Workflow extraction to BW

hi gurus!
is it possible to load data from workflow process in transaction system to BW?
Please confirm if your solution allows reports to be run showing the workflow states, are these configurable, can they be changed. Please provide any example reports you might have

Hi.
Yes, you can extract workflow data, but you have to build your own extractor.
You would have to know the workflow IDs, task IDs, etc of what you want to report on and depending on how records get update in the source, you can basically make most things happen, fx approval flows for purchase orders, incoming invoices, etc.

16:9 Help needed. Workflow: extracted video from DVD, FCE HD edit & DVDSP.

Hi,
I have a project where according to the camera person it was shot in 16:9 with the camera (assuming a DV camcorder of some sort). It was captured from the camera and converted to a DVD (VIDEO_TS folder and everything) and sent to me for editing.
What I need help with is a workflow (and settings) to edit and output this properly.
1) My first hiccup comes in the extract. When I view the DVD that was sent to me, the video looks squished as it squeezes the video into the 4:3 aspect ratio. I was using MPEG Streamclip to extract it. I've extracted it in a 16:9 QT format and it looks fine in FCE HD. However, once I started reading more about editing 16:9 video in the FCE PDF manual, I'm wondering if I should have kept it as 4:3 and then toggled the Anamorphic setting for the sequence.
2) Once I have the correct source to edit - are there any considerations on export for compression? I read somewhere about a program to set the anamorpgic bit for iDVD, but plan to use DVDSP so I'm assuming I can skip this step. I also read in the forum about a QT Conversion setting to use. Do I need to? I was planning to export a reference movie and use Compressor with that. I was planning to use a "Widescreen" compressor option. Is this correct?
3) I know this is beyond this forum, but any advice on what settings should I use in producing the DVD? As noted above I plan to use DVDSP 3 to create the DVD, and I do notice the 16:9 settings in there for each track. I was planning to use the 16:9 Letterbox track setting. Is this correct?
Any other pitfalls I should be aware of as I navigate the 16:9 jungle?

First, with regard to your chipset - graphics/video card:

Your graphics card has no video RAM (VRAM) of its own. So, it must use some of your system RAM to be able to function. This is 'dynamically allocated'. That is, your system decides how much system RAM to allocate to the graphics card. I am not aware of anyway to manually control this.
Next, you said you have installed Windows XP. Toshiba India has not posted any XP drivers for your system. Toshiba laptops are very finicky about using Toshiba 'tweaked' hardware drivers to be able to function properly. This computer is a Toshiba European version of your model, and it would appear to have a full set of XP drivers, these will work just fine in your system:

The order you load the hardware drivers and Toshiba utilities is critical. The files available for download above are all zip files, so you will have to extract the .exe files to be able to install them. Install the drivers first, then the Toshiba utilities, and given that you already have XP basically working install in this order:
1st Drivers:
1) Chipset
2) Storage Manager
3) Display
4) Sound
5) then all other XP hardware drivers
2nd Utilities:
1) Common modules
2) Hotkey utility
3) all other XP Toshiba utilities.

JMS header properties are null

Hi all,
At sending messages to the internal WLI event queue from a client application
I get the following problem:
I set a application specific jms header property via the setStringProperty method.
An event node in the receiving workflow extracts the property with EventAttribute.
The event node gets the message but the header property is always null. I tried
various sorts of property names, none of them works. Only the real jms header
names which are set by the send method give non null values, but I cannot set
these in the client application.
Any ideas?

I have got it working here is how i did it.
- transport header add a user defined name and value, it get added to outbound transport header.
- at receiving end. retrieve it using for/each loop for inbound header user properties.

Sharepoint 2013 online - Site problem - Recently changed list

Hi All,
I'm trying to add Recently changed content WebPart to my site on Sharepoint 2013. Standard setup no customizations just plain simple site with one document library and notes. All seems fine with adding content to page, saving and so on. But when I want to
preview / view my site there are no elements on Recently changed list although in properties of webpart when I modify query and go directly to Test - all is fine and results are there. Probably there is small switch that I'm not aware of to turn this list
on. Anyone can help?

Hi,
As my understanding, you want to extract InfoPath form attachment into a SharePoint library.
For SharePoint Designer, there is no SharePoint actions to extract InfoPath attachment into a SharePoint library. As a workaround, you can develop a custom workflow activity to do it.
Or, you can find a third party solution to achieve it.

Auto numbering in Discussion Board List

Hi All ,
We have a requirement to auto generate number for each discussion in the Discussion board, Number should running sequence & should not repeat ever.
initially thought of using ID field for it , But numbering is not sequential because of replies, if we add any reply to discussion , reply is using next sequential number . for example.

How to use xPath to extract a element from a xml stringin BPEL workflow?

I have a xml string passed into the BPEL workflow, and I need to extract the value of "serviceOrderGuid" (see the xml string below), how I can use BPEL mapper to do this? I am using NetBeans 6.0/M10.

