Workflow definitions disappear

Hi,
All my workflow definitions built over the last few hours using the standalone Workflow Builder 2.6.3 have mysteriously disappeared.
Whan I opened the wft, there was nothing there !! Even under Show/Hide Item Types, both the lists are empty.
Is it possible to recover my work ??
Please help...
Regards,
Rahul.

Hello,
We (or at least me) have not come across such a behavior before, but I do have a habit of saving often - whether it is a word document or workflow definition.
However, to understand why this may be happening - the flow definition during constructing all resides in memory. So, if the PC is running low on memory and has any other OS related issues, it may be raising some fault which are not handled by the builder.
So, adding an auto-save feature in the next generation of builder will be good idea i guess!!
Cheers,
Raja

  • Workflow Customizing Error: "Workflow: No workflow definition found"

    Hi experts,
    I am currently configuring Workflow on our newly installed ECC 6.0 using the Automatic Workflow Customizing (SWU3).
    I was able successfully executed all necessary items including the RFC destination but when i choose the 'Start Verification Workflow', this error appears: "Workflow: No workflow definition found".
    I tried logging in and out of the system, and repeating the execution of each item but the same error still occurs.
    I read a thread that says it might do something with WF-BATCH but i was able to set it as the RFC destination; WF-BATCH has the following settings in SU01:
    Username: WF-BATCH
    User Type: System
    User Group: SUPER
    Authorization: SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW
    Hope somebody can help me resolve this issue as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Dex

    Hi Dex,
    Have you maintained the Number ranges in Transaction SWU3?
    If so, then test the workflow from SWDD itself.
    I think you gave the wrong workflow ID in the SWUS transaction.
    First try with SWDD and then check it in SWUS Transaction.
    Thanks,
    Viji.

  • Getting dump during opening the workflow definition

    Hello Experts
    I created one Workflow 2 months before and it was working fine till yesterday. when I check the workflow definition by clicking on push button 'Workflow builder' from transaction 'PFTC', I got dump.it is not opening workflow definition.
    I tried to open the workflow definition is from transaction 'SWDD' but I got dump from there as well.
    the short text of the short dump is  'Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible'
    I check the tables and all the steps included in workflow is present.
    Could you please let me know what could be the issue and how can I resolve it.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Vibhor,
    Is this issue happening with all the users trying to open this particular workflow?
    If this is a user specific issue, then it could be authorization or roles related. Else it could be more serious than it looks like.
    Also, check with the basis team if there were any OSS notes / patches applied in the system since yesterday which could have resulted in this issue.
    Hope this helps!

  • Error in WS14000075: Workflow definition '' not in version ''

    Hi,
    We are getting the following error on our SRM 5.0 system while trying to approve the PO with 0step approval workflow: (in swud after running a consistency check on the workflow WS14000075)
    E WD:401 Workflow definition '' not in version ''
    We have already checked OSS Note 962488 and it did not resolve our problem. Besides we had a look at the forum Workflow without approval not working
    Awaiting your help

    Hi Emre,
    In our case the problem was in several confirmation standard workflows.
    In the workflow builder (SWDD) we use the navigation Area to check every workflow. I mean we did double click in each step, if the step had a subworkflow, then we open the subworhflow, checked it, and if it appeared the same error we used the function module for the subworkflow.
    In this way we achieved to solve the problem. I hope this helps you.

  • Deleting Workflow definition

    I am thinking of using script wfrmitt.sql to drop the design and run time information for one specific item type.
    After the delete I am planning to apply the new workflow definition for the same item type.
    This is because changes made to the workflow objects are not reflecting in my test instance.
    Pl. advise if there is better way of updating the workflow definition.
    Thanks

    Figured it out. I don't need to delete the definition. See my other posting @ Workflow changes not reflected
    Sorry for the confusion.

    Hi
    Go to SWDD and activate the workflow template.  Then go to SWU_OBUF and refresh the buffers, and then refresh the org environment using the option in SWUD-->Problem:Workflow Does not start menu path.  Test your event again
    If still no joy goto SWUD go to Test Environment and select simulate event taking note of the messages code displayed.

  • HELP!! Oracle Files workflow definition needed! Please read!

