Workflow - document from template step not working properly

Hi All,
We are creating a document from the step "Document from a template" in our workflow .
This document is then given to the user as an attachment to a user decision step where he modifies that document.
These modifications to the document are stored in the workflow.
However if i want to give the same document to another user in another user decision, it gives only a read-only copy to him. Is this how a document from a template works or is there some bug in my coding or a possible workaround

Hi Amit,
Have you tried option from menu Document -> load other version , when user opens work item for document from template?
I think this should serve the purpose of making document editable for other users.

Create new document from current state not working

Hey, everyone. I'm using Photoshop CS6 (ccloud) on Windows 7 and I just noticed something weird. Often when I'm working on an image that I want to duplicate, I'll click on the create new document from current state icon at the bottom of the history panel and a new image identical to it will open up as expected.
Lately, though, every once in a while, when I click it, I'll get a new image that's not identical. It'll be a few states behind and I don't know why. It's never happened before and I'm not doing anything differently when it happens. I recently ran the CS6 update via ccloud, but I can't recall now if this started happening right before that or exclusively afterward.
In case my issue's not clear, let's say I create a blank image, add a background color, add a layer of text, add a drop shadow to the text, then mask it. When I click the create new document from current state icon, instead of creating a new image that's a duplicate of that one, it will create new one where all that's there is the background color and text and all the other steps of adding a drop shadow and mask aren't there as if I hadn't done it yet.
I make sure that I'm not clicking anywhere else in the history panel and like I said, this just happens at what seems like random times with random images. I've even tried saving an image, closing it, opening it again and immediately clicking that icon and it'll still create a new document that has missing states.
Any idea what's going on?

Yep, that existed in CS5 as well.
We'll log a bug on it.

Importing photos from Photo Stream not working properly

I've been trying to work out a way to import photos on my iMac and have Photo Stream push them to my MacBook so they end up in the same Event on both computers. If I have Automatic Upload turned on, the photos I import on my iMac get uploaded to Photo Stream before I get a chance to place them into my intended Event. So I tried turning Auto Upload off, importing photos, placing them into their proper Event, turning Auto Upload back on, and then dragging them to Photo Stream to upload them.
First, it seems like there should be an easier way. But also unfortunately, even though Help in iPhoto 11 (9.2) seems to say this should work (see below), my photos end up in my MacBook's Photo Stream folder, but not in the Event (with Automatic Import turned on on my MacBook). This is what is written in the Help documentation -
Note: If iPhoto automatically imports a Photo Stream photo that was originally uploaded from a different iPhoto library, or from an Aperture library, iPhoto adds the photo to the Event that matches the one in the original library. If a matching Event isn’t in the destination library, iPhoto creates a new Event with the same name.
I wasn't able to find the photos anywhere in my MacBook Events. As indicated in the note above, they should have been automatically placed in a matching Event of the iMac's library. Any help is much appreciated.

Ever since I went to the cloud all of my new photos have show up in photo stream. I had hoped it would sync and update the events in Photos, no luck. I also uploaded a numbers document to iWork and and could only access it through Safari. The only option I had to actually open it on my iPad was 'open in iBooks'. Really! There's been other occasions of rocky starts so I hope iCloud improves. It has too.

Rollover slidelet from captivate 4 not working properly in 5

hey guys,
I'm using rollover slidelet for a presentation that shows video that is convereted to the proper file type. I've uploaded to my site an it works fine. But when I put the file into 5 the videos do not play when I put it on my site just can hear the audio. I've made sure the skin is uploaded properly. What could be the problem. I've also noticed when i go from 4 to 5 some of my captions have to be expanded in 5 to show all of the text. Can someone please help me out with this....i can't figure this out.

Let me explain this better. When I click on an audio clip in the timeline I get this prompt:
No default transition to add. Please set a default transition in the Effects Tab in the Browser before performing this command.
I've never had to do this before, so I wonder if anyone knows why this suddenly is happening?

"Edit templates" feature not working properly for web apps in Dreamweaver CS6?

This is along with the web apps tag list not appearing in the Data tab of the Business Catalyst side palette.
However, it works fine with the existing announcement module.
Is this feature unavailable for use with web apps, or am I doing something wrong?

We have a bug that prevents correct web app matching if the web app name contains ' ' (space), + (plus), '(', ')', '[', ']' .
In order to work around the bug please remove space, plus or parentheses from the webapp name.

Update Pages from template CS6 not working

I have just begun to create a website and as yet only have four pages each created from a template. When I add a menu item to the Spry Menu Bar in the template this appears to be successful. However,when I try to update the pages created from the modified main template the log file reports:
Files examined 4
Files updated 0
Files which could not be updated 0
the settings are for "Files that use ... main template, and the Templates box is ticked. All that pages I want to update are also listed when I try to update them. It's just that they're not getting updated. Has anybody got any suggestions as to where I am going wrong? Thanks.

im having a similar issue...updated our template many times before and had dw update the pages and pages are not updating...even when dw says its been updated!! starting to loose my mind a little as dw checked out 80% of the pages on our site, but did not update.
strange thing is when i open up the individual pages i can change the bit in the template that should not be editable. looked at the template and cannot figure out what happened.

"reopen all windows from last session" not working properly

Sometimes I will hit a wrong tab and lose all the tabs and pages I am working on. But when I hit "Reopen All Windows from Last Session" in History, I either get pages from months ago, or some nonsense that Apple is apparently trying to get me to buy. All I want is my old work up. How can I get them back quickly and easily (which is what I thought "Reopen All Windows..." was supposed to do)?

