refiners web part works fine again unless I try and modify the selected refiners.
Please note this issue occurs if I add refiners as well.

    Hi Matt, Laurent,
    Just a couple of comments:
You should of cource use SSL for the Developer Studio connection to avoid sending cleartext passwords.
Yes, the user needs to be created in UME, but no specific IDM roles are needed. All authorisations are set in the IdM db. (Do not confuse Developer Studio users with IdM users.)
The initial Developer Studio user is created in the IdM db during IdM 8 installation, you only need to add it to UME.
Additional Developer Studio users are first created in UME, and then from Developer Studio, they are created in the IdM db.
The script is there just for an emergency.
    Regards,
    Ole K.

  • Something went wrong. To try again, reload the page and then start the workflow

We have a SP 2013 farm with Aug 2013 CU. While trying to start an SPD 2013 platform workflow from browser I get an error "Something went wrong. To try again, reload the page and then start the workflow."
I could also see the following in ULS:

This seems to be a bug and is solved in Mar 2013 PU but I have Aug CU. The web where I have this workflow has classic mode auth. Has anyone come across this error before?
    I have checked the following:
    1. Service
    Bus Gateway and Service
Bus Manager Broker services are started
    2. Authentication for this web application is Windows NTLM

    Thank you for the steps.
I have checked User Profile service and it is started and running fine. The user who is trying to start the workflow (me) has a profile created. I'm not starting wf as system account and my account is not added to web application user policy. Workflow isn't
even firing when I try to edit list item.
I tried to edit the list item as system account and workflow started this time. But it does to suspended state with the following message:

  • Office 2013 - Something went wrong (no kidding)

New x64 machine running Office Home & Business 2013 x86 OEM.
Originally, everything was running fine. Installed fine, set up fine, and ran fine. Inexplicibally, user calls stating when running ANY office app, it states "Something went wrong" and would not open (computer was only a few days old, no other
    mods/installations).
    Tried:
    Online Quick Repair (same error)
    Online Full Repar (same error)
Removal of product via KB2739501 (removed fine, now won't install)
Now product is removed. Ran FixIt KB2739501 twice and even removed Office folders in programs dir. When attempting to run ClickToRun installer, i get "Something went wrong". Really?
Tried x86 and x64 ClickToRun, no dice. Currently downloading the insanely massive offiline installer (because for some reason MS bundled x86 and x64 together... totally bright), but don't have any faith. User has been without Office apps for days. Scouring
net notes MS has a recognized issue with the installer process and licensing, but various fixes that worked for others, doesn't work here.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Hi,
The first step I suggest is to start Office Apps in Safe Mode, check if the crash will happen.
    Let's take Outlook for example:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
If the issue persists in Safe Mode, please go to the Event Viewer, you may find out more information about why the Office apps crashed.
Press Win + R and type "eventvwr" in the blank box, then press Enter.
    You may learn from http://www.msoutlook.info/question/317
If now you can't install Office properly, please refer to the KB below:
Office 2013 or Office 365 installation error "Something went wrong"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2827031/en-us
Try Fix it in the kb to try again.

  • Error message when trying login to Network Monitor "oops something went wrong"

I am trying to get network monitor to work on my network. However, when installed I enter my credentials and get the error something went wrong. I am assuming we are blocking some traffic on the firewall or possibly even through a content filter. What I don't know is what url needs to be white-listed or which ports need to be opened for the application to work.
Firewall is off on the pc. I can authenticate when on a standard "outside link" But cannot when the same pc is on the LAN at work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Can't install widget browser - Adobe AIR, "Something went Wrong . . ."

I'm having trouble installing the widget browser as I get an error:
"Something went wrong trying to install this application.  Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from
http://www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again."  I've included a screen shot at bottom of this post.
I've downloaded the adobe air application and installed several times, but still get this same popup error
message when trying to install the Dreamweaver Widget Browser.
Here are some details of my system:
    OS: Vista Ultimate 64bit
    Browser: Firefox 3.6.3
    Dreamweaver CS5
    Adobe Flash 10 installed
    Adobe Download Manager installed
Adobe Air installed (per Control Panel -> Programs & Features)

Thank you for your replies and help.  I followed your instructions and found that I'm running the current version of AIR:
I couldn't find the version via your first instructions.  When I browsed and ran properties on folder 1.0, I was presented with Version folders with different dates, but could find nothing about the current version.
I followed your second set of instructions and was able to browse to the AIR folder and just run the application and browse for the file I downloaded.  It worked like a charm to visually show me the version, (first screen shot above).
I'm wondering if it's because I try to keep my C:Windows drive as bare as possible by installing all of my applications on another hard drive.  This version of AIR is running on my C drive, yet DW & Photoshop CS5 are running on my "E" drive where there is no folder called "Common Files" for AIR versions.
I've run the command line you had suggested as well in order to keep a log file.  I'll pass along the results when I try to install again.

  • IE11 Microsoft links - "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."

