Workflow gets stuck at a step

Hi Gurus,
I have a scenario where an employee submits his trip expenses and a workflow gets triggered thenafter. The workflow should then send an email to his supervior for a review. The supervisor has no actions to perform here and he will only receive an email.
But the workflow gets stuck at that particular step meant for the email generation and the supervisor is not getting any emails(found from SWI1).
The step has a method used where an FM is called and 2 parameters(Emp ID & Trip No) are passed to it.
But due to some reason the fields are not poupulated with data.
There are no binding errors.
In fact we are using the object-key- parameters so that the data should be captured.
The FM while testing is generating emails as viewed from SCOT.
I have no idea of what more to check in this case.
Please help me. Its too urgent.
Regards,
Binay.

  • Background step in workflow remains in process: Workflow gets stuck up

    Hi Gurus,
    I have custom workflow for organization management. The workflow takes information from e-forms(notifications) and updates the infotypes.
    The step which updates infotypes is run as background step.However in some cases the workflow gets stuck up in this step.
    This happens irregularly (once or twice in a month).
    On processing these workflow instances using SWPC , nothing happens and the workflow remains stuck up in the same step.
    Also checked for dumps but nothing available under WF-BATCH.There is no regular pattern for occurance of these instances.
    Can you please suggest what can be the possible cause of them getting stuck up in the background task.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Check ST22 shortdumps again. Look not only for WF-BATCH but also look for the intitator or the last processor's ID. Sometimes they would be the assigned the user to execute the step ecven if it's a background task.
    Also, I would suggest looking through the code of the method that is being executed carefully. Make sure there are no 'EXIT' or LEAVE' statements. This could also 'sometimes' cause the background process not to return correctly. In addition, check that you are not executing an ever lasting loop.
    If you have access in PRODUCTION, try to execute the method in debug mode to see where the program is inappropriately stopping (t-code SWO1).

    i have video files that finish downloading but get stuck at the step called processing file

    I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

  • Eternity Long Syncing, Getting Stuck On Last Step

         Okay, I have tried and tried to solve this problem on my own and I am just at a dead end here. One time I was happy with having music on my iPod Touch 5 until all of a sudden the music would not show up on there anymore. I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing the same thing, having their playlist come up gray-colored with that dotted circle next to it and having it say that it is in the storage in blue but not really on your iPod/iPhone. The real problem I see for me at least it that it does not quite finish the syncing process. It'll get stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied" and well one time last night i left my iPod on that step over night into 9am this morning and STILL on that last step. No music. This is the same for my iPhone 5s. Although at one point I was able to manually grab a song from my playlist and drag to my phone and it'll be on there but that stopped too. Any new songs I manually drag to the phone will show up in that grayed color, but the blue storage part on the bottom part accounts for it, but its not on the phone/pod. The only problem I can spot as of right now is that its not "completely" getting done with syncing. And yes I have tried many alternatives; I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled back in the proper way (in case this helps I do have a Windows 7 computer), I've rebooted my iPod 5 and iPhone 5s before syncing, I have un-check marked the "Sync Music" and re-checked it back (That also never gets done syncing, so I just cancel it), I even restored my iPod as new just to see if it'll get music on there and well it didn't work (I was thinking that something corrupted could have been on the iPod as well as in the back-up so I did that and no improvments. I didnt do this for my iPhone yet.), and yes this iTunes is authorized with this computer. I don't know what else to do, this could either be my iPod, the computer, iTunes (I have the 11.1.4) or the dock connector messed up. I just want that syncing to be finished!!! Can someone please help me out so I can listen to music on my iPod again. Thank you!
         Also as additional information, it only shows the songs I've bought off of iTunes, rather than the ones I have on my computer. The majority of my playlist came from my computer and I have it in the "My Documents", I have 540 songs total.

  • Workflow gets deleted but dependant steps are not deleted

    Hi Experts,
    When OMR_DELETED event of BOR object ECO is raised, as per design the workflow instance is logically deleted. But all the dependant steps of the workflow are not getting deleted logically.
    Why is this happening?I mean why workitems generated for child steps are not deleted when parent workflow instance is logically deleted?
    Thanks,
    Sonali.

    Hi,
    as per design the workflow instance is logically deleted. But all the dependant
    steps of the  workflow are not getting deleted logically.
    Are you using wait to delete logically or through Function Module. Can you tell where you doing this.

  • My phone isnt syncing- gets stuck backing up step 2

    i am trying to sync my 4s phone but it seems to be stuck on step 2 backing up.
    also have changed my apple id in itunes but if i try to buy an app on phone my old id shows up so password inactive>  does anyone know how to update the id on phone?

    Delete the latest backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices and try again to sync. If iTunes can't read the backup in order to replace it, the sync will stop at step two.
    Log out of the Store in Settings/Store on your old phone, restart the device and log in with your new Apple ID.