File transfer from FAT disk not working properly

Hi all,
I have a MacPro with 4 HDD, one of them partitioned with a 300 GB FAT disk.
Using BOOTCAMP / VISTA 64 I copied files to this disk, but I can't access these folders without errors. Reformatting of the partition didn't solve the problem, somehow I keep getting sort of time outs while accessing the drive.
In brief:
- if I try to copy files from the FAT partition onto a HFS+ partition I often get breakdowns, the copy process is stopped due to read errors
- same if I want to write on the disk

File is timeline in Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 on PowerPC.
Isn't Final Cut Pro a Mac program and not likely to be compatible on a windows computer? What is a PowerPC?

Unlocked IPhone 4 from Apple is not working properly on Rogers

I bought IPhone 4 bacjk in May 2011 from Apple was Unlocked. I am using it on Rogers. Since I have updated to IOS 5.0. I am having a weared problem. I daily commute to downtown Toronto using Subway. When I come to Street level and waited for sometimes 2 hours My phone says searching or no signals. I have tried everything per Rogers It is a hardware issue so Apple swopped my phone 3 times. I have changed my SIM card two times. No luck. I have tried enabling 3G on or Off or aeroplane mode On & Off as well. Evertime I need to swicth my phone Off and On to get back to Network. Yeaterday I was at Rogers store they told me because I have bought it unlocked from Apple it did not have the settings and Rogers software on it that might be causing the issue. Any help on this will be appreciated...

Deleting mail from the server - not working properly

Hello all,
I usually remove all spam from the mail server as soon as it comes in to avoid it arriving in all our office mailboxes.
Since upgrading to Leopard, I've run into some hickups.
After going to apple-i, I select the spam messages, click on 'delete from server', confirm this in the pop-up window... after which nothing happens. While I should get an updated list of messages on the server, and a new number and size of messages in the bottom left corner.
I sometimes have to repeat the procedure two or more times before the selected messages are deleted.
Anyone else having the same problem?

Document sets and search not working properly

Hello,
I'm having some problems with the search function within my document library.
I have three kind of Content type Document sets:
Project A, Project B and Project C.
In my document library i have the following Document sets.
Project 1 | Project A document set
Project 2 | Project B document set
Project 3 | Project B document set
Project 4 | Project C document set
Project 5 | Project A document set
With the search function i can only find Project 2,3 and 4. The Content type document set (Project A, B and C) are all the same.
I already did a full crawl of search. Anyone any idea's what is the cause of this problem. I need to fix this before Friday, because of a presentation i need to do for school.
Hope you guys can help me out!

I've done a full crawl, but it had no effect. The Log shows nothing strange...
Or is it because i'm using . in the names?

1)Open the PC application by choosing the entry Double-click to create in the Document templates tray by double-clicking or choose in the step definition of the document generation.
The PC application that you last used to create a template is opened in the Workflow Builder. The system fields and the container elements of the workflow container are offered for selection in the navigation area. They can be transferred into the template by double-clicking.
You cannot use any multiline container elements in your template.
All relationships created between container elements/system fields and the document template are displayed in the object area.
It is not possible to insert system fields and container elements into all types of document template.
2) If you want to create a document template of a different class, select Change document class and choose the new type of document template.
3) Select to assign a name for the document template.
4) Create the document template in the usual way in your PC application. You can use all the functions of the PC application.
5) Insert container elements and/or system fields from the object area into your template by double-clicking. These fields are replaced with the content of the container elements/system fields at runtime.
6) Select to save your document template.

Issue with Document from Template

I am using a Document from Template step to display a set of records in my Workflow. For this i have a created a template of type excel sheet and i have linked the multi line container element from my workflow to this template. But i am not able the view the records in
sequence.Lets say my multi line container element has the following 2 records:
WEATH_ZONE     02/01/2008     03/31/2008     ABC
BACKACST        03/01/2008        03/31/2008        123
Once i execute my Workflow i am getting the values appended in a
single row in excel sheet as follows.
WEATH_ZONEBACKACST     ABC123     02/01/200803/01/2008     03/31/200803/31/2008
But i need them in the same format as above.Please let me know how i can solve this issue.
BTW I have done the linking in the template as follows where Str is my multil ine container element and the values after dot is my fields.
{&STR.OPERAND&}     {&STR.UDEFVAL1&} {&STR.FROMDATE&}     {&STR.DUEDATE&}

This workaround worked for me:
You need to enter manually a ## behind your element.
For example if your multiline element is :
{&BUS2012.REPORTDESCRIPTION&}
You need to insert a ## in the element (in the word-document), like this:
{&BUS2012.REPORTDESCRIPTION##&} .

Importing element definition from an EDD into a template - does not work

FM 10.0.1 German on Windows XP SP3.
When importing the element definitions from an existing EDD into an existing template, FrameMaker converts the template into a new EDD.
So the element definitions which are correctly defined do not appear in the template.
The highest level element is than ElementCatalog in the template and not the higherst lvel element defined in the EDD.
In FM9 this was no issue.
Any help is appreciated, I have a deadline and must do some changes in the EDD.

EDD is english (Version FM7.0), Interface language is German.
Maybe it´s a localization issue.
I have attached a captivate demo pdf so you can see what happens and the
defective EDD.

No question the behavior you describe is a bug. However, I am unable to
duplicate it. I created an EDD with two element definitions:
Element (Container): doc
Valid as the highest-level element.
General rule: (
When I imported element definitions from this EDD into a new portrait
document, FM reports that element a is referenced but not defined and that
b is defined but not referenced. However, with all elements listed, the
element catalog shows a, b, and doc. The metatemplate elements are not
available.
I wonder if this is a language-dependent problem. Is your EDD German or
English? What about your user interface?
Can you send me a short EDD that fails as you've described?