I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets this error.
I use Windows 8.1 and many time when I try to access a KB or a Microsoft link I get this error:
"Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."
it can happen either if I search something on google or enter a link inside Microsoft\TechNet\MSDN etc...
when I try to open the same link on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox - it opens immediately as expected!
I know IE opens my sessions with an integration to my Microsoft ID, though I don't see any reason why it will block me from entering Microsoft links
    any ideas?

when I try to access a KB or a Microsoft link I get this error:
"Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."
Yes.  Infuriating symptom.  I'm still working on the hypothesis that is related to my accounts' credentials.  I have not yet resorted to using Credentials Manager to completely deleting everything there.  I have an idea that this atrocious
UX (It gets even worse if you try exploring the other options.) may be a really obnoxious hint to try changing my passwords, e.g. since I recently upgraded to W8.1 from W8.1 Preview.  I contacted MS Support but their only suggestions were: to
do RIES (e.g. since the symptom shows on my browser, it
must be the browser that is the problem and ignoring my explanation that I had already proven that existing Cookies could not be the cause); try using a different browser (which I don't have yet because of the new OS); and then if that doesn't work try
to refresh the OS!  (Talk about sledge hammer solutions to avoid doing diagnosis.)
A workaround is to open a new session where I won't be logged in and then I can just use the KB URL anonymously.  (E.g. in IE press Alt-F, i.  InPrivate Browsing mode (Ctrl+Shift+P will probably work too.)   Annoying but not as irritating
    as that damned UX.

  • SP 2013 Running Workflow giving Error - Sorry Something went wrong

    Hi,
We have publish workflow running on a document and we need to cancel/ terminate it.
On the workflow Page we can see under the "Running Workflows" , the workflow is running. But when we click on that it gives the Something went wrong error message. As we are not able to goto the workflow status page on UI, we dont get option to
    End the workflow.
To Cancel the workflow we tried following things -
    1. Powershell command to get the workflow object and cancel it. But using the powershell command- $listItems.Workflows does not give the instance of this stuck workflow. If we start new workflow on that item , it will get added to the count but this stuck
workflow does not come under its count. So we are not able to get its instance using powershell and cancel it.
    2. Using client side programming we tried directly passing the workflow instance name and terminate it but it gives the exception that "given key was not present in the dictionary"
    string workflowGuid = "91ee281b-3938-45a5-9bb2-8bd128bfa90c";
    var workflowServicesManager = new WorkflowServicesManager(clientContext, clientContext.Web);
    var workflowInstanceService = workflowServicesManager.GetWorkflowInstanceService();
    WorkflowInstance instance = workflowInstanceService.GetInstance(new Guid(workflowGuid));
    workflowInstanceService.SuspendWorkflow(instance);
Please let us know how to get rid of this stuck workflows.
    prashant

    Hi Prashant,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to cancel the stuck workflows in SharePoint 2013.
If the workflow is designed in SharePoint, I recommend to go to the Workflow Settings of the document library, click Remove, Block, or Restore a Workflow to remove the workflow with the stuck instances and then republish the workflow from Designer to SharePoint.
Or you can use the code in the link below to cancel all the workflow instances to see if the issue still occurs:

  • Exchange 2013 - OWA "Something Went Wrong", Out of office in Outlook "Server unavailable"

    Hi,
We have a new deployment of Exchange 2013 CU2 V2 running on a Windows 2012 server.  Everything has been running without issues and then without any real clue to why, we are now getting an issue where OWA says "Something Went Wrong" after processing
your login, (it appears to process the login as if I type in incorrect details it tells me the password/username is wrong).
At the same time we have also lost the ability to run the Out Of Office in Outlook which comes back saying the server is not available and we can't seem to share calendars correctly either.  (Can set Out Of Office via the Management Shell without issues).
When running a Get-Serverhealth on the OWA.Protocol it tells me the OWASelfTestMonitor is unhealthy.
I've tried re-creating the OWA, EWS Virtual Directorys and also the autodiscover but with no effect.  I've also restarted the server.
Outlook 2013 and mobile phones are working fine on the server and the Exchange Admin Centre is also working without issues.
I am getting tempted to apply CU2 again to see if this sorts it but don't really like doing this on a server with 50 live users on it...
In the eventlog I can see lots of the 2 errors listed below which seems to line up.  (System Log and Application Log seem to be clear of other errors or warnings.)

I can't see any re-directions on the website and have certainly not set any intentionally.  I did try installing the Remote Web Gateway on the server and then found that it doesn't work on an exchange box and removed it but the server was working after
    this.
The HTTP Redirect in Default Web Site is not showing anything set and the same for the Back End.
    The bindings on the default site all look normal with;
    http     80   127.0.0.1
    https   443  127.0.0.1
    http     80    *
    http    443   *
The same is mirrored in the Exchange Back End site but with ports 81 and 444.
Running the Outlook auto configure just using Autodiscover all looks good with the URLs listed all pointing to (http)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/whatever...  and the log says Autodiscover to (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml Suceeded
    (0x00000000)
    But, if I type in the OOF address of (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/EWS/exchange.asmx I get a login prompt but once user details are entered I then get;