    Dear friends,
    Please read the following and help me if you can. It is really a very important and urgent issue.
    We're in the middle of the OCS installation (precisely in the end of the storage layer). We have now to configure workflow, since this has to be done BEFORE the application (middle-tier) installation.
    One of the steps is loading the workflow definitions (.wft files) which will be used by Oracle Files. But the instructions we received say thses files are MISSING in LINUX installations (just like ours!).
    So if you have these .wft files in your installation please PLEASE mail them to me ([email protected]) as soon as possible. Documentation says these files are located in <oracle home>/ifs/files/admin/config. Probably you can also access them through Oracle Workflow Builder.
    I will be forever grateful to all of you that help me with this stuff! ;)
    Best regards,
    Vinicius

    Bradley,
    Both of these issues sound like they should be directed to Adobe.
    In the first case, it sounds like the file opens fine in Adobe, but once you combine this with other files and resave you get this error when you try and open the files again. It's Adobe that's saving the files at this point (Reports is pretty much out of the picture). You may want to try with Reports 9i, where a higher level of PDF is output, but that doesn't mean that Adobe shouldn't deal with the earlier versons.
    In the second case, Reports outputs PostScript via the standard windows printer drivers and APIs - there's no special settings for this (in fact it looks like this is a standard initialization parameter for the printer). Again, you should probably contact Adobe for more assistance.
    Hope this helps,
    Danny

  • Workflow definition not activated

    Hi,
    after transporting a workflow from DEV to QUA environment I get the following error message in transaction SWU0:
    "Workflow definition not activated"
    How can I solve the problem?
    Thank you.
    //Elvez

    Hi,
    Looks like your workflow template that is transported is not active. Check the workflow status in the Information Area on the top left in SWDD (below the wokflow template id). It shud be "Active, Saved". If it something else click on the "Activate" button.
    I am not sure if you are allowed to do this directly in Quality. If not allowed try creating the WF template in a new request and try transporting again (U might get one more version generated in quality but this might solve your problem)
    Thanks,
    Prasath N

    Workflow definition of task WS92000077'' CANNOT BE ACTIVATED.
    Pls suggest

    Hello,
    It could be that some objects that it relies on (eg tasks, sub-workflows) haven't been transported.
    Are there any other error messages, eg saying something doesn't exist?
    Did you try to activate it?
    Also, as always, try SWU_OBUF.

  • SharePoint 2013 workflow deployment doens't update workflow definition

    In Visual Studio 2013, we can develop SharePoint 2013 workflow and deploy directly in SharePoint. However, once a workflow is deployed and later modified and redeployed, the modified workflow definition doesn't take effects. Even if you retract the solution
    and redeploy, the associated workflow with the sharepoint solution doesn't get updated in the SharePoint. Retracting the SharePoint solution then restarting the development server and finally redeploying will reset the workflow definition.

    try this link:

  • Workflow - Workflow Definitions Loader request - no parameters

    Hi,
    I'm trying to execute the Workflow Definitions Loader from within Oracle Financials. I logged in SYSADMIN/SYSADMIN and the concurrent request does not request parameters. I went to the menu : Navigate to > Concurrent > Program > Define....no parameters are setup.
    Does anyone know what parameters need to be setup and how.
    best regards, Sotos