  • Workflow Process stuck in Active status

    Hi,
    My workflow stuck in Active status and user is not able to proceed further. But it is not happening every time. Sometimes the process activty gets stuck. Could anyone please let me know the reason for this behaviour and how to fix this issue?
    Thanks

    You need to get more information as to what is going on, identify more facts around the issue:
    1. First off, run wfstat.sql to get a history of the activities of the process as well as its attribute values.
    2. Once the workflow gets 'stuck' what makes it progress? For instance, does running the background engine with parameter Stuck processes=Yes fix the problem?
    3. Are there activities deferred that do not get process by the background engine?
    4. Does the process get stuck after a notification is responded to but 'nothing' happens?
    It would also be useful to have the complete DB version.
    Regards,
    Alejandro

  • Getting stuck on isClosed()

    I can't figure out for the life of me why this would be occurring. I call the open statement, and it runs the query without any issues what so ever. It gets to the this.resultSet.last() and tries to operate, but it gets stuck. I stepped inside of the this.resultSet.last() method, and found out that it's getting stuck specifically on the this.jdbc.getConnection().isClosed(). It runs just fine when this.jdbc.getConnection().isClosed() gets called in teh open, but comes to a dead stop right when it hits the same line in last(). After a certain amount of time passes, it eventually throws an Outofmemory exception. Any one happen to have an idea of what would or could be causing this? Any and all information would be useful. Thanks.

    At least tidy up that horrible nested method. Try this:
    public synchronized boolean last() {
       try {
          if (!(jdbc instanceof MRxJDBC)) {
             debug("last()", "", "The MRXJDBC as not been instantiated.", "");
             return false;
          if (!(jdbc.getConnection() instanceof java.sql.Connection)) {
             debug("last()", "", "No sql connection", "");
             return false;
          if (jdbc.getConnection().isClosed()) {
             debug("last()", "", "The connection is not open", "");
             return false;
          if (!(resultSet instanceof ResultSet)) {
             debug("last()", "", "No results returned.", "");
             return false;
          if (!resultSet.last()) {
             debug("last()", "", "No records returned.", "");
             return false;
          assign();
          debug("last()", "Record "+resultSet.getRow()+" of "+count+" returned.", "", "");
          return true;
       } catch (Exception ex) {
          debug("last()", "", ex.toString(), "");
          return false;
    }What is "MRXJDBC" and are you sure it doesn't do pooling? Are you absolutely certain that the jdbc connection you pass in is the same as the jdbc field that you access in the above code?

  • Itunes stuck syncing at step 2 of 7

    Itunes gets stuck syncing at step 2. It won't go further, and my music library is different on the MacBook Pro from the phone. What can I do?

    I had this problem.  I held down the power switch to power down completely.  Takes a few seconds.  Then use the power switch to turn on.  Might take a couple goes.

  • Workflow stuck between 2 steps

    Hi ,
    I have a workflow which is getting stuck between the two steps, not at any particular step and in one of the instances the workitem number of the previous step is showing zero. I checked ST22 but there are no related dumps. Can some one advise on this scenario.
    Thanks,
    Vikas

    Hi,
    >>I have a workflow which is getting stuck between the two steps, not at any particular step>>
    What do you mean by not at any particular step? by the way, what is the current status of your workflow? and also current status of last step in your workflow?
    Make sure All Basic Workflow Customizations are correctly set, check SWU3 and correct if any problems there.
    Good Luck !!

  • IPhoto '11 (9.3) - Won't upgrade library after update to 9.3 (gets stuck on Step 5)

    Two weeks ago I upgraded iPhoto to 9.3 using the automatic Apple updater.  Thereafter, when I try to re-start iPhoto, iPhoto automatically attempts to upgrade the library using multiple steps.  Each time the process gets stuck on one of the steps, hanging for as long as I'd let it.  Force quit doesn't show the process/application as not responding, but I can kill the applicaiton and try again.
    I see this is a somewhat common occurrence (for example, here), but I haven't yet found a solution that works, at least not for me.
    Since this problem has started occurring, the process tends to get stuck at the end of step 5:
    I have tried multiple solutions, including holding down alt/option or control when starting iPhoto for force a rebuild of the library (same result).  I reinstalled iPhoto from the App store (same result).  I went back to a version of my iPhoto library from before the problem started using a Time Machine backup of the iPhoto Library (same result).  And in response to some threads suggesting removing the files like com.apple.iPhoto.plist (see here) but I can't find any "com.apple.iPhoto.*" files on my HD.  Interestingly (maybe) I don't have a HD -> Users -> Home -> Library directory at all.  I only have a HD -> Library directory (although perhaps this is where it shows up for my primary account when I'm using this account).
    I'd be very grateful for any help/suggestions/guidance.
    For example, is there a log file showing the date that I upgraded to the newest iPhoto release so I can be sure I'm restoring an older iPhoto library?  Any other ideas?
    Many thanks!
    -DJg

    I have try to do few things like rebuild library, intalling old version etc. at the end always i got images and events but I loose folders and albums.
    So finally
    I bought external drive to make a copy of my images
    I found my old backup of MAC OS X before upgrade to Lion and install them
    All folers are existing so now I can imoprt only images from last two months and rearrange them into folders.
    I will stay with version 9.2.3 and wait at least 1-2 month before I will install any new update from Apple.
