Workflow ID not created.

Hi All,
I am using a workflow to create a material in the test environment. When i create the event, the workflow ID is not getting created. The workflow ID shows as "00000000" everytime. The same workflow is working perfectly fine in Development and production. Could someone please help me out with this?
Note: The test environment was refreshed with production data 2 months back.(Not usre of this could be one of the reasons).

Can you check whether the Work Flow item is modified in the ABAP Stack and also try out this
a)Start transaction SXI_CACHE.
b)From the context menu XI Runtime Cache select Start Complete Cache Refresh.
If you still face issue try this .
Many actions require to access System Landscape Directory content from the Integration Builder. To optimize performance, this content is loaded into a cache so that the System Landscape Directory does not have to be accessed directly each time that System Landscape Directory content is required.
However, this cache is not automatically updated if changes are made to the content of the System Landscape Directory. For this reason that we delete the System Landscape Directory cache if changes have been made to content in the System Landscape Directory. The cache is then filled each time that the System Landscape Directory is accessed. If we log on to the Integration Builder after we have made a change in the SLD, we do not need to delete the SLD cache.
To clear the SLD cache, from the Integration Builder main menu, choose Environment ® Delete Cache for SLD Data.
Once we have deleted the cache for SLD data, accessing objects in the SLD may take longer than usual initially.

Workflow Item not created while processing draft PO from SOCO

Dear SAP SRM Experts,
In SRM 7.0, I've a scenario where I create a PO draft in sourcing.
In the 3step of the GAF, I've the option to
1. Edit the PO and order it.
2. Directly process the PO draft to create a PO..
While in case one the WF item is created with status awaiting approval, in the second case (when I directly process the draft) the workflow item is not created but the status is still 'Awaiting Approval' !!.
Use of PC workflow is done and the PO is not auto approved.
Any pointer regarding this would be very helpful.
The call stack is way different between the first step and second.
My understanding is if there is some error in the follow on PO, the work item would not be created. But the SC in soco is similar and while in first case it does create the workitem in second case it doesn't.
When does the decision to create workflow item is decided in second case?

Thanks for your inputs.
The problem has been identified. The error is because the vendors are deleted completly from the system. And those were earlier used in shopping cart as preffered vendor. Thats why the system is throwing the error message.
As we can not process this SC further we want to delete this SC (line item). But again while deleting the SC the system is throwing the error message . "Business partner xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx not found." Thus its not allowing us to delete the SC.
Do you have any ideas how we can delete the SC line items, or SC ? Any FM ?

Workflow agent not created

We are using employee workflow for last 1 year and there was no problem in using workflow to send the mail
to the supervisor of the person, when the person is hired. This week we got the problem for the first time. In the employee workflow task, the agent was not found (or created), so other task of employee mail was never started. Normally it uses the rule EVALUATE_AGENT_VIA_RULE to get the agent name in the employee workflow but this time this rule
was not called and so no mail was sent to the supervisor. I'm not sure if this is SAP bug or some problem with the customization. I am attaching the successful workflow log and failed workflow log for comparision.

Changes to Workflow Template not creating a Transport

I have a workflow in DEV that I thought had been transported to TST, but it must have been inadvertantly overlooked. I am now trying to create a transport to move this template to TST. I make a minor change to the template and I am not prompte to create a new transport.
We have checked all of the outstanding transports and this template is not found in any of them.
Is there a way to force a transport on the workflow template so I can transport it to TST?

Hi,
You can check what was the last version modified by SAP in the version history( In BASIC DATA) itself revert it to that level...
... but one thing i missed last time... hope you have not changed any version independent thing related to this workflow like bindings, task definitions etc... In that case those changes won't be reverted back... you will have to check the consistency of the workflow once you revert back...

Can register workflow but not create workflow

I registered workflow manager with my site and status in
Workflow Service Application Proxy is "connected"
but when I open my site with SharePoint designer 2013 and will create site workflow, it show message like workflow platform don't configured.
Do anybody have way to fix it?

Do you want to configure workflow for SharePoint 2013 with SharePoint Designer 2013 ?
You should make sure the followings that you have done:
1、 Installing and configuring workflow for SharePoint Server 2013
2、 Installing Windows Azure Workflow certificates in SharePoint Server 2013
If the error still exists, you can try to do as the followings:
1、 Open the CA, and click Backup and Restore
2、 Click Perform a back under Farm Backup and Restore
3、 Select the Workflow Service application with proxies, select Full backup type, then start backup
4、 Click Application Management on the left Quick Lunch, click Manage service application
5、 On the Manage Service Application page, click the row that contains the Workflow Service application, the ribbon becomes available
6、 On the ribbon, click delete
7、 After the above, you can run commandlet Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite <SPSitePipeBind> -WorkflowHostUri <string> -AllowOAuthHttp by using PowerShell

Issue in Workflow - Records not created at times

Hi All,
We are using oracle workflow. I am facing an issue in live at times. Here in my case a procedure is called from a workflow function which in turn inserts records in a table automatically.
Some times even though all conditions met to insert records, there is no insertion in the particular table. Also no error is logged. The stage is also successfully passed without any error.
Please help me out to solve the issue.