Not able to extract installation files from downloaded file of workflow ser

Hi all
I have downloaded Oracle workflow Server installation file , Version 2.6.3 for Solaris Operating System ( SPARC 64 bit ) , but not able to extract installation files out of it as it is having .cpio extension .
I have tried the following options:
$ gunzip wf263sol64.cpio.gz
gunzip: wf263sol64.cpio.gz: No such file or directory
$ cpio -idmv < wf263sol64.cpio
cpio: Existing "Disk1/stage/Components/oracle.workflow/2.6.3.0.0/1/DataFiles/xml

Extraction of Workflow Approver

Hello,
We need to extract information about who is the approver for a workflow object.
Any information you can provide will be appreciated.
Specifically, we need to determine who is designated to approve an SRM shopping cart. We've run SQL trace (ST05) when calling up the approver using the SRM web application, but the results are very difficult to understand -- probably because workflow is a generic process and used by a lot of SAP applications. Lack of a SAP-GUI front-end makes things a lot more difficult.

Extract interactive form attachment from workflow workitem

Hi Friends,
I created a Webdynpro Java application which has an interactive form.
The user fills out the form, and submits.
The submission action triggers a simple workflow and adds the interactive form as an attachment to the workitem. (Using SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW and SAP_WAPI_ATTACHMENT_ADD)
The new task shows up in UWL with the attached pdf form.
When user clicks the on the task in UWL, I want to launch another web dynpro application which will read the workitem id and get and display the interactive form in the web dynpro java application.
How do I extract the interactive pdf form from workflow in binary format?
so that I can display the form in my Web dynpro java application and bind it to the pdfSource context??

I thought I could just call the SAP_WAPI_GET_ATTACHMENTS, however this only returns some docId information for example:

How to extract an sap workflow reports in BW.
My Scenario is : I have a task in WF. i want to extract the status of the task(by giving from date - To date or by giving user name) as a report in BW.
Can anyone help me or provide me some inputs to solve this problem.
One more thing. I am completely new to BW.

Workflow to extract artist metadata within an mp4 movie

When I add an mp4 file to a document library, I would like to be able to run a workflow to get the artist name out of the file and I'll set a column with that.
I may want to get other fields at a later point, but I need to know how to start this process

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use workflow to extract embedded metadata from a video file to SharePoint 2010.
Per my knowledge, there is not an OOB way to achieve it. You can get the embedded metadata using programming.

Recording narration on tape - extracting audio only - workflow suggestions?

I have a bunch of students who are recording their narration tracks onto tape via a camcorder.
What is the best workflow to get these clips with audio only into iMovie 08?
Presently, we are capturing all the clips iMovie 08, then using Movie Tools Convert to AIFF droplet, dragging the aiff's into iTunes and accessing them in iMovie from iTunes.
Alternative suggestions? There are lots of narration clips and lots of students working in a noisy computer lab, so direct recording is really not a good choice here.
Don't have QTPro on the computers.
If I'm doing the CMD+Shift drag technique correctly, you must drop the clip ONTO an existing clip to get the audio separated from the video.
There is no way to extract the audio any other way in iMovie 08?
Is the better workflow to install iMovie 06 and use it's Extract Audio feature?
There would still be several steps to getting the extracted tracks into iMovie 08.

the 'Export with Quicktime..' option allows you to choose 'Aiff' as option.. that exports the audio-only of any project..
so, one option of workflow is: import camcorder-narrations into an Event, create Project, Export As Aiff, (process in Garageband), and the usage of iTunes is in my opinion a very clever way.. (using Playlist to organize audio before usage in iM) ..
another way is, to do all audio work in Garageband.. which is the intended workflow in iLife08.. edit in iM08, 'share', and do all audio in GB ..
consider to install iMHD6 on one computer as 'audio workstation': import tapes into an iMHD6 project, Export as Aiff, share those audio files to other Macs (LAN, usb sticks) - a good naming scheme is of paramount importance

Extract interactive form from workflow attachment

I have a multi-step approval process where you want to store the data in
the
backend only after final approval. (requestor >> expert >> approver)
I developed a WDJ app with Interactive forms that triggers Business
Workflow...
I created a Webdynpro Java application which contains an interactive form
for the Requestor.
The Requestor fills out the form, and submits. The submission action
triggers a simple workflow and adds the interactive form as an attachment
to
the workitem. (Using SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW and
SAP_WAPI_ATTACHMENT_ADD)
The new task shows up in UWL with the attached pdf form.
When the approver clicks on the task in UWL it will launch a web dynpro
application which will display the interactive form.
How do I extract the interactive pdf form from workflow?
I want to display the form in my Web dynpro java application and bind
it to the pdfSource context??

Can we know the reason why do you need to extract the Interactive Form from Workflow.When you are calling the workflow try to save the form in a shared folder and save the url of the shared folder in a field and try to acces it by using SAP Activity.You can create a button for that create an SAP activity and when you click on the button the Interactive Form can be opened.

Extract processing-instruction in workflow

I am trying to extract an XML Processing Instruction from some input XML in a WLI
Workflow. Using the XPATH wizard I have constructed the expression, but this just
returns an empty string when used in the workflow.
Has anybody successfully extracted the processing instruction? and set a workflow
variable, or is there a different method of getting at it?