    From the Workflow Guide for Embedded Workflow:
    the parameters you need are MODE, FILE, ITEM_TYPE
    As follows:
    To run the Workflow Definitions Loader for the version of Oracle Workflow embedded in Oracle Applications
    1. Navigate to the Submit Requests form in Oracle Applications to submit the Workflow Definitions Loader concurrent program. When you install and set up Oracle Applications and Oracle Workflow, your system administrator needs to add this concurrent program to a request security group for the responsibility that you want to run this program from. See: Overview of Concurrent Programs and Requests, Oracle Applications System Administrator's Guide.
    2. Submit the Workflow Definitions Loader concurrent program as a request. See: Submitting a Request, Oracle Applications User's Guide.
    3. In the Parameters window, enter values for the following parameters:
    Mode Specify "Download" to download a process definition from the database to a flat file.
    Specify "Upgrade" to apply a seed data upgrade to a database from an input file. The Workflow Definitions Loader assumes the access level of the file's creator (seed data provider) and overwrites any objects protected at a level equal to or above the upgrade file's access level. The Loader program preserves any customizations made to customizable seed data in the database.
    Specify "Upload" to load a process definition from a flat file into the database. The upload mode is useful to someone who is developing a workflow process. It allows the developer to save definitions to the database without concern that accidental customizations to existing objects might prevent the upload of some process definition elements. The Workflow Definitions Loader uses the access level defined by the input file to upload the process definitions from the file and therefore will overwrite objects in the database that are protected at a level equal to or higher than that file's access level.
    Specify "Force" to force an upload of the process definitions from an input file to a database regardless of an object's protection level You should be certain that the process definition in the file is correct as it overwrites the entire process stored in the database. The Force mode is useful for fixing data integrity problems in a database with a known, reliable file backup.
    File Specify the full path and name of the file that you want to download a process definition to, or upgrade or upload a process definition from.
    Item Type If you set Mode to "Download", use the List button to choose the item type for the process definition you want to download.
    Note: When you submit the Workflow Definitions Loader from the Submit Requests form to download process definitions to a file, you can only specify to download one item type at a time. If you wish to download multiple or all item types simultaneously, you should submit the Workflow Definitions Loader concurrent program from the command line. See Step 6 below for details.
    4. Choose OK to close the Parameters window.
    5. When you finish modifying the print and run options for this request, choose Submit to submit the request.
    6. Rather than use the Submit Requests form, you can also run the Workflow Definitions Loader concurrent program from the command line by entering the following commands:
    To upgrade-- WFLOAD apps/pwd 0 Y UPGRADE file.wft
    To upload-- WFLOAD apps/pwd 0 Y UPLOAD file.wft
    To force-- WFLOAD apps/pwd 0 Y FORCE file.wft
    To download-- WFLOAD apps/pwd 0 Y DOWNLOAD file.wft ITEMTYPE1 [ITEMTYPE2 ...ITEMTYPEN]
    Replace apps/pwd with username and password to the APPS schema, replace file.wft with the file specification of a workflow process definition file, and replace ITEMTYPE1, ITEMTYPE2, ... ITEMTYPEN with the one or more item type(s) you want to download. You can also download all item types simultaneously by replacing ITEMTYPE1 with '*' (make sure you enclose the asterisk in single quotes).
    A file specification is specified as:
              @<application_short_name>:[<dir>/.../]file.ext
    or
              <native path>

  • Issue with Inactive Approver Role in Workflow definition

    Hi Experts,
    we are having issue with Inactive Approver Role in workflow definitions.
    we have created workflow for Master agreements and Projects. Phases and workflow are working fine.
    But the issue is when a programmatically added approver has completed the approval activity, collaborator role is not changing from approver role to Inactive Approver Role mentioned in workflow definition. For example, you might select Reviewer in Inactive Approver Role, Then Selected collaborator role to be given to programmatically added approvers when the approval activity is completed.
    This is functionality not happening when project or contract document approved and workflow completed in project and MA. we have followed all the standard functionality when we have created workflow. Please see screen shot for the same.
    Can anyone please tell me is there any functionality we missed it or do we need to write any script in xpdl or do we need to check anything with collaborator role or with security profiles.
    we have checked with other roles also same issue coming.
    This Reviewer is in active state and have Readonly profile. We don't have Pre script in this workflow because we are using standard approval.
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks gary for your helpful answer.
    As per your answer We have added the approver role in the prescript so that it gets added programmatically , still no luck.

  • No workflow definitions returned

    Hi,
    I'm attempting to write a simple test application to list the workflow definitions on a SharePoint Online site. I've tried both a provider hosted CSOM and JSOM approach and I cannot get any definitions listed. The CSOM approach is standard code
    as follows..
    public ActionResult About()
    User spUser = null;
    var spContext = SharePointContextProvider.Current.GetSharePointContext(HttpContext);
    using (var clientContext = spContext.CreateUserClientContextForSPHost())
    if (clientContext != null)
    WorkflowServicesManager wfServicesManager = new WorkflowServicesManager(clientContext, clientContext.Web);
    WorkflowDeploymentService wfDeploymentService = wfServicesManager.GetWorkflowDeploymentService();
    WorkflowDefinitionCollection wfDefinitions = wfDeploymentService.EnumerateDefinitions(false);
    clientContext.Load(wfDefinitions);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder();
    foreach (var def in wfDefinitions)
    builder.AppendLine("Workflow" + def.DisplayName);
    ViewBag.Message = builder.ToString();
    return View();
    I've created and deployed both Sharepoint 2010 approval workflows and 2013 list based workflows and a site workflow and non of the definitions show up.
    My JSOM and CSOM apps run fine in every other respect but no workflows are listed. Any idea greatly appreciated..
    Thanks
    Nigel

    Hi,
    Thanks for the response. I believe I am using the 2013 workflow code accessing the api on SharePoint Online. The code on this link just accesses a different api within the 2013 workflow api. I did try this code and got an Access Denied exception which is
    a step forward. Before I was getting no response at all but unfortunately it's not the solution.
    Thanks and Regards
    Nigel