You can start by running wfstat.sql passing it the item_type and item_key for your workflow process and see what the workflow has done - you can check that the execution path actually went through the activity using that PLSQL code of yours.
Also, if any errors occurred, a notification must have been sent and you can see the number of such notification in the output from wfstat.sql as well.

Work flow not created for the Shopping Cart

Hi one of the customers created a shopping cart,in approval overview it is showing as no need of approvals,but the status of approval is 'awaiting approval', but workflow is not created for the Shopping cart. advised to re-order in change mode but still no use. please advise.

what do you see in SLG1? Check the below t.codes
SM58 - check for stuck remote function calls
ST22 - check for system dumps
SM13 - check for stuck update requests
SM21 - check in the system log for anything unusual
SWUD - run a consistency check on the workflow

Hi I am having the next problem, I have a workflow on list B that starts when a new item is created. If I created the item manually the workflow works. Now I have a list A that has a workflow that creates a new item in List B. The problem is that when
de workflow in list A creates the list item in list B the workflow does not start.
I've used an account that is collection owner, an account that only has contribute permision and nothing works.
Any ideas?

Here is another similar post with a workaround, you can try using the event receiver on listB item to start the workflow, when the listB item is created or updated by the workflow associated with listA.

2013 workflow does not start on item created by a different worklow

hi :)
i have spd created reusable workflow 2010 on a list A creating an item in a list B.
on that list - B - there is a 2013 spd reusable workflow which is supposed to start on item created but does not.
the workflow does start manually.
and it does start when I create an item manually.
if i check a 2010 wf on the same scenario - it starts o.k.
the item "created by" is the user who triggered the workflow - not the system account.
anyone??

The first thing I'd ask is if the workflow on list b is set to trigger when a new item is created. If this has been set correctly, I'd try running the step within Workflow A which creates the list items under an impersonation step. This subs
in the account details of the workflow author and as such should trigger workflow b.

Workflow Does not Start If Created by Another Workflow

Hi,
Hope someone can help me here.
I am using SharePoint 2013 Server and have created two workflows running on two separate lists (workflow 1 runs on list 1 and workflow 2 runs on list 2).
Workflow 1 creates an item in List 2. The workflow on list 2 does not kick off when the item is created.
I have tried both SharePoint Designer 2013 workflow and Visual Studio 2013 no code solutions (I have elevated privileges for the workflow app).

Yes, this is the default SharePoint behavior that SharePoint 2013 workflow does not start when item is created by another workflow.
For a workaround, you can create a event receiver on the List 2 to start the workflow 2 when an item is created.

Word document created by Workflows do not open

We are using Sharepoint Online (2013 version) and sharepoint Designer 2013
We have a requirement by which we would like to update a 'Word template' with the metadata information from a Document Set. A word document is created after the workflow executes, but the
created document is corrupt.
It does not open in Word Web App and when I open it using Word, I get errors.
I have Word 2010 installed on my machine. Can this be some kind of incompatibility?
I was going through some threads in this forum and noticed that this problem has been reported before also.
Is this some kind of a known issue when creating documents using Designer workflows?
What will be the alternate solution to meet this requirement

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the word documents created by workflow could not open.
Did the issue occur in other libraries? You can create a new workflow, then check whether it works.
You can also use the Copy item action for a workaround.
Here is what you can try.
1. Have your template in a folder that is hidden from your views.
2. Copy the template file with a name of your choice using "Copy list item" action
3. Use "Update List Item" action to change the properties.

Workflow not created

Hello all,
I created a workflow and transported to QAS. it was working fine. I was asked to make some changes by business users. I made changes in DEV ( tested too) and transported to QAS. Now i see in SWEL (in QAS) workflow gets triggered but the workflow is not started. i can see the message receiver started correctly (trace data->action of swel). but i don't get the WORKITEM button on top. nor does the object key in reciver data gets populated.
more info : transported to QAS. tested but changes didn't reflect. so opened up QAS. activated new workflow changes again. now workflow doesn't start at all.
can anyone help ? did anyone had issues similar to these.

Received this error (The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information.) recently on a workflow that was
working fine and no changes were made to the workflow.
I have tried a few suggestions, i.e. adding a pause before any ‘Update’ action (which didn’t help because the workflow past this action without incident); checked the data type being written
to the fields (the correct data types are being written); and we even checked the list schema to ensure the list names and the internal names are aligned (they
are), but we still cannot figure out why the workflow is still throwing this error.
We located the area within the workflow step where it is failing and we inserted a logging action to determine if the workflow would execute the logging action but it did not, but wrote the same error message.
The workflow is a Reusable Approval workflow designed in SharePoint Designer 2010 and attached to a content type.
The form associated with the list was modified in InfoPath 2010.
Approvers would provide their approval in the InfoPath form which is then read by the workflow.
Side note - items created after the workflow throws this Unknown Error some seem to be working fine.
We have deleted the item in question and re-added it with no effect.
Based on what we were able to determine there don’t seem to be any consistency with how this issue is behaving.
Any suggestions on how to further investigate this issue in order to find the root cause would be greatly appreciated?

I understand that the reusable workflow doesn’t work properly now. Have you tried to remove the Update list item action to see whether the workflow can run without issue?
If the workflow runs perfectly when the Update list item action is removed, then you need to check whether there are errors in the update action. Check whether the values have been changed.
